Legendary sound

Infinity's Kappa Series 693.11i 6"x9" speakers continue in the tradition of this legendary line of speakers, offering rugged construction and impressive sound quality. Once installed, these speakers will bring out every nuance and detail in your favorite music tracks, making time spent in your car seem more like a concert than a commute.

Large soft dome tweeters

If you're looking for natural-sounding high frequencies, Infinity uses edge-driven 1" soft dome tweeters in this speaker. The "edge-driven" design creates a larger tweeter that handles more power and delivers smooth response way down into midrange frequencies not covered by smaller "W"-shaped domes. Infinity adds 1" super tweeters for extended high-frequency detail, producing a more clearly defined soundstage where you can picture the placement of every instrument. A level control switch allows you to adjust the brightness to your taste.

Glass fiber woofer with Plus One+ technology

If you like bass, the Kappa glass fiber woofer holds its shape when the power's cranked up, so you still get punchy and defined bass. Glass fiber weighs less than traditional materials, so you don't need a ton of power to drive this woofer. Infinity's Plus One+ woofer technology extends the cone right up to the edge of the basket, giving you more surface area than with most comparable speakers. A bigger cone means more bass to complement the superior high-frequency response.

Great for any system

These 2-ohm speakers are sensitive enough that you can power them with an aftermarket stereo, but you'll get your best results feeding them plenty of power from an outboard amp — up to 110 watts RMS. Grilles are included.

These speakers were recommended by Conrad, and they are great. The sound is very clean and crisp.

I purchased a set of these and am quite happy. The sound is a huge improvement over the type R's I ran for the past 10 years. My only gripe is the plastic baskets, and my window now does not roll down more than half way

Pros: Amazing clear sound and powerful bass

Cons: Plastic baskets Do not fit in my doors without cutting/hammering door openings larger. Large plastic baskets keep window from rolling down.

These need appropriate power

These are serious speakers that require serious power to drive properly. Most likely any review that gives less than a 5 for performance has been the result of under-driving these speakers.

Pros: Sound

Cons: None

Excellent!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I noticed some people had 2s and 3s as there review scores. I cannot understand why? These speakers are by far some of the best equipment I have bought in the last 2 years. I just finally had a chance to tune just my speakers with an aftermarket amp. It a 600 watt peak amp so about 150x4. So I am not currently giving these beast the power they can handle but if you actually take about a half hour to an hour to tune your system you will truly understand why these are so sexy. I do not recommend just hooking them up straight to the radio, 50 watts will not at all allow you to hear there potential. Anyways hope whoever buys these beast can enjoy them the same as me. thanks!

Pros: extremely durable, crisp, clean, can hear every note type of speaker. Even when your radio is turned all the way up. infinity creates some of the best speakers on the market for those that want the best quality sound for a reasonable price.

Cons: The only issue I had was creating the space for these guys. otherwise I cant complain about anything.

I have been using the same model kappa's for 4 years, I also have the 6 1/2's. I run my equipment hard, and the bad boys have never missed a beat!! Granted I use a pioneer p800prs head unit and multiple amplifier set up.I suggest Either the new p80prs, or the stage 4 (which will be my next) to bring out the true sound these fine speakers provide.

They did fit my 300c with slight trimming of the stock basket and sound great. 2 ohms keep the factory amp at its peak. I have the mopar factory upgrade amp, and it sounds awesome. Only dislike was the plastic basket.

Pros: 2 ohms, great sound.

Cons: Plastic basket

At first I was in love with these speakers I wish I could add pictures to better describe what happened. I was driving home from work and heard a crack. Today I dug into it (02 Bonnevill)e so it was a pain in the rear. The plastic piece that holds the speaker completely broke off in one spot and left the speaker hanging by the rubber. Very disappointed. Installation was perfect I don't understand. These things aren't cheap

Pros: Great sound I was definitely impressed

Cons: The plastic just didn't hold up left my speaker hanging by the rubber now I'm debating what to go with next. Do I dare buy a new one?

