I must concur with some other reviews when it comes to losing base responce. I gained more by taking out the baffels. The 6022si does very well with mids and highs and would be best with a separate sub woofer.

I used these speakers at the recommendation of the online speaker matching web program. I blew out my OEM front speakers on my Chevy Silverado. The stereo is the stock am/fm CD player. These speakers did not function well at all with the OEM stereo. Either the match was incorrect, or these needed a better driver. The bass was horrible and would bottom out at any increased volume. I traded them up for the
Alpine SPG-17C2. They work much better.

Good-value speakers
Written By
joeflyer, Newark, CA on Tuesday, January 12, 2010
Two of these speakers were installed in the back of a 2009 Honda Civic GX. The GX model comes with a simple head unit with only front-door speakers, so the interior of the car is never "filled" with sound-good or bad. The addition of these speakers greatly increased the music capabilities of the car. They are lacking in bass response, but this may be due to the head unit. Overall, I am pleased with the results from the addition of the Infinity 6022si speakers.

Great speakers. I put them in the rear door of my 2000 gmc jimmy to replace
stock speakers in the rear doors. Now my car has a total of 12 new speakers,
and wow these really made a difference. I cant believe the sound i absolutely
love them. They feel strong and heavy, but at the same time they are very
shallow. Great buy. I am thinking of replacing some of my other speakers with
these!!

Bought these speakers from my subaru. Took about 3 hours to install all 4 of them, I would rate installation about a medium hard.
Kickin' speakers, they almost blew me out of my car.
Great price(they were on sale), quick delivery and quality. Thanks Crutchfield.

Great speakers
Written By
Michael, San Antonio, TX on Sunday, December 13, 2009
I replaced the stock speakers today in my Tahoe with these and I couldn't be happier. I don't know what other reviewers are talking about when saying these don't give off any bass. The highs are crisp and it does a great job with lows. These aren't supposed to take place of any subs, you want hard bass, get a sub, you want great quality speakers with great highs, mids and decent bass with low distortion, these are your speakers. I'm already looking at getting more for my other vehicles and am recommending them to people.

Replacing Factory 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Infinity Door Speakers
Written By
alpennsygg1, Scottsboro, Al. on Monday, November 30, 2009
Just Want to say Wow what a diffrence from the OEM Infinity Gold Speakers in my 95
Grand Cherokee's rear doors. They were easy to install, the instructions were spot on,
the sound is great, nolonger any distortion from woffers that were on their way out.
Got the extra addapters from Crutchfield , but the ones that came in the Infinity Box were
exactly the right ones , will be replacing the front door speakers next, with another pair of
these Speakers, as was said in previouse comnts leave the button at factory setting of
3db , makes stereo sound perfict espeacialy if you are like me and don't like the
thumping
noise of these loud distortion boxes out there , but perfer a clean sounding stereo with
great all around sound !

These replaced the 2 front speakers in my Nissan Maxima. Considering they're in a hostile inviroment and the ambient noise is uncontrollable these work fine for me. I don't need a flat 40 to 20,000 hz response curve.
I'm very satisified with the price/performance trade off.

Awesome.... but not perfect...
Written By
Elvir, Louisville, KY on Monday, November 09, 2009
My setup: 98' Altima with a Kenwood KDC-MP242 and stock speakers in the rear deck.
First of all.... over stock speakers, a WORLD of difference. Like a lot of
reviews say though, these speakers are not a replacement for a sub. Mids and
highs are just awesome and clear and even some lows are not bad. I would
definitely recommend these if you are getting a separate sub. I'll be getting a
second pair for the rear deck and eventually get a sub... it should sound
superb! Thanks to Crutchfield though for great customer support!!

Yuck!
Written By
Shawn, Texas on Monday, October 26, 2009
I had these speakers in my Dodge Dakota quad cab for almost a month. I had them running on my infinity amp AND with the infinity amp bypassed and powered with a Alpine amp at 50x4 channel and they are very obnoxious sounding speakers. They are horribly bright and can't listen to them for long without fatigue. I had them EQ'D ten ways from Sunday and couldn't get them to sound anywhere near quality sound. They have absolutely NO BASS whatsoever. I wouldn't even use them in a subwoofer setup. The +/- 3db button on the speaker does absolutely nothing. I am very surprised at all the happy people with these speakers. I have replaced these with a set of Polk db6501 components for the front and Polk db651s coaxials for the rear. Now these are EXCELLENT speakers!!! Do yourself a favor and pass on these speakers and go up a notch. I was really amazed they sounded this bad. Also Crutchfield has the polarity reversed on their speaker adaptors. It may not be that big of a deal on polarity but then again it's just sloppy if you want a quality install.

I bought these along with the 6020CS. After installing them without an amp, to my factory
deck, I was very disappointed with the sound. They are clear and have little distortion but
they are not what you would expect. They are nice at lower volume but when you turn
them up the performance goes down. If your gonna run these without an amp or with a
factory deck, I would buy something a little less expensive.

Good replacement from stock
Written By

Got these to replace the stock blown speakers in my '01 Durango R/T with the Infinity system in it. Install was smooth as silk. Speakers in the box can with the proper brackets, and I didn't need to use the one that Crutchfield send with. As other has stated, the bass is lacking but with some adjustment to the 3 band EQ I got it how I like it.

I'd buy them again, but...
Written By
, Indianapolis, IN on Monday, October 05, 2009
these are not the speakers to buy if you plan to run them full range. They have excellent mid and high performance, but the bass is nowhere near as pronounced with these speakers as the factory Kia speakers they replaced. They are capped from the factory - though the instructions don't mention at what frequency - so it is clear that Infinity never meant these to be the only speakers in your car.
That said, they made a dramatic improvement in sound stage and mid/high clarity. Not into SPL so I'm just filling these out with a pair of 8s driven with a bridged KAC-622 (which has worked flawlessly for 15 years) and it sounds amazing.
My suggestion: If you don't have a sub or plans to buy one, don't get these - get the Kicker 6.5" ones. If you want to have what I think is near-component speaker SQ, and can fit more bass somewhere else, these are the best speaker you can get in this price range.

Don't waste your money
Written By
Daniel, Phoenix, AZ on Wednesday, September 02, 2009
I was very disappointed by these speakers. I purchased four and of these Infinity speakers after reading the good reviews. But I wish I would have just left my car alone. These things make my paper stock speakers seem like high-end speakers. They don't just have NO bass, but you can hear a thud when any low notes try to be played. I bought these for my Civic and had them installed locally. I didn't want to break any of the plastic clips when I installed them myself. The bad thing is I am kind of stuck with them because I can't afford to have them removed and the installer already threw away my stock speakers. I have no reccomendations except, go to the store and listen to speakers before buying them.

