Larger woofer for more bass

The REF-9602ix appeals to bassheads too, with tough polypropylene woofers and durable hi-roll rubber surrounds that deliver strong low-frequency performance. Each Plus One+ woofer sports a significantly larger cone than speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker's smooth and accurate highs.

Great for any power supply

You can power these speakers with up to 100 watts of RMS power — they'll work great with an external amplifier, but they're also sensitive enough to be a good match for a factory or aftermarket stereo. Plus, Infinity comes up with a safe way to get a little more power out of your system — these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your car so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance. Grilles are included along with Infinity logo badges that can be attached to your factory grilles.

These are a great addition to my stereo, had to modify my rear deck to make fit, just cut out an oval circle in the carpet board,

Tim, Halethorpe, MD

2001 Pontiac Bonneville
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I chose these as a replacement for a set of 3 way alpines I ordered by mistake. Took my time and researched these and a few others. I wanted a good quality 2 way speaker with a solid bass responce and a warm tweeter. In my 2001 Bonneville and my Kenwood headunit these fit the bill perfect. I'm not currently running an amp but these will allow me to. Fit is perfect and they perform amazing. I am able to get a tight drum hit all the way to booming rumbling out of these. I chose a set from the scratch n dent section of crutchfield and I found it a great choice. speaker looked brand new except for a connector that was slightly bent. other than that the speaker was new. The tweeters in these pivot and allow great imaging. If you are able to use speaker grilles these include a set that totally enhances their appearance. I am unable to use them because of my car's configuration but hey it's still a cool set of grilles. I will and do recommend these speakers to everyone I know thats looking for a set. Just beautiful all around sound that will hit good and hard. Can't wait for the amp now

Pros: powerful sound, warm highs and great looks

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These 6x9's are installed in the rear deck of my 72 Charger along with a set of matching 3 1/2" speakers in the center of the front dash. I am more than pleased with these speakers. I have a Sony head unit pushing through a 400 watt Rockford amp. I wanted clarity and fullness of sound and I got it with these speakers. Bass is nice and strong, mids and highs are clear. I was surprised being they are only 2 way speakers. Using bass boost at very low volume, and going flat at highest volume lets these speakers really perform. I am pleased.

Pros: Fullness of sound and great bass

Cons: None really, the 6x9 speaker grille will have to be trimmed to fit next to the rear seat back, if that is a con or not? Just getting picky.

Outstanding speakers

2014 Dodge Charger
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Even though the site said these speakers would not fit, they went in just fine. The sound qualities of these speakers are night and day better than the so call "premium Alpine System that came with the car. Clarity and proper bass is what these speakers bought to my Dodge Charger. This was money well spent for sure. Also a special thanks to my product advisor from Crutchfield for all of his help. If you are looking for some proper 6x9 speakers don't hesitate to buy these.

Pros: Solid build, huge magnet, great tweeter. Speaker just reeks high quality.

Cons: Not really a con but, these speakers will fit in a 2014 Dodge Charger!

2013 Toyota 4Runner
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Pretty good speakers. I knew going in that they wouldn't fit the front doors of my 2013 Toyota 4runner without some tweaking. I made a pair of adapters from MDF and they fit fine. Because they're high in sensitivity and low in impedence, they worked fine with the stock head unit. Seem solidly built. Much better sound than the stock speakers.

Pros: Good build quality, good sound. Much improved bass. Compatible with stock head units.

Cons: None.

Awesome

I used these to replace the front door speakers in my 2007 Dodge Ram. Powered by a Rockford P1000x5D these speakers sound AMAZING! Crisp highs and hard hitting, teeth vibrating lows! I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for great all around sound!

Pros: Crisp highs, clean bass

Cons: None

The Best

Written by: EagleWindSpirit from Dallas, TX on January 12, 2013

Had these installed in my 2012 Toyota 4runner SR5 in the front doors. They sound incredible with the factory stereo and don't see a need to change my stereo head unit. The bass vibrates the door and rear view mirrors, and that's without an amplifier, just the stock radio. I used the factory speaker frames (after cutting the guts out) to mount these. Fit perfect without modifying the door panel grills.

Pros: Awesome efficiency as even compared to factory speakers plus much more clear mids and highs and an actual boost to the bass believe it or not. The installer was even shocked.

Cons: None, not sure why anyone would give this product bad reviews. Take my word on it, I am a musician and audio electronics expert.

Features

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and increased efficiency.

Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.

Textile Dome Tweeters (UniPivot Design): Each speaker uses an edge-driven textile dome tweeter for smooth, accurate highs. The UniPivot design mounts the tweeter at an angle and pivots, so the tweeter can be pointed at the listeners, optimizing the stereo image for a more uniform response. The tweeter housing can be turned approximately 315 degrees.

Tweeter Level Control: A switch on the front of the tweeter allows you to boost the tweeter output to +3dB, useful if the speakers are mounted low in a door where high frequencies are easily absorbed.

True Four Ohm Impedance Technology: The speaker's 3-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of your speaker wire provides a true 4-ohm load to your connected head unit or amplifier.

Power Handling: Although Infinity rates the 9602ix speakers at 100 watts RMS (continuous average), they also recommend amplifiers with a power rating from 5 to 200 watts RMS.
