Have an iPhone 5®, 4th generation iPad®, or 5th generation iPod touch® with a Lightning connector? Dock it on JBL's OnBeat Rumble and enjoy rich, full-bodied sound. The Rumble's pop-up connector accommodates smaller Apple portables such as the iPhone 5, and has a back support for the iPad mini® and iPad. And this versatile speaker system also works with just about any other portable music source you might own.
Bluetooth wireless streaming
While the Rumble's built-in dock designed specifically to accommodate devices with Apple's Lightning connector, any Bluetooth device can pair with this system for wireless music playback. That means older iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches can stream music to the Rumble. as can Android™ smartphones and tablets, as well as Bluetooth-compatible Mac® and PC laptops.

The Rumble houses two full-range speakers plus a 4-1/2" down-firing woofer for solid bass. Two rear-opening bass ports further reinforce low frequencies.
Sophisticated electronics ensure the system reproduces your Bluetooth-streamed audio sources clearly. And 50 watts of built-in amplification ensures you'll get plenty of sound to fill just about any room.

JBL's free MusicFlow app lets you take control of the Rumble right from your Apple or Android smartphone or tablet. Organize playlists from your music libraries, turning the Rumble into your own personal jukebox. And you can tweak the sound to your liking with via the app's EQ settings.

Dual Full-Range Drivers + Down-firing Sub: The JBL OnBeat Rumble employs two 2.5" full-range drivers for high and midrange frequencies, along with a down-firing 4.5" subwoofer and proprietary Slipstream port technology (dual rear-firing ports) for big, low-distortion bass. The JBL OnBeat Rumble utilizes a 50W amplifier rated at 11W x 2ch (full-range drivers) + 28W x 1ch (subwoofer), for high-output sound. The speaker system has a frequency response of 50 Hz to 18,000 Hz (-6dB). Audio settings include a Bass Boost function which enhances the system's bass performance and a Club EQ function which produces more focused sound.
Bluetooth Audio Streaming w/ Harman TrueStream Technology: The JBL OnBeat Rumble supports Bluetooth A2DP for wireless audio streaming from a compatible Bluetooth-enabled mobile device (such as your Apple iOS device or Android smartphone/tablet). You can listen to stored music and music apps on your Bluetooth-enabled device through the OnBeat Rumble speaker system. The JBL OnBeat Rumble employs Harman TrueStream technology to guarantee the best possible listening experience when you stream audio via a Bluetooth wireless connection. You will still use your Bluetooth-enabled device to control music playback and view song/artist information.

You will continue to use your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to control music playback and view song/artist information. The Lightning-connector dock is hidden by a flip-up lid on the top of the powered speaker system.
JBL MusicFlow App: With the free JBL MusicFlow app from the Apple App Store (for iPod/iPhone/iPad running iOS 4.3+), you can browse your music in Cover Flow format, create and edit playlists, and add songs to your favorites list. The MusicFlow app even gives you additional EQ modes so you can tweak the JBL OnBeat Rumble dock to make it sound just right in any room or environment.

Auxiliary Input: The JBL OnBeat Rumble also features a rear-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting an external audio source, such as your iPod shuffle or other portable MP3 player. Audio cable sold separately.
Headphone Output: The JBL OnBeat Rumble is equipped with a rear-panel 3.5mm headphone jack which allows you to privately listening to Bluetooth and Aux input music sources through a set of headphones (sold separately). The headphone jack is not compatible with the unit's Lightning-connector dock.
USB Port: You can use the speaker system's rear-panel USB (type-A) port to charge your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone/tablet while listening to your music. This USB port is for charging only and does support audio playback.
AC Power Supply w/ Auto Standby: The JBL OnBeat Rumble operates off of standard household current using the supplied AC power adapter and cord. The unit will automatically enter "standby" mode when there is not signal or operation in approximately 10 minutes.

I previously owned the bose soundlink and that was clear and loud but then it broke and I wanted something else. I read previous reviews on the jbl rumble and ended up getting one and I am in love. very loud and has good bass and the Bluetooth connects fast. great buy!
