Prepare yourself, these Infinity Primus PR5002is 5-1/4" speakers will change what you hear in your music. These speakers use the increased surface area of the Plus One+ woofer cones to deliver more low-frequency punch than your factory speakers. The edge-driven dome tweeters support a smooth transition from the midrange into the high frequencies to give your sound perfect balance. Infinity also employs special venting so that these speakers run cooler and, in turn, live a longer life in your car.

These highly efficient speakers will make your factory radio or aftermarket receiver shine. And with power handling up to 45 watts RMS, they'll thrive with power from a nice outboard amplifier.

Start enjoying your drive time

Factory car speakers are the microwave pizza of the audio world. They'll work in a pinch, but week after week of consuming reheated cheese and crust with the consistency of cardboard is bad for the soul. Why not go gourmet and start enjoying your drive time? Upgrade with these Infinity Primus speakers and hear what your music truly sounds like.

Features

Plus One Woofer Cones: The Plus One speaker cones offer more surface area than other speakers that fit in the same size opening. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The result is greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.

3-ohm Voice Coil: The Primus Series speakers feature 3-ohm voice coils to compensate for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring and extract every watt from the factory receiver, increasing overall system output and efficiency (relative to 4-ohm speakers). The speakers also benefit from increased power when you upgrade the wire and add aftermarket amplifiers capable of powering a lower impedance load.

Power Handling: Although Infinity lists the continuous average RMS power handling as 45 watts, they also list the recommended power range as 5-75 watts RMS. We've opted to list the more conservative 45 watt RMS figure on the specifications page.

Customer Q&A

6 questions already asked

Q
If I'm using these speakers with a 50 watt rms x 2 amp or just the 22 watts rms from the headunit should I put a pair of bass blockers on them to save them from blowing? I heard once that any speaker except 6.5's, 5x7's, 6x8's or 6x9's you should always use them? If so which ones?
michael  Dec 31, 2017

A
Bass Blocker's can help extend the life of your speakers; and the 300Hz Bass Blocker is recommended for 5-1/4" speakers. However, if you're not using a separate subwoofer (or another set of full-range woofers) the bass blockers may seriously hinder the amount of low-end output in your system. Q
Do these speakers require an amplifier?
bradley  Nov 24, 2017
1 answer
A
All speakers require an amplifier. The one in your receiver (AM/FM/CD player) should work fine for you, or you can add more amplification if you desire, with additional power amps aside from your receiver.

Q
I have a Pioneer FH-X720BT unit that suggest using speakers with 4 ohms impedance. However, these speakers are 3 ohms. Will these work with the Pioneer or will they cause damage?
gary  Dec 26, 2015

A
THey will work just fine. The lower the ohm the lower the speakers resistance, what this means us that your speakers will play louder with less input from your head unit.
pedro  Dec 28, 2015

We installed ours replacing the factory which suggest 4 ohms as well but that is the good thing about infinity they will work. Installed them yesterday and they sound awesome...hope this helps
mary  Dec 27, 2015
A
Impedense should not damage unit. I love these speakers but I also installed them in my work, so I like them and my Alpine had the same "match" as yours.

No
alfred  Dec 23, 2015
A
There is mounting hardware that comes with the speakers, but I would recommend you get the speaker installation/mounting kit for your specific vehicle because it has special mounting and electrical adapters so you dont have to do a lot of modifications.
bruce  Dec 22, 2015
A
No, The speakers does not come with bracket.
hung  Dec 22, 2015
A
The manufacturer does not supply any brackets but when ordering from Crutchfield we will add them to your order, in most cases for no charge.
