Get enveloping surround sound without cluttering your room with bulky speakers. The ERS HV250, sold individually is ideally suited for home theater, and installs directly in your wall so it doesn't take up even a single inch of floor space. It can be positioned horizontally for use as a center channel speaker, or vertically for front and surround speakers. Get up to seven ERS HV250s and an Infinity powered subwoofer for a complete voice-matched home theater speaker system.

This high-performance in-wall speaker features a 3/4" tweeter, plus dual 5" woofers for clean bass response down to 45 Hz. All of the drivers are made with Infinity's exclusive Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (C.M.M.D.™) material. C.M.M.D. woofers and tweeters are stiff yet responsive for warm, resonance-free performance across the entire audio spectrum. It's the same driver material used on Infinity's flagship Prelude™ loudspeakers, costing thousands of dollars a pair.

The ERS HV250 is designed for easy installation. It features mounting clamps that swing out and securely grip your wall from the inside. An optional in-wall bracket is recommended for installing the ERS HV250 in a new home under construction (or in a room that's undergoing major renovation).

I bought this because it had the tweeter in the middle, and could be installed vertically. Love it.

Pros: Easy install, vertical install.

Cons: None.

Excellent In-Wall Speakers

Written by: Mark H from Kokomo, IN on January 13, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These Infinity-brand in-wall speakers are an excellent product. Easy to install (once you've got the wiring run of course) with a great sound and appearance. This sure beats taking up space for extra speakers on the furniture or on the floor. Crutchfield made us a great deal too, so I guess we'll keep buying from them.

Pros: Excellent sound. Excellent appearance. Paintable to match your wall. Reasonably priced.

Cons: I haven't found a con yet. I'll let you know if I do.

Great speaker

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am using this for the center channel in a game/movie room. This is not for my media room though. It has really good sound at a really good price, granted I bought it on a sale cheaper than what it is showing at the time of writing this review.

Pros: good sound, good price, easy installation

Cons: no bass, but that is what a subwoofer is for, and I am using one for that too

Great speaker

excellent speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are excellent speakers and the installation is very straight-forward. The provided template was flimsy, but nothing that couldn't be handled. These speakers replaced some infinity tower speakers I bought years ago and for the most part are equal in terms of sound quality. Bass response is pretty weak though, and your system will benefit with a sub-woofer to add that extra richness. I connected these to the Marantz 1403 receiver, and they are quite well suited for each other. Overall I am very pleased with the sound and esthetics of these speakers.

Pros: excellent sound, ease of installation.

Cons: Not related to speaker per se, but running the wire through the walls, through multiple studs to where the receiver is located, took some work and patience.

Sounds great

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was disappointed in this speaker. They lack ANY depth and tone adjustments
make little difference. I heard other less expensive speakers at a local store and the
sound was much better. Based on the price of these, I expected
they would sound better that the cheaper speakers. I would not recommend this

Infinity ERS HV250

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just what I was looking for. Looks and Sounds Great. Even the wife agrees! Cutting a
12 by 7 inch hole in the wall can be alittle intimidating, but follow the pattern an find your
studs and it will turn out great.

Very Pleased!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I chose the ERS HV 250s because their narrow size would fit the framing space without major wall reconstruction. I have to say I'm very happy with their look and performance. I installed three (front, center & right) along with 2 Infinity CS80Rs in the rear ceiling. For the sub I purchased Infinity's PS210. The install was relatively easy and only complicated by the unique design of my family room. The previous reviewer's slightly negative comment about the quality of the installation template is not an issue since you're only using the template a single time and actually could complete the install without them. For a good mid-quality home theater you can't miss with these speakers.

Great price, clean sound

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I didn't really want to spend a bunch of money on our home theater. My other
speakers are Polk, but Polk's CC was way over what I wanted to spend. This
sounds great, and was easy to install. Having just installed all the Polk
speakers, I have to say that the template Infinity provides was pretty cheap and
flimsy compared to what Polk provided. For sure not a deal breaker but an
obvious observation.

Fabulous Sound

Written by: Rhonda from Dallas, TX on March 12, 2009

I purchased 7 speakers for a 7.1 system. I used three speakers in the wall, and four in the ceiling. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and spectacular sound.

Mounting Options

Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (C.M.M.D.): Infinity's C.M.M.D. technology delivers accurate performance with dramatically reduced distortion for incredibly lifelike sound. Additionally, the C.M.M.D. drivers can withstand extreme temperatures, moisture, humidity and sunlight.

Woofers: The 5" C.M.M.D. cone woofers virtually eliminate coloration due to cone flexing, resulting in less distortion and superior accuracy. For a smoother response and improved durability, each woofer uses a rubber surround.

Tweeter: The speaker has a 3/4" C.M.M.D. dome tweeter that offers superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes.

Waveguide Design: The ERS HV250 incorporates a proprietary waveguide design to ensure smooth distribution of sound throughout the listening area.

Mounting Options

Installation:  The speaker requires a cutout of 13.9375" by  6.1875", with a depth of 3.386" (including the thickness of the drywall). Once the hole is cut, the speaker can be dropped in and the locking tabs can be tightened, allowing you to secure the speaker to the drywall without any extra assembly.

Note: For new construction, you will need to purchase the optional rough-in-frame kit (item 108IW55RIF).

Paintable: The grille and flange can be painted, allowing this speaker to match any decor.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

I have this speaker as both the center channel as well as left and right. I am very happy with the performance although I am not using a full surround sound system. I like the fact I can mount this speaker either vertically or horizontally, you can paint the speaker grill and it has good performance. Hope this helps, coming from more of the opinion of a novice. [ JUDI  Nov 13, 2014 ]
It is a "serviceable" center channel. Once installed, I was not blown away, but was not disappointed either. I wasn't expecting the world at this price range. I can say, however, that the first one I received was bad. The speaker emitted bad static at all volumes. Crutchfield support asked a few questions and sent me a replacement immediately. I was 5 star pleased with their support. [ RONNY J  Nov 13, 2014 ]
This is my exact setup for my 7.1 system and it sounds great in my media room. Enjoy the speakers. [ BRAD  Nov 13, 2014 ]
