Good Surrounds
Written By
kwanglog, Chapel Hill on Tuesday, January 26, 2010
Use them as rear surrounds with P362 and PC350. Quite satisfied. May try them out
as fronts in a smaller room in the near future.

Infinity P162
Written By
Collin, Kansas on Tuesday, December 29, 2009
I purchased the P162's to replace my surround speakers that always seemed to
sound a bit "thin" and just couldn't reproduce the low tones needed for a home
theater system. These are quite the upgrade; I can't believe the sound that comes
out of these speakers. I use them primarily as home theater surrounds but they
also sound great with stereo music.
For a two-way bookshelf speaker, they have very full range and clarity. If you plan
on using these primarily as stereo speakers and still want to hear/feel the lows,
I would strongly recommend a subwoofer. I listened with and without a sub; with
the subwoofer they sound like full-size speakers.
The depth of the cabinet is the only real negative aspect I can find; if you have them
against a wall as surrounds, they stick out quite a bit. Considering how good they
sound, I can let a bit of obtrusiveness slide. If you have the space, they are certainly
a great-sounding speaker for the money. I read several expert reviews before
purchasing and they all said the same thing; for the price (or even twice the price),
you won't find a better speaker. I would recommend these speakers to anyone.

Working fine

I give these a four because to my ears the sound doesn't fill my modest living room-dining room quite the way I had hoped for. But I like the quality of the sound, the size of the box and its unassuming look.

great value
Written By

I'm not much of an audiophile so my opinion isn't worth much but they sound pretty good to me. For me they're nice, quality speakers to replace the cheapos I've had since high school. Heavy, good construction, simple but attractive. I went with the 162s because of several very positive reviews in high end a/v magazines- the reviewers were really impressed with the performance for the price (and that was when these were over $300 a pair!). Check out the reviews then check out these speakers.

Amazing Quality, Amazing Value
Written By
Frank, Chicago, IL on Thursday, July 23, 2009
I have quite a few various sizes of Infinity Primus speakers. This is the 2nd pair of P162s that I have purchased through crutchfield (actually have had them for half a year already, but my review for the older ones with the silver grill isn't appearing anymore so why not plug them again?) and Both the speaker quality and price are just outstanding. I have them on about 2-3 hours a day for music (my others are part of my home theatre) and the range you get out of these will blow anything else away anywhere near this price. I would recommend them when they are full price, so when they are discounted as they almost always are through Crutchfield, I have to add "highly" to the recommend. And Crutchfield has continued to be so good with their shipping and service that its become standard and I almost forget to mention it.
