Designed for more clarity

Do you want to hear the details you've been missing in your car's sound system? You'll enjoy exceptional clarity from Infinity's Reference X Series REF-6502ix 6-3/4" speakers. Infinity's UniPivot design allows you to aim each textile dome tweeter toward your ears, so you enjoy excellent stereo imaging even if the speakers are mounted way down low in your doors. Each tweeter features a level control switch so you can boost the brightness to your taste.

Larger woofer for more bass

The REF-6502ix appeals to bassheads too, with tough polypropylene woofers and durable hi-roll rubber surrounds that deliver strong low-frequency performance. Each Plus One+ woofer sports a significantly larger cone than speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker's smooth and accurate highs.

REF-6502ix 6-3/4

Great for any power supply

You can power these speakers with up to 60 watts of RMS power — they'll work great with an external amplifier, but they're also sensitive enough to be a good match for a factory or aftermarket stereo. Plus, Infinity comes up with a safe way to get a little more power out of your system — these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your car so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance. Grilles are included along with Infinity logo badges that can be attached to your factory grilles.

Note: Infinity describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-3/4" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-3/4" speaker.

Product Highlights:

  • 6-3/4" 2-way car speakers
  • Plus One+ polypropylene woofer cone with hi-roll rubber surround
  • 1" edge-driven, textile dome tweeter
  • included brackets allow mounting in a variety of 6-3/4" and 6-1/2" openings
  • True Four Ohm Impedance technology: speaker's 3-ohm impedance combines with speaker wire impedance for a 4-ohm load
  • compatible with virtually all factory or aftermarket car stereos
  • power range: 5-60 watts RMS (180 watts peak power)
  • frequency response: 53-21,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 93 dB
  • top-mount depth: 2-1/16"
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Why replace your factory speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

Clean Sounding Even At High Levels.

Written by: The BC Factor from PA on January 21, 2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed a pair of these in the back of a 1966 Chevy Impala. They are power with Kenwood amplifier putting out about 50 watts to each speaker. They are very clean sounding and have a great sound-stage. You can crank them up beyond any reasonable level and the sound doesn't break up. I highly recommend these speakers.

Pros: Clean Sounding, Great Sound-Stage, Reasonably Priced

Cons:

Great Sound!!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed 4 of these in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (2 in the sound bar and 2 in the dash). Used the adaptors included with the speakers for an easy install in the sound bar. The dash speakers required making new mounting holes in the factory plastic speaker enclosure. I used the factory speaker screws to seal the 3 factory holes. I put poly fill in the sound bar and the dash enclosures and the sound is fantastic. The bass sounds even better after 3 or 4 weeks of use (speaker surround breaking in). Highly recommend.

Pros: Great sound across the entire spectrum. Adjustable tweeter. Good bass response.

Cons: None found in almost 3 years of using these speakers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the factory speakers in a 2014 Malibu. The factory speakers were gradually losing their clarity. There was an obvious difference in construction with these Infinity speakers, and more important, a big improvement in sound. I still have the factory radio, but with these speakers I have no need to replace it.

Pros: Improved sound, solid construction

Cons: Have not noticed any

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have had 5 sets of these over the years in different vehicles, and I keep going back to them for the sound, quality and the overall bang for buck. Never had a set go south on me and they have only gotten better as they moderinze with each generation. I have used them as stock speaker replacements each time, and they fill a wonderful sweet spot before making the big jump into new head untis, amps and subs. The midrange and highs are crisp and clear with almost no chance of distortion and with the aimable tweeter you can direct it where you need it as well. You get quality sound without massive money spent, and you will not be dissappointed.

Pros: -Build quality -HUGE value -Great sound overall for the niche they are designed for

Cons: -Bass is a bit lacking, but that goes with the territory at this price point, size and lack of amps/subs and so on.

1999 Chevrolet Corvette
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these on a 99 Corvette to replace the stock Bose speakers in the doors and rear deck. I am running a 18 RMS Alpine head unit, not the stock head unit. The sound was much cleaner and crisper than the Bose. Although the Bose was OK, it still had that cheap paper cone sound to it and no crisp highs whatsoever. I have had Infinity in the past and have always been pleased with their sound. It is simply a good warm natural sound for a decent price. I will say the +3 was a bit tinny to me, but that is personal preference and probably due to the fact my rear speakers are 6" from my head. Set at +0, they are perfect. As for bass, my stock system comes with 8' "woofers" and 3.5s in the doors. I replaced all of those with this 6.5 and the 6.5s beat out the 8" Bose woofers! They will not be ratteling your rear view and waking up the neighbors, but they do OK for a 6.5' midrange speaker. I will be adding a 10' sub (JL10w0v3-4) to round things out. These speakers with a small sub should hit the spot!

