Jensen DUBS265

Overview

Our take on the Jensen DUBS265

DUBS265

Jensen incorporates the distinctive DUB look into the tweeter design, giving you a solid speaker that's stylish too.

Big sound

Jensen has partnered with DUB magazine to create special-edition speakers that deliver robust sound with an affordable price tag. Install these DUBS265 6-1/2" speakers, and you'll notice a significant improvement in the sound of your car's system. The DUBS265's rigid, injected-molded polypropylene woofer cone helps make this speaker so responsive, delivering midrange musical details the way they were meant to be heard. Jensen rounds out this 2-way speaker with a silk dome tweeter that keeps every high note smooth and clean.

The included DUB-designed grilles make a nice accessory for drivers looking to add a little flair to an average ride with a custom installation.

These speakers sound great for the price I paid for them. I had to drill a custom hole in bracket for 1 of the 3 holes but fit into door very good.

Good speaker with the descent sound. Needed to replace a front speaker that was out and of course I did both. Sound good after two weeks and were very easy to install. Slightly better than oem.

Pros: Good sound very comparable but slightly better than oem.

Cons: No complaints after two weeks.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installing them even with the kit supposedly for the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado P/U rear doors is not easy. The only parts of the kit that were usable were the mounting sheet metal screws and the wiring pigtails. The speaker should mount into the original mount that's in the door however the screw slots or any hole in the speaker don't match up (had to file the slots longer to even get close!) so the half hour job turned into an hour +. Came close to sending them back and would have but returns are a hassle too. They're in and work great. Getting there was another story.

Pros: Great sound

Cons: Installing them!!

I was looking for an inexpensive yet good sounding speaker to replace the blown speakers in my jeep. Excellent sound, good lows, mids and highs from a $40 speaker.

Pros: Inexpensive Easy to install

Cons: Hex hardware can be a challenge

Inexpensive replacement speakers

1999 Volkswagen Passat
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far, pleased. My son blew out all 4 of the (very aged) door mounted speakers at once (never have seen this before!). For the price, can't beat them. I think they are a bit worse then the OEM speakers in terms of bass response. Using VW OEM tweeters is noticeably better than without them (see my review of the wiring harness/adapter problem)-I rewired factory tweeters to continue to function and am happier.

Pros: Good cost to sound ratio

Cons: bit weak on bass response; high end compared to factory tweeters.

These speakers are basically going to be your bottom of the barrel replacement speakers. Sure, they work, but they are not going to impress anyone, including yourself. Install was easy, directions and brackets simple to use. Enjoy.

Pros: Simple, Easy install.

Cons: No real bass or depth.

Does not really fit

Written by: Mike from Angleton, TX on March 28, 2016

2002 Acura RSX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Does Not fit the back of the RSX and only fits the front with door panel bumped out riding on the tweeter. Was going to use these in the back (since it can go alittle lower) and Kenwood in front. But ended up the other way around cause these did not fit the back at all. Unless you modify your cars panel back there.

Pros: Price is right. Looks nice with big magnet but...

Cons: Not made to fit the 2002 Acura RSX and doesn't sound much better then the factory speakers Acura has. Suggest Kenwood for same price range better fit.

Picked these up on special, which means great value for the money. Sound is good, but would benefit from some extra power. Low end is a little lacking, but good for a 6.5 - wish I had gone bigger.

Pros: Good quality Good mid-range and highs.

Cons: None

DUBS265 In 92 Accord

1992 Honda Accord LX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Solid speakers; great sound; easy to install on 92 Accord (minor modification to door speaker bracket), Crutchfield installation instructions were excellent; stock radio sounds great with these new speakers...would recommend to anyone.

Pros: Attractive design, solid materials used to build speaker, great speaker sound from a stock radio and no amp, hardware and grill are included

Cons: Mounting speakers with screws needs to be done carefully...if you over tighten, you can possibly damage speaker; be gentle and do not use power tools.

DUBS in a Motorhome

Written by: Andrew from simi valley, CA on March 16, 2016

2005 Ford Econoline
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Spec-wise and construction-wise these are descent speakers for everyday use. I needed to replace the cabin speakers in a class "A" motorhome from the factory installed no-name brand to a more efficient speaker to get the most out of the factory installed Jensen VR187 head unit. These DUBS did the trick for the mids and highs with a minor low improvement. The speakers are ceiling mounted over the driver & passenger so lows would never be strong. In a door or a deck mount they would probably be better. For the money you can't go wrong.

Pros: Well constructed and descent sound improvement over generic two way 6.25 speakers

Cons:

Great & cheap

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These went into a customers 2007 Silverado that had 2 front door speakers that failed. We're an private automotive shop. These are nicer than the AC delco replacements and they sounded better to me. The hex hardware is a little bit of a nuisance but they went in nice otherwise.

Pros: Fit good, price

Cons: Hex hardware not fast to tighten and work with. using a hex bit in a drill helped speed things up but careful not to poke a hole in the rubber surround.

I didn't expect much for the price, but I was surprised with how clear they were. They're a nice little jump up from stock. I just wish the brackets for my 2007 Silverado held the speakers on a little more snugly.

Pros: Overall good speaker, and sound better than stock.

Cons: I wish the brackets held the speaker on tighter.

Wish the base was bigger. Install was OK however mounting the speakers to the provided brackets was not as secure as i would like. No way to mount any better way with provided hardware. All in, not a bad speaker for the price but would consider another brand and spend a little more for something nicer.

Cons: Small bass with factory head unit.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the 4 standard factory door speakers which sounded really thin with very little mid-range and no bass. I decided to try Jensen DUBS265 based on my experience with Jensen's in the 1970's and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the speakers. The sound improvement has been exactly what I was hoping for. I'm a bit surprised that the Jensen DUBS265S speakers are getting even better each day as they break in. I'm looking forward to the see how good they get each day.

Pros: Great clearity, mid-range and a fair amount of bass comes through. Excellant quality and great price.

Dome Tweeter: Each speaker has a 1" silk dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet. Silk is lightweight and great for high frequency extension and efficiency. It is also designed for durability in the extreme automotive environment.

Mounting: The speaker baskets have multiple mounting holes and are designed to fit standard 3-hole 6-1/2" applications, Ford's 4-hole 6-1/2" applications, and a standard 4-hole 6-3/4" application.
