Get dynamic Infinity sound from a speaker that literally disappears into your room. The CS60, sold individually, mounts flush in your wall, so it won't take up a single inch of floor space. It's perfect for small rooms and other areas of your house where standard loudspeakers aren't ideal, like a kitchen or hallway.

The CS60 sports a true 2-way design with a 1" tweeter and 6-1/2" woofer, so the sound is rich and full. The pivoting tweeter lets you direct the audio towards your favorite listening spot. This clever in-wall is great for stereo music, home theater, or even a multi-room audio setup. And the grille and frame are paintable for seamless blending with your décor.

So far a five star. Replaced five year old Polks. Right off the CS60s weigh about twice as much as the Polks due to the woofer. The attachment hardware is smooth and top notch. Installed with ease. The sound is great and so far so good.

Much more from my surround sound!!!

Spurs Own All from San Antonio, TX on 8/4/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced some temporary speakers that were on the outside of my walls with these Infinity speakers. First of, I replaced the floors and decided to run 4 lines for my surround and pulled them up with a snake tool. I temporarily used some Pioneer speakers that were adequate for the meantime but when I got these I was excited because now the speakers can be flush in the walls. The bad thing was I didn't anticipate some piping that was behind the sheetrock so I had to make a bigger hole, drill sideways through a 2x4 and move the speaker over. Once it, I thought they were set and I couldn't adjust them which would have been bad because 2 of them were slightly crooked. Called Crutchfield and the guy told me the locking tabs would not fall off no matter how far I loosen them. So, i readjusted and the border allowed me to grind down some sheetrock and re-align. these look fantastic and the sound is awesome. I am running them with a Yamaha RXV765. I bought 4 and am running 2 surround and 2 surround back. I put in the Ninja Turtles (2014) Blu Ray and boy these speakers sound awesome! I don't rely on them for bass because I am running 2 powered subs. I can't wait to upgrade my receiver to an Atmos capable system!!

Pros: Great surround sound! Nice look! tight fit when screwing in tabs even though the hole may be slightly larger than speaker insert. Infinity logo is not already on the grill so it allows you to either paint the grills and then put logo on, or leave logo off and have a more stealth look!

Cons: Can't think of any.

Big sound from little speaker

Griff from Rowayton, CT on 6/28/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Using these in an in-wall 5.1 setup and, while I haven't had them for very long, so far I'm EXTREMELY impressed. There is a LOT of sound coming out of these relatively small speakers, including decent bass, which is the most pleasant surprise of all! And so far the only distortion has been occasional vibration from an adjacent wall (the wall's fault... not the speaker's). These speakers feel solid and high-quality right out of the box, probably thanks to the noticeably heavy bass driver magnet. Setup couldn't be easier provided you're decently skilled with a wallboard knife and a screwdriver. I probably would have preferred binding posts to the supplied, old-school spring clips just for added cable security once these are up in the wall, but that's a quibble-- the spring clips are larger than most and easily hold 14-gauge wire (and, I assume, even larger).

Pros: Great sound-- they disappear and easily fill the room.

Cons: If I'm really being a nerd... Spring clips, really? The 1970's called... they want their HiFi back.

Love these speakers !

Joe D from Cary NC on 8/9/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just love these speakers ! This set will make the eighth pair (that 16 speakers) of these that I have ordered and installed. I have them for my main listening and surroundsound, a pair in my bedroom, on my third-floor workstation, and in my living room. I find the sound adequate, in most cases, very good in my main listening room since I paired it with two subwoofers. And for me easy to install. I was told by my wife I could put speakers anywhere as long as she couldn't see them and there was no wires. The speakers were great choice. I was able to paint them and they blend into the walls and ceilings where I have installed them I love the price!

Pros: Prices great and they blend into their surroundings

Cons: Non

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It is easy to install in-wall speaker and it is average sound quality speaker. I purchased Bose 191 at same time and both installed . I would say you get what you paid for. Bose sounds better but about $100 more. It does not have base like the Bose but ok for surrounding speaker.

