Lost and Forgotten

This unit has never worked consistantly from the beginning. "On route" driving down a freeway calls for left turns that don't exist and would take me into a center divider K-rail. An easy navigation to my home completely ignores an off ramp that has been in existense for 20 years. A quick query to Jensen indicates that no updates are available and that I could report missing data to the Tele Altas support site. I might as well write the software myself there are so many errors. Plus, Tele Atlas is a company in Europe. When you go to their web-site they don't have links to any United States maps. Apparently I can install different navigation software for another $90.00. This is really a disappointment from a company I used to respect.

good navi wish when using my jensen radio with bluetooth it would not interupt my call and also after call return to navi screen.the worst part is i cant update i called crutchfield they had no info so i looked online and found the company and there isnt a way to update that i can find so i am using my tomtom instead because it can be updated

I got this with my Jensen VM9022 . It works very well. I have a garmin Nuvi in another vehicle and this is just as good as that unit. This turns down the music for directions and then brings it back to previous level.
I haven't giiven it a real workout, but happy with it so far.

I need help! I am lost.

Not because of the naigation unit. My navigation works fine. The maps are
a little behind. People have to understand that this unit came out two years
ago. Yes, check for youself. I had one of the originals back in 2007. Jensen
only released a few hundred for trail and error. Crutchfield didn't recieve
one because I called and asked for it. They had no knowledge such a thing
existed. The NAV 100 was the first stab and it was too bulky and for use
with the 9511. I had that 3 years ago. What I was told is that Audiovox
developed it over a year and tried it for another year under limited supply.
Then put it in to production. So the result is three year old technology in a
year old unit. Get It!
Now JENSEN should make up for it by releasing a free upgrade. Don't hold
your breath though. The bad news is the map company is in Europe. That
doesn't make sense. The GOOD news is that it was bought by TOMTOM
over the 2008 summer. OH JOY!
To sum it up, it's not bad for the price comparred to others and would be a
blockbuster deal if TOMTOM manages to get with Audiovox and compile an
affordable upgrade. It will happen, Jensen and Audiovox, as low quality as
they are, still manage to out sell higher grade units. They wouldn't want to
loss their fanbase in this recession.
P.S. Eclipse and Alpine want hundreds of dollars for their upgrades. Be
happy that you didn't spend 1400 on the Alpine-852 and now have to
upgrade.
