JBL Synchros Reflect BT wireless sports headphones

The Sychros Reflect BT headphones use special ear tips designed to keep them in place during movement (shown in Green).

Wireless music and calls

A wireless Bluetooth connection lets you stream music and audio from your smartphone to the Synchros Reflect BT headphones from as far as 40 feet away. That's helpful if you'd rather set your phone down instead of having it strapped to your arm. The built-in rechargeable battery offers up to five hours of playback and can be refueled via the included micro USB cable. A three-button remote on the reflective cable that connects the earpieces is designed for an iPhone® or iPod®, so you can adjust the volume, skip songs, and play and pause music. There's also a tiny built-in microphone so you can take hands-free calls.

Clever design

A couple of cool design features set these headphones apart from other Bluetooth models. The earpieces are magnetic. When you're taking a water break and want to remove the headphones, just clasp the earpieces together and hang them around your neck so you don't have to set them down and risk losing them. You can also adjust the length of the cord that connects the earpieces using the retractable tether.

Drivers: The headphones are equipped with premium 8.5mm drivers for solid bass response and clear highs.

Bluetooth: The Synchros Reflect BT features Bluetooth 4.0 technology for a wireless connection. You can keep your smartphone or Bluetooth music player in your pocket or gym bag while you workout. The Bluetooth connection has a range of up to 40 feet.

Note: The headphones do not include a wired connection.

Compatibility: The in-line 3-button remote and microphone is compatible with a wide range of smartphones and mobile devices. The outer buttons turn the volume up or down as needed, while the center button turns on the power, pause/play your music, or answer/end your phone calls. The remote/mic works with iPad (mini, 3rd and 4th generation), iPhone (5s, 5c, 5, and 4s), iPod touch, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, Android 1.5 (Cupcake) to Android 4.4 (KitKat), and Blackberry 1.0 to Blackberry 10 OS.

Freebit Ear Tips: The JBL Synchros Reflect BT in-ear sport headphones include three pairs of Freebit ergonomic ear tips, making sure there's a size to fit most everyone. Rechargeable Battery: These in-ear headphones are powered by a rechargeable battery located in the right ear bud. The battery can be charged in approximately 2 hours via the supplied Micro USB cable. A fully charged battery provides about 5 hours of battery life.

Retractable Cord: The headphones are connected together via a 2' sweat-proof retractable flat cable. You can adjust the length of the cable for the best fit, using the attached cord clips.

Magnetic Cable Management: Each ear bud has a magnet along the bottom that enables you to keep them securely clasped together around your neck when they're not in use.

Hi Mark. I'm not sure if they'll work with the S5. I use mine with a Motorola Moto X and a Samsung Rugby and they work fine with both. Hope this helps.

Q
Can you change the very most tip portion of the earbud, perhaps put foam tips on the end? Or is the hook thing and ear tip one piece? I have the Bluebird Xs and they work so much better with foam tips.

The tips are removable, but the round part of the headphone is a larger diameter than most.

The tips come off and they come with 3 different sizes I believe. Not sure how well the foam tips would fit, but the tips do come off.

The tips can be changed but it doesn't come with foam tips.

Yes press the middle of the black bar until you hear the chime .
patrick  Apr 21, 2015
A
Yes. The power button is located on the controls pad up near one of the ear buds. The volume controls are there, as well. To skip to the next track, just double "click" the power button. When the headphones are powered on, they immediately connect to your blue tooth device (at least to my iPhone). You only have to sync to them on the first use/connection.

Q
How do I charge the headphones? I have a cable but do not know where to plug it into.
lana  Jan 23, 2015

A
It's simple: on the right earbud you lift up the cover (the JBL logo) and it will expose the micro USB port, then plug in the cable and the other end into a USB power source and it will start charging. It's easy to overlook the cover because they designed it to look cool, but if you look really carefully you'll see a small tab you can stick your fingernail in to lift it up.

end of the right ear piece flips open
don  Jan 24, 2015

On the ear bud opposite the control bar, if you look closely you'll notice a little cutout on the JBL plate. That JBL plate covers where you connect the charger. Get your fingernail under the cover and lift up. Viola! Hope this helps!
matthew  Jan 24, 2015
A
Hi, Lana, You can either plug the USB end into a computer or plug it into the wall using an adapter. I find that plugging into the wall with the adapter charges it much faster. Now, if you're asking where to plug into the headphones themselves, there is little, round, plastic cover on either the left or right ear piece. The removable cover has a notch in it so you can get under it to release it. Just pull the little cover away from the ear piece, and plug the cable into the ear piece. The removable cover is where the JBL logo is printed, if I'm not mistaken. Hope this helps! - Brian D.

The right ear bud has a charging port. Your finger nail works great to lift the jbl tab.
juan  Jan 24, 2015
A
The end of the lighted earpiece that appears solid is actually removable. Look very closely and you will see a "pry slot" that you can work with a fingernail or small, thin tool.
michael w  Jan 24, 2015
A
On the back of one of the earphones where it reads jbl is a clip you have to pull up with you finger nail. Use the provided charger or any android phone charger
nathan  Jan 24, 2015
A
The back of one of the ear pieces opens to USB mini
christopher  Jan 24, 2015
A
The cable has to make ends. The larger one is for a computer USB port. The other plugs into the earphones port, usually under a plus on the outside of the right earpiece. When you make the connections a red light goes on that is on the right earphone showing it is charging. When the re light turns blue, it is all charged and ready to use.
david c.  Jan 24, 2015
A
safest charge is to plug into computer. charging into another type of usb charger such as apple iphone charger will burn your headphones out making them useless.
roger  Jan 24, 2015
A
In the ear plug there is a folding cover that says JBL with a small lach on the bottom pull it up and you will see the port .
patrick  Jan 24, 2015
A
Hi Lana. To charge, just pull the small cover that says JBL from the right earpiece and you'll find a spot to plug in your cable. Hope this helps. Larry.

Q
Is sound as loud as wired set of ear buds want to mow grass with these. Have a set of plantronics not loud enough?
jeff  Dec 14, 2014

A
Not good for noise cancelation, you need to use the right size fittings which come in three sizes. Also depends on your device as well and the volume setting. Both my Samsung tab 4 and iPhone 4 put out just about the same sound range. You may need the ear muff ear phones, the noise cancelation pricy ones to mow the lawn. More so, after about 30 minutes or so you start feeling some discomfort and need to readjust. Otherwise beats having that long wire hanging around, sounds very clear when talking in phone mode.
jorge  Dec 16, 2014

I think so. I'm a mechanic and they drown out the surrounding noise. I Couldn't be happier with mine.

Yes they sounded great. The only problem I had was in my diesel truck the person on the other end could not hear me when I was on the phone.
danny  Dec 15, 2014

No. Not quite. I disagree with some of the reviews that don't like the sound - it is very good as long as you get a good fit. Still not as loud as wired though.

Yes. Just know that the reliability of these lasting long is poor. I had to send them back to JBL for a replacement after 6 months, they just died. Also the buttons to work them are very small and hard to work if you have large hands/fingers. Sound quality is great but they do have issues.
kevin  Jan 12, 2016
A
Yes you can. Don't really like the ear bud type headphones though as they are always falling out. They also briefly lose connection is phone iline of site is blocked.

A couple of hours, but don't buy these if you plan to use them during activity. I jogged with mine; first pair lasted 8 months, and the replacement pair 6 weeks.

My recommendation would be not to purchase these head phones. They have many gliches for something so simple and don't hold a charge for an extended period of time.
