Got enough juice? Get an amp for your new sub The Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 10" subwoofer combines a rugged aluminum cone and high-roll butyl-rubber surround to produce slammin' bass all the way down to 18 Hz. The super-rigid woofer cone won't distort (even when you push it hard), but it's light and responsive for remarkably high sensitivity. That means it'll squeeze the most volume out of the power you feed it.

The massive cast-aluminum basket and the pole-piece are vented so the 4-layer voice coil stays cool, even when the music gets hot. Infinity has subjected these subs to the most intensive testing in the industry — 100 grueling hours of performance at their full RMS rating (350 watts).

The Perfect 10.1 bridges the gap between subs intended for SPL and those intended for sound quality, creating bass that hits hard and sounds great. Whether you're planning a competition system or just looking for powerful bass, this sub's ready for action.

  • 10" 4-ohm subwoofer
  • aluminum cone with high-roll butyl-rubber surround
  • massive cast-aluminum basket

Priced per speaker

What's a component sub and why would I want one?

A component sub is simply a speaker that's designed to reproduce bass once it's installed in a compatible enclosure. Think about the impact of a movie soundtrack in a big theater or even in your own home HDTV setup. A component sub can add the same kind of power to the music in your car. And a car sub is not all about the boom that you hear on a street corner (although that's cool too) - you can pair a component sub with your choice of enclosure to get bass just the way you like it, from tight and punchy to fat and loose. And once you experience music in your car with a well-tuned subwoofer, you'll never go back.

Excellent! Performed BEYOND 10" Expectations.

Written By Anonymous, Crescent City, FL on Tuesday, March 06, 2007

I have my Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 matched with a 800 watts D-class amp. It is wired at 2-ohms and is very clean and loud.

I have two enclosures I have tried the Kappa Perfect 10.1 with:

The first one is a Q-Logic 0.66 cu. ft. sealed wedge box. The sound quality is VERY TIGHT and responsive. When I listen to rock I love how loud and "punchy" the bass is.

The second enclosure I've tried the Kappa Perfect 10.1 in is a custom 1.5 cu. ft. 3" ported box I built. It perfectly matches the manufacture's recommendation for box size for a vented enclosure. When I listen to R&B and songs with more bass, it sounds to me like the bass is 2.5 times louder in the ported box than in the sealed box. However, it does lose some of it's "punchiness" due to the box being ported.

I highly recommend the Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 for anyone who wants a sleek, clean, and powerful 10" sub that performs beyond its expectations. It's peak is 1500 watts, and I am shocked with how great mine has functioned at only half of it's potential. I have had mine going on a year now and have had nothing but pleasure and satisfaction from it.

You will not be disapointed with these subs. i made two custom fiberglass boxes to fit in each rear door of my 03 ranger. i am running a kenwood 9152d (900 @ 2ohms) to power both and these things sound excellent. i listen more to rock so i like tight loud bass and these paired with a sealed box=excellent. i have no complaints except like one guy i wish they came with some mounting screws and had a cool grill cover for them. great deal.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've most recently had cheaper MTX and other subs, that sounded ok at best. I got a new truck and had to do a new system, so I decided to spend a couple more bucks and get some good subs. These Infinity's were well worth every penny. I have two 10.1s run by a Pioneer 780W amp. They are super clear, no distortion, and I'm sure they can handle twice the power they're getting. I bridged the amp to one sub, and it sounded great too. I chose the subs, in part, because they were going under the back seat of my extended cab Silverado, and had to be in very small enclosures. They ended up being smaller in volume than reccomended, but they sound great. Great sub for tight spots.

Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1

Written By Matthew, Murrieta, CA on Tuesday, February 06, 2007

I have tried an Audiobahn 12" sub with unsatisfactory results.

I finally got rid of them and got these perfect 10's and am very pleased with the results. I have a mid-sized sedan, a sealed enclosure, and 400Watts running to one of these. Bass hits hard when listening to the right music some frequencies do not hit the inside of the car the way I would like them to, but I may be just too picky. These speakers are made to sound clean, NOT loud. Trust me they get loud enough to hurt your ears, but not loud enough for some people looking to disturb the neighbors. Small amount of noise from the speaker actually physically moving when I am very close to the front of the speaker, not sure if this is normal?

