Infinity Kappa 62.11i

Legendary sound

Infinity's Kappa Series 62.11i 6-3/4" speakers continue in the tradition of this legendary line of speakers, offering rugged construction and impressive sound quality. Once installed, these speakers will bring out every nuance and detail in your favorite music tracks, making time spent in your car seem more like a concert than a commute.

Large soft dome tweeters

If you're looking for natural-sounding high frequencies, Infinity uses edge-driven 1" soft dome tweeters in this system. The "edge-driven" design creates a larger tweeter that handles more power and delivers smooth response way down into midrange frequencies not covered by smaller "W"-shaped domes. You'll hear a more clearly defined soundstage where you can picture the placement of every instrument.

Infinity's UniPivot design allows you to aim each tweeter toward your ears, so you enjoy excellent stereo imaging even if the speakers are mounted way down low in your doors. Each tweeter also features a level control switch so you can adjust the brightness to your taste.

Glass fiber woofer with Plus One+ technology

If you like bass, the Kappa glass fiber woofer holds its shape when the power's cranked up, so you still get punchy and defined bass. Glass fiber weighs less than traditional materials, so you don't need a ton of power to drive this woofer. Infinity's Plus One+ woofer technology extends the cone right up to the edge of the basket, giving you more surface area than with most comparable speakers. A bigger cone means more bass to complement the superior high-frequency response.

Great for any system

These 2-ohm speakers are sensitive enough that you can power them with an aftermarket stereo, but you'll get your best results feeding them plenty of power from an outboard amp — up to 75 watts RMS. Grilles are included.

Note: Infinity describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-3/4" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-3/4" speaker.

Product Highlights:

  • 6-3/4" 2-way car speakers
  • Plus One+ glass-fiber woofer cone with hi-roll rubber surround
  • 1" edge-driven, soft dome tweeter
  • included brackets allow mounting in a variety of 6-3/4" and 6-1/2" openings
  • 2-ohm impedance
  • power range: 5-75 watts RMS (225 watts peak power)
  • frequency response: 45-25,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 95 dB
  • top-mount depth: 2-1/8"
  • warranty: 3 years
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Why replace your factory speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

Excellent Speakers

Written By Sandlapper, South Carolina on Monday, September 14, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I picked these speakers for their sensitivity, since I'm using a factory head-unit, and their pivoting tweeters, since they're in the doors, and I can't complain about the results. The sound is clear and the distortion I was getting from the factory speakers is gone. Of course, having the tweeters aimed at my ears instead of my shins doesn't hurt. You do lose a little bass when you go from midranges to coaxials, but I haven't been disappointed--and that's what subs are for anyway. They sound better to me without the treble boost. However, while they sound good with the factory head-unit alone, they are definitely begging for more power--an amplifier may well be in my future.

Pros: Clear sound, easy installation, good volume--even with the factory head-unit.

Cons: They clearly want an amp.

Bright, clear, ok bass

Written By Bill M, Georgia on Monday, September 07, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are good speakers. Clear separation. Great resolution. No discernible distortion. The door panels rattle before the speakers will give up, I assume as I have yet to hear them distort.

They are, however, very "bright," and it has been a struggle to balance them with the rest of the audio bands - to the extent that I may have to return them. Going to give them a little while longer to see if I can learn more about the Kenwood HU, Rockford amp, and JL sub to which they are attached, to see if I can produce a "rounder" sound from them. That is what I'm after. And, yes, the little button on the tweeter is set to 0db.

Part of the problem is that the music no longer sounds like the mush produced by the old system (putting it generously), and in a compilation playlist or on random play from the iPod, songs from different artists, different eras in record making, different genres, just different albums from the same artist, there are wide variations in EQ. I'm still learning how to deal with that through the Kenwood.