Pros: Good construction, ability to aim highs without having to mount remote tweeter, +3/+0 adjustment right on the speaker. Price.

Cons: None.

2002 Dodge Ram 1500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First off, the build quality is great. It just feels high quality when holding it in your hand, especially the basket. Even the hardware looks high quality. Once installed it sounds awesome. I tried it with the tweeter attenuator at 0db and +3db. +3db worked better with my 600 watt sub. Still, I decided to leave it flat and just boost the tweeter at the head unit. It sounds nice and bright, but not harsh. The rotating bezel takes some time getting used to. It had no markings to say where to stop and it felt tight at times. The woofer gave good, balanced midrange and midbass. It's not bass heavy, but it sounds good. I have them crossed over at 100hz and tried them at 80hz with no problems. They include a pair of nice grilles, foam gaskets and even some nice, little infinity badges to put on the factory speaker grilles. Overall, I'm very happy and satisfied with my purchase. They're definitely worth the price.

Pros: Good build quality, 1 inch tweeter with rotating bezel, plus one woofer cone, 3 ohm

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After installing another brand that was just to bright, I exchanged them for these. they had decent Bass for this size speaker and the tweeter was not as shiny as the other set which was perfect. the sound quality from my factory head unit is very good and was certainly an upgrade from the stock single cone speakers. I now have Reference speakers in my dash and rear deck. thanks Crutchfield for making exchanges easy.

Pros: good quality, good sound all around good speaker for this size unit.

Cons: the mounting hardware did not match what I needed for my dodge install. you need to have flat head screws that mount under the flange and use a nut on top. other than that Nothing

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these to install in rear doors of a 2006 Toyota Tundra crew cab. Installation brackets provided by Crutchfield were flimsy plastic and and not up to my standards for a OEM fit and finish. Gutted old speakers and installed the Infinity speakers in old speaker housings to get proper fit and spacing. This required a good amount of fabrication including filling voids in old housing with JB Weld to create bosses to drill and secure new speakers to. Also soldered the jumper wires from housing to new speakers. When complete, the speakers fit perfectly and were sealed in the door. No road noise, wind drafts or water leaks. Spacing was perfect behind door panels. The Infinity speaker covers were not used. A definite improvement in sound over the stock speakers. I am using a Jensen Heavy Duty AM/FM/CD radio JHD1635BTB. Max power output: 180 watts (45W x 4) This radio puts out more power than stock head unit and the speakers matched up nicely. Now I need to change out the front speakers with another set of these Infinity speakers.

Pros: Good performance. Good construction quality.

Cons: No cons with the speakers or Infinity. The adapter brackets to install the speakers or cheap, flimsy plastic and don't fit properly as is the case with most of the plastic brackets made by Scosche and Metra. You are better off modifying the OEM brackets to get a trouble free fit.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Awesome speakers. I bought these to get those highs and mids I been missing but was surprised by the bass that these infinitys put out, it won't knock pictures off the walls but still pretty good and hits perfectly to any music. Im waiting to add a sub as the final piece to the puzzle. I would recommend these over and over again. With the harness Crutchfield provided installing them took 20 mins and another 20 minutes of sitting in my car jamming all my music! Oh and let them break in a little everyday sounds better!

Pros: Clarity amazing mids and highs. 3d. Button on tweeter

Cons: Not a whole lot of bass but not what these are for

Disappointed

Written by: DanP from Pennsylvania on January 6, 2015

Installed these with visions of glory, making my average stereo sound great. I'm running a aftermarket sony xplod with some cheap kenwoods in the front. Replaced the rear factory speakers with the polks and expected a major difference. I noticed a nice difference with the highs from the tweeters but have a lot of distortion from the mids. Gave them about a 20 hr break in before I really tried to test them thinking it would sound better and there wasn't much difference. However, I will say the louder I play them the better they sound. I called Crutchfield and spoke with tech support and the told me my stereo isn't pushing enough watts for the speakers and I would need an amplifier. I do believe these speakers will sound great with the amp but didn't think I would NEED one. So now I'm stuck with these until I can afford to purchase the amp, right now I'm thinking about putting my cheap factory speakers back in. At this point I am very disappointed