I have tried to include as much negative points as I can for this review, and I have had a hard time doing it. This sub still gets 5 stars!

All I can say about these subs is WOW!!! I got them on the buy one get one free deal and these subs absolutely rock. I have them set up in a mtx box with a Profile ap2000 amp and they are so loud that my review mirror will not stay in the same position. Also they are crystal clear for clarity to which was very important to me. In other words you should get these subs.

Great sounding sub just wish it came with mounting screws. By the way this sub will not fit in the MTX Thunderform box for a 2001 f150 without a little modification.

I got the two-fer deal but I'm only using one. I was using an Infinity Perfect 12VQ that was a bit too big for my trunk because I have the amps and crossovers mounted upside down under the rear deck, so I had to scale down to a 10-inch. The sound is amazing -- I can't even tell the difference! This sub puts out such clean, tight and powerful bass you won't believe it. It's so good one is more than enough. The people that wrote negative reviews on this sub just didn't know what they were doing. SQ or SPL, this one's got you covered. I'm running it off an Alpine MRD-M605 400W nominal and it takes everything I give it. It definitely lives up to its name: PERFECT.

Ordinarily I would have bought a 12 inch speaker for my car, but I decided that my trunk room was extremely valuable and I couldn't lose it. So after some planning, I decided to go with 2 of these and put them in a custom fiberglass boxes that I am building. I've only got one completed so far, and it pounds!!! I can't believe how good just one 10 inch sub sounds! I can't wait to get the other one in and do the final tuning on my system. It just plain sounds good!

Love this Sub

Written By Lee, Boston, MA on Wednesday, December 27, 2006

I've been using this subwoofer in either the dual voice coil or single voice coil for over 3 years now, and I absolutely love them. I've owned Polk, Rockford and JBL subs before, and these Perfects are perfect. They can handle whatever power you can throw at them. They sound musical- they make everything from Metallica and Testament to Stevie Ray Vaughn or Fiona Apple sound great. And at the same time can pound out the Chemical Brothers or Prodigy until your rear view mirrors fall off. I'm no competition sound expert or anything, but I love listening to music in my car, and I think the Perfect sub IS the perfect sub. Get one- you won't be let down.

Fantastic speaker! I replaced a Kicker Comp. 10" in a type 1 sealed box in my 02 king cab Nissan Frontere. I am driving it with a bridged 150 watt Eclipse amp. I was a litte worried about not having enough power but I was so wrong. This speaker is so very acurate and I actually have to turn it down below flat. I listen to primarily early 70s rock and roll and it is just unreal. I chose this one based on the reviews on here and am glad I did.

Replaced my Audiobahn DUB100s with the Perfects. WHAT A MISTAKE!

Put them in a custom dual ported box 1.0 cu each with 300 RMS watts apiece.

The bass was so quiet and soft from the two subs, thought only one was hooked up. NOT a SLP sub for sure.

Expected much more at this price point, not much less. Returned the Perfects and was so glad to have the DUB100s reinstalled.

I just picked a set of these puppies up and they are a lot more then I expected. The bass is delivered hard and tight. I have 2 of them in a Qlogic box hooked up to an Audiobahn 12005DN amp controlled by an Alpine CDA-9853 HU. These subs are worth every penny.

My these!

A very tight accurate sub.

I have been involved in automotive and home audio video sales and installations for over 30 years, including custom, high end home theater systems. I think I was one of the first people to run a single ten inch sub. I listen to all types of music and I like my music accurate, not painful. I used a Polk ten inch db for years powered by a 7th generation, bridged two channel Hifonics amp, (about 350 watts). This Infinity speaker in a Q Logic small sealed enclosure, powered by the small Alpine mono (220 watts) is my best experience yet.

I have one Kappa Perfect 10.1 in custom box with a 300W bridged Profile amp, 2 Kappa 6X9s (no amp) and pioneer 7800 HU. With only the 6x9's they thump good, but turn the sub on, and that deep, clean, feel it in your chest bass rumbles my Xterra like crazy.

