Features
Overview: The Jensen DUB Edition amplifiers offer performance and value for your vehicle's sound system. With a MOSFET power supply and high-current Toshiba bi-polar output transistors, the DUB amps provide lots of power and control to give your music impressive punch and clarity. The Class AB design reduces idle current and minimizes distortion.
Power Output: The DUBa1450 mono block amplifier delivers the following power output:
- CEA Specifications: RMS power output @ 1% THD+N, 10-300Hz, 14.4 VDC:
- 260 watts x 1 @ 4 ohms
- 400 watts x 1 @ 2 ohms
- RMS Power Output @ 2% THD+N, 1 kHz, 14.4 VDC:
- 300 watts x 1 @ 4 ohms
- 450 watts x 1 @ 2 ohms
Protection Circuitry: The amplifier features protection circuitry for thermal overload, DC-offset, and short circuits. The LED on the top of the amp glows yellow if a fault is detected.
Pass-thru RCAs: The DUBa1450 has a pair of RCA connectors that allow you to connect additional amplifiers without having to use a Y-adapter. The line output is unfiltered, providing the same signal as the RCA input.
End Caps: The DUB Edition amps include end caps to cover the wiring and controls for a clean installation. The end caps can be painted to match your vehicle, if desired. The end cap brackets can be removed if you wish to install the amp without the end caps.
Controls
Input Level: The DUBa1450's rotary gain control let you match the amp's input sensitivity to the output of the source unit. The input sensitivity range of the amplifier is continuously variable between 400mV and 5V. A small screwdriver (not included) is required to set the gain.
Remote Input Level Control: The amp includes a Remote Input Level Control module with a 5-meter (16.5') 6-pin modular cable. You can adjust the input level of the amplifier from the driver's seat or an alternate location. This allows you to tune the amount of bass you want for different types of music. The module can be mounted under or in the dash.
Low-pass Filter: The amp features a 12 dB/octave low-pass filter that is adjustable from 40 to 300 Hz.
Sub Sonic Filter: The Sub Sonic filter removes ultra-low frequencies that cannot be reproduced by most subwoofers. These frequencies do not become sound, but unnecessary oscillations which affect sound by causing distortion. These frequencies also waste amplifier power and can cause damage to speakers. The filter's crossover point is variable from 10 to 40 Hz with a slope of 12 dB/octave.
Bass Boost: The DUBa1450 has a 0 to 12dB bass boost, centered at 45Hz.
Connections
Set-screw Terminals: The Jensen DUBa1450 uses set-screw terminals for the +12V power, ground, turn-on (remote) lead, and speaker outputs. The set-screws can be tightened/loosened with a Phillips-head screwdriver (not provided).
Power/Ground: The +12V Power and Ground terminals will accept up to 4 AWG wire. You should use at least an 8-gauge power wire to the battery, with an in-line 60A fuse installed no more than 18" from the battery terminal. An 8 AWG ground wire (minimum) should be used, and attached to a metal area close to the amplifier.
Remote Turn-On: The Remote set-screw terminal will accept up to 8 AWG wire. Typically, an 18 AWG turn-on lead is included in an amplifier wiring kit.
Low-Level Input: The amplifier is equipped with a pair of RCA inputs for connecting a stereo RCA patch cable from the head unit to the amp. A stereo RCA line output is also provided for daisy-chaining another amplifier without requiring a Y-adapter.
Speaker Outputs: The amp features two positive and two negative set-screw terminals for connecting one or two speakers. For maximum power, it is recommended that you configure the speakers for a nominal 2-ohm load. The terminals will accept up to 8 AWG wire, however, it is recommended that you use a minimum of 12 AWG wire.
