Do you want to hear the details you've been missing in your car's sound system? You'll enjoy exceptional clarity from Infinity's Reference X Series REF-6502ix 6-3/4" speakers. Infinity's UniPivot design allows you to aim each textile dome tweeter toward your ears, so you enjoy excellent stereo imaging even if the speakers are mounted way down low in your doors. Each tweeter features a level control switch so you can boost the brightness to your taste.
The REF-6502ix appeals to bassheads too, with tough polypropylene woofers and durable hi-roll rubber surrounds that deliver strong low-frequency performance. Each Plus One+ woofer sports a significantly larger cone than speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker's smooth and accurate highs.
You can power these speakers with up to 60 watts of RMS power — they'll work great with an external amplifier, but they're also sensitive enough to be a good match for a factory or aftermarket stereo. Plus, Infinity comes up with a safe way to get a little more power out of your system — these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your car so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance. Grilles are included along with Infinity logo badges that can be attached to your factory grilles.
Note: Infinity describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-3/4" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-3/4" speaker.

I wanted a speaker that would be effortless install, no drilling required. I was told this speaker would do that, but that was not true. When I call the support number, I was told that the screw holes don't always match up and I could return it if needed. I ended up having to drill new holes in the door panels but it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The speakers do sound great.
I needed improved sound in my camper toy hauler. I needed clear, broad sound at low to mid volume. The price was very reasonable
Pros: Easy to install, great sound, great price...
I decided to use these speakers to replace the worn out Sony XPLOD speakers in my boat. I bought 4 pairs of these...two are mounted in cans on the tower, and 6 others are located in other areas of the boat. I am powering them with a Sony 600W 4 channel amp, and have the high pass filter enabled to eliminate the lower bass frequencies from reaching these speakers. I am using a Sony MEX-M70BT marine head unit to control the filter settings, EQ, etc. For bass performance, I am running a Rockford Fosgate P300-10 sealed subwoofer with a 300W Class D internal amplifier. The midrange and highs these Infinity speakers produce are excellent. They are very sensitive and play quite loud without distortion. They look very nice, seem very well-made. The selectable switch for the tweeter is also a welcome addition as I have some low and high mounted speakers and was able to use this switch to customize the sound. Very pleased with this purchase and how all of these piece parts play together.
Pros: Well made, very good value with current price break, look nice, angled tweeter with selectable tweeter gain, tight and smooth mids and highs
These speakers are very nice. They have clear highs, but they're not overpowering. The midst are nice and strong too. They definitely have the power I was looking for. I can max out the volume on my headunit, and there's no distortion or cutting out. There isn't a lot of bass, but they aren't subs, so that can be expected. I also have remained set on a high pass filter at 120hz since I already have subs in my car. 100% recommend them especially when paired with some good subs. I've only had them for a week, but theyou seem like they'll last a while.
Pros: Clear highs. Powerfull mids. Seem pretty durable.
Cons: Not a ton of bass power, but enough for a well-balanced sound.
Changed out stock speakers in front and rear doors for Infinity Reference X REF-6502ix's. Noticeable improvement in clarity, highs, mid and bass. Still using stock head unit and volume is fine (the Infinity's are quite efficient).
Pros: Straightforward installation - very good instructions from Crutchfield. Improved sound: worth the effort and cost.
Replaced the factory head unit in my 2010 Chevy Tahoe months ago, and figured "Why not try replacing the factory speakers too?". After installing these in all four doors the sound quality tripled! What a HUGE difference. There is A LOT more Bass, and the highs really sing out from the angled tweeters. No amplifier needed for these, the aftermarket unit I installed just pairs great with them. I think any aftermarket or even factory unit will push these Infinity Reference speakers just fine. Don't hesitate if you're considering them. You won't be sorry. Also, don't forget to switch on the little tweeter boost buttons on the speakers if you're not running an amplifier.
Pros: Easy to install with all of the free accessories you receive. Massive sound improvement
The Infinity REF-6502ix speakers provide the sound quality upgrade the I was looking for. I especially like emphasis on mids and highs. After reviewing my objectives with the Crutchfield Consultant and placing my order, I was anxious for delivery. My speaker package arrived as indicated, along with the complimentary installation materials. (speaker mounting brackets, speaker adapter cables and Installation Detail Sheets) The installation went very smoothly; I've done several installs previously. I am thoroughly enjoying the sound from my new speakers and thinking about my next upgrade. I have been a Crutchfield customer for years, with purchases for both my home and my car sound systems. :-)
Easy install. If you buy this for an Extended Cab Silverado 07.5 to 2010, and are replacing all 4 speakers, buy all 4 for the front. Crutchfield will send the hardware for 4 front door speakers. That spacer bracket can be used quite easily for the rear door as well with the factory bolt that holds the original rear speaker bracket in. Simply line it up with the hole. The factory bolt will fit through the hole in the spacer just enough to get a bite, driving it in will bore out the plastic hole on the bracket as it threads in. Then it fits just as good as the front does. Sound quality is definitely better then OE. Much clearer even at high volume.
Pros: Great sound Easy Install Excellent replacement for OE speakers
Cons: None so far
Speakers went in easily. All 4 were done in 1 1/2 hours with the mounting brackets.
Pros: Speakers sound great. Vast improvement from stock ones
Cons: Could use a little more bass
The Infinity Reference X are so clear and efficient, that the rear speakers just fill the mid range; at a low level. 3/4 power to the rear is required to balance the audio. The adjustable tweeter on the Ref-6502ix , directs the high-end to fill cleanly with the two Lucerne pillar tweeters. Great speaker Great choice with the help of my Crutchfield advisor. Awesome support , guidance and results
Pros: Clean, efficient , Awesome sound with the standard Buick Delco audio
Cons: Required adapter grill attached to mounting bracket with Baffles
Had these in a truck a while back so ordered a set to replace bad factory speakers. What a difference! Highs are crisp and lows are really pronounced. even phone calls with Bluetooth are better! The front doors needed 4 holes drilled but the back just used the supplied screws and were a direct replacement! Required to call to get the wiring harnesses for free. Customer service was awesome! No clearance issues or cutting required. Also put these in my Silverado and now can hear the radio over my exhaust.
