Features

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency.

Woofer Materials: Each woofer is constructed from Injection-Molded Polypropylene. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also lighter weight and more rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.

Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.

1" Silk Dome Midranges: Each speaker has a 1" edge-driven silk dome midrange.

3/4" Silk Dome Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 3/4" edge-driven silk dome tweeter for smooth, accurate highs.

Caution for marine use!

Written By Art, Juneau, AK on Saturday, May 03, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these to replace some flat sounding marine speakers. Since my boat is fully enclosed and heated, it is actually less hostile than a car left outside so I wasn't worried about weathering. I like Infinity speakers and these lived up to my expectations; they sound great, far, far better than the marine speakers they replaced. Then I fired up the boat and turned on the instruments. Even though the closest is 3'+ from my compass, the compass went nuts. The compass could "feel" these speakers from 10'+ away, so forget using them in most boats. My truck just got new rear speakers.

Great Speakers!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these speakers in my 2006 Chevy Express Van in the rear doors in 2007 and they sounded great. I also have 4x6 6422cfp in the rear, 6.5 6012i in the front and 2 1242 subs in a sealed bass box, all Infinity. I'm pushing the whole system with an Infinity 5761a 6 channel Amp. They give great mid bass and complete the highs in this big van. With that being said, I installed them in my 2006 Chevy Cobalt LS! They are outstanding in this small car! They give great bass response and the highs are clear as a bell! I also have the infinity 6.5 6012i in the front doors. I bought the factory Pioneer Subwoofer to complete the system. I am pushing the whole system with an Infinity 5350a 5 channel Amp! The 6x9 are well worth the price and perform excellent! I would highly recommend them!

A Job Well Done

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Another job well done by Infinity. These 6x9's do there job, great undistorted mid-range bass. If you want earth shattering lows you should be in the sub area.If you want crisp vocals get some tweeters or 3 1/2. I want the job done, i get Infinity baby.

Best value for money

Written By nouman, Jersey City, NJ on Tuesday, October 02, 2007

I bought these speakers about two weeks ago and I think they are amazing. The highs, mids and lows are all great. I dont know why some people are complaining about lack of bass because im getting plenty of it even though i have connected them to a 100 bucks Sony reciever.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I mounted these in the rear deck of a 99 Bonneville, complimenting a 12" sub. I'm sure that the large trunk helps, but I found the over effect to be breath taking. These 6x9's handle the highs, mids, and mid lows superbly and blend in well with the sub. These were my first Infinity speakers, and I'd recommend them to anyone.

Not bad...

Written By Banman, Flower Mound, TX on Tuesday, September 11, 2007

These speakers sound great for the highs and mids... the bass on the other hand is kinda hollow but I have a Kenwood receiver with the bass boost that works well... all in all I love these speakers.

all you need

Written By John C, Charleston SC on Wednesday, August 22, 2007

I glad I got these instead of the more expensive Kappas, or whatever. Even with the 6x9 and 6" component in the front you need a sub if you want any bass or midrange for any 6x9 or 6'.

Does a great job.

Infinity 6x9 3 way Refernce in the back.
Infinity 6 component in the front
R Fosgate 50 x 4 pushing the speakers
1 10" Alpine type E sub
Mono Visionik V108xt sub amp.

Kenwood 591

This set up was lacking both low and midrange before he one sub and amp. Now it is just right, and adds a lot of depth to the other speakers as well as nice tight thump.

I was worried about too much bass, as I wanted it to sound like a live concert and not a window ac or bull dozer.

I closed the port on a type 2 Q logic.

Great Speaker, Great Price

Written By Paul, CA on Tuesday, July 24, 2007

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these speakers on a whim. Infinity has a great reputation and the price was unbeatable. I have the speakers hooked up to my head unit and I can safely say that they deliver unbelievable sound. I am very happy with the purchase and would do it again in a second.

