The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience. Install Infinity Reference 6022si 6-1/2" speakers in your car and change the way you think about long road trips and traffic jams. Reference speakers play your music boldly and cleanly, making your listening time more enjoyable. Reference speakers feature low impedance so they extract maximum power from any amplifier or car stereo. Infinity makes their Plus One+ woofers 30% larger than other speakers in the same size category. As a result, you'll enjoy deeper bass and higher efficiency for an impressive performance. The textile dome tweeters feature oversized voice coils that match the tweeters' diameter, a design that provides more surface area for heat dissipation and allows higher power handling. You can adjust the sound to your liking with the tweeter level control. Infinity makes sure that your installation stays stress-free by including Intermount III, a proprietary mounting system that allows you to install these 6-1/2" speakers in a variety of 6" to 6-3/4" factory locations. You'll also find adapters that fit many domestic and imported cars. Important Note: These Infinity speakers use a low impedance design to pull more power safely from your car stereo or amplifier. This design is compatible with virtually all factory and aftermarket stereos. Features Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency. Woofer Materials: Each woofer is constructed from Injection-Molded Polypropylene. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also lighter weight and more rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response. Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output. Textile Dome Tweeters: Each speaker uses an edge-driven textile dome tweeter for smooth, accurate highs. A switch on the front of the tweeter housing allows you to boost the tweeter output 3dB, useful if the speakers are mounted low in a door where high frequencies are easily absorbed. Mounting: Infinity's mounting system allows the 6022si speakers to fit in 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" applications. Metal and plastic adapter rings are included for each speaker. True Four Ohm Impedance Technology: The speaker's 2.65-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of your speaker wire provides a true 4-ohm load to your connected head unit or amplifier. I guess these are all gone, but if they find more, buy them. Great sound, easy install. Guide said it would not fit my car but looked at specs and figured they would. Extras they give you make the job easy. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Great upgrade! Written By Terry, Leesburg, VA on Tuesday, June 08, 2010 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I bought these speakers to replace blown ones in a Nissan Altima I had just purchased. I planned to replace the head unit as well. These were such an improvement that I am not going to replace the head unit! They ound great. A litle lacking in bass, but I expected that. There is a switch on the speaker to boost the treble 3DB. I used this for the front speakers, and (to my surprise) it made a great deal of differance. The fronts are in the door panels, and the 3DB really allowed the highs to be much better. Highly reccommend them - a great set of speakers, especially for the money! Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Needz moar bassez Written By Mr. Leasure, Utah on Tuesday, June 01, 2010 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) All in all, these sound WAY better than the factory Blaupunkt speakers ('04 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab) they replaced. Did I mention that all 4 speakers and even the 2 tweeters were blown? Anyway... while these speakers have VERY good high frequency and even better mid-range, there's NO bass to speak of. Granted I'm using the OEM head unit with no additional amp. But even with the stock stereos bass turned all the way up to max, there's barely a hint of any low end there. And I don't listen to rap or R&B, I'm a metal-head straight out of the '90's and these things can't keep up with that :( Linkin Park and Ramstein are at a loss... A subwoofer/box is being added soon to make up for the complete lack of bass... gee... darn :D Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 My first set of aftermarket speakers! Written By Natasha, Ellettsville, IN on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) My husband put these in my '95 Civic in the front doors and the rear deck. If you are used to the factory/stock speakers in this car, prepare to have your mind BLOWN A-WAY! I felt like I was a teenager again bumpin' through town! We paired these with the JVC KD-R210 receiver. They are a great combination and I will hear it no other way. Love my new Infinity speakers!!! Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Great sound! Decided to replace them with the infinity's since the factory system was infinity. Install took less than 20 minutes for both sides - thanks to the included instructions (I would have never brought my torx bits with me). They are a nice upgrade to the factory system for a good price. Customer Service does make a difference. Was this review helpful? They sound good. I have a 94' civic. They didn't fit the stock speaker mounting plate as depicted in the crutchfield installation guide. ..and the infinity mounting plates would not fit in the recessed, stock speaker locations. I stuck the included foam strip to the back of the speaker and screwed to the door sheet metal. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? You can't expect thundering bass from a shallow 6 1/2 inch speaker so I rolled them off at around 200 Hz (coupled with a 220 uF cap) and handled the rest with a home-brew 8 inch isobaric woofer. Together they are exceptional. I intended to add a pair for the front doors but with the deck speakers wired like this I have all the volume and headroom I could ever need. