These highly sensitive speakers make them a perfect combo with a factory stereo, but if you really want to hear them perform, pair them with an aftermarket amp.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

Q
I live in alaska and was always told to not crank my stereo until my speakers were "warm" are there any better type of speakers for cold weather?
travis  Dec 12, 2017

A
We don't have any speakers that are marketed as being made to perform better in cold weather. Also, it looks like most speaker manufacturers do not list any temperature ranges for their speakers. I think you will want to continue to let your speakers warm up a bit before turning it up. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101

Q
(Dumb Question) Do you need an amplifier for the jbl speakers?
deathruler  Jun 30, 2017

A
If you are replacing a car speaker that used to work but blew, the stereo that powered it would likely be sufficient. An additional amp isn't necessary as these will not be able to handle such power without distorting or blowing. Spl of 91 means they are fairly efficient thus playing louder than lower spl speakers. These will not rock your car - fine for low to moderate only. Higher volumes they will distort.

You don't need one but it would sure help.

Q
I want to replace a blown speaker #86160-AF060 in my 2006 Sequoia Limited. The woofer on the bottom right front (passenger side) has a crackling sound. If I buy the JBL Stage 502, do I need an adapter plate? Can I use the existing electrical connectors? Is there two speakers in the bottom of the door,? Or one? Does the JBL Stage 502 replace it? Sorry, sorta confusing. Selby.
selby  Aug 23, 2016

A
The JBL Stage 502 speaker will fit he doors of your Sequoia if it came factory equipped with the premium JBL sound system. We'll provide the adapter bracket and the factory connector harnesses, free of charge, with your purchase of any recommended 5.25" models for this location. The adapter and harness will be added to your online shopping cart, automatically, when you add the JBL speakers to your shopping cart for this location. I hope that helps.
