Infinity subs have been knocking our customers' socks off for years. Hook one up to your system and find out why. The PS410BK will add deep, resounding bass to your stereo or home theater setup. Its 300-watt amplifier effortlessly drives a 10" woofer for exciting low-frequency punch. You'll enjoy the commanding rumble of movie special effects as well as accurate, musical bass with your favorite tunes.

The key to the PS410BK's remarkable performance is its MMD® driver. This material uses a solid metal core which allows the woofer cone to keep its shape as it moves back and forth — resulting in clear, accurate sound, even with the most demanding music and movie soundtracks. The black woodgrain vinyl finish fits in with almost any room decor.

Product Highlights:

  • bass-reflex (ported) design
  • 300-watt RMS amplifier
  • 10" front-firing MMD® low-frequency driver
  • frequency response 27-150 Hz (±3dB)
  • continuously variable 50-150 Hz crossover
  • phase switch
  • line-level stereo RCA inputs
  • unfiltered LFE (Low Frequency Effects) mode for connection to a home theater receiver's subwoofer output
  • auto on/off
  • black woodgrain vinyl finish
  • 12-1/2"W x 15-3/4"H x 16-1/2"D
  • warranty: 5 years driver, 2 years electronics
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Why add a powered subwoofer?

A powered subwoofer gives you bass you can feel as well as hear. Our customers love the depth and impact their subs add to music and movies. We hear comments like "it brings out sounds I didn't know existed in discs I've watched a million times." Powered subwoofers aren't just for big bass that rattles your picture frames; they can also deliver tight, accurate lows. If you haven't shopped for a powered sub in a while, you might be surprised at how small they get. Look for an ultra-compact model if you want to tuck your sub away under an end table or in a corner.

Features

Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.): Derived from the C.M.M.D. material used in Infinity's flagship Cascade series, M.M.D. features a stiff aluminum core, anodized on both sides for increased strength and rigidity. M.M.D. transducers conduct sound faster than paper, polypropylene, and Kevlar, pushing unwanted resonances beyond the operating range of the transducer. M.M.D. drivers deliver crystal-clear, distortion-free sound from dynamic digital sources, even at high listening levels. The PS410 is equipped with a front-firing, 10" M.M.D. woofer.

Surround: For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofer uses a rubber surround.

Amplifier: This subwoofer is powered by a 300-watt (RMS) amplifier, rated at 27Hz - 150Hz with no more than 0.1% THD. The maximum (peak) power output is 500 watts.

Bass Ports: There is one rear-firing bass port that allows deep bass with high acoustic efficiency and low distortion.

Controls

Gain Control: The subwoofer has a rotary control on the rear panel for adjusting the level of the bass.

Low-Pass Crossover: The subwoofer features a continuously variable 50Hz-150Hz low-pass crossover that determines the highest frequency at which the subwoofer reproduces sounds. The crossover has a 24dB/octave slope.

Note: The crossover is bypassed when the "LFE/Normal" switch is in the "LFE" position.

Phase Switch: The subwoofer's phase switch allows you to control the phase of the subwoofer's output relative to the front speakers. If the bass sounds muddy or unclear, toggling the phase control can sometimes strengthen the bass "attack."

Auto On/Off Circuit: The auto on/off circuit turns the power amp on when a signal is sensed and turns the amplifier off and into standby mode approximately 10 minutes after a signal is no longer received. An LED indicator on the rear panel glows green when the amplifier is on and red when the amp is in standby.

Connections

Line-level Inputs: The subwoofer has gold-plated stereo RCA inputs with an "LFE/Normal" switch. If you have a Dolby Digital/DTS receiver or processor with a low-frequency-effects (LFE) output, you should switch the "LFE/Normal" switch to the LFE position. If your receiver/processor does not contain a Dolby Digital or DTS processor but has a subwoofer output, you should switch the "LFE/Normal" switch to the Normal position. In either case, you may use either the Left or Right input. A "Y" adapter is not necessary.

Booming bass

Written By RonS, Delaware on Sunday, November 09, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This sub accompanies (2) Klipsch RF-600 floor speakers and a Klipsch Reference center speaker. It packs a powerful punch for all sorts of sounds from regular TV to music to movies, without being overbearing. Very nice.