Buy without hesitation, but invest in a protection plan

Written By Adam, Grand Forks, ND on Wednesday, May 23, 2007

These speakers sound absolutely amazing. I've never tried using them without an amp, but with an amp they are very loud and clear. I have them in the rear side panels of my convertible and somehow they manage to push enough air there for serious bass.
The only reason I did not rate them at 5 stars was because mine actually fell apart right after the manaufacturers warranty expired. The spider came unglued from the basket. I think our extreme sub-zero temps had something to do with it. I did manage to repair, them however, and they still sound great! Buy without hesitation, but invest in the protection plan!

Give them the juice and hear them sing

Written By tony, Indianapolis, IN on Friday, March 16, 2007

I got these running on my Pioneer head unit and had a decent experience. After reading a lot more on RMS output and causes for distortion, I found all the tips I could and the perfect Kenwood KAC-6402 amp to let them clear every note distortion free. I don't even understand how the bass is coming out so pure and just a little above human hearing. Now I'm getting a small sub to round it out. I think turning down all the settings on my eq's to even and setting the amp at the highest distortion free head unit volume and then gain settings made all the difference in balancing the power and signal. I cleaned up the back deck with some dynamat and the speaker's sing with power and harmony.

Great upgrade from JVC 6x9's

Written By John, Redding, CA. on Saturday, March 03, 2007

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I decided to try these because the JVC 6x9's I had were cracking a little and these things are twice as loud. The bass is almost as loud as the Bazooka Sub that I have. Definately worth the money. Now I want to upgrade everything else to match these speakers.

Awesome choice when looking for an affordable 6 x 9 speaker

Written By John, Plains, MT on Wednesday, February 14, 2007

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This 6 x 9 3 way speaker set is an awesome choice if you are on a budget but, are looking for a high quality speaker. Obviously, not everyone is an audio expert, but, you can usually never go wrong with brand name equipment unless you dont do some reading, researching and possible listening first. The most important factor that helped me choose this awesome speaker combo was the fact that it is an Infinity, secondly, It matched the RMS minimum of one of my AMPs that I already had & probably most important of all, I read the reviews on many, many, many 6 x 9 's and chose what best fit my needs. ( All of that said ! ) This is really an awesome speaker, excellent throughout the mid range, nice highs, and subtle lows which Infinity cuts off at 46 hz for this model. I can hear the band & feel it too ! I matched this set up with a Phoenix Gold R8.0:4 ( 75 x 4 ) which isnt exactly matching minimum RMS but, is definently enough to make this pair scream. By the way I am a first time Infinity product buyer, and Im very impressed with the features, the quality, the packaging and as always you can never go wrong when researching & shopping thru Crutchfield ! Bravo to Infinity & Crutchfield !

Highly recommended with Inifinity Amp.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have been a fan of Infinity products since the early 90's while stationed in Japan in the AF. All of my home stereo speakers are Infinity. Knowing how well they have performed, really influenced my decision to go with Infinity for car speakers. I wasn't dissapointed.
I recently installed these 6x9s in my 1987 Buick Turbo Regal along with a Kenwood KRC-335 cassette deck and Pioneer TS-A878 3.5"s. After installation and testing, the speakers with this receiver performed very well. A huge upgrade over the stock speakers and receiver that came with the car. The Kenwood receiver pushed all four speakers to 45w rms which sounded very good. Then I installed an Infinity Ref 7521a amp. HOLY COW these speakers rock with this amp! If you are looking for very nice bass with crystal clear mids and highs, these speakers with the Infinity Reference 7521a amp is a killer combination. Especially if you're looking to install them in an 80's model G-body. (Regal, Monte Carlo, Cutlass, Grand Prix) I give them two thumbs up. Great performance for the price. The SAP adapters that Crutchfield includes when you purchase these, only go on one way and will take some finagling to install, but once done, they fit perfectly.
Thanks Crutchfield.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these speakers for my 1997 Pontiace Grand AM and I found them to be very impressive. I purchased them because they seemed to have had positive reviews and were 3-way speakers.

Installation was a breeze using crutchfield's instructions and speaker harness. The only thing that held me up was that I did not know that I needed a torx-47 bit (the instructions told me) so I had to run out to buy one.

These are fantastic speakers, they are big, heavy and put out a lot ofpower.

