Enjoy rich center channel presentation

The Primus PC351 features Infinity's exclusive Metal Matrix Diaphragm ("MMD" for short) driver technology in the 3/4" tweeter, both 3" midranges, and both the 5-1/4" woofers. These MMD drivers consist of a stiff aluminum core, anodized on both sides for increased strength and rigidity. The result is extremely fast, extremely accurate response — you'll hear distinctly cleaner, more realistic sound, even at higher volume levels.

Infinity Primus PC351 center channel speaker

A trio of balanced drivers provide crisp, clear dialogue for TV and movies.

Your ears will thank you when you add Infinity's Primus PC351 center channel to your home theater system. It uses five separate drivers to produce the kind of clear, accurate dialogue and special effects that make movies and TV shows come to life. It's all thanks to a combination of Metal Matrix Diaphragm® driver technology and a low-resonance enclosure, which help this speaker produce sparkling high frequencies and detailed midrange at any volume level.

Driver Technology

Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.): Derived from the C.M.M.D. material used in Infinity's flagship Cascade series, M.M.D. features a stiff aluminum core, anodized on both sides for increased strength and rigidity. M.M.D. transducers conduct sound faster than paper, polypropylene, and Kevlar, pushing unwanted resonances beyond the operating range of the transducer. M.M.D. drivers deliver crystal-clear, distortion-free sound from dynamic digital sources, even at high listening levels.

5-1/4" Woofers: The dual 5-1/4" M.M.D. cone woofers offer extremely accurate lower midrange response for cleaner, more realistic sound. For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofers use rubber surrounds.

3" Midranges: The PC351 has dual 3" M.M.D. cone midranges for full, accurate upper midrange sounds. The mids also use rubber surrounds.

3/4" Tweeter: The speaker has a 3/4" M.M.D. dome tweeter that offers superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes.

Acoustical Waveguide: The PC351's tweeter utilizes an acoustical waveguide to deliver, more even high frequency response, no matter what part of the room you're in.

Precision Crossover Network: The speaker features a 3-way crossover system with crossover frequencies at 650Hz and 2800Hz. The crossover has a 24dB/octave slope.

Matching System: The PC351 is voice-matched to all the speakers in the Primus line, so a complete matching system can be built.

Enclosure Design

Wood Grain Vinyl Cabinet: The Infinity PC351 features a black wood grain vinyl cabinet that matches almost any decor.

Acoustic Suspension Design: The Infinity center channel utilizes an acoustic suspension (sealed) enclosure for tight, accurate midbass performance.

Low Resonance Enclosure: The PC351 employs a extremely low resonance enclosure, so you hear the music exactly as it was recorded.

Grille: The speaker comes with a removable black cloth grille with a rigid plastic frame.

Connections

5-Way Binding Posts: The 5-way binding posts will accept bare wire, pin connectors, spade connectors, banana plugs, and dual banana plugs.

Color-Coded: The speaker's binding posts are color-coded (red/black) for easy identification between positive and negative.

Q
I HAVE INFINITY 5 FOR FRONT SPEAKERS. I AM LOOKING FOR A CENTER SPEAKER TO ACCOMODATE THEM. ANY SUGGESTION? I HAVE A PRETTY LARGE LIVING AREA.

We have a very large open living room / kitchen / dining room combination. We've had this center speaker as part of a home theatre system tied to a new Onkyo TX SR838 Atmos system with Klipsch RF82 reference floor standing front speakers. It's been running for roughly 12 months, and the Infinity speaker blends right in and holds it's own. The dual woofer and midrange drivers gives it enough strength to hold up to the power it's fed without distortion and the performance is well balanced. It goes without saying to make sure you have a sub in the system because this speakers works best as part of a complete system. I would buy this speaker again without any hesitation.

I have this center speaker in my great room. I use JBL towers for the fronts and a Denon receiver for power. I couldn't be happier with the PC351. TK

I am unfamiliar with your speakers, but the Primus PC351 sounds great and can fill a room.

Q
Would I be able to use this speaker as a center as well as the front? I would purchase 3 of them to use in my 7.1 system?

Yes Rodney, you could use them as front speakers if you wish however a more impressive front speaker choice would be the Infinity Primus P363 floor standing speakers. The 363's have a wider frequency response and higher sensitivity rating 93db compared to 91db on the 351's, that will make the 363's louder. The Infinity PC351 was my choice for a center channel speaker, it sounds great. The Infinity P363's were my choice for front and back speakers, after "broken in" they sound amazingly awesome, crisp and clear. Plus the P363's are on sale today at Crutchfield

I would use this speaker for the center channel only. If you have the system turned up and have the bass a little high it could distort the speaker because there is no port for bass reflex. This speaker works great for the center channel though. I had no issues. I watch tone of movies and this replaced my TV sound. It's night and day. I hope this helped.