Pros: Great sound and value, Was on sale
Cons: None reported
Nice sound good fitment
easy install, clear highs, good power handling properties.
Pros: good looking speaker
Cons: weak lows
Love these speakers, sound better than my stock ones, I installed by myself. Sound is crisp and clear. Absolutely love them, and a very good price.
Pros: Sound,and price
Installation for front speakers was with included spacers modified slightly. Rear speakers had to drill mounting holes, direct to door. Mid and high end sound much better than stock speakers, bass not as deep, maybe my OEM head unit. Definitely an improvement. Might need a bit of speaker break-in.
Pros: High and mid real good.
Cons: Bass not too deep considering these are decent sized speakers when used with stock Subaru HU.
These speakers are excellent! The have a solid build, great volume (especially the base) and are easy to install. I got them on sale for $60 a pair, and the adapters allowed them to fit the front and back
Pros: High quality, easily installed
Cons: None at all. BUY THIS and save yourself some heartache looking for crappy ones instead
Good quality coaxial with great sound quality. I put these in the back to fill in the sound for my infiniti reference 6500cx components up front. I like the sound especially for the price. They have a built in crossover and you can actually turn the tweeter up or down like an actual component set.
Pros: Nice looks and quality. Good sound and features.
Cons: Don't come with any wiring or connector hardware for the wiring
If your thinking about swapping out your stock speakers for these infinity speakers you are making the right choice! The clarity that comes from these speakers are amazing. This is the fourth pair I have purchased. I also have these in another one of my cars. If your looking to save a few bucks but still want great quality, look no further. Thank you to the crutchfield family for all the help with my purchases. This team is truly amazing!
I needed to replace a blown front door speaker in my wife's 2001 Firebird and after looking options and reviews I selected the 6502ix. I replaced the rear speakers as well to ensue a "matched sound. The speakers have terrific range and coupled with the build in equalizer in the stock radio the sound is great. I don't drive the car much but sitting in the driveway I can rock the house windows. My wife sais she couldn't turn the volume up much because of distortion in the stock speakers. Now she's a happy camper. The installation instructions were spot on and the fit into the stock openings was perfect. I did not use the included speaker mounts as they matched the stock mounting holes.
Pros: Next day shipping, great sound, perfect fit, installation instructions, tweeter can be turned so it be pointed at the passenger cabin.
These are great speakers, but I was a little taken back by the fact that my factory speakers were 2 ohms, thinking they were 4 ohms. I was expecting a little more volume when I installed the infinitys in my front doors which are 3 ohms. The sound is much better overall, and with the higher sensitivity level, 93db. I guess that what equals the volume output between the 2 ohm factory speakers, and the 3 ohm infinity speakers. So I still have the same volume level of the factory speakers. Haven't yet replaced my rear door speakers.
Pros: Impress with the high end sound from the rotating tweeter
Cons: Wish they were 2 ohms
I installed a pair of these in the back of a 1966 Chevy Impala. They are power with Kenwood amplifier putting out about 50 watts to each speaker. They are very clean sounding and have a great sound-stage. You can crank them up beyond any reasonable level and the sound doesn't break up. I highly recommend these speakers.
Pros: Clean Sounding, Great Sound-Stage, Reasonably Priced
Installed 4 of these in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (2 in the sound bar and 2 in the dash). Used the adaptors included with the speakers for an easy install in the sound bar. The dash speakers required making new mounting holes in the factory plastic speaker enclosure. I used the factory speaker screws to seal the 3 factory holes. I put poly fill in the sound bar and the dash enclosures and the sound is fantastic. The bass sounds even better after 3 or 4 weeks of use (speaker surround breaking in). Highly recommend.
Pros: Great sound across the entire spectrum. Adjustable tweeter. Good bass response.
Cons: None found in almost 3 years of using these speakers.
Installed 4 in a pontiac vibe. The stock speakers are just terrible. These sound great with stock stereo. I am also planning changing out the stock stereo. I primarily listem to Rock and am running these with 0 db setting. I used the scosche brackets from Crutchfield.
Pros: Sound great
Good speakers but it's frustrating t get everything in and turns out the screw holes are different and bracket does not fit.
I Love these speakers. Sound great really easy to install
Pros: Easy install sound amazing
I replaced the factory speakers in a 2014 Malibu. The factory speakers were gradually losing their clarity. There was an obvious difference in construction with these Infinity speakers, and more important, a big improvement in sound. I still have the factory radio, but with these speakers I have no need to replace it.
Pros: Improved sound, solid construction
Cons: Have not noticed any
I have had 5 sets of these over the years in different vehicles, and I keep going back to them for the sound, quality and the overall bang for buck. Never had a set go south on me and they have only gotten better as they moderinze with each generation. I have used them as stock speaker replacements each time, and they fill a wonderful sweet spot before making the big jump into new head untis, amps and subs. The midrange and highs are crisp and clear with almost no chance of distortion and with the aimable tweeter you can direct it where you need it as well. You get quality sound without massive money spent, and you will not be dissappointed.
Pros: -Build quality -HUGE value -Great sound overall for the niche they are designed for
Cons: -Bass is a bit lacking, but that goes with the territory at this price point, size and lack of amps/subs and so on.
I installed these on a 99 Corvette to replace the stock Bose speakers in the doors and rear deck. I am running a 18 RMS Alpine head unit, not the stock head unit. The sound was much cleaner and crisper than the Bose. Although the Bose was OK, it still had that cheap paper cone sound to it and no crisp highs whatsoever. I have had Infinity in the past and have always been pleased with their sound. It is simply a good warm natural sound for a decent price. I will say the +3 was a bit tinny to me, but that is personal preference and probably due to the fact my rear speakers are 6" from my head. Set at +0, they are perfect. As for bass, my stock system comes with 8' "woofers" and 3.5s in the doors. I replaced all of those with this 6.5 and the 6.5s beat out the 8" Bose woofers! They will not be ratteling your rear view and waking up the neighbors, but they do OK for a 6.5' midrange speaker. I will be adding a 10' sub (JL10w0v3-4) to round things out. These speakers with a small sub should hit the spot!