Pros:

Cons:

Crutchfield response on January 12, 2015 When replacing factory speakers, people sometimes hear less bass but improved clarity in the mids and highs. That's not unusual. But hearing a loss of sound quality in the mids, especially when you already have an aftermarket stereo powering them, is unusual, and especially so, given the high sensitivity of these Infinity speakers. Adding the power of a small amplifier (40-50 watts) will greatly improve the sound by giving these speakers the power they need to really come to life. Remember, you have 60 days to return or exchange the speakers if you're not satisfied. Just give us a call and we'll get that set up for you. Our Customer Service reps will be glad to help in any way they can.

These sound great. I have them in an extended cab Sierra. The rear speakers have little bass (I have a feeling that's a design in the truck not the speaker.) all around the speakers sound great. Much better than stock. Very clear. I've only had them in for a week so I'm still adjusting and fine tuning the eq on the factory radio but so far I love them.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

While the speakers do provide a marginal improvement in sound quality over the stock units they are 3 ohm vs the 2 ohm of the OEM which means I have to drive the stock head unit that much harder to obtain the same volume levels. As the NV200 is a relatively loud vehicle that simple leads to the stereo's output breaking up sooner. In particular, mid-bass frequencies easily cause massive distortion. Over all, I don't think the speakers were a worth-while improvement over stock. Perhaps as part of a larger upgrade where I was adding a better head unit and/or amp(s) and/or sub(s) they would be OK, but as a simple stock replacement they did not impress. FWIW, they are not a drop-in replacement for the NV200, but will fit with minor work.

Pros: improved bass response over stock

Cons: 3 ohm vs stock 2 ohm means you drive the stock head unit harder to get same volume levels and distort the amp sooner.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I own a 2013 VW Jetta TDI , and while I love the car , the sound system was pretty mediocre. I decided to add some new speakers to improve the sound quality without changing the clean factory looks of the interior. I used the "fit my car" search refining option and chose the 6502ix's from infinity because I wanted the improved bass from the larger cone plus the extra clarity from dedicated tweeters that can be aimed up and out of the bottom of the door where the factory mounts are. I am not much of a do-it-yourself type of person ,but I thought I might give it a try . The speakers came with all of the stuff I needed and installing them took about 1 hour on the drivers door. ( going slowly and carefully, the driver's side door has a lot more wiring connections to unhook, power windows , mirror , door locks and security light.) The other doors took about 30 mins. apiece and when I was done , everything still looked "factory original" , but the sound was great!! I am a very satisfied customer!!

Pros: Had to make one phone call to get some help with finding a hidden torx screw. The customer help guy was patient and knew exactly what to do and explained it to me in about a minute and a half!! I would suggest that a newbie like me should do the install while the Crutchfield customer service line is available. They turned a "What do I do now?" moment into a confidence builder. I will do this again next time , it was actually fun and I love the results!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Factory front speakers went out, requiring replacement. Great sound even backed by the factory radio. Small amount of clearance between woofer surround and door panel at full extension, this should not be a problem for normal volume listening. If so just trim away a bit of the door panel opening, its hidden behind the factory grill anyway.

Pros: Simple Install. Clean Sound

Cons: Two gaskets, only one of which you get instructions on using, the second is for the mounting ring, use it as a buffer between the door and mounting ring you mount the speaker with.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased and installed these speakers to replace the OEM speakers in the front doors of my 2012 Toyota Tacoma. The difference is substantial. Good and crisp on the high end and surisingly complete on the bottom end. I read several reveiws that complained about the lack of low end on these speakers. To my mind that can only come from unreasonable expectations and a lack of knowledge of what good bass response should be. This speaker will not shake the windows of the car next to you, but I think the sound is very, very good.

Pros: Great sound Easy install with the kit from Crutchfield.

Great quality speakers! I read many reviews on various brands and decided to go with the Infinity's. These speakers did not disappoint. I put them in the rear doors of my 2007 Silverado to replace factory ones. The installation was easy and sound is booming! For a 6.5" speaker these have all kinds of base and treble with the factory stereo. Everyone wants the deep base from a sub in a speaker this size and they deliver for a 6.5".