Pros: Easy installation

Cons: Neutral sound quality for Infinity

They are great in wall surround speakers as I purchased them for my media room for that purpose. Great product for the price.

Pros: good sound, good price, out of the way, not wires running along the floor

Cons: very little bass, but that isn't why I bought them, I bought a subwoofer for bass!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought 3 of these speakers for use as surrounds for my home theater system. I am very happy with the sound, the installation was very simple, and they look very professional and clean in my walls. Additionally, shipping from Crutchfield was VERY fast, and price was better than I had seen anywhere.

Pros: Sound quality, ease of installation, price.

Cons: Slightly larger than I expected.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I must admit that I am being very critical of these speakers. I have I can understand why the other reviewer was very unhappy with them when used by themselves. They absolutely require a subwoofer.Other than that I could not be more pleased. The clairity is spectacular. The tweeters can be aimed. Especially handy with the center speaker above the TV. I am using them for my front & center speakers. (For rear speakers I am using Infinity CS80Rs. but that is another review). These speakers are used for music more than home theater. They shine in both applications.

Pros: Excellent speaker for the price. Clarity is excellent. Easy to install.

Cons: Dispite the extra long throw woofers there is very little true bass. The low end below about 120hz needs help . The specifications for the low end are a bit misleading. A subwoofer is absolutely necessary.

Great Surround Speakers

Jeff from Santa Cruz, CA on 2/11/2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are great rear surround speakers. They were easy to install in our ceiling and have a discreet appearance that was agreeable to my wife. The Infinity dome labels are packed in a plastic bag separately from the grills, so you can choose whether or not to put them on. The tweeters swivel so that you can aim them at the listener in case the speakers don't directly face that way. The sound is excellent for the price.

Jason from Seattle,WA on 1/23/2010

I installed these for my 5.1 surround sound. My room size is about 18x18. I could not be any happier with the sound. If these speakers are being used for surround. You must have an excellent subwoofer to go with to really round out the theater experience.

Disapointed

Dave from NJ on 7/31/2007

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently purchased four of these in-wall speakers as well as the Infinity ERS HV250 Center Channel Speaker for my Home theatre system. I have had these about 4 months now and finally got around to writing a quick review. I am so disapointed in the sound of these speakers that I wish I had listened to them before purchasing. They are thin and tinny sounding. The best advice I can give at this point is to be sure you listen to anything you purchase before you purchase. If I turn off the subwoofer these things sound like an old AM radio (maybe slightly exaggerated).I am playing through a Yamaha HTR-6090 reciever. These speakers have very little bass. By the way, the center channel speaker is no better.<BR><BR>On a positive note, they mount in dry-wall easily w/o purchasing the mounting bracket. Just cut them in and turn a four screws. They paint nicely and look nice. They just don't get the job done.<BR><BR>Hope this review helps at least one person research better than I did?

Best Christmas I ever gave!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I know NOTHING about hi-fi stuff, but my husband is a stickler for quality. After referral to Crutchfield by a friendly audiophile, I purchased the Infinity in-wall speakers as a Christmas gift for my husband. The price was terrific (I DID shop locally first), the shipping was fast, and my husband was completely thrilled. The speakers have terrific sound, we were able to install them ourselves, and my husband thinks I'm a genius!

These sound great!

Doug from Apex, NC on 12/23/2006

Just finished installing a pair of them for surround-speakers in our 22x18' living room and they are plenty powerful. We're also using a pair of Infinity Primus 360s, a Primus C25 center, and a 300W PS12 sub.<BR><BR>Installation was easy using a drywall saw and the provided cardboard template.<BR><BR>Will most likely buy another pair or two for the upstairs bonus room.