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Nice sound resolution...but, Written By keyson, California on Wednesday, April 07, 2010 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) there is no bass whatsoever. Well, not much at least. It works for me because I listen to a lot of talk radio. If you listen to stock head unit and do not want to change it out. This most definitely will work. If you listen to a lot of music. Get this and a subwoofer and some amps. I had no need for the speaker brackets. I was worried about sound resonation from the speakers--> door-->car body but, had no such problem so far. It is only been a few days and haven't had time to break them in. Will probably put some full range with some more bass. I do not regret the purchase at all. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Happy Again Written By Anonymous, Long Island, New York on Thursday, April 01, 2010 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I got the second pair of these for the rear deck in my 1992 Accord Sudan LX. They sound great like the first pair for the front. For some reason It sounds like they're more powerful in the back but it must be the way the car is designed that makes the sound travel differently. The bass is real good once you adjust the settings. These are hooked up to a Pioneer DEH-P3100UB headunit. Adjust the loudness to HIGH , High Pass Filter ON , Subwoofer ON and further tweak the settings and you will never need subwoofers. These are loud enough to make you go deaf. I actually damaged one of the speaker cones and I almost had a heart attack. I put a long tear in the cone trying to screw in a nail to create a new hole for screws while the speakers where on the rear deck case. Rookie move, I know. However, I connected the speakers and they sound like nothing ever happened to it. That must be a good sign that these speakers will last long and are durable. *dont try to make new holes in the rear deck speaker case. Fit one screw and you'll be fine. * It's easier to install the front speakers rather than the back because the rear deck casing is much more difficult to make new holes in, which you're likely to do for the front speakers. For the rear, I only got one screw in and that is fine because everything else fit fine. They sound and work great. I would suggest anyone to buy them. just be careful with the rear deck installation. Was this review helpful? I spent few weeks shopping around and when I first heard them in a local electronics store, I was in love. Great highs, mids, and lows! I don't know why many people are finding lack of bass because they kick very well. After reading all the reviews I was expecting a pair of speakers with no lows at all, but was very surprised when first powered them on. Yes | No 4 out of 5 Overall, very sweet! Written By Robert, Central PA on Thursday, February 25, 2010 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I had my first experience with Infinity after high school. Bought a Dodge Daytona with a factory Infinity system that turned heads. So I had high expectations. I think Infinity build the BEST speakers for highs and mids hands down. I've tried pioneers, Kenwoods and have heard many others in friends vehicles. The bass is a bit lacking compared to the factory speakers, but all they were were 4 big woofers. I tried turning on the loudness feature on my head unit and moving the bass up to max and it's better, but not what I had hoped for. I would recommend these speakers if you want to ad a sub to get a great full sounding system, which I plan now to do. Don't expect much out of an aftermarket 6.5" speaker for bass! Get a small sub! 3 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? I bought two pairs of these speakers to improve the performance in my 2002 Saturn Vue. I intended to use them with my JVC HRD-30 receiver. The install was easy thanks to Crutchfields supplied adapters. I could not believe my ears when I first powered them up. These speakers are inefficient. I was misled by the 93db rating given this speaker in the catalog when in actuality they rate 87db per watt. Secondly they do not have any bass output. If you turn them up the woofers bottom out making a cracking noise!! Thank God Crutchfield has a satisfaction gaurantee. Yes | No 4 out of 5 Did the Job Written By Keith, Brunswick, Ga on Thursday, February 04, 2010 I bought these speakers to replace the rear deck speakers in a 1999 Nissan Altima. I wanted speakers under 100 bucks which would meet or exceed the old speakers. These speakers did this and sound good. Infinity does not provide written instructions or product information. It is all pictures. These speakers have a Tweeter level adjustment, but you have to go to the web site to find that out. The +3db position gives a brighter sound. After testing, I put them in the 0db position. Other reviews have expressed concern about the bass response with these speakers. I talked to a Crutchfield tech before I ordered these speakers and he suggested using XTC speaker baffles to improve the bass response. I did that (see my review of the XTC speaker baffles). I did have to adjust my bass and treble settings to get a proper sound, but once done the speakers sound good. I use Roger Daltery's Under a Raging Moon as my "test" song for all adjustments. Crutchfield was great. I called at 5:30 on a Saturday night for tech support and got a real live AMERICAN human. I needed help getting a trim piece off and the tech was able to guide me through the process. The Crutchfield installation instructions were clear and the hook ups needed to mate the speakers to the Altima's wiring were provided. 5 Stars for Crutchfield. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? I would definitely recommend these if you are getting a separate sub. I'll be getting a second pair for the rear deck and eventually get a sub... it should sound superb! Written By Shawn, Texas on Monday, October 26, 2009 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I had these speakers in my Dodge Dakota quad cab for almost a month. I had them running on my infinity amp AND with the infinity amp bypassed and powered with a Alpine amp at 50x4 channel and they are very obnoxious sounding speakers. They are horribly bright and can't listen to them for long without fatigue. I had them EQ'D ten ways from Sunday and couldn't get them to sound anywhere near quality sound. They have absolutely NO BASS whatsoever. I wouldn't even use them in a subwoofer setup. The +/- 3db button on the speaker does absolutely nothing. I am very surprised at all the happy people with these speakers. I have replaced these with a set of Polk db6501 components for the front and Polk db651s coaxials for the rear. Now these are EXCELLENT speakers!!! Do yourself a favor and pass on these speakers and go up a notch. I was really amazed they sounded this bad. Also Crutchfield has the polarity reversed on their speaker adaptors. It may not be that big of a deal on polarity but then again it's just sloppy if you want a quality install. 