I've noticed that they sound better and better - so when you first drop them in (took me about 1 hour to do the job) don't expect them to be as great as they can be. Also, I decided that my factory headunit wasn't giving the cleanest audio, so I ordered up a Sony GTX510 a couple of days ago and Im sure the speakers are going to sound even better! Very pleased at both the product and crutchfield!

Great speakers

Written By Ken, Little Rock, AR on Sunday, January 28, 2007

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently added these speakers in the tailgate of my '89 Grand Caravan. OK, the car's not the greatest, but the sound I'm getting is! They can certainly take all the power my Alpine MRP-F450 amp is giving them (and more, no doubt). Not only do they thump and bump with the best, but they handle the subtle nuances of soft passages and classical music as well.

They went in very easily. You'll have to carve a little bigger hole in the interior panel for them to fit into, but that's only plastic, and the screws lined up perfectly with the screw holes in the tailgate frame. You can keep the factory speaker covers for a stealth install.

One word of caution: These speakers (any high power 6x9 3-way for that matter) are heavy, and if the gas struts in your tailgate are a little old or worn, they may not lift the tailgate all the way with the speakers installed. Oh, but it's worth it!

Great Speakers

Written By Billy, Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday, December 20, 2006

I am running these speakers in a 1997 Maxima from a Pioneer DEH-7800MP head unit with Infinity 6010cs components in the front. The 9613i really have given me more bass than i had originally anticipated. Along with that, I have none to very little distortion at all but the highest volumes with this combination and I haven't even added an amp yet! I am very happy with these speakers, which is good since I had to cut up my rear deck to switch from 6 1/2" to 6x9. The highs are crisp and clean, and the lows will definetly bump. Great speakers.

I am running these under by back window, allong with 6.5 infinity 2-way coaxials in my doors, and 12.1 Kappa Perfect subs in my trunk, so i expected nothing but the best. and actually- the only real disappointment i have with these speakers is that as of now they distort very easily, but that might be because they are fairly new... either way, they distort. i agree with the other person that posted about running a high pass crossover, i began running a 50hz HPF and it sounds much more crisp with less low end distortion. i would recomend these speakers to anyone thats running a mid-entry level system. good speakers

Near Perfection

Written By Steve, Mobile, AL on Friday, June 16, 2006

My setup in my vehicle:
Infinity Reference 5761a
Infinity Reference 5010cs
Infinity Reference 9613i
I am a very picky person when it comes to speakers, the quality of workmanship, as well as the quality of sound. I decided to go with a whole system from infinity, as I had already had their kappa perfect 12.1's before, and knew that they truly do good work. I have already learned the hard way after 5 years of installing systems, that you can not cut corners when it comes to your speakers, and quality of sound in your vehicle. I can not stress how good these 6x9s sound. If trying to decide on wether or not to go with 2-way or 3-way...there really is no choice. 3 way has such a better sound, and for the miniscule amount more, its worth it, believe me. I have heard pretty much everything out there, including competition 6x9s, and these speakers are definately in my top 3 ever heard on an amp. The bass in my vehicle, along with the 5010cs, is more than enough for your average user. My musical taste dabbles into a little bit of everything, from metalcore, to classical, to jazz, to old hiphop, so I can verify that these speakers do bump, and one of my friends told me that he heard the bass 2 cars away (of course with everything turned up...and with little distortion!). I did not try the 6x9s off of the head unit, and went ahead and directly ran them off of the Infinity Reference 5761a 6 channel amp. I am so happy with this purchase, and I truly do anticipate getting into my car to listen to music every day. I would highly recommend if getting these to hook them up to an amplifier to unlock their potential.

Awsome J30

Written By Kenneth, New Orleans,La on Saturday, May 20, 2006

Man these speakers are awsome. I have them in my 1995 Infiniti J30 goes good together huh? So why not Infinti car so go with the speakers. I have the Reference 6.5 in the doors got rid of the cheap bose, have the 3 way Reference in the rear which are be pushed with a Bazzoka ELA 60.4. Also Reference 12s in the trunk with a Sony XM-SD61X. The head unit is a Sony XAVA1 7in widesceen CD/DVD reciever. When you get in the car pure, clear, and smooth sound i recondmend these to and one with a mid budget. 10 Sars five not enough.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bottom line is these speakers are fantastic. They are very clear and very loud and fill in the gaps nicely in my system (I have the 5010cs 5-1/4 components in the doors). I was hoping that the bass in these would curb the need for a subwoofer but it doesn't - possibly because there are no enclosures for these in the deck of my car (92 Oldsmobile 88) so the trunk is effectively the only enclosure they have. They are running off a Profile AP740 (4 x 60W RMS) and I love the high volume I get with them. Besides the lacking low end (which I'm not fussy about since a good sub will do a better job anyway), I am very happy with these.

