A powered subwoofer gives you bass you can feel as well as hear. Our customers love the depth and impact their subs add to music and movies. We hear comments like "it brings out sounds I didn't know existed in discs I've watched a million times." Powered subwoofers aren't just for big bass that rattles your picture frames; they can also deliver tight, accurate lows. If you haven't shopped for a powered sub in a while, you might be surprised at how small they get. Look for an ultra-compact model if you want to tuck your sub away under an end table or in a corner. Give your system a serious low-frequency boost with the PS-10 from Infinity. A beefy 250-watt RMS amp and 10" front-firing driver provide bass kick all the way down to 34 Hz. The PS-10 makes a great addition to an Infinity Primus or Alpha series home theater speaker system. And it really fills out stereo music, so your favorite tunes will sound better than ever. The driver is made from Infinity's M.M.D. material for outstanding response, resolution, and smoothness. It's derived from the C.M.M.D. driver material used on their top-of-the-line Prelude speakers. The black woodgrain vinyl finish will fit right in with virtually any room decor. Features Inputs and Outputs Notes Features Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.): Derived from the C.M.M.D. material used in Infinity's flagship Prelude drivers, M.M.D. features a stiff aluminum core that provides exceptional strength and rigidity for clean, realistic low-frequency tones. Amplifier: The 10" M.M.D. front-firing cone woofer is powered by a 250-watt (RMS) amplifier. Surround: For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofer uses a rubber surround. Bass Port: There is a rear-firing bass port that allows deep bass with high acoustic efficiency and low distortion. Gain Control: The subwoofer has a rotary control on the rear panel for adjusting the level of the bass. Phase Switch: The subwoofer's phase switch allows you to control the phase of the subwoofer's output relative to the front speakers. If the bass sounds muddy or unclear, toggling the phase control can sometimes strengthen the bass "attack." Auto On/Off Circuit: The auto on/off circuit turns the power amp on when a signal is sensed and turns the amplifier off and into standby mode approximately 10 minutes after a signal is no longer received. An LED indicator on the rear panel glows green when the amplifier is on and red when the amp is in standby. Low-Pass Crossover: The subwoofer features a continuously variable 50Hz-150Hz low-pass crossover that determines the highest frequency at which the subwoofer reproduces sounds. The crossover has a 24dB/octave slope. Inputs and Outputs Notes Line-level Inputs: The gold-plated stereo RCA line-level inputs allow you to connect the subwoofer to the receiver or surround processor's subwoofer output using an RCA patch cable. If the receiver/processor has a mono subwoofer output, you may use either the left or right line-level input. You do not need to use a "Y" adapter. Note: Above the inputs is a two-way switch marked "LFE" and "Normal". When the switch is in the "LFE" position, the inputs are not affected by the subwoofer's internal low-pass crossover. When the switch is in the "Normal" position, the low-pass filter is engaged. Speaker-level Inputs: The left and right gold-plated 5-way binding posts allow you to connect the subwoofer to a receiver/amplifier using speaker wire.