When ppl hear it, no one believes its just a single 10" sub until i show them. Great purchase, i missed the 2 for 1 deal though.

I have bought many subwoofers over the years I have had sony, memphis, and I have heard other subs before but nothing like these infinity Kappa Perfects. They really do mean what they say there perfect, no word about it. If your looking for SQ or just SPL these are the subs you want. trust me, don't buy Audiobahn, or kicker, they were the worst subs I have ever heard before, till I heard these high end infinity's the blew my mind away of there SQ go buy them if you r passion is music like mind you want be sorry. They'll sound great with any type of music.

Very nice, crystal clear sound. Plenty loud in my Mercury Sable. Put it in a sealed enclosure in the trunk, removed the 2 factory rear speakers to let the sound through and it is awesome. I was thinking of upgrading the rear speakers, but the sub fills in beautifully. I will probably install a dedicated sub amp later but its running pretty well on the B channel of a Kenwood 8452. Fast shipping as usual from Crutchfield.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these subs about 4 months ago. Amazing subwoofers. I had them for about a month, and unfortunately, one blew because of a bent wire in the sub. So, I returned them and got the Kappa 102.7's. They do not compare to the 10.1's. I found out a week ago that Crutchfield has these back in stck, so I called in to exchange my 102.7's for the 10.1's. I was running the subs with an MTX TC6001. They will still be powered by that amp once i get my subs back.

Perfection !

Written By michael, Nashville, TN on Sunday, November 05, 2006

These subs will make a believer out you also. Small box stuffed with polyfill, mount subs and apply power. It's as easy as that and you will hear some of the most smoothest, deep and accurate bass around. especially for a 10 inch. These are the older version. The new ones, the VQ's have different variables in Qts for different enclosures and can be complicated. The 10.1's are the best values by far. Especially at these deals. Thanks Crutchfield!

I bought two of these units to replace two 10" Rockford Punch Stage 3 speakers. These blew the rockfords way, in terms of both price and performance. The sound is clear and hits hard in my Chevy regular cab truck. These are very efficient, and I was impressed by the build quality. Highly recommended!

Special situation

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My situation was different in that I put my Infinity subs in a boat where the only option was free air and limited power from the amp. I'm truly impressed with the quality of these speakers for the price. I have only about 125 watts RMS which Crutchfields advisors said would work fine in a free air application. I replaced Kicker Marine subs that were over powered even with my amp, especially when the base went low. Not so with the Infinity's, I am very pleased with the sound from such limited power. IMO there is no substitute for boxes but this was not possible so it's as good as it's going to get and I'm happy as can be, especially for the price, good sounding sub!!!!!! Bob

I have installed Pioneer, MTX 3000 and 5000 series and Kicker, and Bazooka component subs before in my time and all of them have never come close to the SQ produced from the Infinity perfects. These currently replaced my MTX 5000's and I had to turn the sub sonic filter on up to 50hz. Now I can turn it off and have full sound quality. Best subs for SQ. I only run infinity in my car so now my system is complete. They hit as hard as I anticipated. I would highly recomend these subs to anyone who is after SQ with some nice hitting bass. Goes deep with no distortion.

I wanted a tight bass from my system. Mounted 2 Perfect 10.1 in separate 0.61 cubic ft boxes running parellel with a Kicker 460 watt amp at 2 ohms. Man, what a sweet sound. I'm not a big rap listener but occassionaly listen to XM top 20. They hit the lowes when you need them without losing true bass sound. I had a single kicker L5 12 inch solo-baric in a 1.2 cubic ft box with same amp, great for rap but had no clarity, can't live like that, have to have quality sound. I believe 1 10.1 would do the job. If you're into quality bass these are the ones.

Fantastic Sub!

