Each shielded satellite sports two low-distortion C.M.M.D. (Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm™) drivers — a 3/4" tweeter and a 4" midrange — for perfectly integrated sound across the front and surround channels. The versatile base of each satellite serves as either a stand for shelf placement, or an ingenious wall-mount. An optional TV bracket (see "Accessories") gives you a third placement option for the front satellite pair. The shielded center channel speaker flanks the same 3/4" tweeter with dual 4" C.M.M.D. midranges, in a gracefully curved cabinet that sits comfortably above or below your TV.
The subwoofer lends serious low-frequency thunder to the proceedings with its 300-watt (RMS) amplifier and 12" C.M.M.D. woofer. Components: The Infinity Modulus Home Theater speaker system consists of four identical video-shielded satellites (MS-1), a matching video-shielded center channel (MCC-1), and a 12" powered subwoofer (MSW-1). All speakers are perfectly timbre matched. The four satellites and center channel are two way acoustic suspension speakers in a composite enclosure with brushed metal accents. The satellites also have matching brushed metal stands/wall mounting brackets. The subwoofer is front firing and has a downward facing port.
CMMD: The Modulus system uses Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragms, CMMD. The light but rigid properties of these drivers deliver accurate musical reproduction, eliminating coloration due to cone breakup and dramatically reducing distortion. The CMMD drivers also don't tend to deteriorate when exposed to moisture, sunlight, or extreme temperature.
RABOS: The powered subwoofer includes Infinity's Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System (RABOS). RABOS is a single band parametric equalizer with adjustable level, center frequency, and width designed to tame any problematic room-bass resonances below 80Hz.
RABOS Kit: The RABOS kit is used to adjust the RABOS circuit on the subwoofer for optimizing the bass response in any given room. Included are the RABOS sound-level meter, test CD, instructions (in CD jewel box), sheet with 6 measurement templates to plot the room's acoustics, adjustment key for use with Infinity RABOS-equipped loudspeakers (small screwdriver), plastic width selector, 9V alkaline battery, and fabric carrying case with Infinity logo.
Satellite Mounting: The four satellite speakers have combination stand/brackets that allow them to be placed on any flat surface or mounted to a wall. When wall mounted, the bracket is adjustable and the speaker can be swiveled left or right +/- 75 degrees (approximate), tilted slightly up, or tilted down about 45 degrees.
Wall Mount Template: Each wall mounting bracket has a mounting plate that mounts to the wall, then the rest of the bracket bolts to the plate once it's mounted. There is also a template with a built-in level to easily mount the plate so that the speaker is level.
Auto Power On/Off: The power to the subwoofer amplifier automatically turns on when it senses a program signal and turns off when no signal is present for about ten minutes.