Pros: Good construction, ability to aim highs without having to mount remote tweeter, +3/+0 adjustment right on the speaker. Price.
Pros: easy install, good sound
First off, the build quality is great. It just feels high quality when holding it in your hand, especially the basket. Even the hardware looks high quality. Once installed it sounds awesome. I tried it with the tweeter attenuator at 0db and +3db. +3db worked better with my 600 watt sub. Still, I decided to leave it flat and just boost the tweeter at the head unit. It sounds nice and bright, but not harsh. The rotating bezel takes some time getting used to. It had no markings to say where to stop and it felt tight at times. The woofer gave good, balanced midrange and midbass. It's not bass heavy, but it sounds good. I have them crossed over at 100hz and tried them at 80hz with no problems. They include a pair of nice grilles, foam gaskets and even some nice, little infinity badges to put on the factory speaker grilles. Overall, I'm very happy and satisfied with my purchase. They're definitely worth the price.
Pros: Good build quality, 1 inch tweeter with rotating bezel, plus one woofer cone, 3 ohm
After installing another brand that was just to bright, I exchanged them for these. they had decent Bass for this size speaker and the tweeter was not as shiny as the other set which was perfect. the sound quality from my factory head unit is very good and was certainly an upgrade from the stock single cone speakers. I now have Reference speakers in my dash and rear deck. thanks Crutchfield for making exchanges easy.
Pros: good quality, good sound all around good speaker for this size unit.
Cons: the mounting hardware did not match what I needed for my dodge install. you need to have flat head screws that mount under the flange and use a nut on top. other than that Nothing
Smooth highs and well balanced sound. Bass isn't incredible, to be expected from a 6.5 " speaker. Far and away the best speakers I've had for less than 100 dollars.
Bought them for my 98 jeep to replace the factory speakers and they sound so much better
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: I really don't have any cons
Bought these to install in rear doors of a 2006 Toyota Tundra crew cab. Installation brackets provided by Crutchfield were flimsy plastic and and not up to my standards for a OEM fit and finish. Gutted old speakers and installed the Infinity speakers in old speaker housings to get proper fit and spacing. This required a good amount of fabrication including filling voids in old housing with JB Weld to create bosses to drill and secure new speakers to. Also soldered the jumper wires from housing to new speakers. When complete, the speakers fit perfectly and were sealed in the door. No road noise, wind drafts or water leaks. Spacing was perfect behind door panels. The Infinity speaker covers were not used. A definite improvement in sound over the stock speakers. I am using a Jensen Heavy Duty AM/FM/CD radio JHD1635BTB. Max power output: 180 watts (45W x 4) This radio puts out more power than stock head unit and the speakers matched up nicely. Now I need to change out the front speakers with another set of these Infinity speakers.
Pros: Good performance. Good construction quality.
Cons: No cons with the speakers or Infinity. The adapter brackets to install the speakers or cheap, flimsy plastic and don't fit properly as is the case with most of the plastic brackets made by Scosche and Metra. You are better off modifying the OEM brackets to get a trouble free fit.
2004 Nissan Xterra... Replaced my worn-out factory speakers with these the week before it turned 10yo... Couldn't justify spending a lot of money but, especially since my windows are always down, I wanted decent sound... Wow, these are SO MUCH BETTER than I expected, especially for the price... Also like to say that the customer service from Crutchfield was incredible... Website, representative I spoke to on the phone, delivery time, and detailed instructions they sent
Pros: Sound, installation, and value
Cons: That I didn't upgrade to these much sooner
Infinity makes great speakers and the cones are much more durable than the factory paper cones. Crisp and clear night end and a nice deep bass.
Pros: Great sound
Cons: Cross overs take some soldering and clipping within the doors.
I initially purchased Infinity Reference speakers for my wife's truck for her birthday. She didn't want speakers. She wanted new workout clothes. So I exchanged the speakers for ones that fit in my BMW supecar. Now I have sick beats in my car and a hot wife at the gym. Thanks Crutchfield!
Pros: These speakers are amazing. I was really worried I would have to find a way to cram my old subwoofer into the trunk of my car, but these guys took care of that. Amazing lows and clean highs.
Great sound, easy installation with some coaching from Crutchfield tech support.
Pros: Great sound, looks and installation
Cons: instructions with speakers left a lot to be desired. Crutchfield tech support however was awesome and made installation a snap.
Great replacement for my factory speakers. Although Crutchfield showed my factory speakers were a 5 1/4 round, the front door speakers were actually a 6x9. I was able to make them fit, and they sound great. Awsome speakers for the price.
Good speakers for the money invested, running off a factory amp. Have to cross over at 160 distorts at 125hz.
Pros: low power usage
Cons: can't turn up the whole way
Sounds great! a lot better then my 10+ year old factory speakers!
Awesome speakers. I bought these to get those highs and mids I been missing but was surprised by the bass that these infinitys put out, it won't knock pictures off the walls but still pretty good and hits perfectly to any music. Im waiting to add a sub as the final piece to the puzzle. I would recommend these over and over again. With the harness Crutchfield provided installing them took 20 mins and another 20 minutes of sitting in my car jamming all my music! Oh and let them break in a little everyday sounds better!