Pros: Ease of install, base and optional tweeter control

Cons: none

Good Value

Written by: ReneN from Blacksburg, VA on December 27, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These were installed in the rear doors of a 2007 Honda Fit. Given the size of the magnet structure of these speakers, it required doubling of the mounting brackets (included plus those from Crutchfield) to avoid having to cut the doors.

These are rear speakers, so can't comment on the sound much (I sit in front), but the existing Honda Speakers have a magnet structure the size of a quarter. Speakers had everything necessary to mount properly. Being able to adjust the direction of the tweeter is a plus, as they are located very low and forward in this vehicle.

Pros: Value, flexibility to aim tweeter (rotatable), quality of mounting hardware.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

One factor in my purchase was the excellent customer service I received when I had an issue with a wiring harness I purchased from Crutchfield. These speakers were connected to a JVC KW-HDR81BT head unit and a factory installed amp.

Installation was a snap (front door installation), thanks to the Crutchfield Advisor information that matches products with your automobile model. The free wiring harness saved several minutes and was one less thing to screw up. Late model cars are so much easier to work with compared to classic cars because the door panels are simple to remove. In all, installation time was about 45 minutes per door.

I'm still tweaking my sound settings and the JVC head unit is highly tweakable. But so far I've been impressed with the sound. Bass is fine for me. The limiting factor for bass is physics; you're only going to get so much out of 6.75". If you want the very bottom, then you need a subwoofer. The OEM speakers that I removed had partial plastic enclosures on them. I think after market makers should consider developing them for their products.

These speakers are a very good value for money. Tough to beat.

Pros: - Very crisp in the mid and hi range. - Satisfactory bass performance. - Installation was a breeze. Plenty of extra screws and clips if you need them. - The included stick on badges were a nice touch when using existing door panel grills.

Cons: - Manufacturers should consider offering enclosures with the speakers.

Infinity speakers

Never even got to hear the speakers because they would not fit into the kick panels of my classic car without having to cut structural metal to install them, which was a bummer. The car is a convertible, so they won't do any good by installig them in the back seat. I wouldn't be able to hear them anyway.

Pros: Supposed to be a great sounding speaker. Never heard them...

Cons: Won't fit in a 1970 Olds Convertible without structural changes.

Installed in my Chevy Silverado regular cab front doors, sound is great for a small speaker. They do produce a fair amount of base for their size in my truck.

Pros: Tweeters can be directed upward for a more direct sound from seating position.

Cons: Plastic speaker adapter supplied for free breaks very easy.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got these for a 07 Honda Civic. Even though Crutchfield says it fits with a bracket, it doesn't. Does not clear torsion bar in trunk without raising speakers with bracket and spacers/washers.

I enjoy these speakers very much. The mid's and highs are superb. The bass is also excellent for a 6.5" speaker. When researching these speakers and reading reviews I saw many complaints about the bass which almost steered me away. I took a chance and turned out more than pleased with the bass of the speakers. If you are looking for a natural/true bass these are awesome. If you are looking to rattle the trunk these are not for you.

Pros: Crutchfield support. Great overall sound.

Cons: metal used for connecting +/- ports is a little flimsy. No idea where to put the little "infinity" stickers that came with the speakers.

These were recommended to me from a Crutchfield advisor for a decent system with no sub. I'd say half of that recomendation was right. These speakers have crystal clear highs and mids, but the bass just simply seems lacking in my opinion. You can hear the bass, but it's not got a ton a presence in the sound. These would be great paired with a subwoofer

These speakers are great. The sound is so clear and I haven't been able to hear any distortion yet even at high volumes. These speakers surprisingly push out a lot of bass. It's not the really low end bass that's gonna shake your entire vehicle but that's not what these speakers are for. Overall I'm very pleased with these speakers.

Pros: Very clear sound (lows and highs), no distortion, lots of bass

Cons: Not really a con, but these aren't the greatest for really low bass frequencies. If you really want that you need a sub.

