High-tech CMMD™ drivers for exhilarating performance

Infinity Reference RS152 surround speakers

The RS152's rear-facing woofer and angled tweeters deliver enveloping surround sound that fills the room.

Infinity Reference speakers owe their open, natural sound to Infinity's patented Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm driver material. CMMD combines layers of ceramic with a stiff metal core for crystal-clear sonic performance. It's strong and durable, yet incredibly lightweight and responsive to provide the accuracy needed to hear your surround sound the way it was intended.

The RS152's two 1" CMMD dome tweeters deliver crisp, sparkling highs. Their Advanced Waveguide design provides better high-frequency dispersion for smooth, seamless sound. The speakers' tight, responsive bass and dynamic midrange come courtesy of Infinity's rear-firing 5-1/4" CMMD high-output woofers and sealed enclosures. Infinity carefully computer-optimized the crossover networks, as well as each driver's position within the cabinet, to ensure the most  precise, natural, and stable imaging and soundstaging possible.

Features

2-Way Speaker Design: The Infinity Reference series RS152 surround loudspeaker utilizes a two-way speaker design with two 1" CMMD tweeters on opposite sides of the cabinet that feature advanced image control waveguides and a single rear-firing 5.25" CMMD high-output woofer for wide-dispersion sound.

Advanced Image Control Waveguide: The RS152's tweeters utilize an advanced image control waveguide to deliver, more even high frequency response, no matter what part of the room you're in. The unique geometry of this waveguide delivers remarkable high frequency detail, imaging, and natural balance at nearly any listening position in a broad range of acoustic environments.

CMMD Technology: Infinity utilizes Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (CMMD) technology in the tweeter and woofer that is much stiffer with more damping than standard metal speaker diaphragms.

  • For the tweeters, CMMD technology offers superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes, that provides a significant boost to the high frequency range.
  • For the woofer, CMMD offers exceptional pistonic operation over the entire usable range of the driver, completely eliminating unwanted coloration and distortion of the sound.

Acoustic Suspension Cabinet: The Infinity Reference series bookshelf loudspeaker utilizes an acoustic suspension (sealed) enclosure for greater accuracy. The Infinity RS152 employs a extremely low resonance enclosure, so you hear the music exactly as it was intended. The RS152 features a black wood grain vinyl cabinet that matches almost any decor. The speaker comes with a removable black cloth grille with a rigid plastic frame.

Binding Posts: The 5-way binding posts will accept bare wire, pin connectors, spade connectors, banana plugs, and dual banana plugs. The speaker's binding posts are color-coded (red/black) for easy identification between positive and negative.

Mounting Options: The Infinity RS152 comes with four self-adhesive rubber feet for each speaker to help secure them in place to prevent slippage and vibration on AV stand or shelf. The Infinity Reference series surround speaker also features an integrated wall-mount bracket with two key-hole slots that allow you to attach the speaker to your side or rear wall (wall-mount screws not included).

Note: A wall-mount template is supplied. Keyhole slots are spaced 4" apart.

Applications: The Infinity RS152 loudspeakers can be used as surround or surround back speakers in a home theater application. They can be positioned along the side or back wall.