Still, even through all the adjustments I've made to try and smooth out the near-screech of the highs, when I'm driving along, I invariably wish I could turn that part of the spectrum down - like there is just too much treble, like they are really pushing too hard. Turning down the volume does it, but then you lose the song from being too soft. I don't know if I can put up with having to always struggle with it.

Pros: Excellent clarity and decent mid-bass. Seemingly undistort-able.

Cons: Very "bright" to the point of annoyance.

Awesome sound!

These "Do" Fit Rear Tacoma Doors - Great Speakers!

Written By Jack-, Florida on Thursday, May 21, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are shown as not fitting the rear doors of a Tacoma Double Cab (2014)- After receiving these for the front doors, I thought I'd try a fitment check in the rear door before a final mount in the front. Using a rear door mounting bracket (Metra) that was supplied by Crutchfield from a previous order I was able to confirm that these speakers do, in fact, fit in the rear doors with ample clearance. This is without using the Infinity included bracket, it is not needed for the rear (or front) doors. Crutchfield - you should update your site to indicate that these speakers do fit the rear doors in MY 2014 Tacoma Double Cab. Now on to the speakers... super smooth and beautiful balanced sound using a JL amp and Audio Control EQ from the stock Toyota head unit. I'll be ordering these for the rear doors since I confirmed fitment.

Pros: Smooth, balanced sound. Great bass from a 2-way speaker. Silk tweeters are not harsh and bright but smooth yet crisp. They do fit the rear door of Tacoma Double Cab

Crutchfield response on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 We've sent this helpful feedback to our Vehicle Research team to re-evaluate that speaker location in the 2014 Toyota Tacoma.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these to replace the factory speakers in my 2007 Chevy Tahoe. For some reason, the factory speakers didn't work all the time. Sound quality is much better! Was thinking I needed to purchase an amp to get even better quality, but after getting these speakers installed I was very satisfied. My son likes the sound quality as well and plans to purchase these speakers for his vehicle. May purchase a new radio/amp at a later date for even better sound quality.

Pros: Sound quality, clarity

Cons: None noted at this time.

Bought these to replace factory speakers on a 97 Grand Cherokee. They sound just as good as the factory speakers except they don't pop and crackle when I turn up the volume. Awesome! Maybe I'll replace the factory Infinity amp this summer, and take it to the next level...

Pros: Nice sound. 2 ohm. Bought on sale.

Cons: A little pricey if not on sale

These speakers are a huge upgrade from the factory ( paper ) speakers that came with my 2011 Nissan Pathfinder. The sound is exactly what I was hoping for.

Pros: Nice strong build with easy wire hookups ,,, ( no spade terminal ) They have a set screw system that I prefer

Cons: none

Great Speakers for the $$

Written By Bill, Illinois on Thursday, April 16, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the stock speakers in the front doors of a 2006 sierra regular cab being powered off an aftermarket Kenwood receiver. They are a huge improvement. They are very efficient, they handle the power the receiver is able to give it quite well. These would handle being powered off an amplifier well, they are tough

Pros: Great midrange sound and enough bass to please yet not "bottoming out" (distorting from overdriving). Very efficient speaker.

Cons: None that I can list. I think for the price, I really can't knock them anywhere.

I replaced my factory Bose speakers up front on my 2007 Chevrolet 2500HD and WOW! These speakers sound easily twice as good...killer clear highs and mids...surprising bass for a door speaker. Infinity makes a great product!

Pros: Great sound quality and appear to be very well made.

Cons: None as of yet.

Frustrating to install, but sounds great

Written By StevenN, California on Thursday, January 15, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This review is similar to the Infinity Kappa 52.11i

In terms of sound quality, its great! very clear highs and mids, albeit pretty poor lows, but thats what a subwoofer is for. What I had a huge issue with was the mounting kit provided by Crutchfield! They provided a kit for my 2009 honda civic, but they failed to warn me that I would need to drill holes into the metal frame to properly mount the speakers. With the long screws provided, it needed to penetrate through the metal in order to be secure. In addition, The plastic grill that covers these rear deck speakers wont fit on top they're open and bare.

