Driver Technology

Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.): Derived from the C.M.M.D. material used in Infinity's flagship Cascade series, M.M.D. features a stiff aluminum core, anodized on both sides for increased strength and rigidity. M.M.D. transducers conduct sound faster than paper, polypropylene, and Kevlar, pushing unwanted resonances beyond the operating range of the transducer. M.M.D. drivers deliver crystal-clear, distortion-free sound from dynamic digital sources, even at high listening levels.

5-1/4" Woofers: The dual 5-1/4" M.M.D. cone woofers offer extremely accurate lower midrange response for cleaner, more realistic sound. For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofers use rubber surrounds.

3/4" Tweeter: The center channel speaker has a 3/4" M.M.D. dome tweeter that offers superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes.

Acoustical Waveguide: The PC251's tweeter utilizes an acoustical waveguide to deliver, more even high frequency response, no matter what part of the room you're in.

Precision Crossover: The center channel speaker features a 2-way crossover system with crossover frequency at 3000Hz. The crossover has a 24dB/octave slope.

Matching System: The PC251 is voice-matched to all the speakers in the Primus line, so a complete matching system can be built.

Magnetically Shielded: The Infinity Primus center channel loudspeaker is magnetically shielded for safe placement adjacent to your television.

Enclosure Design

Wood Grain Vinyl Cabinet: The Infinity PC251 features a black wood grain vinyl cabinet that matches almost any decor.

Acoustic Suspension Design: The Infinity center channel utilizes an acoustic suspension (sealed) enclosure for tight, accurate midbass performance.

Low Resonance Enclosure: The PC251 employs a extremely low resonance enclosure, so you hear the music exactly as it was recorded.

Grille: The speaker comes with a removable black cloth grille with a rigid plastic frame.

Connections

5-Way Binding Posts: The 5-way binding posts will accept bare wire, pin connectors, spade connectors, banana plugs, and dual banana plugs.

Color-Coded: The speaker's binding posts are color-coded (red/black) for easy identification between positive and negative.

Mounting Options

Wall Mounting: The center channel speaker has two keyhole slots in the upper left and right corners of the back panel. In addition, two non-skid rubber bumpers are attached in the lower corners so the speaker won't mar wall surfaces when the speaker is mounted.

Customer Q&A

Q
How is the voicing of this speaker compared to the Alpha series?

The cs-355 is the model I bought and returned because the usb input doesn't work with flash drives (thumb drive) as claimed. It treats all of the folders as one folder and not many folders with files as it claims in the operations manual.

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your Alpha speakers. They can discuss voice matching, and other options if these are not a good match.

I have a Infinity Primus Theater Pack that consist of 4 P140 and a matching center with 4'' driver. Do you think that upgrading the center to a PC251 migth make a difference ? Thanks Jerome

Upgrading the center can result in better performance for a home theater (especially with dialogue). However, you will want to make sure the speakers are voice matched as close as possible. I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss in detail.