Big improvement over cheap aftermarket speakers!!!
Written By
Guillermo, Puerto Rico, USA on Thursday, August 20, 2009
I had aftermarket speakers in my doors before I got these speakers and I though the sounded good, but the bass got distorted so I decided to put new speakers, the infinity speakers were the number one choice so I got them, now believe me these speakers impressed me and my family when we first pump up the volume, the clarity and the sound are amazing. In conclusion if your going to buy new speakers and had in mind some 40$ cheap speakers do not do it, go with infinity they have been a long time in the market and been use by thousands therefore you can not go wrong!!!!!

Great speaker if you want full range quality
Written By
Ryan, Baltimore, MD on Saturday, August 08, 2009
I bought these for my Saab 9-3, which had blown 2 ohm subs in the doors.
They were recommended by Crutchfield. They no longer rattle. However,
the bass is less than the factory subs. I expected that the mid and treble of
the speakers would not be used for this application, but I was hoping for
more from the bass. I wanted to match all the speakers (I got all Infinitys),
and this might have been a mistake.
I also bought the 3022CF 3.5" speakers for the dash and the 5022i 5.25"
speakers for the rear deck. The 3022 is a huge improvement over the
factory speakers. The 5022 replaced 6X9 speakers- They are good for full
range use, and the mids and highs are improved over the existing speakers,
but the bass is reduced from factory output.
The bass that all Infinity reference speakers produce is punchy and modest.
The mids and highs are exceptional. Use them where you also have subs
and you won't be disappointed.
The tricky part about picking speakers for any factory system is matching
the speaker capabilities with the amp(s) and frequency outputs, as
manufacturers already employ frequency filters in many cases. My 3022s
sound fantastic, while the 5022s sound just good. The 6022 is just ok.
Lesson: Keep this in mind as you research speakers and specs and you
might avoid my issues. Even good speakers can underperform when not
carefully matched to your stereo output. This means more than just fitting
in the speaker hole and using quality materials.

Written By

Amp: no
Head Unit: Pioneer 6800MP
The sound is fine, but these speakers need to be fed more power to really shine. I need to add an amp so they come alive, but for now they work just fine and for the price, I am more than happy. I would purchase these again.

Great price and even better customer service. The install instructions were accurate and clearly presented. I spaced and didn't look under the speakers in the box for the mounting brackets so I called. Rushed me out a pair of replacements immediately. The speakers sound great for what they are. They are a bit thin in the bottom but I expected that and have no complaints. My wife, they went in her 03 Toyota Sienna, is ecstatic with them.

I own a '97 Dakota that came from the factory w/Infiniti sound system so the install was a no-brainer. Infiniti gives you all the brckts. you will need.
As for the sound, my truck is an ext. cab so these went in the back. I put them in to go with the 6020cs Infinitis in the front. WOW!! Combined with the factory Infiniti amp, I have all the sound I need. There are some who would expect teeth-rattling bass, go buy a sub and amp! The bass, and mids, and highs are all I could hope for, and then some! Why wait? Buy now! You will not be sorry! Thanks Crutchfield for such GREAT service.

mediocre performance
Written By
Marshall, Joppa, MD on Monday, June 15, 2009
WHile these are not high end high priced speakers I did expect the bass to
at least match the factory speakers, what a dissapointment. I Installed
these in a 2000 Durrango RT with an original 6 speaker factory system
(original infinity system from Chrysler) replacing the front and rear door
speakers to have the same balance on the amp. The mids and highs have
nice defenition but the lows are very dissapionting to say the least. I
installed 1 speaker at a time and tested so I had the old and the new to
campare against each other.
I threw away the "included" wiring harness as it didn't fit the facotory
wiring harness and rather than patch the wires I cut the wiring terminals
off and soldered directly to the speakers. Also discarded the mounting
instructions as they were incorrect as well. Fortunatley, I've been doing
this for many many years and wasn't hindered by this just a cautionary
note to the uninitiated or inexperienced.
In all, Im rather disapointed in Crutchfield's recommendation (purchased
these over the phone with an "expert's" recommendation) and the
incorrect wiring adapter and erroneous directions.

Written By
gil, florida on Tuesday, June 02, 2009
Purchased a set of the 6022si and 5022i for a 2009 Honda Civic LXS. Connected to Honda head unit. Crutchfield on-line info. says 6022's won't fit in rear deck, but they fit perfectly.
Used the Crutchfield adapter plates front and rear. Simple installation in both places, even having to pull the front door panels to access the mounting points. No drilling necessary front or rear.
Sound is definitely better than stock Civic speakers. Mid-range and high end are very clear. Bass is certainly lacking if you want to feel it in your butt, but it's not bad if you listen at less than eardrum-splitting volumes.
If you want "thump-a, thump-a, thump-a" where the bottom end speaker(s) moves enough air to push the car down the highway, these are not going to make you happy. But I'd bet they'd sound spectacular teamed with a sub-woofer, crossovers, and a better head unit.
Overall I'm pleased with these Infinitys. Worth the price.

I replaced the two 19 year old factory speakers in the rear of my 1990 Acura Legend L sedan. The originals were crumbling as I took them out. Needless to say, the rear speakers sound fantastic now. Can't beat these for the price. The new speakers would not fit on the original brackets directly, but was able to mount speakers to the metal brackets that came with the speakers and then fit them to the original brackets. The instructions were of little assistance but the install was very easy once I figured out how to do this. I am very happy with the whole transcation, and Crutchfield is the place I will go to from now on for great products and excellent service.

Good Value for the Price
Written By
eelecurb, Kansas City on Saturday, May 30, 2009
These Infinity speakers are solid and good quality, a typical Infinity product. Mounting holes on my Toyota Sienna didn't match up so I had to use the included mounting adaptors. The only problem in the installation was the Toyota wiring harnesses Crutchfield includes (for free) were wired exactly opposite the OEM wiring. They connected to the speakers correctly but were wired backwards (i.e. positive to negative) inside the connector itself that snaps into the OEM wiring. I contacted Crutchfield who was unaware of this issue. I ended up soldering using all the original wiring to ensure correct installation so it took longer than I had hoped.

Weak at the low ends
Written By
Mike, Boston, MA on Thursday, May 28, 2009
These speakers do perform and sound well at the mids and highs just fine for the price, however these are my rear speakers in my little subcompact car, since the mounting hole doesn't support anything bigger. The bass response is a terrible waffling flop noise at high volumes unless I turn on a high pass filter at 125Hz, effectively cutting off any significant bass. I was hoping I wouldn't need to buy a subwoofer for my car, but now I realize these reference speakers won't suffice for the low end... I should have read the user reviews first.