Classical and Jazz Lovers -- Rejoice!

Written By Mr. Cohn, Bay Area, CA on Sunday, April 30, 2006

Pros
Awesome mid- and upper-range performance.

Cons
Weak bass, even with amp.

Setup: Panasonic 5303U head unit; Gothic Acoustik OV-800 (85x4) amp; 9613i Reference Speakers (front and back)

Most of the music I listen to is jazz and classical. Being used to 2-way speakers in my cars, I am thrilled by the rich mid-range, and breathtaking high-range reproduction. There's literally more music for me to hear, so I'm enjoying all my recordings anew. You hear fuller depth and color of singers' voices, and instruments (esp. acoustic ones) have more overtones. I feel like my car is a rolling concert hall. The first reaction of everyone who's listened is to sit up straight, look startled, and say "Wow!"

The bass, however, is almost non-existent. I had to crank up my head units bass control to +10db to get even a modest amount of bass. That's fine for a string bass in a jazz trio, but disappointing if you want to feel the electric bass and drum kits rattling your bones. I will say that the bass performance is better on CDs than with an iPod (128 Kbit AAC encoding), but fans of hard rock and hip-hop should either plan on adding subwoofers or get another brand of speaker.

The Bottom Line
Jazz and Classical lovers will go to heaven. Rockers and hip-hoppers should go elsewhere.

Good Highs, Bad Lows

Written By Kyle, Wichita, KS on Tuesday, March 28, 2006

I put a pair of these in my 93 bonneville. You definately want crossovers going to these if you like your music loud. These speakers have practicly no bass and get distorted easily when the music you listen to has a lot of it. Other than the bass I'm very satified with these. They sound very loud and clean. I have two subs in my trunk and they sound very nice together. These are worth purchasing if you filter out your low notes.

I installed these in the front doors of my 2005 Toyota Tacoma, along with Infinity 1" silk dome tweeters and 6.5" Infinity Reference speakers in the rear doors. The combinations is awesome, even though I am still using the OEM head unit and no amp. The sound is comparable to the factory stereo in my Lexus! I am very satisfied and I can highly recommend these speakers.

Good and bad...

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Infinity speakers have always proven themselves time after time. However, what causes me to rate this a 4 instead of 5 is the installation in my 1998 Olds Cutlass. The description says that I can use my original mounts and grills and that they should just pop into place. Unfortunately that isn't the case with my Oldsmobile. Getting them to fit properly would involve some serious modification and cutting the rear deck doesn't sound attractive to me. The speakers sound great though!!!

Wow

Written By thenoseknowsall, Buffalo, NY on Friday, December 09, 2005

Wow, I am totally sold on infinity speakers after installing these in my car. Just after installation my sound was crystal clear and decently powerful. I added a 75x4 Memphis Amp and i cannot get enough of these speakers. The highs are crisp, the lows can really pound. Every bit of sound in my car comes from these because I am yet to install front speakers. These speakers with a little help from the amp can show up people that spend big bucks for subs. With my volume cranked as high as it can go without distortion to the lows, even I am convinced that I installed a sub when I was unaware.

Just absolutely awesome. Infinity Rocks!

very nice highs

Written By Josh, Temecula, CA on Monday, April 25, 2005

I love the trebles and mids of this speaker the only complaint i have is the bass response. but i have two alpine subs so i dont need bass response. I would definitely recommend these for people that already have speakers handling the lows because these will hadle the highs excellently. They are perfect for my situation. I love em. Some of the best highs ive ever heard in a car or home setup. But if you need bass response you might look at something with more.
