No room for speakers? No problem. You can install the ERS 310 speaker, sold individually, directly in your wall or ceiling. It features a flush-mount design and paintable grille, so it will disappear into your room without taking up an inch of floor space. And the speaker's large drivers and advanced technologies ensure rich, room-filling sound.

The ERS 310 sports a 8" woofer and 1" tweeter, both made of an exclusive Infinity driver material known as C.M.M.D.™. Stiff yet responsive, C.M.M.D. offers warm, resonance-free performance across the entire audio spectrum. It's the same material used on Infinity's flagship Prelude™ loudspeakers, costing thousands of dollars a pair. Plus, the ERS 310 includes a proprietary waveguide design that helps disperse sound evenly throughout your room.

This speaker's circular design makes it a popular choice for ceiling placement, but it's great for in-wall use, too. This stealth speaker is ideal for clutter-free multi-room audio, and also does a great job in an invisible home theater setup. Piece together your own voice-matched in-wall speaker system using Infinity's high-performance ERS speaker line.

The ERS 310 is designed for easy installation. It features mounting clamps that swing out and securely grip your ceiling from the inside. An optional in-ceiling bracket is recommended for installing this speaker in a new home under construction (or in a room that's undergoing major renovation).

Very Good Speaker

Written by: tx.jeff from Tyler,tx on April 29, 2009

I have the Infinity Primus speakers series with this speaker as surrounds. They work great! Hear everything just fine and I have 10ft ceilings. They are off 6-7' or so to the left and right of the main positon. They have very good bass. They are very comprable to bookshelf speakers. I dont regret buying them or any of my Primus speakers. However I think aimable tweeters would be a big help for the next improvement .

Good but not ideal

Written by: Titan415 from Richmond, VA on February 18, 2007

I have always had 6.5" in-walls, but when I built this house I wanted to go with something with a little more oomph. I thought it would be okay, since there are two-way speakers like the old but excellent Boston Acoustics A70s sounded great.

I guess the main difference is that the A70s were in a perfectly designed cabinet. In-ceiling speakers, by definition, lack a decent cabinet, and so the results are less than stellar. I got the extra bass I wanted--after filling the cavity with poly-fil--but these speakers lack the clarity of the smaller 6.5" version.

My advice: Face the facts that in-ceiling speakers won't sound like box speakers and go for clarity over bass. Get the smaller ones.

Mounting Options

Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (C.M.M.D.): Infinity's C.M.M.D. technology delivers accurate performance with dramatically reduced distortion for incredibly lifelike sound. Additionally, the C.M.M.D. drivers can withstand extreme temperatures, moisture, humidity and sunlight.

Woofer: The 8" C.M.M.D. cone woofer virtually eliminates coloration due to cone flexing, resulting in less distortion and superior accuracy. For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofer uses a rubber surround.

Tweeter: The speaker has a 1" C.M.M.D. dome tweeter that offers superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes.

Waveguide Design: The ERS310 incorporates a proprietary waveguide design to ensure smooth distribution of sound throughout the listening area.

Mounting Options

Installation: The round shape and flush-design allow the ERS310 to mimic the look of a recessed lighting fixture. This speaker requires a cutout of 9.538", with a depth of 4.333" (including the thickness of the drywall). Once the hole is cut, the speaker can be dropped in and the locking tabs can be tightened, allowing you to secure the speaker to the drywall without any extra assembly.

Note: For new construction, you will need to purchase the optional rough-in-frame kit (item 108IW8RRIF).

Paintable: The grille and flange can be painted, allowing this speaker to match any decor.
