Do you want to hear the details you've been missing in your car's sound system? You'll enjoy exceptional clarity from Infinity's Reference X Series REF-3002cfx 3-1/2" speakers. Infinity uses PEI balanced dome tweeters to bring out all the details in your music without sounding harsh.
The REF-3002cfx features tough polypropylene woofers and durable hi-roll rubber surrounds that deliver strong performance. Each Plus One+ woofer sports a significantly larger cone than speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker's smooth and accurate highs.
You can power these speakers with up to 25 watts of RMS power — they'll work great with an external amplifier, but they're also a good match for a factory or aftermarket stereo. Plus, Infinity comes up with a safe way to get a little more power out of your system — these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your vehicle so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance. Grilles are not included — factory grilles are appropriate for most installations.
Sounds great with RetroSound stereo.

Sounds great with RetroSound stereo.
Pros: Fit in dash of 71 Chevelle.
Crutchfield recommended this speaker for my car, but it Doesn't Fit because (1) the speaker's diameter was too small (2) which made the speaker holes too short to secure the speakers into the vehicle without drilling to the metal. I requested a return shipping. So now, I'm out for a return shipping charge. If you have a classic SL Mercedes-Benz (450SL, 380SL and 560SL), don't trust Crutchfield's recommendation. Go with a 4" speaker with 4 holes and not 2 holes securing feature.
Cons: Too small to fit into a classic SL Mercedes
Awesome speakers. Had to do a little custom work for mounting. Sound is amazing though.
Pros: Lots of power for little speakers! Very clear.
These speakers are a major upgrade for my '10 4Runner Trail dash speakers. Just replacing these and using the bass blockers made the audio system actually sound really good with clear, crisp highs, better midrange, and a lot more bass. Highly recommend these for the price.
Pros: They fit with some modification to OEM bracket. Provide great sound.
Cons: Not plug-n-play because of how the Toyota harness is configured. Not speaker's fault. Had to use plug off factory speaker and wired it to the new speakers so I did not have to cut vehicle harness.
Perfect fit for Center (Dash) Monsoon system speaker replacement. Easy install with included free wire harness. Took about 10 minutes to install.
Pros: Good sound and fit.
Crisp, Clean and Clear vocals, this was everything you said on your website and more. Satisfied.
Pros: Great price, Infinity under promised and over delivered on this speaker
Cons: Terminal wires, a little plus and minus sign would help, its been so long since I installed speakers I had to stop to look it up on youtube.
Installed these in the from dash of my 2015 scat pack challenger and wow what a difference. I couldn't hear the factory front speakers until now.
Pros: Good sound, good price
Cons: Terminals are flimsy, be careful connecting your wires.
Simply put, the sound quality is absolutely incredible, especially considering their size and location (upper corners of the dash). For $54, they are a steal. I did have quite a challenge installing them in my 2004 Lexus RX330. The factory speakers they replaced had a much smaller magnet and were shorter. These Infinity speakers just barely squeezed in between the windshield and the edge of the speaker opening. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get them in the right position to reinstall the factory screws. To that end, I used some sticky Velcro on the tabs and pressed them in place where they felt the most comfortable. The factory grill covers just barely fit and needed to be carefully pressed down in place. Even though the snug fit and the sticky Velcro left little chance of movement, the tight-fitting grill covers made certain nothing was going to move, shake, buzz or rattle. Let me just tell you, these speakers, combined with some basic Crutchfield upgrades for the 4 doors left me dumbfounded. I can't believe how amazing the factory stereo system sounds now, all for under $135 total.
Pros: Sound quality like you wouldn't believe.
Cons: Very tight fit for my 2004 Lexus RX330, but worth the time it took to get them installed.
Installed in a 2013 Dodge Charger R/T replacing the front dash speakers this is the single must do on these cars. The strings and vocals come alive.
Pros: Value quality, and wiring adapters supplied by Crutchfield make it easy.
Was looking to upgrade front soundstage and getting better high+ mid in front without big investment or to much modification to the stock premium audio setup in my lexus 2015 ct , these speakers are really good replacement for the front dash location and show good improvement in quality of audio
Pros: Nice upgrade to factory oem setup, good quality construction
Cons: I wish Crutchfield had the connector for OEM direct connection, I had to "dremmel" out the ones from original speakers.