Pros: Powerful. Thumps when you want it to, doesn't when you don't.

Cons: None.

Not 10" Driver

Written By Kevin, Arnold, MD on Tuesday, October 14, 2014

I received the sub in the mail. Got here very quickly, kudos to Crutchfield for good shipping and logisitics. I got the PS410 to replace a seven year old Infinity sub that I really like, but the amp died. My old Inifnity was a 10" sub, the PS410 is not. The width of the actual cone is more like a tad under 8" and the width of the speaker, inlcuding the rubber ring around the outer circumfrance is 9". I am going to use the sub for a bit to decide whetehr to return it. A bit of false advertising by both Infinity and Crutchfield. I expected better of Crutchfield.

Pros: Attracitve, simple design.

Cons: Not really a 10" sub.

Crutchfield response on Monday, October 20, 2014 Thanks for your review. Subwoofer sizes quoted in the manufacturer's specs typically refer to the maximum diameter, measured from the outer edge of the speaker's rim or frame, not the edge of the speaker cone.

Powerful Subwoofer - Perfect for home theater and audio speaker system

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed a replacement for a 10-year old Infinity subwoofer that died and together with Crutchfield advisers selected and purchased the PS410BK. I am more than satisfied with the PS410BK. The 10-inch woofer provides full low end frequency range. The 300-watt built-in amplifier provides thunderous sounds and makes you believe the action of the movie is right in your home.

Pros: Attractive cabinet style.

Cons: None

Adds some bump

Written By Colin F, Iselin, NJ on Friday, May 30, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Although slightly underwhelmed at first, after setting the crossover and level just right and positioning this sub correctly it does what I wanted it to do. I get less of a "push" from this sub, more like it just fills out that bottom end to make your music/movies sound complete. It may just be the acoustics in my room that prevent it from really thumping for me (very narrow rectangular shape). I do appreciate the tightness and responsiveness though. Build quality appears excellent and the sub itself is beautiful. I have it paired with a set of Infinity Primus floor standers hooked up to a Harmon Kardon 3770 HK, overall I am very happy with my system.

Sounds good and very easy to setup. I replaced a 400 watt JBL that stopped working. Thus has a better sound even at less power.

Pros: Good sound and easy setup.

Cons: Won't blow out the windows but has a very good sound.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Let's face it, if you already have a subwoofer hooked up to your home theater system, and it works, why replace it? I mean, bass is just bass, right? Well, that's what I thought before getting this new subwoofer. My son wanted my old one., so this gave me the perfect excuse to order a new one. And who wants to disappoint their kids :)

At 300 watts, this subwoofer really packs a mean punch. The difference between this Sub and the 100 watt Sony I replaced is very, very noticeable. Movies are just more fun to watch when you can hear everything as it is intended for a real theater.

Pros: 300 body punching watts. An adjustable crossover so you can decide how much of the higher frequencies you want to include. Left and right channel inputs, or the option for one channel. The size was just right.

Cons: When your spouse calls from upstairs to tell you to turn down the volume on the movie.

Bought this subwoofer as an addition to my home theater. It does a nice job of adding that extra bass that was needed when watching movies or listening to music. Very satisfied with this purchase, and the reduced price sure was an extra incentive.

Pros: Great price for a Great sound The compact size makes placement easier in tight situations.

Ominous intensity

Written By Craig, Staten Island, NY on Wednesday, December 25, 2013

First let me begin by giving thanks to one of the best online retailers I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

Without blowing sunshine up you know where, Crutchfield is head and shoulders above the rest. From its considerate, knowledgable and dedicated customer service, to its well trained professional tech support team, you have won me over for life!

My home theater is my first stereo purchase in almost twenty years. With the help of the folks at Crutchfield The new system consists of: 2 Cherry wood Klipsch RB 61's placed on Sanus stands; 1 Klipsch RC 52 center channel a Sony Blue ray player and Denon 1913 receiver running the show.

I don't presently have room for tower speakers and decided on minimizing, but not sacrificing the space.