Pros: Clarity amazing mids and highs. 3d. Button on tweeter
Cons: Not a whole lot of bass but not what these are for
Installed these with visions of glory, making my average stereo sound great. I'm running a aftermarket sony xplod with some cheap kenwoods in the front. Replaced the rear factory speakers with the polks and expected a major difference. I noticed a nice difference with the highs from the tweeters but have a lot of distortion from the mids. Gave them about a 20 hr break in before I really tried to test them thinking it would sound better and there wasn't much difference. However, I will say the louder I play them the better they sound. I called Crutchfield and spoke with tech support and the told me my stereo isn't pushing enough watts for the speakers and I would need an amplifier. I do believe these speakers will sound great with the amp but didn't think I would NEED one. So now I'm stuck with these until I can afford to purchase the amp, right now I'm thinking about putting my cheap factory speakers back in. At this point I am very disappointed
Cons:Crutchfield response on January 12, 2015 When replacing factory speakers, people sometimes hear less bass but improved clarity in the mids and highs. That's not unusual. But hearing a loss of sound quality in the mids, especially when you already have an aftermarket stereo powering them, is unusual, and especially so, given the high sensitivity of these Infinity speakers. Adding the power of a small amplifier (40-50 watts) will greatly improve the sound by giving these speakers the power they need to really come to life. Remember, you have 60 days to return or exchange the speakers if you're not satisfied. Just give us a call and we'll get that set up for you. Our Customer Service reps will be glad to help in any way they can.
These speakers really wake up the sound of my 2012 Chevy Cruze. I replaced all 4 door speakers and the base is way more than factory. I still have the oem stereo and they sound very nice.
Pros: Easy to install, sound great!
Cons: These speakers don't come with any wires.
They definitely need an amp running them...also expect distortion at lower levels then 4 ohm speakers...spending the extra on the kappas is well worth it for the sound quality...it's night and day...u will still have distortion issues
These sound great. I have them in an extended cab Sierra. The rear speakers have little bass (I have a feeling that's a design in the truck not the speaker.) all around the speakers sound great. Much better than stock. Very clear. I've only had them in for a week so I'm still adjusting and fine tuning the eq on the factory radio but so far I love them.
Pros: Sound great. Very clear.
Cons: Not really any so far
Very nice sound even without amping them up yet. Easy installation.
Pros: Nice clear sound.
I purchased these as replacements for my front door speakers in my 2007 Toyota Camry. These are very high quality compared to the OEM speakers Toyota gives you. Great crisp highs, great bass as well. Goes well with my Rosen Navi HU considering I'm only getting about 25w per channel with a peak of 45.
Pros: Good highs, good bass.
I purchased some Kicker 6.5' speakers from Crutchfield and installed into the front door panel of my 2004 Toyota Camry and they sounded like crap. So, I went back to Crutchfield and ordered these as a replacement. I can't say enough good things about them. Great bass for only powering 45w / channel. If you like more bass, give these a go - you won't be disappointed! I have no need to add a sub, these are so good. As always, Crutchfield shipping is fast, and included everything I needed to install!
Pros: Great bass response compared to Kicker 6.5" speakers previously ordered
Cons: Can't find any yet.
These speakers are absolutely amazing they sound incredible and are so clear and last a long time
Pros: they were so easy to install and have great bass for the size , and are just the best bang for your buck
Cons: Their is none that I have found
These speakers sound incredible! I spoke with a Crutchfield advisor and viewed the manufacturer video posted on the Crutchfield Web site to help decide on these speakers. And am I glad I "listened". Great installation instructions as well.
These speakers sound way better than the stock 6x9's they replaced. They don't have a lot of bass, but that's what the 10" shallow mount kicker box under the back seat is for.
Pros: Great sounding speakers, the bass no longer sounds like its just coming from the rear.
These speakers replaced the blown originals in the doors of my Santa Fe. The system sounds better than ever.
Pros: All good
good sound in a small speaker
Pros: good for small space
Cons: needs more base
Awesome 6.5 coaxial for the price
Pros: Easy fit into Subaru Forester rear doors
While the speakers do provide a marginal improvement in sound quality over the stock units they are 3 ohm vs the 2 ohm of the OEM which means I have to drive the stock head unit that much harder to obtain the same volume levels. As the NV200 is a relatively loud vehicle that simple leads to the stereo's output breaking up sooner. In particular, mid-bass frequencies easily cause massive distortion. Over all, I don't think the speakers were a worth-while improvement over stock. Perhaps as part of a larger upgrade where I was adding a better head unit and/or amp(s) and/or sub(s) they would be OK, but as a simple stock replacement they did not impress. FWIW, they are not a drop-in replacement for the NV200, but will fit with minor work.
Pros: improved bass response over stock
Cons: 3 ohm vs stock 2 ohm means you drive the stock head unit harder to get same volume levels and distort the amp sooner.
I was a little nervous about installing my own speakers, having always paid someone to do it for me. But the Crutchfield staff really helped make it a great experience. I was quite please with my work when I finished. While the stereo itself should probably be replaced, the new speakers are helping with the overall sound quality.
Pros: Great sound and response.
Cons: None yet
I own a 2013 VW Jetta TDI , and while I love the car , the sound system was pretty mediocre. I decided to add some new speakers to improve the sound quality without changing the clean factory looks of the interior. I used the "fit my car" search refining option and chose the 6502ix's from infinity because I wanted the improved bass from the larger cone plus the extra clarity from dedicated tweeters that can be aimed up and out of the bottom of the door where the factory mounts are. I am not much of a do-it-yourself type of person ,but I thought I might give it a try . The speakers came with all of the stuff I needed and installing them took about 1 hour on the drivers door. ( going slowly and carefully, the driver's side door has a lot more wiring connections to unhook, power windows , mirror , door locks and security light.) The other doors took about 30 mins. apiece and when I was done , everything still looked "factory original" , but the sound was great!! I am a very satisfied customer!!
Pros: Had to make one phone call to get some help with finding a hidden torx screw. The customer help guy was patient and knew exactly what to do and explained it to me in about a minute and a half!! I would suggest that a newbie like me should do the install while the Crutchfield customer service line is available. They turned a "What do I do now?" moment into a confidence builder. I will do this again next time , it was actually fun and I love the results!