I used these speakers to replace the dash speakers in my 2010 Dodge Ram with Alpine system. I was hoping these speakers would produce crisper mid to high frequencies, and I am happy with the results. I also unplugged my center dash speaker, and now I can hear separation from the right and left channels and almost a surround sound effect.
Pros: Inexpensive upgrade Easy to install Crisp mid-high frequencies
Major improvement over stock "Alpine" speakers. Great sound quality even at high levels, ear piercing treble.
Pros: Excellent sound. Not made in China!
Cons: I have to replace all the other stock speakers due to the sound quality difference.
I installed a pair of these in the front of a 1966 Chevy Impala. They are power with Kenwood amplifier putting out about 50 watts to each speaker. They are very clean sounding and have a great sound-stage. You can crank them up and the sound doesn't break up. I highly recommend these speakers.
Pros: Great Sounding, Great Sound-Stage, Reasonably Priced
Excellent 2-way speaker replacement for the paper mid-range speaker built into the Bose units in the front doors of C5 Corvettes ('97-'04). Sound quality is excellent, especially compared to the paper drivers that Bose used from the factory. If you are installing in a Corvette, you will need to rotate the speaker some to find the correct position were you will get sufficient clearance for the wiring terminals. Only complaint is that the male spade terminals Infinity used on these speakers are incredibly thin and fragile and you may have to pinch the female terminal on your wiring harness, with pliers, to get it to grip the terminal tight enough. But be careful not to crush the female terminal.
Pros: Excellent sound quality. Enormous improvement over factory front door mid-range driver in C5 Corvettes.
Cons: Thin and fragile terminals. Projection of tweeter may create clearance issues for some vehicles (not an issue for Corvette)
Even though the fit my vehicle app says it doesn't fit the speakers fit fine other then the screen part touching the silver center piece on the speaker but I have no rattle due to this.
Pros: Clear vocals and even puts out some base
Installed in the front dash of my Challenger with 6 speaker system. I like these speakers, they are well made and of good quality. I cant say they produce a great bass because the challenger I mounted them in only source Mids and Highs to these. but I would suspect they would be excellent at the lower end for their size.
Pros: well made, easy to install
Cons: none so far.
Did not fit my 1984 Monte carlo ss dash. The stock grill would not go over the tweeter and fit on the dash cut outs for speakers. Did not even get to hear them. Was shipped quickly and was boxed great and still boxed up. Wound up using a set of alpines I found that I didn't know I had they sound great. So now I have a set of speakers I can't use.
Pros: Look good
Cons: don't fit a 1984 Monte Carlo SS after being recommended by Crutchfield Tech.Crutchfield response on August 10, 2015 Upon seeing this review, our Customer Support team is reaching out to offer the customer a return or exchange for speakers that can fit.
Replaced my factory dash speakers with a set of JBL GTO 3.5", but they had a raised ring and raised tweeter that would have made me cut a hole in my dash panel. They also had a more harsh sound. Put these in and they fit perfect with no holes, and they sound much better.
Pros: Perfect fit in my 2014 Challenger. Sounds great.
Cons: None yet.
Replace factory speakers on my dodge what a difference very clear sound
Pros: Great sound
Just installed these in the dash of my new Mazda CX-9 and what a difference! Took about 20 minutes.
Pros: Fantastic mids and highs.
Cons: No connectors for Mazda.
Replaced center dash 3.5" OEM Alpine speaker in my 2014 Dodge Durango with this Infinity REF-3002cfx. It was a good fit, and the sound quality is excellent. This is still using the stock Alpine head unit and Amp. I would highly recommend this speaker as an upgrade over OEM.
Pros: Easy install for great sound over OEM Alpine speaker
Clean and crisp. Much needed upgrade to my factory set.