Excellent speakers for the price

Russ from Atlanta, GA on 6/25/2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought 5 of these for my den/office. Cracking speakers for twice the price. Highs are crisp and clear. Woofers sound slightly better tuned for low-end rather than mid-range, but a bit of equalisation and a sub-woofer does the trick. The Infinity PS-8 8" 100-watt sub was more than adequate given the size of my office space.<BR><BR>Installation was incredibly simple. Infinity's guides and Crutchfield's instruction guides were spot on and easy to follow. All in all, one of my better purchase decisions.

Cons:

Don't be fooled by the low price tag!

Ty from Gig Harbor, WA on 4/16/2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First off don't be fooled by the lower price tag on these in-wall speakers. There are other speakers out there that will cost you a lot more money that don't sound near as good as these. <BR>These speakers really do sound great, excellent mid-range and highs they even have surprisingly good base response. If these are part of a home theater, you are going to want to add a powered subwoofer to go along with these, (since these won't make up for a 10" 250 watt powered sub.) That is not to say these don't have quality base either. I have four of them in my living room and it shakes my two living room windows! I would recommend these speakers to anyone who wants great speakers with quality sound and is frugal with their money. These speakers are also easy to install due to their remodel tabs and shallow mounting depth. <BR><BR>If you are buying these for new construction, stub the wires out of the wall in the location where you are going to put your speakers and cut them in later. That will save you money on the rough-in kit since these speakers already have remodel tabs on them.<BR><BR>

Mounting Options

Features

Woofers: The 6.5" poly laminate cone woofers virtually eliminate coloration due to cone flexing, resulting in less distortion and superior accuracy. For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofer uses a rubber surround.

Tweeter: The speaker has a 1" pivoting titanium-coated dome tweeter with an acoustic waveguide. This allows you to direct the highs to the location where you will listening to music or watching TV.

Waveguide Design: The CS 60 incorporates a proprietary waveguide design to ensure smooth distribution of sound throughout the listening area.

Mounting Options

Installation:  The speaker requires a cutout of 9.684" x 7.128", with a depth of 4.018" (including the thickness of the drywall). Once the hole is cut, the speaker can be dropped in and the locking tabs can be tightened, allowing you to secure the speaker to the drywall without any extra assembly.

Note: For new construction, you will need to purchase the optional IW6RIF rough-in-frame kit (item # 108IW6RIF).

Paintable: The grille and flange can be painted, allowing this speaker to match any decor.

1 question already asked

I believe so. I use them as supplemental sound to a Bose Acoustimass system for music and they are my side surround sound speakers for television and BluRay. The sound they put out is crisp and has very good bass quality. I have never used just the Infinitys by themselves, but I would say they would make great speakers for rock and roll, especially if they are used with other good speakers. My room is 15ft wide by 32ft long. [ KEVIN P  Jan 27, 2014 ]
Um, not in my opinion as a stand alone speaker. For normal volume rock perhaps, but I find the woofer can't withstand extreme bass fire a long time without distortion [ DREW  Jan 26, 2014 ]
I have them in a 12x20 room. For surround they work great. If you are looking to loosen your fillings they are too small. I purchased two Infiinity P363 to round out the rock and roll capability. [ JONATHAN  Jan 26, 2014 ]
Hi Steve - I've got these hooked to a nice moderately powered sound system in our basement. Overall sound quality in excellent, only lacking the low lows that a sub-woofer should supply. I've cranked our system at least a couple of times and been really happy with the sound. It all depends what you connect them to and how the speakers are spaced but I'm really happy with our speaker set. Regards, Mark H. [ MARK  Jan 26, 2014 ]
I finished 700 square feet and i installed 4 of these. They sound absolutely awesome. I also installed the center channel and sub I owned before. For movies and music they rock. You will not be disappointed. [ BRAD  Jan 26, 2014 ]
Hi , The CS60 is an excelIent speaker for mid to high range listening. I have installed a few dozen pairs and they have never disappointed. However you will need a good sized subwoofer with the CS60 to bring out its full potential for rock and roll listening. Good luck with your decision! Ian [ IAN  Jan 26, 2014 ]
