Powerful sound, sharp-looking pewter finish

Infinity's marine speakers bring superior sound to your boat. Strong, weather-resistant materials and precise construction ensure these high-performance speakers will keep the party going for years to come.

These powerful Infinity 612M 6-1/2" speakers feature a polypropylene woofer cone bonded to a tough, UV-resistant rubber surround. This design delivers full bass response, while maintaining excellent resistance to sunlight and moisture. The corrosion-proof, cast-polymer basket shrugs off deterioration caused by salt, moisture, and UV rays, while the stylish non-removable grille is specially treated to retain its shiny pewter finish.

The grille-mounted 1" tweeter offers excellent high-frequency projection. Infinity seals the front of the woofer cone along with the speaker's magnet structure for extra protection against moisture. Stainless steel mounting hardware is included.

Marine speakers

Written by: Scott from Massachusetts on July 6, 2015

I put 4 of these on my 23 foot cuddy with a Kenwood marine head unit and they sound awful. Like washers in a coffee can. Each speaker is installed inside a box which improved the sound some. There is no bass or mid to the sound. If you are converting from a 50's AM radio, this will be an improvement, otherwise, keep looking. Frankly, at the price point, I should have known better, and in their defense, I would say the speakers probably are priced right. They can go really loud, and very quiet. They look good anyway.

Pros: Straight forward install, they look good/ they can handle a wide range of power input and still sound the same. Friendly price point.

Cons: They do not sound very good.

I've run these speakers in two boats. I changed out the Sony marine speakers in my current Rinker that has 3 sets of speakers along with two tower speakers and a sub. These Infinity 612Ms sound much better than the Sonys and look fantastic!

Pros: Great sound when driven with a quality amp. Price!

Cons: Non

I have 2 sets of these mounted in audio tubes on 2 different ATVs. They stay covered in mud, and the sound has not changed one bit. They sound GREAT, very clear and crisp even at high volume. I can easily hear them over my aftermarket exhaust systems. I would prefer a little more base from them, but I think that is likely due to the non-adjustable EQ in the mp3 player i'm using with them. Either way, I can't say enough great things about them...especially for the price.

Pros: Already mentioned

Cons: None so far

These speakers sound great. They were easy to install, and look like they will handle the outdoor environment on the boat just fine.

Pros: Great sound, and great price. Good bang for the buck.

Cons: It would be easier to install them in a tower if mating terminal plugs were included.

Nice replacement speakers to my Rinker 232 BR. I replaced 3 pair of Sony's that were 10 years old. Hope they hold up like the Sony's as they weren't bad. The Infinity's have a crisp sound. Easy to install but have connection fittings compared to other speakers I have installed.

Pros: Sound and look great

Cons: Wire connector fittings are different than most.

these speakers sound great for the price and are very clear. Turn up the base a bit on the head unit to really get them rocking. I just wish they made an 8" speaker simliar to the JL's that are way to expensive for a 10 year old boat.

Nice Speakers!

Written by: Jeff from Solomons, MD on November 21, 2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

See below...

Pros: Great sound! Wanted something that would sound good at a decent price, these speakers fit that bill. With my Key West DC 2020 the speakers are exposed to the elements so it just not make sense to go super high end but wanted something above a cheap marine speaker. SS installation screws included is a nice touch. These speakers appear to be built to stand up in the marine environment, we will see on that.

Cons: The hardware kit does not include the quick connectors for the speaker wires! And they are not the marine standard 250 size either. So I ended up soldering the wires directly on and then covering them in liquid electrical tape. Probably the better solution as in the long run as they sealed completely. If you get quick connects I would be sure to seal the entire connection in liquid electrical tape.

Installed the speakers in my '84 Mastercraft the day before going on a weeks vacation. I have a 400W Alpine amp powering 2 sets of speakers along with a 10 inch sub. We cranked the music for the week and the speakers sound great. Plenty of speaker for my small boat. We also sit on the beach and listen to music and it was plenty loud and clear. Obviously I can't speak to the life span of the speakers, but so far so good. I have a blue boat and the speakers look great which is a plus. The 5 rating is based on only a weeks experience and also comparing these to the Kenwood speakers, now deceased, that preceeded them. The Kenwoods were not close in performance but I was also overpowering them. Match your speakers RMS rating to amp or stereo. My Kenwoods were rated 35W RMS, lasted 4 years and don't compare to the performance of the Infinity.

would highly recommend

I bought two sets of these to replace the 10 year old Infinity Marines in my tower that finally gave out.. Put simply,, they ROCK! The sound is incredible as well as the look! I never liked the marine (white) & my tubs are polished aluminum so already they look more like they belong there... Best part, I bought them from the "open box" section of Crutchfield outlet & saved over $100! While they sound good straight off the stereo I push the four with a 1000 watt Fosgate & they really sound good!

Great Boat Speakers

Written by: Peter from San Diego, CA on May 26, 2010

Puts ripples in the water with the bass it produces on my dual console fishing boat. I currently have a 500 watt amp that is split. One side drives the Bazooka in the cabinet, and the other side drives the two Infinity. Much clarity with the set up having all ranges covered high, medium, lows. I do also have two smaller front speakers, but this is where the fader of the radio comes in so I can control the volume around my imediate listening circle to hear the GPS and Marine Radio.

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: For full range speakers, like the Infinity, there isn't really a specific box volume required. Infinity does list a spec that identifies the precise box volume, because they are designed to work in a variety of spaces.
