Not feeling the impact from your television's tiny built-in speakers? What if we told you that with AC power and one cable from your television we could up your audio game noticeably — with a little help from JBL, of course. This wall-mountable sound bar will give you the performance you've come to expect from a nameplate as distinguished as theirs, with 60 watts of ready power waiting to fill your room the minute you hook up the SB 100. Two premium 3.5" cone woofers and two 1.5" dome tweeters deliver clear, authoritative sound. Plus, JBL's surprising Display Surround technology will give you a surround-like soundstage that will help you be less of a spectator and more of a participant in whatever you're watching.

The SB 100 comes with all the cables you'll need to hook it up, and a wall-mounting bracket. It's a perfect complement to TVs that are 27 inches and up.

Sound bar speakers: room-filling sound with less clutter

Add big sound to your TV without a roomful of speakers. Sound bars require minimal space and wiring, and their sleek designs complement today's flat-panel TVs. Most sound bars have their own built-in amplification, so you won't need to use a home theater receiver. Some models use advanced surround processing and carefully aimed speaker drivers to simulate the effects of a full home theater audio system.

Purchased to hang below a 42" LG TV. Speaker delivered a much greater depth of sound than ones in the TV. Purchased a scratch and dent model from outlet stock.. Did not find and damage to the unit .Existing TV mounted on wall with a tilt and at and angle from wall. Unit did not come with the wall bracket in box. Needed this as it is made to clip into the sound bar. Called Crutchfield and one was send right out to me at no additional cost. Made a custom mounting plate to connect to back of TV. All is well. Now have a theater type sound in the master bed room with small foot print.

My elderly Mom, who loves opera, bought an inexpensive flat screen TV to replace a broken one that had much better sound. The new TV had limited options for sound output. This sound bar could receive output from the standard small headphone jack, and has improved her listening and viewing experience incredibly. We did have to purchase the cable for this hookup, but small price to pay.

Pros: Good quality sound, not too boomy in the bass. Convenient connection options. Reasonable price.

Cons: Wider than TV or stand. We wall-mounted it. Had to buy our own cable for the type of connection required.

I don't think you could get a better power home theater for the price. I have a hearing impairment and this sound bar has really made movies enjoyable.

Like most others I bought this sound bar to help out the dialog and general sound of my new LED TV. After getting things figured out as far as settings on the TV it is a great price point sound bar. Of course it isn't going replace a decent theatre system but for general listening it is great! I ended up buying two of them. One is in my garage with an MP3 player plugged in. Fills a 900 sq.ft. garage quite nicely!

Pros: Really helps the dialog and general sound of the television. As usual Crutchfield is great to work with and I will be using them in the future!!! Thanks Crutchfield! The TV remote works with it. And no issues with the optical or mini plug at all.

Cons: Getting the sound controls right is not all that clear. Through searching on the net and trial and error I found that turning the TV speaker setting to 'off' and the volume setting to 'fixed' seems to work the best for me.

I have always liked the sound of JBL speakers and this soundbar is no exception. A huge improvement over the flat screen speakers. Installation was easy, the controls are intuitive, and I like that the soundbar turns on and off automatically with the TV and can be synched to the TV remote. I initially had a problem with the optical cable supplied because I didn't realize the ends of the cable had protective covers which needed to be removed before use. If the bar is mounted high on a wall as mine is,. the manual controls won't be visible as they are located on the top of the bar.

Pros: nice size, good sound, easy controls, mounting options

    Cons:

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This sound bar sounds good! I bought a new flat screen tv that amazed me with how bad it sounded. This sound bar made a world of difference! The tv sits on a stand but I was able to slide the sound bar underneath the tv and it sounds just like it's coming from the tv. The remote has a button to add bass to those action movies. This was a great buy for the money.

Pros: Rich sound for the size. Easy to connect.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Certainly a better sound than what comes out of my tinny flat screen TV speakers. If you are looking for real oomph, suggest you check out a model that comes with a separate subwoofer. Easy to hook up, and program your cable/TV remote to operate the sound bar. Now the Caveat: make sure you can turn off -- not just mute -- your TV's internal speakers, otherwise your cable/TV remote will operate both the sound bar AND your TV speakers. You DO NOT want that. My last option is to see if the cable/TV remote can be de-programmed so it does not control the TV volume. For me, the sound bar, although good, will not justify having to use the separate, sound bar-only remote.

Pros: Ease of set up. Sound is markedly better than TV's speakers.

Cons: TV speakers conflict with sound bar (this is a TV problem. See above.)

The sound on my TV is much improved. But it took me a while to get it right. The process of optimizing the sound is not clear in the manual particularly what you can do on the TV to help.

Take the time to actually listen and compare your TV's sound to the JBL Unit. The sound is clear and the EQ is just right; and it even gets better when you turn it up. Add in the surround sound and bass boost and it fills the room very nicely. Just what you'd expect from JBL.

    Pros: Improves TV audio.

    Cons: None

Sounds great and takes no space at all!

Pros: Good sound, specially when paired with a subwoofer. No need for bulky amplifiers and electronics.

Cons: I like the sound of a big speaker home theater with bulky amplifiers.