Pros: Clean,crisp and tight
Perfect fit,great sound
Pros: Speakers are a perfect fit no cutting or drilling for the dash on a 2013 dodge challenger rt sound group 2
I have a 2014 Dodge ram with Alpine performance sound system. Over all i am happy with the system. I only wanted to change out the 3 dash speakers to improve the highs a little bit. The factory Alpine amp channels are 2 ohm impedence so I was looking for speakers that would work well with the factory amp and not suffer significant volume loss. I chose between these and JBL speakers as they were the only ones available at less than 4 ohms. These fit perfectly in the factory locations with no modifications needed. The supplied wire harnesses made installation very easy. The speakers perform as expected based on the other reviews I read. Nice sound at low and full volume.
Pros: Great fit in factory location. Nice clean sound at all volume levels. Good quality materials that should last.
Cons: Maybe the slightest loss in volume but barely noticeable from the factory 2 ohm speakers.
Replaced front 3 speakers in Ram2500 with Alpine factory system. Really woke up the clarity and soundstage. Would highly recommend as an upgrade.
Pros: Great sound, good price
Great fit. Sound quality is definitely way better than any factory 80's speakers.
Probably the single best upgrade you can perform, to help out the lackluster sound of the factory Alpine system. Seriously, the stock system has got to be one of the all-time worst sounding 'premium branded' systems in automotive history. These simple replacements are probably the easiest drop-in replacements you could imagine, and you'll gain articulate highs, improved soundstaging, and will find that your audio will sound how you probably thought it should've sounded from the factory.
Pros: Easy install Sweet, detailed highs
Huge difference in front stage. Replaced dash speakers and woke up the muddy sound.
Pros: Clear sound. Easy install.
These are excellent speakers. I was going to buy a pair and replace the 3.5 inch speakers on dash in my 2015 Colorado. I already had an extra one from when I used a single speaker for a mid dash speaker on a previous vehicle so I tried to see if they would fit. Contrary to Crutchfield, these speakers do not fit the 2015 Colorado/Canyon with out doing some major carving up of your dash panel. The magnet will not even fit into the cavity on the dash without heavy modifications. Crutchfield, please revisit this recommendation. Great speakers but not a fit for my vehicle.
Pros: Great speakers for size.
Cons: Do not fit stock unmodified dash.
Installed these with the help of a crutchfield advisor. Website said they wouldn't fit 2006 dodge magnum with Boston Acoustic setup. Measurement within 1/100th of an inch.
Pros: Fits dash 06 magnum RT. Sounds amazing from rock, to oldschool hip hop sounds fantastic!
Perfect replacement for your gen 4 ram.
These are 3 ohms so they work great in the Dodge Ram setups with the Alpine system. Easy swap..
Pros: SOund is perfect treble now set to 5 and its VERY clear
Great speakers with great clear sound. For the price it's a great balance of sound and value. I didn't do components and I am totally happy. Just make sure you balance your system. I put these in the dash of my 2009 FJ Cruiser. Requires a little trimming to fit but love the sound. I have 2 6 1/2" Infinity References pushed by 800 watts and a Polk MM 10" by a Roxkford Prime 500 watt mono amp. .
Pros: Sound quality bass for such small speakers - good mid range
I put these in my 2014 Dodge Dart to replace the factory speakers. First off they sound way too bright, the treble is way too much even with the treble control turned all the way down on the head unit. In my opinion the frequency cut off for the tweeter needs to be at a higher point, not sure where they are cutting it off with the factory cap. The Vocals seem harsh too, not very lifelike. I returned these speakers and got the JBL gto329's and the vocals sound much better but even on these speakers the treble is too much. I am going to probably going to go back to the factory speakers which sound great, just wanted more treble, and probably add on some separate tweets with a crossover and I might have a little more control over how they sound.
Pros: They fit.
Cons: Too harsh, Too bright.
My truck was supposed to have 7 speakers and only had four. These really brought the front portion to life.
Pros: Amazing sound, crisp and clean.
I have these in the front center of the dash in my 72 Charger. Amazing speakers, fullness of sound and they can handle quite a bit of power when using the high pass filter. They rock.
Pros: Great sound in a small package
Good sound quality and a small package. Very pleased with the outcome. Installed in my 2011 suburban in about 90 minutes.
Pros: Sound quality. Price. Size. If I had it to do over again I would buy the exact same speakers.
