General Features
Motorized 7" TFT LCD Monitor:
The VM9410 features a
motorized 7" TFT Active Matrix, 16:9 wide screen display with an adjustable
viewing angle. The resolution of the display is 1440 x 234 for a total of
336,960 pixels. Menus appear on screen for making function choices, audio
adjustments, and setting up the system.
Display
Angle Adjustment: You can adjust the display's angle for better
visibility. The display tilts forward and backward,
allowing you to choose one of 18 tilt positions.
Auto
Open/Close: When this feature is active, the
display automatically opens when the ignition switch is turned on and closes
when the ignition switch is turned off.
Display
Adjustment: You can adjust the display's brightness, color,
tint, contrast, and picture.
Aspect Ratio:
You can choose from the following aspect ratio modes:
- Full: expands picture
horizontally to fill the entire width of the screen, distorting the picture
slightly but retaining full image height
- Wide:
expands picture horizontally only at the edges
- Normal: displays 16:9
widescreen format pictures that fill the entire screen width, and 4:3
(conventional TV) pictures display with black bars on either side
Electronic Skip Protection:
This unit is equipped with 2-second DVD, 60-second MP3/WMA, and 4-second CD
anti-skip memory for skip-resistant playback.
EQ5:
EQ presets are stored into memory,
allowing you to recall the best setting
for different types of music. You may choose from the
following presets: Jazz, Pop, Classical, Flat, or User. For the User preset, you
can independently adjust the bass and treble settings.
ix-Bass:
You can select one of four different levels of bass compensation.
Audio Sound Processing (ASP):
The ASP allows you to independently select the bass and treble center
frequencies. The bass center frequency can be set to 60, 80, 100, 130, 150, or
200 Hz. The treble center frequency can be set to 10, 12.5, 15, or 17 kHz. When
the bass center frequency is selected, you can choose one of the following bass
Q-factors: 1, 1.25, 1.5, or 2.
MP3/WMA
Playback:
The VM9410 can play MP3/WMA files that have been recorded on CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW
discs. The disc must be recorded in one of the following formats: ISO 9660 or Joliet.
Dual Zone Capable: The
Headphone/Multi Zone Output allows you to route all A/V entertainment to an optional back seat
monitor and headphone system, allowing front seat passengers to enjoy
independent radio programming. Separate remote are provided for the front and
rear zones.
Rear View Camera: The head unit
features a function that automatically switches to the rear camera image (Camera
jack) when a rear camera is installed on your vehicle. When the shift lever is
in the reverse position, the screen automatically switches to the rear view
camera.
Subwoofer Output: This unit has
a mono 2V subwoofer preamp output on a 5" pigtail. The output can be adjusted to
normal or reverse phase, and the low-pass crossover can be set to 80, 120, or
160 Hz.
DVD/Video CD Features
Direct Access: Using the
supplied remote, you can directly access any title or chapter on a DVD, and any
track on a Video CD or audio CD.
Multi-Angle Display: This
function allows you to choose the viewing angle of scenes that were shot from a
number of different angles.
Note: This function is
limited to DVDs recorded with multiple camera angles.
Monitor Type: You can choose
one of the following monitor types:
- 16:9: displays a 16:9
picture
- 4:3 Letter Box: while viewing a
widescreen picture, the black bars appear on the top and bottom of the
screen
- 4:3 Pan Scan: while viewing a widescreen
picture, the black bars do not appear; however, the left and right edges of
the picture will not be shown on the screen
Surround Modes: You can choose
from the following surround modes:
- Surround I: use to decode
surround effects from analog or digital 2-channel down-mixed sources
- Surround II: use to decode
surround effects from digital bit-stream movies
- Surround Matrix: applies
matrixed effects to mono sources
- Surround Movie: applies
enhanced movie surround effects
- Surround Music: applies
surround music effects
Scan
Search: When
playing a DVD, there are four fast-play speeds in both directions
(2x, 4x, 8x, and 20x).
Slow Motion: When playing a DVD, there are four slow motion speeds in both directions (1/2,
1/4, 1/6, and 1/7).
Repeat Play: When playing a
DVD, you can repeat the current chapter or title. When playing a Video CD, you
can repeat the current track. A-B Repeat allows you to repeat any portion of a
DVD.
Random
Play: When playing a Video CD or audio CD, you can play the tracks in random order.
Intro Play: In this mode, you
can play the first 10 seconds of each chapter on a DVD.
Zoom:
When playing DVDs, you can enlarge the picture using the zoom feature. You can choose one of
three zoom settings.
Dynamic Range Compression: This
function reduces a Dolby Digital soundtrack's dynamic range so you can hear
quieter dialog without being overwhelmed by loud sections. You can choose a
setting of On or Off.
Preamp Outputs: If you want
6-channel theater-style sound, you can hook up the appropriate external
amplifiers and speakers to the front, rear, center, and subwoofer preamp
outputs. When the unit is in 6-channel mode, you can independently adjust the
level of each speaker.

This unit has the following audio preamp outputs: front left and
right, rear left and right, center, and subwoofer.
Headphone/Multi Zone Output:
The Headphone/Multi Zone
output consists of left and right RCA audio jacks and an RCA composite video
jack, allowing you to connect an
optional back seat monitor and headphone
system.
Aux Input:
The Aux input consists of left and right RCA audio jacks and an RCA
composite video jack, allowing you to connect external equipment to this head
unit.
Video Out: This
RCA composite video jack allows you add another external monitor.
Camera Input: This
RCA composite video jack allows you connect an optional rear view camera.