Furthermore, the wiring kit they gave me wasn't plug and play either! I had to strip the wires because these kappa speakers don't have a +/- plug you just plug the clips into. They're more old-school and you have to screw in the wires.

Pros: Mids and highs are crisp and clear

Cons: poor lows

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I see a lot of reviews on Infinity speakers talk about getting distortion from them. I had the same problem with mine first with the Reference's and then with the Kapa's. I was getting distortion at around level 22 on my Alpine, which tops out at level 35. after troubleshooting everything with a Crutchfield technician, he thought it might have something to do with the low resistance, 2 ohms. To test this theory I wired 2 of the speakers in series, after that I was able to take the volume much higher before getting distortion. These speakers are louder than most 4 ohm speakers, if you are running 4 of them in your cabin unamplified they will not be overpowered by a ported 12 but if you're running 2 12's you'll want to give them at least 50 watts each. These speakers can be difficult to tune with the rest of your system, that said, I think they were designed to accompany lots of sub.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have them in the front and back of my 2007 GMC Serria Classic 2500hd crew cab, they sound really good, easy to put in. Just like it says on line some modifies needed ( just need to drill holes in the front door ). The back doors the holes line up from the old speekers!

Pros: The speekers have screws to hold the wires in, (positive and negative) better then the spade. I just cut the ends off the wireless that they give you, strip it back to where you can fold the wire over on it self and I soldered the wires for a better connection.

Just what I was looking for

Written By Mark C, Hawaii on Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Other reviews say that the highs are too bright but I solved my case by pressing the little button out. I have 2 pairs installed in a Honda Civic 2007 LX sedan and I couldn't be more happier. I still need to give them some time to break in but for fresh out of box and testing, these sound amazing. They can get loud without distorting and they don't rattle like my previous set did. And no, my car was already sound deadened, I simply swapped out the speakers. My usual genre ranges from Hip-hop to Rap, and Drum&Bass to Trap. I don't even need to adjust the EQ settings to get the sounds I want. Although most people say coaxial speakers aren't the way to go for sound quality (which is fair), these give a very close tone to quality with convenience. I did want quality but compromised a bit for the convenience of a simpler instal, and these were the perfect answer. The tweeters have been turned so they point more toward me and the highs are nice and crisp. Powered by a Kenwood Excelon XR900-5 and the speakers handle perfectly. No regrets at all.

Pros: Loud and powerful when you want them to be Mid-bass is great Mid-range is clear with no distortions. Highs are crisp and not too bright

Cons: It was a little too large to put factory speaker grills back on for rear deck but only a minor inconvenience.

Excellent value and sound but poor low/base

Written By Alex, Coral Springs, FL on Saturday, November 01, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers fit both front and back in a Mini Cooper r56 and r57. These speakers are a great improvement over OEM speakers. I would recommend these speakers for someone who listens to spoken work/news, Jazz, classical and rock. If your end goal is punch for music like Hip Hop or Dance music, I'd look elsewhere. Overall quality and construction appears to be pretty good. I am not sure if it's the speakers, amp or deck, but I feel a great improvement in localization of sound and great sense of separate tracks and sound layers. It's hard to explain verbally, but the end result is a gentle (not powerful) immersion of sound.

Pros: Voice and percussion are excellent. You can press a small silver button on the speaker to increase volume (+3db). These speakers seem to enjoy a lot of power.

Cons: Base/low end range is poor. However, if you pair them with a subwoofer (I used a 10" JL audio slim box) the sound is perfect.

Bought these speakers as a factory replacement item. With the instructions provided installation was simple. I did go to a local retailer and buy some plastic interior/trim tools which helped immensely. The mounts and wiring pigtails provided allowed easy install and no wire cutting. The sound of these speakers compared to stock are really impressive I am using my stock head unit and am thrilled with these speakers. I listen to rock/metal and these speakers are up to the challenge.