Severe Disappointment
Written By
himynameisaaron, PA on Sunday, May 24, 2009
After watching Crutchfield's review and reading reviews on here from people, I thought I would try these to replace the stock Monsoon speakers in my '02 Jetta after I blew one out. I'm not sure if it's my setup or how they were mounted, but they sound awful. The low end response between 60-150 khz is almost non-existent and when I try to add the slightest bit of "thump" they completely distort. High's just cut through everything and could break crystal glasses if there were any around and that's after me EQ'ing and everything. Don't waste your money. These were a complete downgrade for me.

Awesome speakers...
Written By
Chad, Pensacola, Fl. on Saturday, May 23, 2009
I recently replaced my stock speakers in my car with these Infinity Reference 6022si 6-1/2" speakers.
Man, what a difference. The clarity and overall performance is amazing. Clear highs and mids, as well as lows though I put a high-pass filter on them because I have an Alpine 10" Type-R sub in my system as well.
The lows aren't amazing, but they do their job for filling in the gap between the mids of these speakers and the lows of my sub.
You definitely should buy a sub to go along with these, because they aren't designed to have amazing bass. They are designed with the purpose of having at least one sub to complete the system.
I don't have any complaints for these speakers, they are incredible and I am very happy I bought them.
Go with Crutchfield because they give you the installation kits and instructions you need.
Brutal.

After a lot of struggle and foul language, the task was finally done. And i would do it all again. These speakers are great !!!!!! the sound is better than i thought it would be. The service from Crutchfeild is first rate. I will definately keep shopping with them. You cant go wrong with these speakers, thats a major understatement

Fine speakers at a good price. Placed four of these in the stock locations of my S-10 Crew Cab. They reinforce each other nicely to produce a reasonable bottom end. I think the build of the door locations and mounts help out. The brackets and connectors that were included for the front were right on. Nothing much to do in the back except add a bit of extra speaker wire because GM couldn't figure out the back as easily as the front. Low resistance speakers utilize the factory amplifiers efficiently. Think I have changed my mind to add additional bass speaker and amplifier. Crutchfield support helped out locating the screws in the doors that were hidden in the rear and who knew they would use standard threading in the front and metric in the rear. Very easy installation. Thanks Crutchfield.

They consist of good highs and poor to fair lows. I also installed Polk Audio 6 1/2 shallow mounts in the rear and would definately recommend those over these Infinity references. Much better lows and awesome highs. I should have installed Polks all the way around, but hey; you get what you pay for.... Fast shipping crutchfield! And prompt services answering all of my questions. Will shop again!

Infinity Speakers in Dodge Neon
Written By
alanhawaii, Hilo, HI on Monday, May 18, 2009
The OEM front door speakers were distorting badly on base notes. I replaced them with these 6.1/2" Infinity speakers and mated them to a new Clarion DXZ385USB receiver. The Clarion has a lot of adjustment and the Infinities handle everything it can put out. They handle heavy base loads without distortion. They give a nice clean, crisp sound at all frequencies. Before I was fading the sound heavily to the rear speakers because the front door speakers were so bad. Now, I fade slightly to the front because the Infinities are the best speakers in the car. The four hole Infinity speaker mounting holes of course don't match the three hole OEM mount. I found it much easier and quicker to drill new holes instead of trying to fit the adapter plate. If you do this, make sure the clip on nuts that come with the speakers will not interfere with anything where you are going to drill new holes.
These speakers are far superior to OEM front door speakers and I recommend them for this purpose. You really get a lot of speaker for the price.

Decent Speakers
Written By
James, Honolulu, HI on Friday, May 15, 2009
These speakers sound pretty good. Have great highs and mids. The lows
sound ok at moderate volume, but you get a cone flex sound pretty easily.
Even with the speaker obviously not over extending, you get that snappy
cone flex sound. I plan on turning down the bass feed to these speakers
when I install a subwoofer. It should round out a good soundsystem.

Great replacement speakers

I needed front speakers for a 2000 Chrysler 300M - these worked perfectly, and needed no modification. Easy to install with the included Chrysler wiring harness, and they sound better than the originals.
Dealing with Crutchfield was a joy.

High quality sound, great price.
Written By
Tomas, Franklin, MA on Tuesday, May 12, 2009
Just installed these in the rear doors of my 2008 Subaru Impreza. The sound quality is a huge step above the factory speakers... sound is audibly cleaner and louder (easy to compare since I still have a factory set installed up front). The base response is okay... not much of a concern for me though since I have an OEM subwoofer installed under the drivers seat.
Note to other Impreza owners... I found that these are a perfect fit in the front doors as well.

The ride: 2006 Chevrolet Impala
The setup: Kenwood KDC-X789 head unit
The experience: These speakers work very well. The bass is more of an illusion of what it could sound like if you have a subwoofer. They will hold their own, but not a good idea if you're looking to go without a sub. I cannot hear any distortion at high volume levels. Great buy for the price!

Fabulous
Written By
Russ, Washington, DC on Saturday, May 02, 2009
I am using these for rear fill on my 99 Jeep Cherokee Classic. As rear fill, I wasn't expecting much & didn't feel I needed much from these speakers. Well, they keep trying to steal the show! I have the Infinity Reference 6020cs installed up front. These components are the bomb & worth the extra change. However, I find myself wanting to hear the "rear fill" too because these coax speakers sound really great. Very clear, lots of detail, and will punch out as much tight mid-bass as you have clean power to offer them. They respond slightly differently than the components, so you will hear more with this combo than you would with 2 sets of the same speakers. Construction is the same, so they are matched in tone.
Infinity ships several adapter brackets in each box and enough hardware to install them in several locations (alas, only 1 pr speakers ;). I have these mounted in factory 5 1/4" speaker locations with no problems whatsoever.
With the price break, they are one of the best deals going.

Disappointed...
Written By
George, High Point, NC on Thursday, April 30, 2009
Sorry folks...but I thought these speakers were bad. Didn't handle the bass levels or high volumes. They did not have that "throw" you typically get or need for good deep bass levels. Granted, they are 6 1/2's so you can't expect the lows you could get from at least a set of 6x9s. Considering my options with 02 Dodge Ram1500 Quad Cab front doors, I would recomend not going with these but instead a good set of 6x9s.