The speakers installed easily. They sound great the tweeters have +2 db boost that was nice since I installed them in the rear deckof my car.
Factory front speakers went out, requiring replacement. Great sound even backed by the factory radio. Small amount of clearance between woofer surround and door panel at full extension, this should not be a problem for normal volume listening. If so just trim away a bit of the door panel opening, its hidden behind the factory grill anyway.
Pros: Simple Install. Clean Sound
Cons: Two gaskets, only one of which you get instructions on using, the second is for the mounting ring, use it as a buffer between the door and mounting ring you mount the speaker with.
I purchased and installed these speakers to replace the OEM speakers in the front doors of my 2012 Toyota Tacoma. The difference is substantial. Good and crisp on the high end and surisingly complete on the bottom end. I read several reveiws that complained about the lack of low end on these speakers. To my mind that can only come from unreasonable expectations and a lack of knowledge of what good bass response should be. This speaker will not shake the windows of the car next to you, but I think the sound is very, very good.
Pros: Great sound Easy install with the kit from Crutchfield.
These Infinity speakers sound great and fit perfectly in my 2013 Avalanche. I like the directional tweeter attached to the speaker. Provides a full range and deep base unlike the OEM speakers supplied with the truck.
Pros: Fit my doors well with the adapter supplied by Crutchfield. Sound is great with the Alpine head unit and Alpine amp in my 2013 Avalanche.
Cons: Could not use the grill covers with my doors, but was not a big deal for me.
installed in my 2003 chevy silverado easy to install and sound great mids and highs are awesome don't expect a lot of bass but these are a great improvement over oem speakers highly recommend !!!
Pros: perfect full range door speakers sound is great no complaints
Great quality speakers! I read many reviews on various brands and decided to go with the Infinity's. These speakers did not disappoint. I put them in the rear doors of my 2007 Silverado to replace factory ones. The installation was easy and sound is booming! For a 6.5" speaker these have all kinds of base and treble with the factory stereo. Everyone wants the deep base from a sub in a speaker this size and they deliver for a 6.5".
Pros: Ease of install, base and optional tweeter control
These were installed in the rear doors of a 2007 Honda Fit. Given the size of the magnet structure of these speakers, it required doubling of the mounting brackets (included plus those from Crutchfield) to avoid having to cut the doors. These are rear speakers, so can't comment on the sound much (I sit in front), but the existing Honda Speakers have a magnet structure the size of a quarter. Speakers had everything necessary to mount properly. Being able to adjust the direction of the tweeter is a plus, as they are located very low and forward in this vehicle.
Pros: Value, flexibility to aim tweeter (rotatable), quality of mounting hardware.
Made a huge difference in my 2003 Chevy Silverado.
Pros: Price Sound Quality
One factor in my purchase was the excellent customer service I received when I had an issue with a wiring harness I purchased from Crutchfield. These speakers were connected to a JVC KW-HDR81BT head unit and a factory installed amp. Installation was a snap (front door installation), thanks to the Crutchfield Advisor information that matches products with your automobile model. The free wiring harness saved several minutes and was one less thing to screw up. Late model cars are so much easier to work with compared to classic cars because the door panels are simple to remove. In all, installation time was about 45 minutes per door. I'm still tweaking my sound settings and the JVC head unit is highly tweakable. But so far I've been impressed with the sound. Bass is fine for me. The limiting factor for bass is physics; you're only going to get so much out of 6.75". If you want the very bottom, then you need a subwoofer. The OEM speakers that I removed had partial plastic enclosures on them. I think after market makers should consider developing them for their products. These speakers are a very good value for money. Tough to beat.
Pros: - Very crisp in the mid and hi range. - Satisfactory bass performance. - Installation was a breeze. Plenty of extra screws and clips if you need them. - The included stick on badges were a nice touch when using existing door panel grills.
Cons: - Manufacturers should consider offering enclosures with the speakers.
Never even got to hear the speakers because they would not fit into the kick panels of my classic car without having to cut structural metal to install them, which was a bummer. The car is a convertible, so they won't do any good by installig them in the back seat. I wouldn't be able to hear them anyway.
Pros: Supposed to be a great sounding speaker. Never heard them...
Cons: Won't fit in a 1970 Olds Convertible without structural changes.
Installed in my Chevy Silverado regular cab front doors, sound is great for a small speaker. They do produce a fair amount of base for their size in my truck.
Pros: Tweeters can be directed upward for a more direct sound from seating position.
Cons: Plastic speaker adapter supplied for free breaks very easy.
I got these for a 07 Honda Civic. Even though Crutchfield says it fits with a bracket, it doesn't. Does not clear torsion bar in trunk without raising speakers with bracket and spacers/washers. I enjoy these speakers very much. The mid's and highs are superb. The bass is also excellent for a 6.5" speaker. When researching these speakers and reading reviews I saw many complaints about the bass which almost steered me away. I took a chance and turned out more than pleased with the bass of the speakers. If you are looking for a natural/true bass these are awesome. If you are looking to rattle the trunk these are not for you.
Pros: Crutchfield support. Great overall sound.
Cons: metal used for connecting +/- ports is a little flimsy. No idea where to put the little "infinity" stickers that came with the speakers.
the speakers look good but the is not as good as I expected
Pros: good highs and mids
Cons: not enough bass
These were recommended to me from a Crutchfield advisor for a decent system with no sub. I'd say half of that recomendation was right. These speakers have crystal clear highs and mids, but the bass just simply seems lacking in my opinion. You can hear the bass, but it's not got a ton a presence in the sound. These would be great paired with a subwoofer
Pros: Crystal clear highs and mids
Cons: Needs more bass
These are really good aftermarket speakers for my chevy tahoe. I put them on the front and rear doors the sound is so much better than the stock speakers great bass.
Pros: Easy installation
These speakers are great. The sound is so clear and I haven't been able to hear any distortion yet even at high volumes. These speakers surprisingly push out a lot of bass. It's not the really low end bass that's gonna shake your entire vehicle but that's not what these speakers are for. Overall I'm very pleased with these speakers.
