These GT7-5 speakers from JBL have everything you want when shopping for a car speaker: an advanced design, quality materials, a cool look, and a practical price tag. But in the end, it's what they sound like that matters most, and true to their iconic heritage, these JBLs deliver.
In spite of their size, these 5-1/4" speakers always kick out plentiful midbass, thanks to their patented Plus One™ architecture which expands the surface area of the polypropylene woofer cone. Balanced dome tweeters handle the high notes with ease, especially when powered by an aftermarket radio or amp. JBL built these GT7 speakers to handle up to 35 watts RMS, but with a design geared toward maximum efficiency, you'll gain superior performance even from a factory radio. Grilles are included for a custom installation.
The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.
Easy installation took me 15 minutes a door.and speakers sound great going to buy a pair for the rear
Pros: Easy do it yourself
Cons: None I could find
great factory replacement, works well with GM factory radio.Original speakers 17 yrs old and outer edge of cones had deteriorated and were crackling,so most definitely an improvement.
Great speakers. They sound amazing! And they're super easy to install.
These are awesome speakers for the price. Good quality and they sound great. I did have to mess around a little to get them to work with my vehicle. But then again I never got the "adapter" plate since these sayears on the website they don't work with my vehicle. Definitely recommend though. 02 GMC Envoy
Pros: Sounds great, good price
high quality sound system, highly recommended
Great sound for the budget minded, installation was easy with the Crutchfield provided instructions
Pros: They are a great improvement over the factory installed speakers.
Cons: The plastic adapters were universal so they didn't quite fit. Had to drill some holes in the door.
I with these speakers had the same clarity as the matching components. There's a certain muddiness to them. They my rear door fill speakers so it's not totally critical they sound amazing. More importantly they seem to deliver a little more low bass thud than the fronts, although at 5.25" you're never going to really feel it. Get a sub.
Pros: Fine for the price
Cons: Somewhat muddy
Nice speakers, but I am returning them. I installed these in the rear doors of my 2016 Forester and hoped to power them off the stock headunit. They were clearer than the stock speakers, but were too anemic sounding. The stock HU could not power them to my satisfaction. I tried connecting my amp, and then the speakers sounded great, full and much improved over the stock ones. However, I don't amp my rear speakers, so I'll put something else there, or just leave the stock ones in. FYI the adapters included did not fit the Subaru 3 screw mounting points. One screw hole has to be drilled. Crutchfield tech support confirmed this, so not exactly a plug and play install.
Pros: Quality construction, clean sounding. Full and rich when provided proper power (amp likely needed).
Cons: My weak Subaru headunit could not power them to my satisfaction without an external amp.
Great, bass hits and sounds clear
Pros: great bass and crisp clear sound quality
Cons: A pain to install
great sound, nice and clear
Was hoping better results with these brand
Solid improvement over my stock speakers, well build, good fit, just fine.
Great sound and power at a reasonable price, fits perfectly in my 03 jeep w
Pros: great sound
speaker sound was not an improvement from stock speakers in my Jeep Wrangler, one of the speakers does not work properly.
Pros: decent sounding speakers
Cons: one speaker does not work properlyCrutchfield response on March 24, 2015 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
I ordered these for my company work truck that only had 2 speakers. They were a great addition to my cab. They sound really good for the price and I would definitely recommend them
Pros: Well constructed Shipped quickly Comes with mounting plates
Amazing how sound. Made a great buy. The highs and lows sound great!
Decent speakers for the price i suppose. The 6x9's aren't any better either. Thinking of upgrading to a better set of speakers.
Cons: not so good with the highs and lows.
These were an excellent upgrade over the stock roll bar speakers in a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. We can definitely hear both the highs and lows better and do not notice any distortion at louder volumes like we sometimes need with the top removed from the Jeep.
Pros: Bass improvement over stock is very noticeable
Cons: None yet
Don't waste your money. These speakers sound worse than the factory ones in my 2014 Jeep Wrangler. Very dissapointed.
Cons:Crutchfield response on September 10, 2014 Our Tech Support team reached out to the customer to see if there's anything we can do to help improve the sound in his Jeep. His factory speakers were a little bigger in size, so these new JBLs probably sound like he's lost some bass. And if he's not satisfied, he's protected by our 60-day money back guarantee.he can return the speakers for a full refund.

Plus One Woofer Cones: The Plus One speaker cones offer more surface area than other speakers that fit in the same size opening. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The result is greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.
Balanced Dome Tweeter: Each speaker has a PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) balanced dome tweeter. PEI is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.