Cons: Had to trim the backside of the plastic trim piece to install. Not really anyone's fault just something to think about if you're going to buy these for suburban.
Don't let the size fool you. The sound qualities of these speakers are night and day better than the so called "Premium Alpine System that came with the car. Clarity and proper sound is what these speakers bought to my Dodge Charger. This was money well spent for sure. Also a special thanks to my product advisor from Crutchfield for all of his help. If you are looking for some proper 3 ½ speakers don't hesitate to buy these.
Pros: Solid build, huge magnet, great tweeter. Speaker just reeks high quality.
What an Upgrade from factory speakers! Amazing difference. Now I am excited about upgrading other speakers as well. Thanks Crutchfield!
Pros: Amazing sound improvement
Cons: Didn't have factory connectors but easily solved with solder and a bit of wire. No biggie.
Switched dash speakers on 2012 Ram ... Big difference !!!! I finally can hear music from dash
Pros: Easy install and great quality ... Sounds great
I bought these because one of my front speakers blew in my truck. I was happy with the sound of my Alpine system before one blew, I'm not an expert on speakers, but these speakers definitely made it sound even better. Installation was a snap with the provided gear from Crutchfield. 100% recommended.
Perfect fit in the stock location in dash of my Olds G-body.
Pros: Easy to install into the stock location and great sound quality that compliments my components.
recently purchased these to replace the factory speakers in the dash of my 2011 dodge ram. they made a huge difference and i am quite happy with them
Pros: good price , easy to install, sound great
Cons: the speaker wire adaptors are very hard to slide onto the speakers.
Very nice speakers for the dash of the 2014 Ram to replace the Alpine system speakers. I recommend changing at least the left and right front dash and rear door speakers with a good 6x9. The front doors are NOT worth replacing since there is almost no improvement from any replacement due to receiver/amp controlled crossovers.
Pros: Great fit
I installed these in my Ram 1500 dash, replacing the factory speakers. I can actually hear the front speakers now! These little guys cost a little bit more, but it's worth it. Great tweeters and even a little nice soft bass coming from them. Highly recommend.
Pros: Sound great, nice tweeter and even a little bass.
Cons: None I can think of.
Very good sound upgrade for price. They need an amp to supplement power from Kenwood receiver. Crutch field adapter kit was perfect for quick install. I will solder the speaker leads when I get more time.
Pros: Perfect fit for 91 mustang convertible dash
Cons: I would recommend sound barrier when installing in older model cars.
These two way speakers have really opened up the sound stage compared to the factory tweeters in the dash of our 2009 Mazda Cx-9. Installation wasn't bad but sure would've been simpler with a dedicated wiring harness to attach to the factory speaker connectors. Overall these were a good buy and I highly recommend them.
I installed these in the rear doors of my 2012 Chrysler 300S with the so-called "Beats by Dr Dre" system. I say so-called because the speakers are the exact same ones Chrysler uses in its 2011+ 300/Dodge Charger Alpine audio systems and they are not impressive. They sound much clearer than the originals and I can even feel a little bass from them! Which is something you do NOT get from the factory 3.5" speakers. One thing to note is that in the 300 and Charger, these may fit just fine in the dash, but require a little modification to fit in the rear doors. The tabs for the mounting screws are too big, so I had to cut a corner from each one and then they slid into place and bolted down just fine. I love them! Not quite for the price (for my particular upgrade) but if you can catch them on sale it's worth it. Or if you have a different system than I do, they might be a bigger improvement.
Pros: Sound quality, bass for their size
Cons: None yet
Wow. These little guys did make a big difference. Installer was skeptical at fist. But now, I'm front row. The sound is clear w/out the over burden of the volume needing to be raised
Pros: For the cost it was an unexpected outcome in performance that it delivers. Overly impressed by its highs and clarity
Best 3 1/2 inch speakers Ive ever had. They give the music more clarity than you could ever imagine in your front speakers. The instruments are clear like they've never been.
Pros: They're the best 3 1/2 inch speakers Ive ever heard!
Cons: There aren't any!