I purchased these speakers to replace the rear factory speakers in a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. I am extremely happy with the quality of the sound at all ends of spectrum. It is such a "bonus" to have included everything you need from Crutchfield for a complete install. My only negative comment about the speakers themselves is that they do not come with an operations guide to explain how to adjust the tweeter level, although the Crutchfield website does explain this in a video. Great product and I recommend this as an excellent quality speaker. Easy to install!

Speakers are great, HK headphones are horrible
Written By
Paul, Houston, TX on Friday, April 24, 2009
I took advantage of purchasing these two (2) Infinity speakers to get a pair of HK headphones. They work well in my 1998 Mountaineer and integrate nicely with my new Alpine head unit. The headphones unfortunately sounded absolutely horrible. There is no bass whatsoever. They lasted one day until I threw them in the trash can. My $10 ones sound 10x better than these.
So enjoy the speakers, but the HK headphones were not even worth keeping even when they're FREE. Maybe there is a reason they were FREE? HK must be clearing out headphone inventory.

Not enough power by themselves they need amps
Written By
Is, IL on Wednesday, April 22, 2009
I bought 2 pairs of these to replace factory clarion ones in my Suzuki XL-7. The stereo is a new Sony BT headunit that has a max of 50w/ch but alone pushes 16w/ch. I have to say they sound a lot better than the stock ones but they definately need an amp. Radio volume can only go up to #25 out of 36 and thats with lots of distortion. Theres really no bass either. Mids are good and so are highs but then again I have stock tweeters on the dash.
So if you want louder and bass you definately need to add a sub and amps in order for these speakers to sound great.
Am I satisfied... Not really because in order to have things sounding better or great I have to spend around $500 for sub and amp.
Do I recommend them... Yes I do but keep in mind unless you listen to your music really low then you must shell out more cash after this purchase for a higher powered radio in addition to amps and subs.

These were a great replacement for the failing speakers in our Honda Accord. They sound great and produce a good amount of bass from the factory cd player. The tweeter also has an optional 3dB boost that some people may like. Quality is great for the price and would definitely recommend them to anyone else that's in the market.

Good but limited
Written By
John, Exeter, NH on Friday, April 17, 2009
These have beautiful clear highs and mid to lower mid range. I'm not sure why others have commented on the great bass. Even after insulating and porting my rear door speaker enclosures and adding a Kenwood 50W/ch. amp I can't say these put out much bass (spec 53-21k hz doesn't go real deep). I get more bass tones from the Pioneer TS-A1683R in my front doors. I have Kenwood KFC-6972ie 6x9 in my rear deck (now there is some kickin bass!)
These Infinity spkr. do a wonderful job of filling out the audio spectrum in this set up and can handle all the amp power with NO distortion.

I don't know why others have said that these speakers lack the oomph of a good bass, I don't have any problem with them at all. The quality of the speakers is first rate, something I have become used to with Infinity Products. I put a set in the front doors and a set in the back doors, knowing that I may have to put out some $$$ for a subwoofer. Not even necessary. They fit in my 2006 Saturn VUE without any trouble thanks to the kit included from Crutchfield and the installation instruction. Crutchfield delivers again!

Excellent choice if no Amp
Written By
daniel, Alliance, Oh on Friday, April 10, 2009
Put these speakers in my daughter's car. I chose the slim because they were rated for lower wattage. Since she doesn't have an amp and Honda radios are somewhat underpowered I thought it would be the best choice. They sound just perfect. Do realize even with the Crutchfield connector you will have to solder the wires to the speaker. I'm not very good with solder but managed to make it work without burning my hands or stabbing the speaker with the hot end.

Good speakers for the price. Clear sound. Tweeters are on the bright side
so if mounted about ear level do not boost the tweeter 3db with the button

woofer. I may well say that with any 6 1/2" speaker.

I bought two pairs of these speakers to replace my four factory speakers in my 1998 RAV4. Overall, I'm very satisfied. The highs are crisp and tight. The low sound could be louder, however, it's still well defined. Install was quick n easy .. these speakers will fit anywhere cause they're made for shallow openings.

Excellent Value
Written By
Eric, Medford, NJ on Sunday, March 15, 2009
When I bought these speakers, I didn't anticipate that they'd sound as good as they do. I have a Pioneer FH-P8000BT HU powering them at only 14 watts RMS and they sound great even at the higher volumes. I play just about all of my music off of my ipod via USB. The high quality songs (256, 320 kbps) sound excellent through these speakers, as well as the lower quality songs. They pack a punch, make my mirrors rattle sometimes. They highs are crisp, sometimes a little harsh but that's with the low bitrate songs. If you're looking for new speakers and don't want to spend over $100, buy these. They sound like speakers that should be priced upwards of $100. They were easy to install thanks to Crutchfield's master-sheet. They came with free adapters for the harness in the car so no soldering required. Shipped much quicker than I expected. I ordered on a Saturday and they arrived on Monday.

Sound great in Chevy Silverado crew cab
Written By
fldepaul, Clearwater, FL on Friday, March 13, 2009
These speakers sound great. I installed these in the rear doors of my
Chevy Silverado 2500 HD crew cab. The install was a little more
complicated than just screwing them in. The opening was a large space
that was more of a square opening, not round like the front doors. I
actually had to pop the old speakers out of the plasting housing they were
in and cut a circle out to allow the Infinitis to slide in and screw down. With
that said, it was not that much more complicated than it would have been
to drill into the doors and it was easy to reinstall the existing bracket. Just
make sure you have a jig saw handy. I am very pleased with the sound
and would recommend them to anyone.

sound good but only 1/16" shallower than the 's' model?
Written By

not sure why crutchfield made me order these for the front doors of my
2004 gmc canyon- they are only 1/16" shallower (i compared the
dimensions on the boxes) and i had plenty of room with the regular 's'
models i ordered for the back doors. these do have a smaller speaker
which probably makes them fit other cars better but probably don't sound
as good as the normal 's' models in my back doors- i can't really tell so i am
keeping them though.

Very Good replacement speakers
Written By
Bradford, Madera, CA on Tuesday, March 10, 2009
I just installed four of these speakers in my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport to replace the original 5 1/4 factory speakers. (No Infinity System) I installed two in the front doors and two in the aft roof sound bar.
They work and fit great. Just had to drill four holes and hook up the wires with the Chrysler wire harness adapters. In the front doors, I used the two original factory speaker mount screws and holes and the Infinity's fit great. Easiest install I have ever done.
As these are shallow mount 6 1/2 speakers they are not big bass speakers but, are a great inexpensive upgrade over the standard speakers. I'd buy them again.

