Features

Overview: The Jensen DUB Edition amplifiers offer performance and value for your vehicle's sound system. With a MOSFET power supply and high-current Toshiba bi-polar output transistors, the DUB amps provide lots of power and control to give your music impressive punch and clarity. The Class AB design reduces idle current and minimizes distortion.

Power Output: The DUBa4100 4-channel amplifier delivers the following power output:

  • CEA Specifications: RMS power output @ 1% THD+N, 20-20kHz, 14.4 VDC:
    • 70 watts x 4 @ 4 ohms
    • 90 watts x 4 @ 2 ohms
    • 170 watts x 2 bridged stereo @ 4 ohms
  • RMS Power Output @ 2% THD+N, 1 kHz, 14.4 VDC:
    • 75 watts x 4 @ 4 ohms
    • 100 watts x 4 @ 2 ohms
    • 200 watts x 2 bridged stereo @ 4 ohms

Protection Circuitry: The amplifier features protection circuitry for thermal overload, DC-offset, and short circuits. The LED on the top of the amp glows yellow if a fault is detected.

Pass-thru RCAs: The DUBa4100 has a pair of RCA connectors that allow you to connect additional amplifiers without having to use a Y-adapter. The line output is unfiltered, providing the same signal as the RCA input.

End Caps: The DUB Edition amps include end caps to cover the wiring and controls for a clean installation. The end caps can be painted to match your vehicle, if desired. The end cap brackets can be removed if you wish to install the amp without the end caps.

Controls

Input Level: The DUBa4100's rotary gain control let you match the amp's input sensitivity to the output of the source unit. There are independent input level controls for the front (Channels 1&2) and rear (Channels 3&4). The input sensitivity range of the amplifier is continuously variable between 400mV and 5V. A small screwdriver (not included) is required to set the gain.

Crossover: The amp features 12 dB/octave crossovers that are adjustable from 40 to 300 Hz. There are independent crossovers for the front (Channels 1&2) and rear (Channels 3&4). A 3-way switch lets you configure the crossovers for high-pass or low-pass operation, or switched to full-range to defeat the crossover.

Bass EQ: The DUBa4100 has a 0 to 12dB bass EQ, centered at 45Hz. There are separate Bass EQ controls for the front (Channels 1&2) and rear (Channels 3&4). These are useful for varying the amount of bass if you're running the amp in bridged stereo for driving subwoofers. Ported and Bandpass enclosures should be limited to approximately +6dB to +9dB of boost, while sealed enclosures should be able to accept the full +12dB of boost.

Mode Switch: The Mode switch is a 3-way slide switch that lets you configure the amp for three different input modes: 2 channel (feeds signal to all 4 channels from 2 inputs), 3 channel (feeds signal to all 4 channels with a stereo input for the front and a mono input for the rear), or 4 channel (feeds signal to the 4 channels with individual inputs for each).

Connections

Terminals: The Jensen DUBa4100 uses screw terminals for the +12V power, ground, turn-on (remote) lead, and speaker outputs. The screws can be tightened/loosened with a Phillips-head or flat-head screwdriver (not provided).

Power/Ground: The +12V Power and Ground terminals will accept spade connectors up to 7/16" (0.4375") wide. It is recommended that you use an 8 AWG power wire to the battery, with an in-line 40A fuse installed no more than 18" from the battery terminal. An 8 AWG ground wire (minimum) should be used, and attached to a metal area close to the amplifier.

Remote Turn-On: The Remote screw terminal will accept a spade connector up to 5/16" (0.3125"). Typically, an 18 AWG turn-on lead is included in an amplifier wiring kit.

Low-Level Input: The amplifier is equipped with two pairs of RCA inputs for connecting stereo RCA patch cables from the head unit to the amp. A stereo RCA line output is also provided for daisy-chaining another amplifier without requiring a Y-adapter.

Speaker Outputs: The amp features four positive and four negative screw terminals for connecting four speakers in stereo. To bridge the amp to 2 channels, you should connect the Channel 1 & 3 left + and the Channel 2 & 4 right - terminals to the speakers. You can also connect the amp in 3-channel mode by wiring the Front channels in stereo to two full-range speakers, and bridging the Rear channels to a subwoofer. The terminals will accept a spade connector up to 5/16" (0.3125") wide. It is recommended that you use a minimum of 12 AWG wire.

Q
can this be used to power 4 door speakers and a subwoofer or just 2 door speakers and subwoofer?
timothy  Aug 07, 2015
5 answers
A
Can only be used for the 4 door speakers or 2 door speakers and a sub, but it cant do all 4 and a sub
steven  Aug 10, 2015
A
Hey Tim, this one has 2, 3 or 4 channel mode(s). The wiring diagram displays (3) hook-ups. They are: (1) - Four speakers. (2) - Two speakers and a bridged sub. (3) - Two subs. Hope this helps. The Four speaker and Sub into 1 amp scenario would require a 5 channel amp, I believe.
michael  Aug 09, 2015
A
No, it will only power 4 door speakers or 2 speakers and a sub. You will need a 5 channel amp to power 4 speakers and a sub.
jeff a.  Aug 08, 2015
A
Dpends on how you wire your speakers, if the amp can drive two of your speakers per channel you have two left over for the sub which in most cases is ideal. However if you speakers need more power a 5 channel amplifier is probably a better choice
russell  Aug 08, 2015
A
2 Door and sub, but suggest best application use this for 4 speakers and get seperate or built in power for sub as I used.
murray  Aug 08, 2015