Pros: Great sound Compared to stock

Loud very loud but harsh no matter what eq or amp you have first kappas I've ever hated. Shame on you Hartman you put more work into the looks than the sound what a difference to last models not the kappa reputation I know stay far away trust me you will not like if you liked past kappas. I switched to jbl p series same company completely different sound they have a crossover and vented motors a little less loudness but wayyyyyyyyyy cleaner deeper punchier crisper and blended shame on you Harmon get the kappas back to original form.

Pros: Loud

Cons: No mid bass no punch no clarity no crossover like older models no crispness just terrible all around the board.....

My son and I installed a pair of Infinity Kappa 62.11i in the front doors of his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Ext. Cab truck to replace the factory speakers. The sound is absolutely excellent just using the stock head unit. Our next phase will be an amp & sub to fill in the low end along with a new head unit. First time to use Crutchfield and I am impressed with the technical part of the site as well as the promptness of the order processing. I will be a customer for life!!

Pros: Great speaker the come with all you need to install it. Excellent sound and well built the way Infinity has always built speakers....quality!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the door speakers in my Camaro, also added a Alpine PDR-F50 amp first, then a couple of weeks later added these Speakers after getting the proper adapters from car speaker The clarity and frequency response of these speakers are awesome. I was willing to purchase a more expensive speaker. But thanks to several Crutchfield sales people who continued to recommend this speaker after I called several times willing to purchase a more expensive speaker. I was looking for clarity and the people at Crutchfield nailed it with this recommendation.

Pros: Very wide frequency response and very clean. I was concerned about bass response after reading some of the reviews. With a nice amp the bass is very tight and deep for a speaker this size, the highs and midrange are so pure with no harshness at all. Great Speaker and very durable also. I dropped one while installing in the door on the garage floor about a 12 inch drop and it did not damage the speaker at all.

Cons: None

Buyer beware

Written By Jason, Portland, OR on Friday, March 21, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This review is about the size of the speaker. It is not a 6.75 inch speaker or ever a 6.5 inch speaker. It is only 6 inches, i repeat 6 inches. Which is contrary to Infinity's specs and Crutchfield's own tech specs. What does measure 6.75 inches is the grill that covers the speaker after mounting. I purchased a 6.75 inch speaker, according to manufacture specs and Crutchfield. When i opened the box the speakers looked small so i put a tape measure to them, only 6 friggin inches is what the speaker measures from edge to edge of the frame. So i measured from the center of a mounting hole to a mounting hole directly across, 6 inches, again. I am not sure if infinity changed sizes somewhere along the lines to cut costs, but please beware that these are only 6 inch speakers. Not a 6.5 inch speaker, or even a 6.75 inch speaker. Only 6 inches.

Cons: Under sized compared to all specs stated by Infinity and Crutchfield. Buyer Beware!

Crutchfield response on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 Speaker sizing and fit is based on the frame size and screw hole patterns. The actual speaker has to fit inside of that frame, so they do tend to be smaller than the size category. The Infinity Kappa 62.11i speakers are designed to fit 6-3/4" and 6-1/2" applications, so yes, the actual woofer diameter is less than 6-1/2".

Infinity Kappa 62.11i's Review

Written By Ron L., CT on Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I picked these speakers for a specific reason. I own a modified 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee that is used for trail duty, skiing and camping excursions. It has the stock Infinity system in it and although I wanted to replaced the faulty factory head unit and busted speakers, because this truck is not a show truck, I wanted to retain the original Infinity amp, and only upgrade what was broken, to keep a lid on the cost. To do this I needed to find replacement speakers that matched the factory specs of 2/3 ohms, were able to handle 50 or more watts per channel and would fit in a 6.5 inch opening. I paired them with the Kenwood BT755 HD head unit and when I hit the power button I was blown away by the sound quality. The highs are smooth without being abrasive, the mids are crystal clear and the lows are full bodied without being "muddy".