Pros: Very clear sound (lows and highs), no distortion, lots of bass
Cons: Not really a con, but these aren't the greatest for really low bass frequencies. If you really want that you need a sub.
These speakers sound great! I originally purchased a pair of MTX on recommendation by Crutchfield. I was very unhappy with the sound quality. I replaced them with these. They sound 10X better than the MTX. They also have decent bass. Although they work well with my Kenwood receiver, I am going to add an amp.
Pros: High quality speaker! Great sound!
I installed a epicenter and the bass is so hard that I. Needed more music. Since I already had 6 infinity speakers I decided to place these new 6 1/2 s on the doors and the pair that were removed went to the rear deck but closest to the side panels as posible and this added more sound on the back fill and the new ones on the doors sound fantastic! Thanks Crutchfield!!
Pros: Covered the old speakers space just right and the tweeter adjustment adds life to the front sound.
Great product, I wish it had a bit more bass but I'm not really complaining. Love the sound of Infinity Speakers. Great purchase!
Pros: Clarity...solid sound
Cons: cracks under pressure of a headunit.
Fit and installation were perfect especially with the Crutchfield downloaded instruction which was specific for my vehicle. Sound quality of these new speakers is far superior to the OEM speakers.
Pros: Easy to install. Fit was perfect.
Cons: Small con was the factory speaker wire connector had to be cut off and I had to make new connections. Not a big deal I know.
I replaced the worn out speakers in my 2003 Silverado with these speakers. The installation was pretty easy with the helpful links on the website. The speakers sound great and I couldn't be happier. I might just look into a new radio in the future to go with the new speakers.
Installed 2 sets of speakers in our Class A motorhome -one set in front cabinets over driver/passenger area and second set in cabinets over bed in rear of coach. Each set sounded different driven by the cabinet size. Front cabinets were deeper giving more bass but muffled sound. Cup your hands around your mouth as if you were going to shout at someone - this is what it sounded like. This was easily fixed by buying polyfill at Walmart and loosely stuffing the cabinets. Add/delete polyfill stuffing to achieve your desired baseline sound quality with stereo treble/bass tone settings at zero. Rear speakers sounded great with no tweaking required. Yes I would buy them again. These speakers greatly improved our factory speakers!
Pros: Love the angled tweeters & 3db gain option to direct sound where I want it. Grill design makes for easy installation - it pops off allowing easy access to 4 mounting screws. Additional gasket material included provides a nice seal option.
Excellent sounding speaker. Used to replace the stock speakers in a 2005 Jeep Liberty. They sound great. Hooked up to the stock amplifiers in the doors. I left the stock dash speakers in. I will either disconnect them or replace them if they go bad.
Pros: Good price, came with adapters to fit the doors. Crutchfield sent additional adapters that I didn't need.
If you're looking for brilliant clear high end check these out! The +3 db button for the tweeters really brings the sizzle of high hats to life.
AWSOME ,would buy again
Pros: EZ Install
Great value on an outstanding speaker!
Pros: Quality Price
Installed this speaker system in my 2012 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab. Very easy to do with included instruction sheets, brackets and wire harness adapters. sounds great even with a factory radio still installed and no amp. Clean and crisp through out the sound level from low to high. Replaced both front and rear door speakers with this model.
Pros: All the free gear you get with your order, brackets for oe style install, and wire harness adapters.
The Infinity REF-6502ix 6.5"/6.75" 2-Way Car Speaker is an excellent choice to replace OEM front door speakers in a 2006 Chevy Silverado. The OEM speaker is mounted in a bracket that holds the speaker in the door and lifts the speaker to fill the gap between the speaker and the door panel speaker opening. The OEM speaker has a foam face that seals to the door panel opening. There is be a gap between the aftermarket Infinity speakers and the door panel opening of about .8 inches. I installed the speakers straight to the door. I ended up going with 0 db on the tweeters and with them orientated down and slightly facing forward. You really can't appreciate the speaker's performance from listening to the radio. You need to play a CD to really appreciate the sound quality. At half volume, I'm ready to get run out of the cab. At that level there zero distortion. I used weather seal foam tape to seal the Infinity speakers to the door panel. I figured if I didn't seal the speaker, like the OEM's were sealed, I'd be losing some sound to the door panel void because there's a gap between the Infinity and the door panel. I used Duck brand .5 inch thick by .75 inch wide weather seal self adhesive foam and applied it at the door around the speaker outside edge and at the door panel around the speaker opening.
Pros: Great sound. Great value.
Installed in a Hummer H3, front doors.Full bodied sound, very efficient. Nice punch in the bottom freqs. Smooth and natural up top. Part of a complete system change out.
Pros: Easy installation with the Crutchfield supplied hardware and Mastersheets.
I installed these speakers in my 2008 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab P/U and they are a good upgrade from the factory speakers. I am using the factory head unit with these and they sound great! Installation wasn't a problem using the instructions supplied from Crutchfield. If you do not have plastic trim tools to remove the door panels I would suggest getting them from Crutchfield so you don't damage your door panels while removing them.
Pros: Sound great!
Pros: easy to hook up
My 2008 Sierra Extended cab pickup has the speakers mounted in the lower door panels, right on the floorboards. This really kills the high end. I tried a couple of speakers that had really good sound in other vehicles, but they just sounded really "muddy" , even with tweeters installed in the sail panels, due to the low speaker placement in my truck. These Infinitys were recommended, I replaced all 4 speakers and I am really pleased with the sound. They have a switch to increase the tweeter +3 db and also rotate the tweeter upwards. These have really brought out the sound of the Kenwood DDX419 head unit. You can't really expect a lot of base with any 6.5 in the door panels and I do use a 12" sub.
Pros: Great performance for the price. High end adjustable +3 db.
Cons: Doesn't come with any speaker wire, in case you have to run any extra.
