High quality drivers for top quality performance

The Primus P363 features Infinity's exclusive Metal Matrix Diaphragm ("MMD" for short) driver technology in the 3/4" tweeter, 4" midrange, and the dual 6-1/2" woofers. These MMD drivers consist of a stiff aluminum core, anodized on both sides for increased strength and rigidity. The result is extremely fast, extremely accurate response, giving you distinctly cleaner, more realistic sound, even at higher volume levels.

Build a complete Primus® system

The Infinity Primus P363 will fill just about any room with dramatic and well-defined sound. Use a pair to create a high-quality stereo system, or add it to Infinity's P163 bookshelf speaker speaker and PC351 center channel speaker to create a stunning Primus home theater system. And don't forget to add the perfectly matched PS38 powered subwoofer to get deep, accurate bass in the mix.

Driver Technology

Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.): Derived from the C.M.M.D. material used in Infinity's flagship Cascade series, M.M.D. features a stiff aluminum core, anodized on both sides for increased strength and rigidity. M.M.D. transducers conduct sound faster than paper, polypropylene, and Kevlar, pushing unwanted resonances beyond the operating range of the transducer. M.M.D. drivers deliver crystal-clear, distortion-free sound from dynamic digital sources, even at high listening levels.

Woofers: The dual 6-1/2" M.M.D. cone woofers offer extremely accurate midrange response for cleaner, more realistic sound. For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofers use rubber surrounds.

Midrange: The speaker has a 4" midrange driver mounted above the tweeter. Like the woofers, the midrange uses a rubber surround.

Tweeter: The speaker has a 3/4" M.M.D. dome tweeter that offers superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes.

Waveguide: The P363's tweeter utilizes an acoustical waveguide to deliver, more even high frequency response, no matter what part of the room you're in.

Crossovers: The speaker features a 3-way crossover system with crossover frequencies at 350Hz and 3300Hz. The crossover has a 24dB/octave slope.

Matching System: The P363 is voice-matched to all the speakers in the Primus line, so a complete matching system can be built.

Connections

5-Way Binding Posts: The 5-way binding posts will accept bare wire, pin connectors, spade connectors, banana plugs, and dual banana plugs.

Mounting Options

Outboard/Inboard Feet: The speaker comes assembled with attractive silver outboard feet. If desired, you can replace them with the supplied, less visible, black inboard feet. The feet can be changed with the use of a handheld Phillips-head screwdriver. The overall width is approximately 15/16" less, and the overall height is approximately 1/4" less when the black, inboard feet are used, compared to the outboard feet.

Q
For those who are using these as front speakers, how would you rate the quality of dialogue and conversations? I do have a Def Tech 2000 center but was wondering if these work improve the overall dialogue quality compared to the Def Tech Pro Mon 1000's that I am currently using as front speakers.

Don't know about the comparison but the quality of dialogue and conversations is great.
suzette g  Jan 03, 2016
A
The infinity P363 has very good clarity. I would rate these as very good. I can not compare them to the speakers you own as I have never heard them in a live setting. Just take into consideration the room and acoustics of the room as that will change the sound dramatically, so the same speaker that sounds great in someone elses house may not sound as good in yours.
matthew  Jan 03, 2016

Will match a very clean mid-high blend..Just adjust P363 down a bit and ENJOY,,

I Use them all the time with my tv and the sound crystal clear. I WOULD highly recommend them .
douglas  Jan 02, 2016

Your dialogue comes mostly from your center channel speaker your music and other sounds come from your front speakers but they may improve your sound although they are very good speakers

All Infinity Primus speakers are made in China. Don't let that stop you from buying them. The p363 sounds great for little money.
raymond  Aug 19, 2015
A
You guessed it: China! :). But, I have to say it seems well made and it sounds good. Hope this helps.
james  Aug 19, 2015
A
Made in China. It is interesting that Crutchfield couldn't answer the question. I am very pleased with these cabinets. I have them in a large room (~16'x24') and they definitely do better when the volume is raised a little. To be clear, not loud-it just seems when dialed way down they are a tiny bit muddy. However, now that we have kids I rarely get time to just sit and listen to music (as an activity, not music playing in the background) as I did when younger. I would definitely buy these again. HTH.

Q
I am thinking about buying this speaker to play music on from my iphone. Am I going to have to buy a bunch of wires and set up this speaker to use it for that, or when I get it can I basically plug it in, turn it on, and use it?
david  Feb 23, 2015

A
You will need to connect you iphone to an amplifier to boost the power
luis  Aug 19, 2015
A
You will need to connect your iPhone to an amplifier to boost the power required to run the speakers, which are GREAT by the way!
dale  Feb 23, 2015
A
No, this is only a speaker. You would need to get two speakers and an amplifier (preferably one with AirPlay so you don't have to use a cord from the phone to the amp) at the very least. There are better options if you only need to play music in one room. A quick call to one of the advisors at Crutchfield will be your best way to go.
david  Feb 23, 2015
A
These speakers have no range I am using them for stands for my Klipsch book shelve speakers not worth buying
brian  Feb 23, 2015
A
You will need an amp to control it and also need to buy wires.

Q
Can I place these speakers on their side? My Living room is 14 feet high and the existing Advents are located on exposed beams at about the 9 foot level. They sound great with a couple of surrounds.

Yes
luis  Aug 19, 2015
A
The feet on the bottom are removable, so I would imagine they could be placed on the side instead of the bottom. Or just leave them off altogether.
david  Dec 26, 2014
A
You can remove the feet from them, so I don't see any reason why you couldn't.
stephen b  Dec 26, 2014
A
You probably could but if there in the air you will loose bass from them
jeremy s  Dec 26, 2014
A
I don't have mine on there sides but I do believe you could do it. They are great sounding speakers.

Q
how does the infinity primus p363 measure upto the def tech bp6 as far as sound quality is concerned?
james  Apr 28, 2014
2 answers
A
Though I occasionally measure speakers for magazines, I do not know the Def Tech line. Their reputation is good. I can tell you absolutely that the Inf P362 predecessor to this model (no changes I can see) measures and sounds very good, smooth, properly balanced, accurate, with wide and consistent dispersion. It has won many blind preference comparisons and has been part of a famous and excellent speaker sound research project. (I have and have had no connection to Infinity whatsoever.)

Cloth
luis  Aug 19, 2015
A
Hopefully you have the answer by now.....as I somehow missed this email. The grill is made of cloth. I bought these in July just last year....and believe it or not, just hooked them up for the 1st time yesterday. They've been in storage up until that time.....I really like Infinity. I think they build great speakers. These 363's are replacing an old pair of RS b's which I still have...... My RS b's lasted me well over 25+ years.....and I am planning on having those old Infinities re-built. I haven't even begun to Q my new 363's....I usually like to tinker around a bit and give them plenty of time to settle in before Q'ing/dialing them in....but I can already tell that these are going to be fantastic speakers. I don't understand some of the negative comments about bass....as these speakers provide plenty of it. Not to be judging others....but seriously.....I don't think those people fully understand what a full range of quality sound is supposed to sound like. These speakers flat out thump! In time they'll provide very great mid's and high's to complement the deep bass output. Hope this helped in some way.