These speakers, in my opinion as a musician, are perfectly suited for Jazz. The Kenwood head unit has user customizable EQ settings, several preset EQ settings as well as two loudness settings - making this combo a top notch choice.

If you own a Jeep with the stock Infinity system and need to replace the speakers, give these a try and see if you're not as impressed as I am. Of course, I haven't had them in the Jeep for very long so the testimony to how well they hold up is yet to be written here - we'll be sure to follow up if there any concerns or problems.

I give these speakers a very big two thumbs up!! Awesome for the Grand Cherokee!!

Pros: Sweet sound reproduction across the sound spectrum. The tweeters have a 3 db tunable button as well if you need to take down the highs a bit. Smooth mids and solid bass for 6 and half inchers. For my application I decided to drill the doors instead of using the supplied brackets just because I wanted to be sure the foam surround cleared the stock door panels - but the brackets would have been plug and play which was nice to see supplied had I needed them. Wires are screw connected - very cool

Cons: The only concern I had when ordering these speakers was that two stereo shops that I visited in my area said the tweeters on the Kappa's were prone to early failure - so as I said above, the long term test jury is still out. I currently have no cons that I have experienced with the Kappas.

Pros: Solid construction, clear sound. Simple installation.

It was a nice sounding system. Then came a difficult decision of my life that is to buy this speakers, because switching from components to coaxel is not a wise decision to take. Bought this speakers and replace my components and 6x9. It gives you a high end audio experience, sounds great, most importantly sound imaging is perfect. Sound quality is awesome, can hear all the details. Highly recommended for those who want great listening experience without complicated installation like components. Amp is must to unleash this beast. Enjoy music

Pros: Sounds great, natural sounding, good sound imaging, build quality, value for money.

Pros: Easy install. Everything was provided for conversion.

Cons: There was not any step by step directions. You will need a drill to make new holes for the screws.

when compared to the Kicker ks65 speakers that I replaced with the Kappa 62.11i speakers, it was obvious that I had purchased a pair of quality speakers. Sound quality is exceptional, installation a breeze and a fair price earns a five star rating in my book.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these for my 06 tacoma access cab rear doors. Even though Crutchfield says they don't fit they do if you use a different mount. I made one from 1/2" mdf and their is plenty of room left. They would not even mount to the provided mounts correctly so I did not attempt to use them.

I've have been using them for about a month before reviewing them. They are running off a alpine mrp-f300 and paired with myinfinty kappa 6 3/4" components in the front doors. They are very clear sounding even when turned way up. The tweeters are soft and a pleasure to listen to without getting fatigued. Mids and vocals are pretty good but I felt they needed about a one or two boost on the 7 band eq . Bass is good and we'll controlled without being boomy or muddy. They can handle some bass boost on the eq but not so much if you if you really turn it up to their limits. Overall their great and I would buy them again.

Pros: Natural sounding, smooth soft highs and can handle high volumes when used with a amp.

Cons: Not really a 6 3/4" more like a 5 1/2" at the outer edge of the surround.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Replaced Bose speakers in the front doors of my Silverado Crew Cab without any real issues and I'm pleased with the product, the harness needed to convert from Bose, and the tech support. I can't say enough good things about Crutchfield, I've been a customer over 20 years and always get great products, advise, and tech support. Thank you.

Pros: Great sound and easy for me to install.

Cons: Could be an issue for a novice without tools and mechanical ability to install correctly.

Great speakers. Big difference from factory. After installing these puppies I had to buy the Kappa 6X9's too.

Pros: Handles highs very good. Great quality for the price.

Cons: Little difficult to get use to the Audio Settings. I had to tweek it a little to get rid of distortion pass 28 on volume. Now I can blast it and it won't even show signs of distortion this think is loud.

