Average Customer Review:
Great bang for the buck

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Got the Jensen a few days ago and very satisfied with the unit! It had all the features that
I wanted and at a great price.....DVD capabilities, USB and A/V front input. When I
shopped around I found that it was hard to match the price of this unit unless you
perhaps go with a brand I had never heard of until then. I wasn't particularly fond of
Jensen but I may have been converted. Only time will tell. I have not used to any large
degree the USB input to see if any difficulites arise out of that feature. Picture quatlity of
the 7" screen when playing a DVD is better than anticipated.
With results thus far I would definitely recommend this unit. The only complaint I have so
far is the on-screen menus are easy to understand and navigate, but they just don't look
aesthetically pleasing. Meaning, I would like to see the menus mor 'tech' looking as it
looks like '90's technology if that makes sense. But it was no surprise once installed as
it pictures it in the sample photos.
Unit worked fine for 6 months...not so much anymore
I bought this unit in July 09. It seemed like a good deal and it had all the features I was looking for and then some. Installation was easy although I did have a faulty Data Bus Interface adapter which Crutchfield replaced without a problem. As stated, the radio worked fine for about 6 months but now it has started to give me all kinds of problems. The most annoying one is that speakers on the right side keep cutting out whenever I listed to the radio. This usually lasts anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes. I initially thought that perhaps I had a problem with the speakers but this only occurs when listening to the radio. The sound is fine when playing DVDs, CDs or listening to MP3s from a USB memory stick. I have a feeling that the issue may be with the HD receiver but I have no way of verifying that without purchasing another unit.
Another problem I have noticed is that the system crashes/locks up randomly when using a USB memory stick. I typically use several different memory sticks and this has happened with each of them at least once.
Now that I have had the unit for some time there are some things I do not like about it. I do not like how loud the fan is or the fact that most configuration needs to be done with the LCD panel opened or using the remote (which I do not keep in my truck).
If I had another chance to chose a new radio for my truck I probably would go with something other than this unit.
