REF-6402cfx 4

Larger woofer for more bass

The REF-6402cfx features tough polypropylene woofers and durable hi-roll rubber surrounds that deliver strong performance. Each Plus One+ woofer sports a significantly larger cone than speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker's smooth and accurate highs.

Great for any power supply

You can power these speakers with up to 45 watts of RMS power — they'll work great with an external amplifier, but they're also sensitive enough to be a good match for a factory or aftermarket stereo. Plus, Infinity comes up with a safe way to get a little more power out of your system — these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your car so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance. Grilles are not included — factory grilles are appropriate for most installations.

100% better than stock speakers great sound!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have always been a fan of infinity products and these little speakers do not disappoint. The high end is silky with a pleasant transition to the woofer. The Low mids are full and rich from such a small speaker. Backing baffles did help the lower notes project into the cab instead of getting lost in the door panels.

Pros: Pleasant sound and reasonable price.

Cons: Tweeter does not angle as in other models in this line.

Perfect fit in a 2003 Jeep Wrangler using the Crutchfield supplied mounting and wiring adapters. Some improvement over the 13 year-old stock speakers, but not a much improvement as I had hoped for.

Pros: Easy installation.

Cons: Sound good, but not great.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking to upgrade my basic factory speakers with something a little more powerful. I have all infinity speakers in my Kia Optima and they sound amazing. I decided to put infinity speakers in my truck for that reason. These infinity speakers however, don't sound much different than the factory speakers I already had in my truck. I wouldn't really recommend these speakers as a factory upgrade. They are just about the same as a factory speaker

Pros: The infinity name. Easy install

Cons: A very basic dull speaker hidden behind a good name

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought for the rear to go with the Infinity Reference X REF-6500cx I got for the front of my 99 Silverado. Awesome sound even from the stock stereo which I did not want to replace at this time. Infinity makes a great product, and Crutchfield made the perfect recommendation based on my needs and music taste. Still haven't decided whether or not I want to add a small, powered subwoofer, but if I do, I'll be getting it from Crutchfield. They have evaluated hundreds of systems, and always seem to know just what you need.

Pros: Great sounding speakers. Installation went very well. Crutchfield support cannot be beat

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

There was not much difference b/t the Infinity speakers over the factory speakers they replaced in sound quality (construction quality big difference). Mids and High acoustics pretty good bass is terrible. Too the point I have to adjust stereo sound when certain songs come on (I also do not run the system hard). I have a Pioneer head unit that I need to keep the volume level no higher than 20 before they start to sound blown on bass (only). If coupled with sub and crossover, then probably pretty good speakers.

Pros: Price was very fair for Infinity Speakers, installation easy with Crutchfield MasterSheets, material construction quality of speaker.

Cons: Bass very weak even for a small speaker.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Speakers sound really good when paired with a subwoofer, or larger component speakers (both in my case; 6.5in components in the doors and 10in shallow sub behind the seat) but really add nothing in the area of bass. The speakers are in the dash of my pickup, and add great clarity and loudness to the soundscape, but really lack in bass production; most likely due to its lack of surface area, but that was expected with the 4x6s. Also, the plate they come attached to seems flimsy and isn't securely attached to the speaker itself. Ended up removing the rectangular plastic plate it is attached too, and re-attaching it with larger surface screws and glue.

Pros: Great clarity and high notes.

Cons: Horrible bass quality, and crappy mounting plate.

I was recommened these speakers from a crutchfield advisor as a good all around speaker. I'd say they're fairly good quality. The highs and mids on them are crystal clear but the bass is reletively lacking presence but it is afterall a 4x6 speaker. Doesn't sound badat all, but I think its lacking on the bass side a tad

Pros: Awesome highs and mids, fit perfectly with no modification required

Cons: Simply a lack of bass

I replaced the worn out speakers in my 2003 Silverado with these speakers. The installation was pretty easy with the helpful links on the website. The speakers sound great and I couldn't be happier. I might just look into a new radio in the future to go with the new speakers.

Features

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and increased efficiency.

Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.

Textile Dome Tweeters: Each speaker uses an edge-driven textile dome tweeter for smooth, accurate highs.

True Four Ohm Impedance Technology: The speaker's 3-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of your speaker wire provides a true 4-ohm load to your connected head unit or amplifier.

Power Handling: Although Infinity rates the 6402cfx speakers at 45 watts RMS (continuous average), they also recommend amplifiers with a power rating from 5 to 50 watts RMS.

Bottom Mounting: While the standard 4x6 adapters appear to be easily removable, they are glued in place at four points around the perimeter (in addition to the four screws, which are obvious). With the adapters in place, the speakers fit many top mount standard 4x6 and metric 4x6 applications. If the adapters are removed the speakers will fit additional top mount metric 4x6 applications, as well as bottom mount metric 4x6 applications.
