My system has plenty of power. Who needs an amp?
You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I listin to tha mad beatz wit this, great sounds good baaasssss! lol jk This amp is good, I drive 35 minutes each way to work. In the week that I have had it hooked up it has been flawless. I talked with the tech support and they said it would pair well with my 10" 4 ohm dvc polk sub, I am impressed it has a very clean sound even at high volume.
Pros: The sound and quality of the amp! For the price this is a steal!!!!!
Cons: It is an older design and is rather large for 2014, but the performance and price outweighs that!
Great amp for the price
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
It fits just perfectly for my 2005 Chevy Colorado Reg Cab mounted under the passenger seat. It powers a 10-inch Kicker Comp. without a problem. And with the optional controller, it's awesome. Highly recommend.
Pros: Great, steady power to the sub. and nicely priced.
Cons: none so far
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Sounds great, Looks great. The only thing negative was that I couldn't get the trim off to access the mounting bracket properly. Other than that ...great amp.
Pros: Good sound. Good adjustability.
Cons: Trim didn't snap off the way the instructions claimed.
Ease of Use
this is one amp that i could not get to cut out no matter how loud i pounded this amp is worth the money for sure. i powered two kicker comps at 300 rms with this amp perfect tones love this amp.
Pros: good in all aspects
Cons: will kill batteries but what car amp wont haha
the best amp for the money
I use this amp for a 12" alpine sub. its an old sub and i don't remember the name of the sub but it works amazingly well. I cant get over how well the sub sounds with this amp. i would recommend this to anyone.
Cons: dont have any
Not that Great
This amp worked amazingly well. Then It started messing up. It would work then cut out. Sometimes coming back on instantly, sometimes staying off for a while. I sent it into Infinity and they fixed or replaced it. It worked for maybe a year. Now it isn't working again, except I dont think I am under warranty any more. It was amazing while it worked, but has a fairly bad life span.
this amp is amazing
it not only looks great but has crazy power for only 300 watts i have it hooked up to a 15" at 4ohms and it pounds id defiantly recommend this amp over many
I love this amp. It is the exact same size and apperance as my 475a. This is nice for looks when both amps are flanking my sub. The sound quality is great and it does a great job pushing my 10" kappa 104.7 sub. Good amount of power @ 2-ohms. Easy gain controls on the top surface make set up easy as well.

CEA-2006 Compliant: CEA-2006 is a new system of testing & measurement methods for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for determining an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured into a 4-ohm load, with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) plus noise, and at a frequency range of 20 Hz to 200 Hz, when applicable. Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4 ohms. CEA-2006 allows consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers on an equal basis. The Infinity Reference 1300a under CEA-2006 regulations is rated at 200 Watts RMS x 1 channel with a 85dBA signal to noise ratio.
Mono-Power Amp Design: The Infinity Reference 1300a is designed with specific features to power your subwoofers with a frequency range between 11-330 Hz. This amplifier is not designed to power a full-range speaker.
Class D Design: The Infinity Reference 1300a is equipped with a high-performance Class D switching power supply, which is more efficient than traditional class AB power supplies, and draws less current from your vehicle's charging system.
Protection Circuitry: The amp features 4-way protection, and will shut itself down in the following cases:
- DC Output: DC voltage is detected on the amplifier output
- Temperature: Amplifier is overheated
- Over/Under Voltage: Voltage at the +12V (Battery) terminal is less than 8.5V or more than 16V
- Short Circuit: Short circuit in speaker or speaker wire
Power and Protection LEDs: The amplifier features a Power and Protection LED on top of the unit. The Power LED illuminates Green when the amplifier is supplied power. The Protection LED will illuminate Red when the amplifier goes into protect-mode.
Input Level: Rotary control to match the level of the preamp input signal
Low Pass Filter: The 1300a has a variable 12dB per octave, 32-320Hz low pass filter to prevent unwanted high-frequencies from reaching your subwoofers so they can play deeper and louder.
Bass Boost: The Bass Boost control allows you to enhance the bass output of your system at 50Hz up to 6dB.
Optional Remote Level Control: The amp has an RJ-11 jack for use with the optional remote sub-level control module. The control module includes a 19.5' cable to connect the remote to the amplifier. This sub-level controller allows the subwoofer level to be adjusted from the listening position.
Preamp Output: 1 pair of gold-plated RCA jacks (amp provides a non-filtered signal for daisy-chaining additional amplifiers).
Preamp Input: 1 pair of gold-plated RCA jacks.
Remote Level Control: RJ-11 jack for use with the optional remote sub-level control.
IMS Input: This port is designed for future Infinity expansion products.
Speaker Output: 4 Set screw terminals for connecting speaker wires; handles up to 8 gauge (16 gauge minimum recommended).
Note: There are two sets of terminals to make it easier to connect multiple subwoofers. The terminals are connected internally in parallel.
- +12V: Set screw terminal for power wire from battery; handles up to 4 gauge wire (8 gauge minimum recommended)
- Remote: Set screw terminal for remote turn-on lead; handles up to 8 gauge wire (18 gauge minimum recommended)
- Ground: Set screw terminal for ground; handles up to 4 gauge wire (8 gauge minimum recommended)
Fuses: 3 Slots for 20A ATO fuses (installed)
