well I just got it yesterday night.... After going through the box to make sure everything was in there behold what was found the infamous "Jensen jLinkUSB" cable that crutchfield product spec' say's is not in there SMH!! haha so if anyone else buy this unite know that you do not have to buy the Jensen jLinkUSB cable like I did save yourself the $34 bucks or use it towards the steering wheel control adaptor which I'm sure you will need as I do..... after I install this unite this weekend I will return and give an actual review I just thought I would shear this info to anyone wanting to buy this unite and wants the iPhone/iPod interface this unite has!!
Pros: It actually comes with everything but the Navi... I am happy I bought from Crutichfield... Fast and Friendly...
Cons: The unite spec' needed a review it's self haha because it says the jLink able is needed but it actual is incouleded..... Just to make sure I wasn't seeing things wrong I rechecked and it states that the jLinkUSB is optional if you want iPhone/iPod control but you will receive it in the box.... So if you guys at Curtchfield please review the product and change that opational to included thanks...Crutchfield response on June 14, 2012 Based on this feedback we checked the inventory and confirmed the cable is now included. We have updated our product informaiton.
Loved this unit!

Ease of Use
Great unit. Easy to install. I wish it had an on screen brightness control and I was able to control the color. Great clean sound through my factory speakers.
Pros: Easy install. Lots of options.
Cons: No on screen brightness controls.
Ok for the money

Ease of Use
It is not a bad unit and the price was right but the interface between it and my iPhone is slow. The biggest problem is switching between functions it's controlling on the phone as it will cause it to lock up at times if you try and do it to fast. It was easy to hook up and the DVD player works well so I guess I will just deal with the rest and try to remember to be patient.
Pros: Good value for the options
Cons: Interface controls are slow.

Ease of Use
Sounds way better than my stock GM radio, even though the GM has Bose speakers and a subwoofer. I was surprised how good it sounded. Bluetooth works very well with my iPhone 4S. The interface does truly suck. It would have cost nothing to to allow different background colors besides gray and brown. Smallish font. Way too much glare at night. There is a way to to dim it, but you have do it each time you turn it on. Pinpoint photocells that auto dim the display have been around for decades, even old analog radios from the 80s had them. I'm installing window tint film over the display. Also, with 2 USBs, a SD slot there should be a way to let it display photos of your choice while its playing, or album art bigger than postage-stamp size. Just poorly thought out display
Pros: Great value, good features, good sound.
Cons: Clueless display design
Update: Great Product! Great Service

I mentioned in my review that you can't adjust the brightness. I just found out if you hold the [src] button down, it will show a Brightness and Contrast. You can use the volume nob to adjust the brightness or contrast to your liking...
Still a great product! I did freak out a bit when it just went dark once... I blew the CIG/RADIO fuse. Hope that it is just an anomaly... maybe I just had too many gadgets plugged in!
Great Product! Great Service

Ease of Use
I normally don't write reviews, but my experience warrants one so that others will be informed.
I bought the VM9224BT for the iPod connectivity, DVD capability and the input options (SD, USB Stick, etc). Installation went well... the instructions split up between Crutchfield master sheet and then the harness for my Toyota Carolla S. Not a big deal, but I think there could be some additional tweaking on the instructions.
When I installed the VM9224BT, the Bluetooth was not working. People could barely hear me speaking. I did a bunch of tests and did not know if it was just "standard issue". Crutchfield... is amazing... they thanked me for the additional tests and sent me out a new unit, no questions asked.
I installed the new unit and everything works perfectly. I can watch DVDs, stream Pandora and other music services via Bluetooth. I even have streamed Netflix (using my iPod with jensen video cable) using my broadband hotspot. Features are great! I love it.
If I were to change anything, I would improve the navigation on the SD/USB content (sorting). I would also allow the ability to adjust the brightness of the screen. I would also provide instructions on the Mic installation options. It would be idea to be able to have ran the mic wire up through to the visor area.
Anyway... great product! And great service from Crutchfield dealing with my issue/replacement.
Awesome...well worth it...great sound...user friendly...
I read some of the not-so-fair reviews, but bought it anyways, and I am glad that I did. This stereo ROCKS!! It's super easy to use...sounds unreal...and the DVD sound and video quality are superb! It looks much better in the dash than the comparable Pioneer unit...had more features (blue tooth audio and streaming), and was SO much easier to use. I cannot say enough good things about this model. Def was worth the price I paid for it...crisp highs n lows...could not ask for more, honestly, especially for the price :)
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I have purchased this radio about a week ago, and so far it has done its job! It may not have the 6 disc cd player like my stock one, however, it does have the AUX output, plays movies, has built in bluetooth, has a spot to plug in USB cables, and can eventually have navigation built in!
Very good radio.
The unit has performed well, the installation was a breeze thanks to the materials shipped with the unit. I enjoy using the SD card slot to play my music and movies. The only quirk.. I have not figured out how to play WMAs....the unit picks up the music yet say they are not playable. I may switch over to MP3s. I have had the unit for a week, the clock does drift, yet I am satisfied with the unit.
Looks like a bargain, but you get what you pay for!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I've owned Jensen products before, so I bought this unit with realistic expectations: a basic head unit that performed its advertised functions without the polish of higher-end units. I was willing to trade features for price. But I wasn't willing to compromise reliability, so after a second failed unit, I've given up on Jensen.
The issues included:
* iPod control is totally unreliable. Both head units would either fail to detect supported iPods, detect but not play music, or start playing and then freeze up.
* DVD playback randomly stopped working.
* The clock on the first unit would lose and then re-gain 40 minutes.
* Brightness and contrast of the display did not match the stored control value after a restart.
* Tuner seek function would frequently blow past local stations and lock onto static.
* Finally, the audio output on the second unit died completely the day after install.
In all fairness, I did like a few things: The unit looked good in my car and the simple GUI was easy to use while driving. Bluetooth and backup camera display worked fine.
In summary: If I didn't need iPod control, the other quirks might have been forgivable in exchange for the low price. But the hardware failures were the final straw. I will not be trying another Jensen unit, and would advise you to avoid this product.