2013 HD Street Glide

Written by: brb206 from Dallas, Texas on December 7, 2013

I bought a pair of these speakers a few months ago. I placed them in a set of speaker lids on my 2013 HD Street Glide. I'm running 2, 2 ohms amps which limits my choice of speakers. I replaced the speakers in the fairing with Infinity Kappa 62.11i 6 1/2 inch speakers and I was very pleased with the sound quality. A solid 6X9 2 ohms speaker is almost non existent in today's market with the exception of Infinity. I purchased a set of Infinity Kappa 693.11i 6X9 speakers. They have 140 watts running through them and they sound great. Regardless of any other reviews, this is a quality speaker, lots of bass, mid and highs. At 75 MPH with an aftermarket exhaust system, the stereo is louder than the bike and that says volumes about the speakers I have installed. I don't ride in inclement weather so I don't know how they will hold up. I have however installed a water resistant grill that should help out. So far I'm very pleased with the Kappa 693.11i 6X9 speakers. I've put it up against other systems including J&M Rokker, Hawg Wired and Boom Audio and I think mine is louder and sounds better. If someone says these are not quality speakers, then they are not versed in car audio. The Kappa 693.11i 6X9 speakers may be a little pricy but you get what you pay for, quality beyond belief. I highly recommend these speakers.

Pros: Quality (Enough Said!)

Cons: None that I can find. Solid 6X9 speakers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

cool looking design, has an easy and positive connection for hooking up to your factory wiring once you cut off the flat connectors on the adapter harnesses and put on round ones. Although i would like to know what they would sound like if they would actually fit in the door.

Pros: nice and loud even with the dodge factory junk radio and i literally mean junk radio and that is outside of the factory opening in fhe door

Cons: they don't fit without some serious modifications to the openings and if you don't have the tools to do the modification they are nothing but paper weights plus you have to be very careful with them otherwise you will break the mounting ears off and than they're junk. would be better if they metal baskets instead of plastic

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've been a lifelong Infinity Kappa perfect fan, so it is hard for me to admit that these speakers just aren't that great. They hit the highest highs and the lows border on subwoofer territory but the midrange performance leaves a lot to be desired. They look good and are very well built but the sound quality just isn't there. It was very embarrassing when my installer proved me wrong by installing cheaper speakers that sounded better

Pros: excellent build quality deep bass, crisp tweet

Cons: no midrange poor performance for the price

Features

Plus One Woofer Cones: The Plus One speaker cones offer more surface area than other speakers that fit in the same size opening. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The result is greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency.

Formed Glass Fiber Woofer Cones: This formed glass fiber material is very light and extremely stiff, minimizing cone flex. This results in very low distortion and improved clarity.

iCGM frames: The Kappa series speaker baskets are made of composite Injected Carbon Glass Matrix (iCGM). iCGM is lighter and stronger than stamped steel; it retains its shape, even when mounted on uneven surfaces (common in car mounting locations), plus offers exceptional damping of any resonances.

Edge Driven Dome Tweeters: Each speaker has a 1" Edge-driven textile soft dome tweeter. An edge-driven tweeter has better dispersion characteristics and allows for a lower crossover frequency than typical tweeters of the same size, which improves imaging. The result is improved vocals and musical clarity. The tweeter also has an adjustable output level, +0 dB (flat) and +3 dB.

Super Tweeter: The Kappa 693.11 adds a 1/2" super tweeter to reinforce the high frequencies and keep pace with the larger cone of the 6" x 9" woofer.

High-Output Design: The high output 2-ohm voice coil design compensates for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring and extracts every watt from factory receivers, increasing overall system output and efficiency (relative to 4 ohm speakers). The speaker's 2.0-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of your speaker wire provides a true 4-ohm load to your connected headunit or amplifier. The speakers also benefit from increased power when you upgrade the wire and add aftermarket amplifiers, designed to power a 2-ohm load.

Terminals: The input terminals are gold-plated set screws that will accept up to 12 gauge bare wire.

Power Handling: Although Infinity lists the RMS power handling as 110 watts, they also list the recommended power range as 5-200 watts RMS. We've opted to list the more conservative 110 watt RMS figure on the specifications page.