Written By Bret, Hartland, WI on Saturday, July 01, 2006

Bought this sub about a year ago for my '99 Xtreme (standard cab). Since there's not a lot of room for a sub, I needed to do something that would work well in a tight spot. I agree with anyone/everyone that has said these are among the best subs out there. The only thing I remember coming close to these is the MTX Blue Thunders. I'm connected to a Clarion ProAudio DXZ655MP & an Infinity Reference 7520a amplifier. I was never looking for "chest-thumping bass", just full sounding music, although I was concerned that my amp might be underpowering my new subwoofer. I was wrong. I have the gain set at about halfway & the head unit set at "0" and it sounds just like I wanted it to. I like the set up so much (I am also carrying Infinity Kappa speakers to replace factory paper speakers) that I plan on taking advantage of Crutchfield's BOGO offer on the Perfect 12.1 for my wife's car. I can honestly say that I don't think there is another brand of speaker I would buy for car audio. If you are looking for a quality head unit, buy Clarion (since Infinity doesn't make one). My first Clarion was in my car when I flipped it 4 times. Then I removed it & installed in my new car. It worked perfectly - talk about a "die hard unit"!! Only two brands I'll ever buy!!!!!

These subs are some of the best I've ever heard. I have 2 of these in my extended cab pick up, and I absolutly love them! I have them in a sealed box, and they are great with every type of music I listen to. They are extremely loud and very clean. I am running them with an Infinity Referance 611a. It pushes them great, and I have absolutely no complaints with these subs. I installed the cheap metal grate covers, and was glad I did. It's so much nicer, not having to worry about a random something puncturing the subs. I noticed a definate change after the required break in period. I would highly recommend thse subs to anyone.

This IS the best sub/quality/value EVER. Period. Hands down. As I was blasting some Black Sabbath before class in Fall 2003, ( and i didnt even have it cranked), my English professor walked by. Later on in class he commented how i had a very loud stereo. Thanks Infinity and Crutchfield! ( Not to mention my old skool USAcoustics 2100 amp) Anyway, this sub was stolen out of my car that January 2004...along with my head unit. I hope they are happy!! I really miss this sub!

Putting this thing in a Q-Logic custom box under my back seat of my extended cab GMC was the best thing I've done in a while. I'm pushing it with a punch 800a2 amp, and MAN, does that thing thump! People have asked me just days after I've got it installed if it's a pair of 12's, and it's fun to answer "Nope; only one 10"

I used to have a pair of JL audio 12's in the back of a Rodeo, and those NEVER came close to sounding as good or as loud as just this one 10.

I listen to mainly alternative rock and classical music. The bass drums, bass guitars, and the cannons from the 1812 overture simply fill the cab with nothing but clear phenominal bass.

If there was a way to rate this at 20 stars, I would've!

I have two of these in my 02 dodge ram quad cab "under the rear seat" I'm runing them with an audiobahn a8000t amp. They are the clearest sounding sub I have ever heard. They are the best of both worlds, you get loud deep bass with a clear sound. I looked at menphis D3's & kicker's L7 These hit harder than both of them if u want a clear tight sounding sub go with these, If you want a ton of distorted bass go buy a sony or somthing.

alright so i ordered sunday and got my stuff today(wednesday), it took me about 4 hours to completely install everything, its clean too. I have never done this before so I was a bit surprised, My cd player went in quick. I ran the power cable through the firewall and along the left side of the interior under the panels and stuff. It was the biggest pain cause I had to take off my left front tire to access my battery since it is hidden all funky. Amp hooked up great, I have an infinity 611a running at 2 ohms matched up to two of these woofers. I only could listen to it for a few minutes but it was LOUD. like i didnt wanna blow my subs or anything i gotta break them in but these things pound. LIke my buddle has a system with a 18inch kicker powered by some crazy kenwood amp, its getting like 400-900 watts i think and my system is definately louder than his, He got his done professionally and paid 2g's, mine was under 950. But yeah these things rock.

Bass is clean and low. No distortions all the way down. I purchased these about 6 months ago, and these are the most impressive subs I've ever heard. I have a 90 cougar with a MTX 801d mono amp and a box from crutchfield that matched the sub requirements. I also have lightning cap (1f) and these babies shake everything and just about make your head explode. I push all my components really hard and these keep asking for more. hint dynamat is required and a really good amp. I had a subpar amp to start out with and it showed. after i installed the mtx amp it was like night and day. also get some really good cables. these like some other people have said will hit some really low notes and will also hit really hard. i mean feel it in your chest after traveling through a rear seat and a sound deadener(factory). I have seen the rear decklid reflector on my car move 1/4 inch outward with these hitting really hard. nothing better out there. buy these and prepair for something earth shattering.