With the help of the Crutchfield dream team It has all come together. Since my initial purchase I have completed my 5.1 surround system with the ominously intense Infinity Primus 410BK. This subwoofer is a force to be reckoned with. It drives my system to the core of heart pounding bass. Not only with movies, but you will be thrown back in your seat by its true ability to take music to a level typically achieved only by subwoofers costing two times as much. I make this promise, you won't be dissatisfied. Buy this subwoofer, and start feeling what bass was meant to be felt like. It was one of the best investments I've made in my system.

Infinity Primus 410BK We are soul mates. You complete me....

Pros: Deep heart pounding intense bass

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

great sub. I'm pairing this with other Primus fronts and center. The sound is great. Happy so far. Crutchfield is super in customer service. The site is easy to navigate; it has good product listing: specs, review, etc. The sub came in a well-wrapped package. I hope Crutchfield's accessory lines are cheaper or at least comparable to other sites so I don't have to go shop somewhere else for wires, plugs, etc.

Pros: good quality: sound great + heavy so i assume it's a real build

Cons: big

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Im using two of these in my home theater setup. They have good tight bass with little to no distortion. I am overall satisfied but they really should have came with speaker level inputs. A good sub for the price. Can easily handle a medium sized room. Finish if good but feels a little cheap (which it is). Does what it advertises.

Pros: Tight bass. low or no distortion.

Cons: looks and options reflect its price. (not really a Con)

Great Value, VERY nice!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great sub, for the money. I own a Pioneer Elite SC-65 and Polk RTi8 tower speakers. I was really surprised by the overall performance of the sub compared to my 8" Polk PSW111 and also my friend's 10" Polk. It seems to have a fairly flat frequency response, which is impressive for a ported enclosure. Clean power and an extremely efficient woofer.

I have put this sub through a full battery of tests with various genres of music and there is really nothing negative that can be said about its performance. It does not do anything badly. Playing some tremendously bass heavy R&B demonstrates it can play loudly without sacrificing clarity. Even at very high volumes, it did not sound muddy. The lowest of frequencies this sub can register are not accentuated quite as much as the higher frequencies, comparatively speaking. However, this is to be expected of a 10" or smaller woofer. The positive side to this is the fact that the amp does not seem to try to force the woofer to play frequencies beyond its excursion limitations. This was proven by never hearing the sub bottom out. I can only assume that either the power handling of the sub is great, or its excursion is excellent. Please believe me when I say I did not take it easy on this sub in my testing, and it stood tall. All music types seem to do very well this sub. Did not test higher than 100 Hz because that is where my crossover is set on the SC-65. With proper tuning and placement, it will perform very well.

Pros: Overall frequency response, clarity, efficiency, value

Cons: Low end freq response could be better

I am using my Infinity sub with my McIntosh MA 7000 amp and a pair of Infinity Kappa 7 speakers. The sub is used for music only and I am pleased with the bass it offers in relationship to the 12" drivers in the Kappa 7. Tech support was very helpful in my selection and hook-up to the amp.

Pros: Did what I had hoped for when I made the purchase.

As always, Infiniti Delivers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have owned Infinity speakers for years and come to expect the best in performance. I was not let down with this product. We have a Infinity 12" sub in our living room home theater setup and wanted more low-end for our rec room. This unit delivers all we ask of it and my wife and myself have commented several times to each other that we're glad we made the purchase, and should have made it sooner.

Pros: Awesome low-end and easy to adjust volume and crossover.

Cons: None.

Sweet!

Written By Al M, Sykesville MD on Monday, March 25, 2013

Bought this over the phone from Crutchfield after the rep recommended this among several others I asked about. Mated this to two Infinity PS363's (reviewed them too). This subwoofer is Sweet! It thumps my floor when a bass drum hits, and it shakes the windows when a low note from an electric bass plays, or when the contrabass violin is bowed, or when electronic bass is synthesized. For my 450 sq ft room, it does the job. Mated with Infinity 363's so I turned the crossover control to its lowest setting as the 363s have good bass themselves. I have it in the corner of the room at 45 degrees so the port is facing the corner. Big sound from a small box.

Pros: Tight, not boomy bass at the very bottom end. Standby power mode, variable crossover, sturdy cabinet.

Cons: None that I have seen or heard.