Got the speakers a few weeks ago, installed perfectly in my 03 Saturn ion. The sound is way better than the stock speakers. Handles lows pretty well and the highs sound nice and crisp. Definitely would recommend these speakers especially for the price.

Pros: Great sound and directional tweeters.

2013 HD Street Glide

Written By brb206, Dallas Texas on Saturday, September 28, 2013

Bought these speakers and installed them on my 2013 HD Street Glide. I have a 140 watt 2 ohms amp pushing them. I bought a set of 5.25 to 6.5 adapter rings. Huge difference in the sound on my bike. I can finally hear the stereo at 75 MPH. This was a major improvement over my last set up. I run a 2 ohms system and these are the best on the market. Lots of bass and incredible mids and highs. I highly recommend them. They are well worth the money.

Pros: Great sound and quality. Lots of bass

Cons: None that I can find.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had a busted speaker in my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. Made the mistake of going to another retailer to replace speakers with inferior product and service that borders on suable. I'm not a mechanic type person, but I was so fed up I prepared myself to replace the speakers myself. I did research and found Crutchfield and searched compatible speakers. These got great reviews and have lived up to those other good reviews on here. I haven't added anything else like amplifier; I just replaced the bad speakers. These speakers produce a clear, crisp sound and handles the bass really well. These speakers are better than the stock INFINITY speakers that came with the vehicle. Also want to commend buying from Crutchfield. Their service is second to none. I called with a technical issue while installing and they were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I would buy these speakers again, but would definitely suggest any novices installing speakers for the first time to use Crutchfield.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these hoping to really improve the sound of my stock system. I feel like these work the best with rock music and 80's music, because the mids are flawless and the highs couldn't be clearer, and they aren't overbearing. But i was really hoping for a lot of bass, and i found out that they were lacking. If you get the infinity bass link sub they work in sync perfectly. Overall they deliver great sound for a low price. Highly reccomended.

Pros: Cheap Clear Directional

Cons: Lack bass

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers were part of "phase one" of building my system in my truck. I also purchased the Kenwood DPX300u head unit. The sales rep cautioned me that with the head unit alone and no amp yet, (phase two), they might not sound the way they should since they wouldn't get all the power they needed. Well, maybe they will sound even better after I add the amp, but I can honestly say these speakers, with the head unit alone, and no other speakers in the truck yet, are UNREAL. Amazing clarity, and such punchy bass I leaves me wondering if I even need "phase two". Absolutely fantastic speakers and worth every penny.

Pros: Amazing clarity, bass. Fills cab with sound.

I recently replaced the Original Factory Bose Speakers in My 1987 Nissan 300ZX show car. with Infinity Kappa 62.11I in the front and Infinity Reference 6032SI in rear My 2009 Nissan Altima still has the Factory Bose Speakers in it. When I turned on my music Flash drive today which is the fist time I have played music in the car since the install, I thought somebody had enhanced my music as I was now hearing things in the music that I have never heard before. This was well worth the change and my 2009 may be getting a set of these as well. I am very happy with my purchase.

Pros: Great Sound, Excellent frequency response.

Cons: None

Making me rethink my plan.

Written By mpb, winchester,va on Tuesday, July 09, 2013

I was thinking i need to stay with a head unit that would retain the use of the factory sub in my 2011 Element. Not so much anymore, these speakers out drive the sub even with the factory head unit. I will be purchasing another set for the rear.

Pros: Great clear well rounded sound. Not overly punchy or tinny.

Cons: These are BIG speakers....Infinity calls them a 6 3/4 speaker. double check your depth and width before committing to cutting.