Nice looking sub...Check
Small box...Check
Unreal output...CHECK!
This 10 inch Infinity is simply a remarkable sub. It outperforms my 12 " Kicker comp I had in a 1.2 cu. ft box. I built a sturdy .06 cu. ft. box and man...loud, low and deep. What more could you want? I have one in a mid-size sedan in the trunk facing the rear of the car and everyone who has heard it swears there are a pair of 12's back there. You should see their reaction when I show them a 10" in a tiny little box. Tight little boxes rule! I am crazy enough to purchace another one real soon. You won't be dissapointed if you go with this sub. BTW, I'm running it bridged mono with a 600 w. Audiobahn amp, stiffining cap and an Active Bass Control module. Mount one of these in your car, and hold on! Great on all types of music as well. Be sure to break it in for about a week or so before juicing it to much. You'll love this Infinity sub!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Wow, just WOW. Unbelievable. I installed this speaker in my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee in October '04 in a 0.6 cubic foot sealed fiberglass enclosure which I had been using previously with a different driver. Just one look and it was obvious which driver was superior. It took a while to break it in, but the longer I run it the better it gets. Absolutely no question about the better driver now. It handles a lot of power, accepting everything I have thrown at it from my RF 501bd (#575501BD) stiffened with a Lightning Strike 1.0F capacitor (#495LS103), although I admittedly have the gain set to 2/3 of full. Even at that setting it is incredibly loud and surprisingly full, doing an excellent job of reproducing your favorite bass guitarist's riffs, not to mention the thundering bass drum. Some subs only produce the boom and not the low frequency details; you'll know the difference when you hear it, and this one's got it. I love this speaker and look forward to the future addition of a 12.1 (#108PER121).

Enclosure Compatibility

Curvilinear Aluminum Cone: The curvilinear aluminum cone is lightweight and extremely rigid for low distortion and superior bass response.

High-roll Butyl Surround: The high-roll butyl surround damps cone resonance and ensures longevity.

Cast-Aluminum Basket: The non-resonant cast aluminum basket ensures perfect alignment of the speaker's moving parts.

Flat Uniform-roll Spider: The spider design provides maximum control over cone motion at the limits of the speaker's excursion, and reduces even-order harmonic distortion compared to cupped spiders.

Vented Pole Piece: A flared, polished and vented pole piece is used to provide optimum cooling of the voice coil and minimize turbulence.

1.5" 4-layer Voice Coil and Stacked Magnets: The 1.5" 4-layer voice coil and stacked magnets provide high motor force and room for ultra-long excursion.

Gold-plated 5-way Binding Posts: The gold-plated 5-way binding posts will accept pin connectors, spade connectors, banana plugs, dual banana plugs, and bare wire.

Enclosure Compatibility

Recommended Sealed Box Volume: Infinity recommends a sealed enclosure with an internal volume of 0.6 cu/ft.

Recommended Ported Box Volume: Infinity recommends a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 1.0 cu/ft. One 3" diameter x 10.4" long port should be used with a 1.0 cu/ft enclosure.

Recommended Sealed Bandpass Box Volume: Infinity recommends a bandpass enclosure with an internal volume of 0.95 cu/ft. The 0.95 cu/ft enclosure should have a sealed chamber volume of 0.6 cu/ft and a ported chamber volume of 0.35 cu/ft. One 3" diameter x 10.04" long port should be used in the ported chamber.

Free-air Mounting: In addition to being compatible with sealed, ported and bandpass enclosures, the woofer can be used in free-air applications. A free-air subwoofer is designed to be mounted on a baffle board, which separates two areas of the vehicle. For instance, you could mount this woofer to a board attached to the rear deck or placed in the trunk against the rear seat. The trunk acts as the enclosure housing the subwoofer.