6 out of 11 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 I'd buy them again, but... Written By Anonymous, Indianapolis, IN on Monday, October 05, 2009 these are not the speakers to buy if you plan to run them full range. They have excellent mid and high performance, but the bass is nowhere near as pronounced with these speakers as the factory Kia speakers they replaced. They are capped from the factory - though the instructions don't mention at what frequency - so it is clear that Infinity never meant these to be the only speakers in your car. That said, they made a dramatic improvement in sound stage and mid/high clarity. Not into SPL so I'm just filling these out with a pair of 8s driven with a bridged KAC-622 (which has worked flawlessly for 15 years) and it sounds amazing. My suggestion: If you don't have a sub or plans to buy one, don't get these - get the Kicker 6.5" ones. If you want to have what I think is near-component speaker SQ, and can fit more bass somewhere else, these are the best speaker you can get in this price range. 4 out of 4 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? I bought these for my Saab 9-3, which had blown 2 ohm subs in the doors. They were recommended by Crutchfield. They no longer rattle. However, the bass is less than the factory subs. I expected that the mid and treble of the speakers would not be used for this application, but I was hoping for more from the bass. I wanted to match all the speakers (I got all Infinitys), and this might have been a mistake. I also bought the 3022CF 3.5" speakers for the dash and the 5022i 5.25" speakers for the rear deck. The 3022 is a huge improvement over the factory speakers. The 5022 replaced 6X9 speakers- They are good for full range use, and the mids and highs are improved over the existing speakers, but the bass is reduced from factory output. The bass that all Infinity reference speakers produce is punchy and modest. The mids and highs are exceptional. Use them where you also have subs and you won't be disappointed. The tricky part about picking speakers for any factory system is matching the speaker capabilities with the amp(s) and frequency outputs, as manufacturers already employ frequency filters in many cases. My 3022s sound fantastic, while the 5022s sound just good. The 6022 is just ok. Lesson: Keep this in mind as you research speakers and specs and you might avoid my issues. Even good speakers can underperform when not carefully matched to your stereo output. This means more than just fitting in the speaker hole and using quality materials. 4 out of 4 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? The OEM front door speakers were distorting badly on base notes. I replaced them with these 6.1/2" Infinity speakers and mated them to a new Clarion DXZ385USB receiver. The Clarion has a lot of adjustment and the Infinities handle everything it can put out. They handle heavy base loads without distortion. They give a nice clean, crisp sound at all frequencies. Before I was fading the sound heavily to the rear speakers because the front door speakers were so bad. Now, I fade slightly to the front because the Infinities are the best speakers in the car. The four hole Infinity speaker mounting holes of course don't match the three hole OEM mount. I found it much easier and quicker to drill new holes instead of trying to fit the adapter plate. If you do this, make sure the clip on nuts that come with the speakers will not interfere with anything where you are going to drill new holes. These speakers are far superior to OEM front door speakers and I recommend them for this purpose. You really get a lot of speaker for the price. Was this review helpful? These components are the bomb & worth the extra change. However, I find myself wanting to hear the "rear fill" too because these coax speakers sound really great. Very clear, lots of detail, and will punch out as much tight mid-bass as you have clean power to offer them. They respond slightly differently than the components, so you will hear more with this combo than you would with 2 sets of the same speakers. Construction is the same, so they are matched in tone. They work well in my 1998 Mountaineer and integrate nicely with my new Alpine head unit. The headphones unfortunately sounded absolutely horrible. There is no bass whatsoever. They lasted one day until I threw them in the trash can. My $10 ones sound 10x better than these. So enjoy the speakers, but the HK headphones were not even worth keeping even when they're FREE. Maybe there is a reason they were FREE? HK must be clearing out headphone inventory. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Not enough power by themselves they need amps Written By Is, IL on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I bought 2 pairs of these to replace factory clarion ones in my Suzuki XL-7. The stereo is a new Sony BT headunit that has a max of 50w/ch but alone pushes 16w/ch. I have to say they sound a lot better than the stock ones but they definately need an amp. Radio volume can only go up to #25 out of 36 and thats with lots of distortion. Theres really no bass either. Mids are good and so are highs but then again I have stock tweeters on the dash. So if you want louder and bass you definately need to add a sub and amps in order for these speakers to sound great. Am I satisfied... Not really because in order to have things sounding better or great I have to spend around $500 for sub and amp. Do I recommend them... Yes I do but keep in mind unless you listen to your music really low then you must shell out more cash after this purchase for a higher powered radio in addition to amps and subs. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