Infinity 4 Life
Written By
Nathan, Phoenix, AZ on Monday, March 09, 2009
I have always liked Infinity speakers. When the time came to put a system in my car, they were my first choice. The Reference 6022si series is a fantastic speaker with crisp highs and punchy mids. I installed these in a 2005 KIA Spectra5. Due to the space constraints in the rear, the "shallow" speakers were a perfect fit (with stock mountings no less). The tweeter can be adjusted to your position and includes a minor dB adjustment.
If your looking for bass then buy a 10" or 12" sub. These speakers do exactly what they are intended to do and they do an great job at it.

Great Replacement Speakers
Written By
Eli, Parker, CO on Friday, March 06, 2009
I installed two pairs of these speakers on my '99 Dodge Durango with the factory Chrysler Infinity sound system. Reading through these reviews before I bought these speakers, many people with the factory infinity system noticed the bass was not nearly as good with these new speakers. They're definitely right. They cannot compare to the bass produced by the factory Chrysler infinity sound system, that was my biggest disappointment. The only reason I replaced them was because two of my factory speakers were blown. So if you own a car with the Chrysler Infinity sound system, I recommend you keep it if you like that extra punch with your music.
All and all though, extremely good speakers for the price. The sound these new speakers produce is crisp and clean and noticeably better. With the exception of the loss of bass, the sound in my car is much improved.

Installed in a 2009 MINI Cooper in the lower door positions. Fits like a glove thanks to the provided hardware. Clear and crisp sound, bass is crisp also, but does not have a lot of punch, but that's not what I was buying these for - my sub will add the kick. Very, very pleased with these. Paired them with Infinity 3022cf's in the upper door position. Highly recommended for any 2nd Gen MINI owner with the 6 speaker option who wants to replace the cheap paper drivers that come standard before they start sounding bad (which won't be long...)

These speakers fit my car (4th generation Maxima which is 95-99) perfectly with no added mounts or anything else needed.
As for the build, they are very sturdy and well designed.
The mid's and high's from these is great, however they don't handle bass all that well. You can't expect much for this price. These are for folks on a budget I think. That's why I gave them 5 stars.
I currently have them hooked up to my OEM non-bose stereo but will be installed a Kenwood DNX8120 on Monday along with an Audiobahn A6004V amplifier to power them. For the bass, I am getting a 10" Infinity Basslink powered subwoofer to take care of the low-end.
Definitely would buy again if I had to get something in this price range and quality.
As always, Crutchfield is great with their customer service.

These have been great speakers so far with only the head unit pushing them. The sound is crisp and clear, and the bass was better than I thought it would be. These speakers were a breeze to put in. It only took me 20 to 30 minutes to install both speakers in my front doors. I will eventually put new speakers in the back doors, to make my listening enjoyment even better. The master guide and instructions were easy to go by and made it easy to install my speakers. I would recomend this product to anyone.

Worse than cheap factory speakers
Written By
Mike, Yorktown, VA on Sunday, February 01, 2009
I had high hopes after reading what sounded like decent reviews for this
set of speakers. The price was certainly right, and I figured they had to
outperform the cheap paper speakers in my 2000 Chevy Silverado.
Boy was I wrong. Heed the warnings from the other reviewers -- these
things have virtually no bass. I'm actually considering disconnecting the
separate factory tweeters in my truck because these things sound so
tinny. No adjustment to the factory radio's settings can help with the lack
of bass (except to muddy the response).
If they weren't so cheap and if my truck wasn't just an occasional-use
vehicle, I'd seriously consider returning them. Honestly, I think the factory
speakers were better. Maybe as part of a system with additional bass
these might be OK, but as main speakers they suck. Buyer beware.

Good, but not great speakers
Written By
Kevin, South Orange, NJ on Thursday, January 22, 2009
I bought these as replacements for the rear door speakers in my 2000 Dodge Durango with the Chrysler Infinity sound system. The mounts shipped with the speakers were perfect fits with the door adapters the Infinity speakers used, but the wiring harness did not fit, so I had to do some splicing and soldering.
The speakers' high end is tighter than the factory Infinitis, but they have no where near the low end punch of the factory speakers. All in all, not a bad compromise, but I would have preferred these speakers had more of the low end that the factory speakers had.

Very Nice and Adaptable
Written By
David, Florida on Friday, January 02, 2009
I have a 2007 Cobalt I just got used last summer and after a while I got unhappy with the audio system. While at low to low moderate volumes it sounded good, but when those full range speakers moved in and out with the bass, it distorted the highs at that same bass frequency. I really needed speakers with separate tweeters. So, I called up the awesome Crutchfield tech. advisors. They said get 4 of these speakers to replace all the old speakers because I wasn't about to spend the money to integrate a new head unit ($180 + new head unit) and the old head unit sounded good. I put them in and to my surprise I would have had second thoughts about installing that 10" sub in the back with these speakers (still better with the sub, but these speakers will surprise you). The two ohm load instead of 4 (fr.) and 10 (rear) made it louder and these speakers are very clear. For a stock upgrade these speakers are awesome! The highs are a little bit harsh though as expected with infinity speakers even with the tweeter atten. at -3. Overall very clean, solid sounding speakers. Infinity did a great job looking out for the low budget group that needed new speakers without buying anything else. There were plenty of mounting gear to get the oversized speaker in my door easily, too.
The only complaint I have is that the basket on the speakers needs to be a bit more sturdy. They flexed a little bit when installing them in foam baffles.

Great Speakers!
Written By
Chris, Eagle Springs, NC on Wednesday, November 26, 2008
I purchased these speakers to replace factory paper ones in my 1997 Honda Civic. The instructions that Crutchfield gave were right on the money. These speakers have clear sound and great highs. The bass is tight with very little distortion. It doubled the loudness and quality of my sound with just the factory radio. Highly recommended!

Excellent Speakers
Written By
Dave, Reynoldsburg, OH on Sunday, November 16, 2008
I purchased these to replace Polk 6.5" speakers in the front doors, and Sony 6.5" speakers in the rear doors of my 2007 Toyota 4Runner. The old speakers just we're too muddy, and for some odd reason the Polks had a funny odor to them. Crutchfield stood behind the original speakers and swapped them out for the Infinitys. The new speakers are wonderful. Excellent highs and mid-range. Bass is not powerful, but tight. This is fine with me because I don't want booming bass. Just great sound. The Crutchfield guide said these wouldn't fit the rear doors. They fit just perfectly with the free mounting gear provided by Crutchfield!
Thanks Crutchfield for the excellent products and standing behind what you sell.

