ALL AV Features We Wanted

I installed this in my wife's Chrysler Crossfire Roadster. The anthracite gray unit is a perfect match to the dash and panels. The install was easy with the free installation gear, especially the wiring harness and schematic. I am glad to say the Jensen VM8013HD tuner picks up all channels that the German made Infinity System did, plus the few HD channels we have in our area. My wife plays a 30 gig Music/Video player in the A/V input for music and videos. The screen is sharp and clear. I found the speed of both input changes, station changes and song searchs to be good EXCEPT on mp3 DVDs with over 1,000 songs. Even then, if you follow the format recommendations in the manual, the speed in not unacceptable. The remote is like any do-all remote... you just have to learn it! Lastly, the sound quality is very good, the volune is loud. It has to be when the Crossfire top is down. I have no complaints about the features, EXCEPT A LIGHTED REMOTE KEYPAD WOULD BE NICE. It exactly fits both our needs and our budget ... AND my wife loves it so I give it FIVE STARS.

Nice and Simple

This is a great upgrade from an OEM radio. I installed this into a Jeep Wrangler and it does more than enough. DVD, CD-R/RW, iPod (doesn't charge iPhone, but does play), USB, SD card, HD radio with more presets than necessary and direct link auxiliary input. It is really a great deal. I don't need bluetooth since the Jeep is so loud anyway, but bluetooth is the only thing this is missing. It is satellite ready which means if you already have an optional satellite receiver, you can connect that as well or buy one. It's a jack-of-all-trades as I've read in other reviews, and that is great in these days of multi-functional needs. You could essentially hook your laptop up to the input and have a bigger screen with the sound played through your car's speakers. So many options, it's really hard to say that you could go wrong.

Very decent radio and dvd player screen is clear and crisp. sound is good for the money and install was pretty easy. even better unit.

better bang for your buck

I gave this a 4 out of 5 because its a jack of all trades; meaning its does a lot but isn't the better at one thing then the other.. if that makes sense.
This is installed in my 1998 Jeep Cherokee.
I wanted to wait before i gave my reviews of the product and thought 2 weeks was long enough. I like this radio, the features are great for a smaller space. It is slow when putting a cd in or your iphone / ipod, it takes about 20-30 seconds to start playing. but thats fine for me.
There are a few things that im not happy about but can over look because of the price and what this radio can do.
1) you can not use the volume button to move around easy when your iphone / ipod is connected.
2) there are no equalizer settings besides bass and treble
3) can not change the background.. it would be nice if you could use the SD Slot to put pictures in it or change it to something besides bright blue
Like i said i can over look these things because you are getting a great deal for the price, and its not a bad radio just has a few draw backs. But all my radios have been Jensen brands because they are Cheep and nice.
Oh and the people that work at Crutchfield are very nice and they ship everything very fast ordered this on a sunday night after 7:30pm and it was at my door around noon 2 days later!!!

Loving my Jensen stereo!

First of all, it is an economic dvd receiver.
Until now I have no big complains about it.
I used to have a JVC AVX-44 (El Kamaleon) which is a dvd receiver too for more than
twice the price and the Jensen VM8013HD handles way better.
It is a bit slow reading discs and switching between sources, but besides that I can't
seem to find any other complains.
It is a very very nice dvd receiver, worth the price tag and more.
I recommend it to anyone.
Very satisfied with this product.
