About the Infinity Primus P363
Rich sound from an affordable tower speaker
Rich sound from an affordable tower speaker
No matter where your movie and music interests take you, Infinity's Primus P363 makes an enjoyable traveling companion. The sound is detailed yet balanced, with dialogue presence that breathes life into every movie night, whether you're watching a gritty indie thriller or a lush period romance. Plus, the deep, clear bass adds a nice kick to your action flicks. And it also reproduces your music with robust, enveloping sound, no matter what you listen to or how loud you play it. It's all thanks the combination of Metal Matrix Diaphragm® driver technology and low-resonance enclosures that have made the Primus Series a longtime hit with audiophiles.
High quality drivers for top quality performance
The Primus P363 features Infinity's exclusive Metal Matrix Diaphragm ("MMD" for short) driver technology in the 3/4" tweeter, 4" midrange, and the dual 6-1/2" woofers. These MMD drivers consist of a stiff aluminum core, anodized on both sides for increased strength and rigidity. The result is extremely fast, extremely accurate response, giving you distinctly cleaner, more realistic sound, even at higher volume levels.
Build a complete Primus® system
The Infinity Primus P363 will fill just about any room with dramatic and well-defined sound. Use a pair to create a high-quality stereo system, or add it to Infinity's P163 bookshelf speaker speaker and PC351 center channel speaker to create a stunning Primus home theater system. And don't forget to add the perfectly matched PS38 powered subwoofer to get deep, accurate bass in the mix.

Driver Technology
Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.): Derived from the C.M.M.D. material used in Infinity's flagship Cascade series, M.M.D. features a stiff aluminum core, anodized on both sides for increased strength and rigidity. M.M.D. transducers conduct sound faster than paper, polypropylene, and Kevlar, pushing unwanted resonances beyond the operating range of the transducer. M.M.D. drivers deliver crystal-clear, distortion-free sound from dynamic digital sources, even at high listening levels.
Woofers: The dual 6-1/2" M.M.D. cone woofers offer extremely accurate midrange response for cleaner, more realistic sound. For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofers use rubber surrounds.
Midrange: The speaker has a 4" midrange driver mounted above the tweeter. Like the woofers, the midrange uses a rubber surround.
Tweeter: The speaker has a 3/4" M.M.D. dome tweeter that offers superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes.
Waveguide: The P363's tweeter utilizes an acoustical waveguide to deliver, more even high frequency response, no matter what part of the room you're in.
Crossovers: The speaker features a 3-way crossover system with crossover frequencies at 350Hz and 3300Hz. The crossover has a 24dB/octave slope.
Matching System: The P363 is voice-matched to all the speakers in the Primus line, so a complete matching system can be built.
Connections
5-Way Binding Posts: The 5-way binding posts will accept bare wire, pin connectors, spade connectors, banana plugs, and dual banana plugs.
Mounting Options
Outboard/Inboard Feet: The speaker comes assembled with attractive silver outboard feet. If desired, you can replace them with the supplied, less visible, black inboard feet. The feet can be changed with the use of a handheld Phillips-head screwdriver. The overall width is approximately 15/16" less, and the overall height is approximately 1/4" less when the black, inboard feet are used, compared to the outboard feet.

I'm 57 years old and grew up with such speakers as JBL Century 100, AR 3a and Bose 901. I'm still a bit partial to the Bose series but I can say with no doubt that these Infinity speakers are at least as sweet sounding as the old AR 3a which I loved. You can't go wrong here.