Good speakers, not great instructions
Written By
Anthony, S.I. NY on Friday, November 07, 2008
The speakeres were good replacement to the original Infinitys that came with the car however I think that the originals had better base, (maybe that's why the ripped apart after 8 years....), and the switch about the 0-3db on the tweeters is not explained in the factory instructions...

Very Pleased
Written By
dano, Phoenix AZ on Saturday, November 01, 2008
I purchased these speakers as an upgrade to my stock system in my 1996 Honda Accord Sedan. It is a work/commuter car that I did not want to heavily modify or sink a ton of money into. I simply wanted a better sounding system.
These Infinity speakers went in easily and sound great. Again, I know I can get blown away by component systems and subs but that was not my intent. I have far better clarity with these than I did from the stock speakers.
My next phase is to upgrade the head unit which I know will make a difference as well because I will be able to plug in my ipod and satelite units direct which will also improve the overall quality of the sound.
One thing that made this hands down the best modification I've done to any car on any level was the information and support I received from Crutchfield. Outstanding literature on how to do the install even if you are savvy on this kind of stuff, as well as the adapters to make splicing and reconnecting to the stock system a breeze.
I am now a big supporter of Crutchfield.

I replaced the 4 speakers in my '99 Eclipse convertible with these. The original fronts were 6 3/4" round and the rears were 6" x 9".
I like these speakers a lot but the Infinity directions were just pictures - no words - and the pictures were not detailed enough. The Crutchfield directions were very generic and were of only limited help too. I did not use the supplied parts and adapters as they were intended to be used I'm sure but I eventually got it to work and ended up with a nice installation. (I'm an electrical engineer with 35 years experience and very familiar with measuring, drilling holes and cutting screws to the right lengths - much more so now!) Possibly it would have benefitted to call the Tech hotline and receive assistance but I'm one of those who never asks for directions while driving either. Also I had to use some additional weatherstripping foam strip that I already had around to go between the adapter and the mounting surface.
I would give the speakers a 5 and the directions a 2-3. I'm surprised that a company like Infinity did not supply a decent description of their fancy patented mounting system.

Infinity 6022si for 2003 Kia Sorento (front)
Written By
Richard, Pittsburgh, PA on Wednesday, September 24, 2008
I chose these Infinity 6022si's to replace the front speakers in my 2003 Kia Sorento.
The Sorento EX speakers have their woofers and tweeters seperately wired from the underseat amp so I had to undo the parallel setup of the standard Infinity and wire the drivers seperately. When I called to ask about the wiring it took a long time to get a half answer. I ended up digging the wiring colors out from a website. It was also not simple to mount the speakers in the door as the standard speakers are a 3 hole pattern and the supplied adapters were 4 hole. So I had to drill a couple of extra holes in the adapters to line up with the holes in the door.
Now its done the sound does seem to have tighter bass, Others have commented about the tweeters highs, I haven't heard this.
If the adapters had fit and the wiring information had been supplied I would have rated this higher.

Paired with a Kenwood KDC-MP438 (see review) for a Dodge Dakota '04, front speakers.
Sound quality is exponentially better than factory (the weight of one Infinity equalled both OE speakers), and my selection was based entirely upon the advice of the Crutchfield operator. As this is a pick-up used as a p-u, I was not about to heavily invest in fantastic speakers to attempt to dissect the niceties of music with loud tires and open windows. That said, they far exceed my expectations for this price. Though they predictably fall short in the low register and the treble can seem a tiny bit 'tinny', the mid-range clarity is impressive given the less than ideal application of a p-u's front speakers, located down in the door. For the sound quality/price ratio, at least when paired with the Kenwood, I can hardly imagine expecting more.
A note on installation: for the Dakota, the factory brace does not line-up exactly with the Infinity speakers, and the 3 hole layout does not work with the Inf. supplied brackets. Reversing the factory plastic to hold the speaker directly to the door seems to have worked well - no vibrations, rattles, or distortion upon initial installation. The factory speakers are also glued onto the brackets and must be aggressively pried off. I am unconvinced that re-using the factory brackets, even with the foam backing, will last indefinitely, and therefore a very strong recommendation for these speakers, but not a perfect one.

These speakers are great! They are the second pair I have installed in my 96 Honda Civic hatchback. They are so easy to install in this vehicle with the supplied mounting brackets and screws. I had them powered by only my Pioneer DEH 7800-MP head unit, and they were fabulous.
Longevity! Another great perk with these speakers is they last. For over two years they took the relentless beatings I dished out at them. I even powered them with an (old school) Amp, pushing them over twice their RMS and they held up giving me reliable clean music.
THE DOWN FALL - I like to push every thing to limit and it wasn't until I powered these speakers with a Kicker 650.4 Amp that the inevitable happened. They blew! And well, so did the second pair. I would say that they do not have a HIGH enough power rating.
However, they are the perfect speakers to upgrade your factory or old/worn out speakers, and with the lower power rating they can be powered adequately using only an aftermarket head unit.
Just DON'T OVER DO IT!
If you're looking to really dish out some Wattage and have the amp to support it they are NOT the speakers for you.
Always order from Crutchfield! In my experience the customer support alone tops all other competition. Ordering since 1990 - User friendly web pages and customer reliability is what continues to make this company great.

1997 Honda Civic Sedan
Written By
Darren, Lihue, Hi on Monday, September 08, 2008
5 Stars for these speakers! Very clear and clean sounding. Highs are increadable. Mids are reproduced clearly, no muffling at all. Lows are great for 6 1/2 inchers. These speakers handle high volume very well. Ajustable tweeter gain is a nice touch. This is my second purchase of these speakers and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to spruce up the sound quality in any ride. Installation into the front door of a 1997 Honda Civic Sedan needed some minor alteration. Had to break off the mounting ears of the speaker frame in order to fit into the factory location, no big deal. Fits very snuggly though. No other complications.
Buy your gear from Crutchfield, I've been doing it since the Mid 80's, and never had a problem.
Aloha,
Darren

Sweet. I had ordered these for the front doors a couple of days after I had
ordered the 6022i's for the rear and the new head unit. I was glad I did
after getting the other stuff and installing it I realized that the stock fronts
would not do. I received these, and had them installed and working in
under an hour. The instructions were great and everything I needed to
install them was included. Crutchfield RULES. Saved a ton of money and
have a Clarion deck and Infinity speakers, for under 270. The sound quality
is way better then the stock setup. It was so easy to install with all the
included parts and instructions; Thanks Crutchfield!

These speakers will not fit into an Acura Integra, as mounting holes are on a 6" circle, not the 5-1/2" circle as needed. No real problem though, as Crutchfield support replaced them with a different brand and model that fit perfectly. The support line at Crutchfield makes all the difference.