Since I already had 6 infinity speakers I decided to place these new 6 1/2 s on the doors and the pair that were removed went to the rear deck but closest to the side panels as posible and this added more sound on the back fill and the new ones on the doors sound fantastic! Updated speakers in Class A motorhome

Written by: Ron from Albuquerque, NM on May 14, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed 2 sets of speakers in our Class A motorhome -one set in front cabinets over driver/passenger area and second set in cabinets over bed in rear of coach. Each set sounded different driven by the cabinet size. Front cabinets were deeper giving more bass but muffled sound. Cup your hands around your mouth as if you were going to shout at someone - this is what it sounded like. This was easily fixed by buying polyfill at Walmart and loosely stuffing the cabinets. Add/delete polyfill stuffing to achieve your desired baseline sound quality with stereo treble/bass tone settings at zero. Rear speakers sounded great with no tweaking required. Yes I would buy them again. These speakers greatly improved our factory speakers!

Pros: Love the angled tweeters & 3db gain option to direct sound where I want it. Grill design makes for easy installation - it pops off allowing easy access to 4 mounting screws. Additional gasket material included provides a nice seal option.

Infinity REF-6502ix 6.5"/6.75" 2-Way Car Speaker in Silverado

Written by: Walter from Ocean Springs, MS on April 26, 2013

2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Infinity REF-6502ix 6.5"/6.75" 2-Way Car Speaker is an excellent choice to replace OEM front door speakers in a 2006 Chevy Silverado. The OEM speaker is mounted in a bracket that holds the speaker in the door and lifts the speaker to fill the gap between the speaker and the door panel speaker opening. The OEM speaker has a foam face that seals to the door panel opening. There is be a gap between the aftermarket Infinity speakers and the door panel opening of about .8 inches.

I installed the speakers straight to the door. I ended up going with 0 db on the tweeters and with them orientated down and slightly facing forward. You really can't appreciate the speaker's performance from listening to the radio. You need to play a CD to really appreciate the sound quality. At half volume, I'm ready to get run out of the cab. At that level there zero distortion. I used weather seal foam tape to seal the Infinity speakers to the door panel. I figured if I didn't seal the speaker, like the OEM's were sealed, I'd be losing some sound to the door panel void because there's a gap between the Infinity and the door panel. I used Duck brand .5 inch thick by .75 inch wide weather seal self adhesive foam and applied it at the door around the speaker outside edge and at the door panel around the speaker opening.

Pros: Great sound. Great value.

Cons: None.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My 2008 Sierra Extended cab pickup has the speakers mounted in the lower door panels, right on the floorboards. This really kills the high end. I tried a couple of speakers that had really good sound in other vehicles, but they just sounded really "muddy" , even with tweeters installed in the sail panels, due to the low speaker placement in my truck. These Infinitys were recommended, I replaced all 4 speakers and I am really pleased with the sound. They have a switch to increase the tweeter +3 db and also rotate the tweeter upwards. These have really brought out the sound of the Kenwood DDX419 head unit. You can't really expect a lot of base with any 6.5 in the door panels and I do use a 12" sub.

Pros: Great performance for the price. High end adjustable +3 db.

Cons: Doesn't come with any speaker wire, in case you have to run any extra.

I downloaded step by step instructions on how to take the doors off online and the infinity's fit perfectly with the bracket from Crutchfield. Even with the factory head unit these speakers are loud! Crisp highs and definite mids. The bass is wonderful. These are large door speakers and so they can produce much more bass than say a 5.25in speaker. Why pay for more expensive speakers!?

Pros: Easy installation, crisp sound, hits highs and mids flawlessly, impressive bass, directional tweeters, look cool, great price for impressive speakers

I put one of the new speakers in on the left and left the stock on the right and listened to them both and the factory speaker out performed this set. I always put Infinity speakers in my vehicles. The one time I didn't I regretted it and now having ditched those speakers and put these in. I remember why. Its the quality and clarity of sound. They might be higher cost then some out there and not always have sales but they are worth every penny no matter when you get a hold of them. My last pair was in my Accord coup and I couldn't push them hard enough to ever damage them so I know what I was getting when I put these in. You wont regret purchasing these. Comes with all the needed hardware and stuff you wouldn't have thought as well.

Pros: For me its the little things that impress me with these speakers. - Variable angle Tweeters!! Real plus so you can direct the sound where you want it. - +3db gain to boost highs when you have the speakers in a low position such as kick panels or behind seats. - Comes with sound insulation foam to place around the speaker so you can prevent vibration feedback on the mounts in the door. Not every company does this. - Logos on sticky tape so you can proudly display the brand in your car.

Cons: None that I have found.