Initially I thought it was the amp, but I spent 2 hours rewiring into the deck. Still sound like garbage.
Pros: They work, at barely audible volume level
Cons: They distort at any level.
Speakers was very easy to install, using the adapter included. My daughter loves the sound of her new speakers. Installed it in a 2005 Honda Pilot front and rear doors.........
Very easy to install. Sound much better than I imagined. Very clean and accurate response. No harshness to them at all. Very pleased. Also, this was a recommendation from Crutchfield - I agree with their recommendation.
Great sound quality, easy install.
I replaced my factory speakers in a Honda Pilot with 2 pairs of the Infinity 6502ix. I also added a Sound Ordinance Subwoofer and and Alpine head unity. I listen to jazz, folk, rock. I don't run the volume up to ear splitting levels but I enjoy a full sound experience. These speakers work great for me. They installed with a little modification to the factory speaker plastic housing. The instructions from Crutchfield were excellent. I am really glad I bought these.
Pros: Great sound, great price
These are a great upgrade to my2007 Camry. The original system just did not have clear highs, these Infinity speakers plugged right in using the provided adapters and are exacty what I was missing.
For the price these speakers are great. They sound fantasic.
Installed both front and rear Speaker. They sound very nice much better than the stock ones. The front Speaker came with mounts and a wiring harness very easy to install The rear Speaker did not come with mount had to rework the GM mounts. (not a real big deal) If I were to do it again I would get the 51/4 speaker for the rear they would be much easier to install. Overall with the detailed information that Crutchfield provided on how to remove the door panels thing went very smooth
Pros: Great information very easy to follow instruction
Cons: None I will buy again from Crutchfield
nice set of speakers, I put 4 of them in my daughters VW Passat with a monsoon factory head unit and the sound is so much better and crisper with deeper bass... I figured we did good with this choice when she got in her car and turned on the radio and gave me a big smile
Pros: well built and attractive and sound great
These speakers are simply amazing! I replaced my blown factory speakers with these in the front doors and kept the factory 6x9s in the back deck. Installation was a breeze. I downloaded step by step instructions on how to take the doors off online and the infinity's fit perfectly with the bracket from Crutchfield. Even with the factory head unit these speakers are loud! Crisp highs and definite mids. The bass is wonderful. These are large door speakers and so they can produce much more bass than say a 5.25in speaker. Why pay for more expensive speakers!?
Pros: Easy installation, crisp sound, hits highs and mids flawlessly, impressive bass, directional tweeters, look cool, great price for impressive speakers
Cons: Wish I could install an after market head unit to hear these speakers full potential. New head unit=more power
Love the speakers, exactly what I was looking for. Caught the special buy one and get one free; could not pass it up. Customer service is totally awesome; the main reason why I will continue to shop and recommend Crutchfield.
I have a 2010- corolla and the factory speakers did not have enough highs, even with the trebbile turned all the way up. I replaced them with these and the factory speakers actually sounded better! The magnet on the factory speaker was about the size of a quarter. I put one of the new speakers in on the left and left the stock on the right and listened to them both and the factory speaker out performed this set. Since I already spent the money on the speakers I am going to install a aftermarket head unit and hopefully it will help! The stock toyota unit is not the jbl unit.
Pros: The wire adaptor and brackets fit ok.
Cons: Sounds worse then the factory speakers with the stock head unit.
Very easy to install in the rear deck o my Honda Civic Hybrid, with the supplied adapter. Huge improvement in sound. The magnet is absolutely massive, especially compared to that on the old speakers. The highs are crystal clear, even with the road noise traveling at highway speed.
Not as great as the reviews stated installed sound not there, unless its my factory stereo just not impressed. Ordered a new subwoofer maybe this will make a difference and change my mind but I dont know.
Pros: Not much there
Cons: Very low on the base side sound not as clear as i would have expected
I always put Infinity speakers in my vehicles. The one time I didn't I regretted it and now having ditched those speakers and put these in. I remember why. Its the quality and clarity of sound. They might be higher cost then some out there and not always have sales but they are worth every penny no matter when you get a hold of them. My last pair was in my Accord coup and I couldn't push them hard enough to ever damage them so I know what I was getting when I put these in. You wont regret purchasing these. Comes with all the needed hardware and stuff you wouldn't have thought as well.
Pros: For me its the little things that impress me with these speakers. - Variable angle Tweeters!! Real plus so you can direct the sound where you want it. - +3db gain to boost highs when you have the speakers in a low position such as kick panels or behind seats. - Comes with sound insulation foam to place around the speaker so you can prevent vibration feedback on the mounts in the door. Not every company does this. - Logos on sticky tape so you can proudly display the brand in your car.
Cons: None that I have found.
The is the start of many upgrades I have planned for my 08 Chevy cobalt. The sound is great considering I'm still using my factory head unit. Highs and miss are amazing and decent bass. Only thing I didn't like was having to drill new holes to mount the speakers but overall great purchase.
Pros: Great sound quality Very good value for the money Mids and highs very crisp
Cons: Had to drill holes for the mounting
I purchased these because of all the positive reviews. Everyone is right. These are very nice speakers. Love at first vibration.
I have a 2008 Silverado with a factory head unit. After reading the reviews I decided to give these a try, and wow... these are impressive.
Pros: Good highs and good bass.
Easy factory replacement install
Pros: Great sound.
These speakers are just amazing. I installed them the front doors of a 2008 350Z using the old speaker/bracket to mount them; the bracket supplied by Crutchfield does not fit. The sound is so much better after putting these in.
Pros: Excellent bass!
Cons: Installation manual is really just pictures and small ones at that.
Can't believe how much better these speakers sound with my factory system. Even the bass is better and the clarity at high volume is 100% improvement. 2008 Silverado Standard cab with factory XM Radio, CD, Aux input, not Bose.