These speakers are just what I expected from Infinity. Very clear highs. It has the push-button option of raising the super high frequencies 3db which really helps reproduce the timbre of each sound. Good bass at the lowest frequency. It won't belt out the lows like 6X9s or subs but that's not what they're made for. I bought a pair of Alpine SPS 6X9s at the same time as these to cover some of the lower end.
Altogether these 4 speakers are powered by a Pioneer dehp6900ub in a 98 civic coupe and sound great. Crystal clear!
Why rated 3 stars?
When I read reviews I don't look at the 5 star ratings because they usually don't have constructive criticism. I look for the 3 and 4 stars to see what problems people have with these. This is just to let you know that there are none if you're looking for incredible clarity, these are for you.

Great speaker for the price, performance Good
Written By
Willie, Fremont, CA on Monday, July 21, 2008
I was suggested these speakers by the Crutchfield Sales adviser initally. Compared many different ones and found this one fits the best for my vehicle without much modification and an amp.
I've just installed them on the 2006 Honda Pilot LX. I found that I had to keep the Honda Plastic housing
(made a few clips cuts and incisions on the depth- side plate) to fit on the Pilot doors. For this particular SUV, I had to use the metal plate ring. However, I was surprised that the mid-sized black screws didn't fit in the metal frame speaker mounting screws, so I had to drill the the metal plate from Infinity to make them fit. That's not good QA on that.
The speakers has a 0DB (default) or +3DB gain for treble should you decide to enable it by pressing on the push buttom on the front of the speaker before installing.
As for the sound quality, I give it 4 out of 5. It was a lot better than my OEM Alpines from Honda. I was able to get a wider range of frequency without much distortion at higher volumes.
The installation instructions were basically useless from Infinity. All those pictures details without English was nearly impossible to piece out.
One call to Crutchfield product support basically answered my questions right away. Then it was just experimenting and figuring how to install them.
If it wasn't for Crutchfield support, I would not have known how to install them or keep the speakers. I probably would have returned them in frustration.
You guys Rock.
Thank you

New Customer
Written By

One of my door speakers bit the dust, so I ordered these 6022si at the suggestion of a Crutchfield tech. Also, purchased the baffles and Duramat. Since only one speaker had failed, I replaced it with a 6022si and planned to install the other "later", because I thought they were the same. Not so. From the first time I turned on the stereo, the difference was apparent. After switching the fade and balance from side to side, the difference was even greater. I replaced the other speaker on the spot. The improvements in mid-range clarity and bass are amazing. My advice to everyone is to consult the staff technicians re your needs and wants and you won't go wrong. Prices were good, shipping was amazingly quick, communication was excellent. What else is there?

Very nice sound for the money!
Written By
christian, Everett, WA on Tuesday, July 08, 2008
Just bought this and installed last night.
Pros: Great sound with crystal clear highs. I recommend this for anyone looking for stellar sound on a budget.
Cons: Just a small gripe: The instructions were horrible. Not that you need much info for "using" a speaker. But the instructions from Infinity are meant to instruct you on how to install about a dozen of their speakers with different variations to the install. And there were not any words, just diagrams... like the kind you get when you buy something from IKEA but not as good. For example, it had two-headed arrows in one picture which made it seem like the tweeter can twist or pivot; which I tried a little but soon gave up as I was affraid I would break. I may never know what this double headed arrow implied.
Install: For my particular car, I could not believe that I needed to remove the rear seat plus 6 panels to get to the speaker location in the rear deck. I wish car manufaturers would just let you mount them from underneath. But it was no problem thanks to the excellent instructions from Crutchfield. I never had to pause to second guess what something meant (they do diagrams + words!)

Much better than stock
Written By
Jami, Asheboro, NC Zoo country on Tuesday, July 01, 2008
Ordered 2 sets of these speakers on a Saturday and they were on my front porch on Tuesday. Excellent job Crutchfield. The speakers were bought for my Wifes 08 Suzuki SX4 sedan as a factory replacement. Install was simple but a bit involved. New holes were drilled but that was expected. Included wiring for the speakers works but not exact for the car. Sound is clearer and crisper but I don't feel it was as good as expected. I blame that on the car itself and the factory HU. The bass through these is somewhat the same as stock but I also have a sub to install to make up for the lack there of. I know this speaker could shine if the car doors were better insulated.

Nice speakers, snug fit, confusing installation
Written By
Joshua, Upstate NY on Monday, June 09, 2008
I installed these into a friend's '02 Subaru Forester. Despite a warning from the site that I would have to cut into the door panels, no cutting was necessary. On the other hand, there were three tiny alignment posts (on the door panel) which we had to snip off in order to attach the mounting ring. This was easy, but there were no instruction details to help confirm this step.
The only real problem with the install is that the speakers come with a zillion different screws of all shapes and sizes. Nothing in the instructions told us that it was the tiniest, easiest to miss screws that were needed to attach the speaker cones to the metal mounting ring. Unfortunately, if you use any of the other screws, you strip out the mounting holes, turning a 10 minute install (really!) into an hour. Beware!

I bought these for
my 1999 Subaru
Forester in the
front doors. They
made a major
improvement in the
sound that was
coming from my car.
I couldn't use the
factory mounting
brackets or the ones
that came with these
speakers. So I had
to drill four holes
in each door to
install them but
they look great and
sound EXCELLENT.
One of the best
purchases I've made
for awhile. I
installed them in
less than 45
minutes. Now I went
ahead and ordered
the Boston Acoustics
speakers for the
rear doors because
the speakers in back
now sound horrible
compared to these.
If you have a
shallow mount
speaker application
I would go with
these bad boys right
here. You won't be
disappointed!!!!!!

One install note - I

Crutchfield says these speakers fit. They will fit but you have to make lots of modifications to get them to fit. I had to drill new holes and cut parts away from my speaker housing to even get the peakers to screw to the door. Also the directions they send do not say what you reallt have to do to get these speakers to fit in your car. It is a generic instruction sheet. I am pleased with the sound quality of the speaker. I replaced the stock speakers in my 96 Acura Integra. MY only complaint is that Crutchfied should explain the exact way to install these speakers for all applications and not send a generic version.

These speakers are an excellent addition to anyone who buys a new car
and wants to upgrade the sound system quickly and not spend tons of
money. I replaced the 2 front door speakers in my new Chevy extended
cab pickup with these Infinitys. The factory sound quality was not bad to
begin with, but the Infinity's quality went through the roof! And I am
extremely picky about sound quality. Time to put another pair in the rear
doors. Excellent mids and highs! Add a sub if you want heavy bass
though. Oh yeah, I'm running all the door speakers off of the factory deck!
They don't need an amp to sound wonderful. Great speakers at a good
price! You won't be sorry.