    Features

Soundbar Speaker System: The JBL Cinema SB100 is a complete, integrated soundbar speaker system that dramatically improves the sound reproduction of your flat-panel TV. Designed to complement 27" and larger flat-panel televisions, the JBL Cinema SB100 is ideal for people who want premium sound quality with impressive bass performance in a nonintrusive, easy-to-install solution. The SB100 Soundbar system features exclusive Harman Display Surround, as well as analog and optical digital audio inputs. It can mount on a wall or sit on a shelf.

Speaker & Amplifier Section: The SB100 Soundbar houses two 1.5" dome tweeters and dual 3" premium cone woofers powered by a 60-Watt amplifier.

Harman Display Surround: Drawing from Harman expertise in movie theater audio, the Cinema SB100 lets you add cinema sound without adding multiple speakers. Employing proprietary Harman Display Surround technology, it creates a virtual surround-sound experience for multiple listeners from a single soundbar.

Bass Boost: JBL is known for exceptional bass response, and the Cinema SB100 lets you increase low-frequency performance at the touch of a button on the included remote. The added bass impact is ideal for movie soundtracks.

Analog + Digital Inputs: The Cinema SB100 features both analog (minijack) & digital (optical) inputs to connect your flat-panel TV and a Blu-ray/DVD player, or satellite/cable box to the system. The soundbar only supports 2-channel PCM through its optical digital input (not Dolby Digital).

Note: If your television does not support 2-channel PCM through its optical digital output, you will need to connect the SB100 using the analog 3.5mm stereo input.

Subwoofer Output: The Cinema SB100 soundbar speaker is fitted with a mono-subwoofer output (with built-in fixed low-pass crossover) to connect a separate powered subwoofer for added bass response.

Remote Control: The Cinema SB100 comes with a credit card-sized IR remote. However, this soundbar speaker can also "learn" the IR (infrared) volume-control code of your existing TV remote control, taking away the need to keep track of yet another remote for controlling the volume on the soundbar.

Mounting Options: You can place the Cinema SB100 on a shelf or tabletop, or wall-mount it with the included bracket. A dual-position equalization feature optimizes the soundbar's performance for any location. So you can position it where you choose without compromising sound quality.

I would say yes. As long as your tv has some sort of audio out it will. For the most part the trick is to get the tv settings right. Enjoy! [ Mike  Mar 31, 2015 ]
Check to make sure the set has compatible output. Also it may look a little strange since it is much wider than the tv. [ ARMAND  Mar 31, 2015 ]
I think a 22 inch is too small for this sound bar. I have it on a 48 inch flat screen. It sounds great when I crank it up. Great buy for the money though. [ Sloane  Mar 31, 2015 ]

It sits just fine on a horizontal surface. There's a setting in the back that adjusts the sound according to whether you have it mounted on a wall or sitting on a table/shelf. [ GAYLE  Jan 14, 2015 ]
This does come with a wall mount bracket. Two screws and done deal. What I did find is that if the bracket is mounted directly on the wall the bass can be a little boomy. I spaced it out about 3/4" and it did make a difference. [ Mike  Jan 14, 2015 ]
    It can sit on a shelf. [ ARMAND  Jan 14, 2015 ]
No, it does not have to. I have it on top of my entertainment cabinet. [ BRIAN  Jan 14, 2015 ]
It's on my wall right now, but could rest atop the entertainment center. I recently bought a Bose Cinemate 15. This JBL product was a HUGE disappointment [ Miguel  Jan 14, 2015 ]
No, it doesn't have to be mounted. My TV sits on a stand. The sound bar sits right under the screen. I was able to turn off the sound on the TV which was a distraction with the sound bar. Sounds good! [ Sloane  Jan 14, 2015 ]
Can sit on a shelf or TV stand top [ CURTIS L  Jan 14, 2015 ]
Mine is sitting right under my flat screen on the TV stand shelf, no mounting, unless you want to put it on a wall. [ KA  Jan 14, 2015 ]
Yes it will work. And no additional purchases will be necessary. [ Matthew  Jun 12, 2014 ]
You can use RCA (the red and white plugs) or digital (fiber-optical) connectors to connect this sound bar to your TV. A digital connector is included with the sound bar, but RCA cables are not. Enjoy your new TV! [ GAYLE  Jun 12, 2014 ]
hi, I have u-verse att and the surround would only work when I connected the red and white to (audio out) on cable box, also optical plug was connected to the cable box, when I connected the cables to the tv the sound bar would not work, it needed to come from source of signal, it does work well for the price. THE CRUTCHFIELD REPS helped me and they maybe able to help you, Neil [ NEIL R.  Jun 12, 2014 ]
The best way to use the JBL SOUND BAR IS WITH a fiber optic cable. Your smart tv should have a location for fiber cable. You will get best sound that way. [ BRIAN  Jun 12, 2014 ]
Hi I bought my jbl speakers for my ex BFs birthday. I do think you need speakers. I remember him going to local big box store to buy the cables. [ KA  Jun 12, 2014 ]

Hi, Jim-- I had trouble getting local television broadcast audio through the sound bar (I don't have cable) and no one could figure it out for awhile. Finally, Steve Kindig, a Crutchfield TV guy, wrote me the following:> OK, I think I know what the problem is -- and you may have mentioned> this, and I just couldn't wrap my brain around it. The JBL sound ba> can only accept PCM audio through its optical input. It doesn't> support Dolby Digital audio which is the format for over-the-ai> broadcast TV.