Big Sound in a Small Pkg

Written by: Bobby from Atlanta, GA on September 8, 2012

Wanted a nice set of speakers for doors on my old faithful 2000 Nissan Frontier King Cab. Just put a new Pioneer HD 4400 hed receiver in it and wanted a nice set of speakers to match up with it. Factory speakers were pretty horrible, and most of the 6 1/2" speakers weren't very highly regarded for having much bass. Crutchfield rep recommended these Infinity speakers, so I ordered some. (thanks Levi) I'm very happy with these speakers. Most smaller speakers like these are usually way overbalanced to the high side. Many sound downright tinny. Was pleasantly surprised at the full sound that these speakers produce. Especially after tweaking the audio to fit the interior space in my truck. Never distorted even at high volumes. Surprisingly decent bass for such small speakers. Easy to install, didn't even need adapter as they fit right into the factory bracket. Even used the same screws to put new speakers in. Wiring harnesses supplied are nice, super easy connection. If you're looking to replace your crappy factory speakers in your doors, and don't want to spend a fortune, I would recommend these without hesitation.

Pros: Great full sound, nice mid range. Not bad bass for 6 1/2" speakers.

Cons: The little 3 Db booster button on the tweeter is kinda unnecessary.

These speakers sound great and were easy to install. Only basic tools and moderate handyman skills needed. My only complaint is that neither the Crutchfield nor the Infinity instructions and pictures were very clear so it took me awhile to figure out how to attach the speakers with the brackets and ensure they would not produce a vibrating sound. Also, they did not include any screws from Crutchfield and I could not use they existing screws nor the ones from Infinity so I had to go out and buy my own. I also had to drill the holes a little bigger in the cover to accommodate the new screws.

Pros: Sounds great. Easy to install.

They fit perfect in the doors; I had to cut the back of the stock mounting bracket but I knew that going into it. The first door took me about 40 minutes and the remaining doors took about 15.

I went to look into something different this time, and these had just released. I must say, they have to be some of the best performing 6 1/2s I've worked with. Highs are clear, but not shrill, Mids are perfect, and the bass response is solid. I cut off at 120 hz from a head unit spitting out 22 watts, and am thouroughly impressed.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Upgraded my RV living room speakers. My RV sound system is fairly decent, but four very poor quality speakers. The Infinity 6502ix's Really make a difference!

Pros: Clarity and dynamics of the sound, easy installation, and great price--received the "Buy One and Get One Half Off" special--Sweet!

Cons: None

1993 Mazda MX3
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Infinity brand is always good, and even better when the price is right. Total cost for the pair of speakers, with mounting brackets that fit the 3-bolt opening of the 1993 Mazda MX-3, for this price. In comparison to the worn stock speakers which were still equipped in the vehicle, they are amazing, naturally. The tweeters are crisp and clear, mid-range is pronounced, and bass is very apparent. Installation was very easy, however, we did not receive any speaker harness, though it wasn't a problem to pop off the MX-3's OE speaker connector and crimp the brass connectors to the speakers. Overall, we are definitely pleased with this purchase, and will be purchasing these same speakers for the rear as well.

Pros: Price, sound quality, volume handling, ease of installation, clean looking grill, supplied speaker baffling, +3/+0 dB button.

Cons:

Features

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and increased efficiency.

Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.

Textile Dome Tweeters (UniPivot Design): Each speaker uses an edge-driven textile dome tweeter for smooth, accurate highs. The UniPivot design mounts the tweeter at an angle and pivots, so the tweeter can be pointed at the listeners, optimizing the stereo image for a more uniform response. The tweeter housing can be turned approximately 315 degrees.

Tweeter Level Control: A switch on the front of the tweeter allows you to boost the tweeter output to +3dB, useful if the speakers are mounted low in a door where high frequencies are easily absorbed.

True Four Ohm Impedance Technology: The speaker's 3-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of your speaker wire provides a true 4-ohm load to your connected head unit or amplifier.

Power Handling: Although Infinity rates the 6502ix speakers at 60 watts RMS (continuous average), they also recommend amplifiers with a power rating from 5 to 125 watts RMS.

Mounting: Without an adapter, the 6502ix speakers fit standard 6-3/4" applications. Given their required cutout, they will also fit standard 3-hole 6-1/2" and 4-hole 6-1/2" applications without an adapter, but new screw holes must be drilled. Using the included adapter brackets they can be mounted in a variety of 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" applications, without any modification.