Wanted a nice set of speakers for doors on my old faithful 2000 Nissan Frontier King Cab. Just put a new Pioneer HD 4400 hed receiver in it and wanted a nice set of speakers to match up with it. Factory speakers were pretty horrible, and most of the 6 1/2" speakers weren't very highly regarded for having much bass. Crutchfield rep recommended these Infinity speakers, so I ordered some. (thanks Levi) I'm very happy with these speakers. Most smaller speakers like these are usually way overbalanced to the high side. Many sound downright tinny. Was pleasantly surprised at the full sound that these speakers produce. Especially after tweaking the audio to fit the interior space in my truck. Never distorted even at high volumes. Surprisingly decent bass for such small speakers. Easy to install, didn't even need adapter as they fit right into the factory bracket. Even used the same screws to put new speakers in. Wiring harnesses supplied are nice, super easy connection. If you're looking to replace your crappy factory speakers in your doors, and don't want to spend a fortune, I would recommend these without hesitation.
Pros: Great full sound, nice mid range. Not bad bass for 6 1/2" speakers.
Cons: The little 3 Db booster button on the tweeter is kinda unnecessary.
Installed them in the rear deck of my Volvo S60. They deliver punchy bass and painful high frequencies. The ability to angle the tweeters helps to bounce the highs off the rear window and into my ears. Working in conjunction with a Sound Ordnance sub in the trunk, the rear compartment has come alive.
Pros: Adjustable tweeter angle
These speakers sound great and were easy to install. Only basic tools and moderate handyman skills needed. My only complaint is that neither the Crutchfield nor the Infinity instructions and pictures were very clear so it took me awhile to figure out how to attach the speakers with the brackets and ensure they would not produce a vibrating sound. Also, they did not include any screws from Crutchfield and I could not use they existing screws nor the ones from Infinity so I had to go out and buy my own. I also had to drill the holes a little bigger in the cover to accommodate the new screws.
Pros: Sounds great. Easy to install.
Cons: Instructions/pictures not detailed enough. Needed hardware not included.
These speakers improved the sound over the stock speakers tremendously. The highs and mids are much cleaner and the bass is full but not distorted. I do not have a subwoofer in my car.
I got these on the "buy one pair get the 2nd pair half off" sale... I'd be willing to pay full price for both pairs! They sound great and are a huge improvement over the crappy stock Alpines in my '06 Pilot. They are being powered by a Pioneer AVH-P4400BH and they're a great pair. They fit perfect in the doors; I had to cut the back of the stock mounting bracket but I knew that going into it. I started by cutting a little, then a little more.... do yourself a favor and just cut everything off the actual mounting ring. The first door took me about 40 minutes and the remaining doors took about 15.
Pros: Great sound, great price, easy install.
Cons: NONE! BUY THEM NOW!
Bad s-- speaker
Cons: Not a one.
Great sound out of these. They replaced my wife's factory speakers that were all but dead. Stock stereo doesn't run enough power to take full advantage of these great speakers, but I could upgrade if I wanted to now.
I've driven a GMC jimmy and a subaru, both with limited space for speakers in the backdoors. To get the specs I was looking for, I went through 3 pairs of Infinity reference shallow mounts in the last 5 years. They sounded good right up until death. I went to look into something different this time, and these had just released. I must say, they have to be some of the best performing 6 1/2s I've worked with. Highs are clear, but not shrill, Mids are perfect, and the bass response is solid. I cut off at 120 hz from a head unit spitting out 22 watts, and am thouroughly impressed.
Pros: Everything. Fit, size, sound, price...
Purchased these speakers to replace the factory back deck speakers which were falling apart. These speakers were a great fit and sound much better than the originals. The factory system ran on a lower ohm so it was important to get speakers that matched, these fit the bill.
Pros: Great fit, Great sound
Cons: They don't show as fitting the vehicle if you do a vehicle specific search. It is a 2000 BMW 328Ci and they fit perfectly.
Upgraded my RV living room speakers. My RV sound system is fairly decent, but four very poor quality speakers. The Infinity 6502ix's Really make a difference!
Pros: Clarity and dynamics of the sound, easy installation, and great price--received the "Buy One and Get One Half Off" special--Sweet!
The Infinity brand is always good, and even better when the price is right. Total cost for the pair of speakers, with mounting brackets that fit the 3-bolt opening of the 1993 Mazda MX-3, for this price. In comparison to the worn stock speakers which were still equipped in the vehicle, they are amazing, naturally. The tweeters are crisp and clear, mid-range is pronounced, and bass is very apparent. Installation was very easy, however, we did not receive any speaker harness, though it wasn't a problem to pop off the MX-3's OE speaker connector and crimp the brass connectors to the speakers. Overall, we are definitely pleased with this purchase, and will be purchasing these same speakers for the rear as well.
Pros: Price, sound quality, volume handling, ease of installation, clean looking grill, supplied speaker baffling, +3/+0 dB button.

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and increased efficiency.
Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.
Textile Dome Tweeters (UniPivot Design): Each speaker uses an edge-driven textile dome tweeter for smooth, accurate highs. The UniPivot design mounts the tweeter at an angle and pivots, so the tweeter can be pointed at the listeners, optimizing the stereo image for a more uniform response. The tweeter housing can be turned approximately 315 degrees.
Tweeter Level Control: A switch on the front of the tweeter allows you to boost the tweeter output to +3dB, useful if the speakers are mounted low in a door where high frequencies are easily absorbed.
True Four Ohm Impedance Technology: The speaker's 3-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of your speaker wire provides a true 4-ohm load to your connected head unit or amplifier.
Power Handling: Although Infinity rates the 6502ix speakers at 60 watts RMS (continuous average), they also recommend amplifiers with a power rating from 5 to 125 watts RMS.
Mounting: Without an adapter, the 6502ix speakers fit standard 6-3/4" applications. Given their required cutout, they will also fit standard 3-hole 6-1/2" and 4-hole 6-1/2" applications without an adapter, but new screw holes must be drilled. Using the included adapter brackets they can be mounted in a variety of 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" applications, without any modification.