These speakers surpassed my expectations for quality. Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As a long-time Infinity speaker user, I decided to go with these new 62.11s when they went on sale right when I was replacing the door speakers of my Murano. These .11s seem really well made and very sturdy. It's nice that the cross-overs are incorporated into the structure instead of being apart - like in past Infiniys. As for sound - it seems almost like they have multiple break-in points. On first hooking up, they seem muffled, almost to the point of questioning your wiring? But within 5 minutes playing - become much clearer. Then at around 4-5 hours of playing, they reach another level of clarity and seem ...slighter more powerful. Overall, I'm super pleased - these 62.11s were a huge upgrade over the stock Bose! The quality that I like best, is their accuracy and clarity - definitely a layered and precise speaker.

Pros: Awesome - clear and accurate speakers!

Cons: None...

Wow well worth it, bought two sets for my 07 Saturn ion. I put them on a amp, everything my amp can put to them (without going in protection mode electrical issuse on my end) they can handle it with ease nice clear very loud.

Pros: It will be the Pontiac game changer when u put real power to these. If you bought these as OEM replacements they come with everything you would need. If Crutchfield said its a fit it's a fit.

Cons: None, if you put these behind door panels or under rear window decks, do all amp tweaking, tweeter direction adjustments before hiding these behind said panels.

Installed 2 in the front door and two in the rear of my 2013 Acura MDX 2 infinity tweeters and pioneer center speakers and a 10 inch JL subs installed all on where the factory installed speakers . Run them with JL JX 500/1 and a JL D speakers. I can't believe how the infinity kappa's performed. The clarity is just unbelievable and it blends perfectly with my sub and the two tweeters. I purchased everything at Crutchfield with the advice of on of their tech. I couldn't be happier with the way it came. Thanks Crutchfield for the advice.

Pros: Perfect speakers crisp and clear. Clarity is perfect

Cons: None

Product Research

Plus One Woofer Cones: The Plus One speaker cones offer more surface area than other speakers that fit in the same size opening. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The result is greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency.

Formed Glass Fiber Woofer Cones: The formed glass fiber cone material is very light and extremely stiff, minimizing flex. This results in very low distortion and improved clarity.

iCGM frames: The Kappa series speaker baskets are made of composite Injected Carbon Glass Matrix (iCGM). iCGM is lighter and stronger than stamped steel; it retains its shape, even when mounted on uneven surfaces (common in car mounting locations), plus offers exceptional damping of any resonances.

Woofer Size: These speakers are marketed as 6-1/2"; they will fit in standard 6-1/2" speaker openings, but do not use the standard 6-1/2" speaker bolt pattern. In order to install them in standard 6-1/2" speaker openings you must drill new screw holes. If new holes are drilled in the mounting surface of the car, no bracket is needed. If drilling in the car is not an option, the included brackets can be used, which have standard 6-1/2" mounting holes and the Ford non-symmetric four hole pattern. When using the brackets the depth becomes 1.878" and the mounting height becomes 1.066".

Edge Driven Dome Tweeters: Each speaker has a 1" Edge-driven textile soft dome tweeter. An edge-driven tweeter has better dispersion characteristics and allows for a lower crossover frequency than typical tweeters of the same size, which improves imaging. The result is improved vocals and musical clarity. The tweeter also has an adjustable output level, +0 dB (flat) and +3 dB.

UniPivot Tweeter: The tweeter is angled and can be rotated about 315° after installation. This allows you to direct the tweeters toward the listeners, very useful for speakers mounted low in a door.

High-Output Design: The high output 2-ohm voice coil design compensates for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring and extracts every watt from factory receivers, increasing overall system output and efficiency (relative to 4 ohm speakers). The speaker's 2.0-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of your speaker wire provides a true 4-ohm load to your connected headunit or amplifier. The speakers also benefit from increased power when you upgrade the wire and add aftermarket amplifiers, designed to power a 2-ohm load.

Terminals: The input terminals are gold-plated set screws that will accept up to 12 gauge bare wire.

Power Handling: Although Infinity lists the RMS power handling as 75 watts, they also list the recommended power range as 5-125 watts RMS. We've opted to list the more conservative 75 watt RMS figure on the specifications page.
