This speaker is a great choice for rooms where conventional speakers don't work very well. Pick up a pair for full, detailed stereo sound in your kitchen, dining room, or den. For more powerful bass, add an Infinity powered subwoofer.

I am using the speakers as a rear and rear center and they work great. I have had others that did not deliver enough punch, but these deliver

Very Pleased

sjleto from Wauwatosa, WI on 1/3/2013

I am really pleased with the way these speakers sound. I was a little skeptical after reading the few reviews that are online but I bought them anyway. I installed them in my kitchen so I can listen to music while cooking, eating, and doing dishes. I listen mainly listen to EDM, which is normally pretty bass intensive and these speakers can handle it. If I have them loud enough I can get the floor to shake but they do not distort. Just intensify. I have also listen to the basic radio with these and they still sound really good (oldies and top 40's stations).

Pros: Sound great. Good bass and clarity. Easy to install. Tweets can be tilted.

Cons: None so far.

CS80R 8" In-Ceiling Speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I finally got the speakers installed into my ceiling. The speaker installation went easy with just a couple hours before all four were templated, cut, wired, and installed. It might be just my situation, but I'm having a hard time getting a decent bass. I've tried pushing the batt insulation right up to the coil, and I've tried creating a pocket with it, but I'm still getting a somewhat muted bass. This might just be me, but I like to at least feel the bass a little, where all I'm getting is the sound of the bass. I figured with four(4) 8" woofers, it would be able to vibrate my rib cage a little. Maybe it's the fact that my receiver isn't pumping out any bass to the mid's and is waiting for a subwoofer hookup. I'm just not sure. I did happen to contact the customer service team about the insulation, but the person I talked to didn't seem to have a forthright answer about how to install insulation around the woofers. I've done some research online, but I'm getting mixed answers there too. I'm kind of at a point where they are installed, and they produce a decent sound, but I'm not quite to the point where I'm getting what I expected or happy with how much I paid, but then again I'm not sure what the cheaper in-ceiling speakers might of done.

Pros: Zero distortion at max volumes, crisp highs, easy installation, Looks great

Cons: Configuring your insulation for the best sound

Awesome

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed a center channel speaker that would deliver a punch since majority of the sound in a home theater set up comes from the Center channel. I was amazed at the Infinity speaker. Before I even hooked it up to my home theater set up I just connected it to a little receiver/cd combo I had laying around and I was amazed at the bass this thing kicks out. You will be totally satisfied with this purchase. You can not beat this price for the quality speaker you are getting. Thanks Infinity.

Awesome

Bill from Chesapeake Maryland on 4/16/2009

These speakers are installed in my basement ceiling and they sound awesome, the 8 inch woofers almost eliminate the need for a sub-woofer with rich deep bass, and the tweeters deliver clear highs that can be ficused on a specific seating area. I use them with an AV receiver and I am so happy I picked these Infinity's to complete my media room. I highly recommend these speakers for anyone looking for rich full sound in thier system.

AMAZINGNESS!!!

SnarPlaya from Pensacola FL. on 7/6/2007

I have to admit when I saw the price of these speakers I was a little sceptical. Most people would say the more expensive the better... This is true in most cases, but when you pair these "modestly priced" speakers to a decent eq'd amp and subwoofer with a built in crossover you get GREAT MIND BLOWING SOUND!

when I recieved the speakers I set them up immediately. It took about 5 min. a speaker... Once it was up and running I ran a blu ray disc "WITHOUT" the subwoofer and WOW. I was shocked by the low lows the 8" midrange was putting out durring the heavy action sequences; as well as the brilliant, crisp highs of the 1" adjustible tweeters... I of course later added the sub back in the mix and it filled the sound out completely.

I'm running a 6.1 configuration all CS80R speakers with a sony STR-DA3200ES reciever, and the Infinity PS210 Subwoofer... The combo is great!...

I would recommend these speakers to anyone who loves great clear crisp sound...

Thankyou INFINITY!

Features

Woofer: The 8" poly laminate cone woofer virtually eliminates coloration due to cone flexing, resulting in less distortion and superior accuracy. For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofer uses a rubber surround.

Tweeter: The speaker has a 1" pivoting titanium-coated dome tweeter with an acoustic waveguide. This allows you to direct the highs to the location where you will listening to music or watching TV.

Waveguide Design: The CS60R incorporates a proprietary waveguide design to ensure smooth distribution of sound throughout the listening area.

Mounting Options

Installation: The speaker requires a cutout of 9.525" and a depth of 4.139" (including the thickness of the drywall). The speaker frame has a diameter of 10.827". Once the hole is cut, the speaker can be dropped in and the locking tabs can be tightened, allowing you to secure the speaker to the drywall without any extra assembly.

Note: For new construction, you will need to purchase the optional IW8RIF rough-in-frame kit (item #108IW8RRIF).

Paintable: The grille and flange can be painted, allowing this speaker to match any décor.