I purchased these for my 89 blazer. Crutchfield says they fit with seperate brackets. They do not fit correctly, the dash metal braces hit the speakers when all is installed. These speakers are a cross between a mid and a tweeter. They try and reproduce mid level bass and high end from the tweeter. The mid sounds like crap even when adjusted crossover, with the mid trying so hard it makes the tweet sound like crap too. Get a combo mid and tweet seperate. You will be much happier.
Pros: They make noise.
Cons: The noise sounds like crap!
Great fill in for the dash speakers runs of head you and sounds great, it make the system feel full of sound
Pros: fits great, sounds great
Cons: would prefer component but work
happy with the purchase. fits as expected.
I replaced the Alpine speakers in the dash of my 2013 SRT Charger with these Infinity's. The difference is like night and day. They sound great and add the clear and crisp high's the factory Alpine's lack. Speakers also add a good amount of lows. All in all an excellent speaker at a good price.
Pros: Great highs, nice lows.
Sound crisp, & clean. yet powerfull enough to make sure they are heard with the other larger speakers.
Pros: Easiest to install
Speakers were purchased to replace dash speakers in an FJ Cruiser. They aren't supposed to fit but do with a small adjustment to the inside of the factory grill and placing a new hole for a mounting screw. 10X better response than from the full range speaker from the factory it replaced. Needs decent amount of power so I'll be buying a new Alpine MRX-V70 to allow these to really perform. More sound than you would expect from such a small speaker. Don't look for a 3 1/2" speaker to kick bass. Its a fill speaker
Pros: Well made, superb sound, very clear highs and mids
A great upgrade from the stock speakers! The stock dash speakers in the 2012 Charger were lifeless (base non-Alpine audio package). The Infinity Reference X REF-3002cfx brought out subtle details like whispers, cymbals, and reflected them off the windshield; soundscape expanded nicely. I added the PAC BB-600A2 Bass Blockers (600hz) to protect them. The included speaker wire adaptors worked great. In the right scheme, these speakers are a great supplement to your stereo system.
Pros: Added accurate higher frequencies, great improvement in vocals, in 2012 Charger took only about 45 min to get a great noticeable upgrade.
Replaced the dash spaekers in my S10. These sound GREAT!! So much better than the stock ones. Put the matching 6-1/2" ones in the doors. Really nice sound.
These were recommended for my car through the Crutchfield fit your car app. The fit was fine but after 3 weeks noticed a popping out of one of the speakers and the sound clarity was not there. Called Crutchfield and asked if the speakers were the right fit and they confirmed but told me since I was out of the return window I was out of luck and to replace the speakers. I happened to purchase another set at the beginning thinking I had 3 speakers in my front dash ( I didn't). I replaced the speakers and still not thrilled with the fidelity of the system. I found that in my car the front factory speakers are 8 ohms not 3 ohms as suggested and now am not sure if this is the wrong selection for my car. Crutchfield told me now to buy the amp upgrade to make it sound good but now I am forced to an upgrade that I was not really looking to do. This was my first experience with Crutchfield and for me they have failed in both the product and the customer support.
Pros: Good clarity at low volume
The speakers appear beautiful. And the infinity brand is strong. But the reality is that they much dont handle much bass. The highs are good mids are good. Use hpass. They are ok. I rely mostly on the sound of my Rockford Fosgate 6x9s. Heavy rear fader bias.
Cons: Crackle and pop with any bass.
These little dudes had a nice little punch. I was looking for a bit more so utilized Crutchfield's fantastic exchange policy!
nice sound, very crisp
Amazing speakers. More bass in these 3" speakers than the stock 4" speakers. Less distortion too. But these do fit a 2004 saab 93 if you grind down the inside of the grill. Just grind down the little hexagons. That extra 3/8's of an inch will make it flawless. you cant even tell there in there.
Pros: great highs and lows. Great sensitivy too
Cons: a little work to get in there for my certain car

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.
Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.
Tweeter: Each speaker has a balanced dome tweeter. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.
True Four Ohm Impedance Technology: The speaker's 3-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of your speaker wire provides a true 4-ohm load to your connected head unit or amplifier.
Power Handling: Although Infinity rates the 3002cfx speakers at 25 watts RMS (continuous average), they also recommend amplifiers with a power rating from 5 to 50 watts RMS.