First off, I love CLEAN, CLEAR and LOUD music. I have a 2000 silverado ext. cab Z71, the front doors had 6 1/2 mid woofers with seperate tweeters. I replaced the 6 1/2 with the infinity 6022si and left the factory tweeters hooked-up, Sony MEX-1GB head unit(awsome with many tuning options), 2 kicker solo L5 10" subs out back. The 2-way speakers is really not made for bass, thier for mids and highs and now a days you really need a sub (atleast a small one) to make a system sound complete. These speaker sound so clean and clear even at loud levels, I was amazed. You know when an acoustic gitar is picking all 6 strings(low pitch to high pitch) or a drum roll "you can fell it" you will grin and say "wow". I hear notes that I never really heard before, even in alpines or polk, it's just so clean. I can't say enough about infinity quality and I've had many other name brands. Distortion, your ears will hurt before you get there. If you're not happy with these I'll buy them from you!

This speaker is just fantastic. The sound is crisp and clear and bass not bad. They are 6 1/2's. I replaced the DIN with a Kenwood X891 and replaced my stock speakers with these infinity. Crutchfield tech support were great! I had a ton of questions on my price range for speakers and it helped me decide on this pair. I have a 92 Civic they fit but needed some creative drilling. It supplies two mounting brackets neither worked for my application on the door. The holes did not line up at all.
Pro: Slim rear profile, Crisp, Clear, Quality high
Con: Besides the mounting brackets not aligning. None to report.

great stock replacement
Written By
jared, navarre, fl on Monday, October 08, 2007
Replaced the stock front door speakers in my 2001 300M with these. They're much brighter, because they have tweeters and the stock speakers didn't. As other reviewers have mentioned, you might like to add a subwoofer. But they sound great, they were a snap to install, they're better than the factory speakers were and they cost less.

2001 Durango R/T - Stock Infinity replacements
Written By
airdog, Mt. Vernon, IL on Monday, September 24, 2007
I purchased these speakers for my 2001 Dodge Durango R/T because I had a blown speaker in the rear drivers side door I also decided to replace the front speakers along with the rear speakers at the same time. After speaking with a Crutchfield rep I decided on the 6022si speakers because of his recommendation and the depth restrictions in the doors. The installation was easily done from the Crutchfield Master sheet. However, when I turned on the system after completing the install I noticed the bass was extremely weak. After reopening the door panels and checking the wiring I realized the connectors that Crutchfield supplied were not correctly polarized on both front speakers causing them to be out-of-phase. After correcting the connector wires and plugging them back into the speakers they sound better but are still lacking the low end bass of the stock Infinity speakers. They do however sound much brighter and can handle a lot more power without distortion than the stock Infinity speakers. I’ve outgrown listening to loud music at high volume levels (a little older and wiser but I still love the “hair” bands of the 80’s) and I prefer a more rich sound at lower volume nowadays. Unfortunately the 6022si’s don’t give me the low end bass at moderate volume levels that I was used to from the stock speakers. I’m sure they would be great with a sub-woofer setup and maybe a better amp but as for replacing the stock speakers alone I have to give them a 3 out of 5 stars.

Good replacement for stock and the price was nice.

I bought these to replace my stock speakers in a Ford ZX2. They really bring out the highs and mids very nice. I wasn't expecting much bass response from these, since these are only "door" speakers. That is why you put a sub in your ride for bass. I plan on putting a sub in my car in the near future. Thanks to Crutchfield for the great service and great price. These were from their "Scratch and Dent" sale. There is nothing wrong with that...it was ten dollars cheaper and sound just as good.

Written By

Put these in the front doors of my 2001 S10. I have it hooked to a new pioneer P4900ib(highly reccomended as well) reciever deck. The highs on these speakers are absolutely perfect! These speakers do not distort at high volumes!! Bass isnt to hot, Though better then stock. Can't expect much bass form this size speaker anyhow. Can't wait to install my Kicker S7 in the back to round things out. 5 stars for sure!

Excellent sound from a shallow mount!
Written By

I bought these for the back of my '05 Sentra and they sound great! Goes decently low, great sounding mids, and amazing highs. I needed shallow mounts for the back if I didn't want to cut the rear deck so that the tweeter wouldn't hit, but so far I'm very pleased with these speakers. They sound great, especially for shallow mounts. Easy to install thanks to the Crutchfield master sheet and supplied wiring harness! Bottom line is that if you want great sounding coaxials, but need shallow mounts, these are the way to go!

Very nice for the money

I had cut some holes in my '93 pickup doors to find that the window is held in by a bar that would interfere with a normal speakers mounting depth. So I bought these Infinity Reference 6022si and I've been very happy with them. It isnt easily noticeable from crutchfields sight but these operate at around 3ohms (2.x listed but the amps seeing 3ish), so if your HU already runs a bit hot its worth it to mention that these might make it run hotter.
I've got these powered off 2 channels from a kicker kx300.4 and they seem to be able to take more than they are rated for (50rms), I don't normally crank it up all the way but when I do its roughly 70rms that these are taking without distorting.
I hooked these up before mounting them to see how theyd sound and the first thing that struck me was "Dang these have some excursion! Oh no! I hope they dont have too much bass and make my doors rattle". I put some 6.5" by 2 3/8" deep XTC speaker baffles (which really take away the bass, but thats another review) so it paired up nicely with my doors.
These do have alot of bass, but those xtc foam baffles that I stuck them in require me to really crank them up if I want to hear it. I've got subs so this isnt a big deal and isnt the speakers problem to begin with.
5 stars from me!
p.s. The screws that came with these were the wrong size to fit the metal bracket they came with. Regular old size 6 sheet metal screws that you can find at every hardware store fit though.

2002 Toyota Sequoia Install- Piece of Cake
Written By
Nathan, Houston on Monday, May 21, 2007
First off - until recently there was not mounting kit for the 2002 Toyota Sequoia. I was told then the installation required the skills of a pro.
With the installation kit Crutchfield included and wiring harness - it took me maybe a little over one hour to install my two front speakers. I did had to drill about 3 holes on each door - big deal.
The sound so far with my stock HU is very good. I plan to upgrade the HU as well- so I am sure the speakers will shine even more with more power. BTW- these speakers though not noted for bass have more kick than the factory junk speakers.
Very happy with the product and Crutchfield's excellent installation kit!
