Jensen's VX3010 DVD receiver adds capabilities to your car's entertainment system that you just won't find in your stock factory radio. Bluetooth connectivity allows you to take and make calls using your compatible phone through the stereo, all while keeping your hands on the wheel when talking. An outboard microphone lets your callers hear you clearly, even in noisy vehicles. Built-in A2DP technology allows you to stream music from your smartphone through this Jensen without the hassle of plugging in.
You'll get more enjoyment from your road trip song selections with Jensen's 3-band equalizer to set the sound the way you want it. And the VX3010 will play nearly any kind of disc, while the front USB input lets you pull songs from your thumb drive, Android phone, iPod®, or iPhone®.
The VX3010's screen motors out to give you the big picture when you're driving.
The VX3010 fits in many cars that won't accommodate a double-DIN receiver, and it still provides a big 7" screen as a control center for your entertainment. The VX3010 includes front and rear audio/video inputs so you can add on a portable audio player, camcorder, or other video sources. And for the safety-minded, a dedicated input on the rear panel accepts an optional rear-view camera.
In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.
Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.
iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.
Average Customer Review(s):
with the dash kit it doen't come all the way out, I have had trouble with this thing sence I have had it should have sent it back.
This receiver cannot be flush mounted which is deceiving from the Jensen website photos that make it appear flush mounted. I wasted a lot of time trying to make it flush mounted like the Jensen photos until i called Crutchfield for help. It has to stick out about 3/4" so the screen can rotate up. In fairness any screen will need to jut out a bit since you may have heater controls above the receiver as my vehicle does but in most cases the screen is stored for radio or audio operation so the unit just looks funcky sticking out with the screen stored. I am a little disappointed in that from a coolness factor but I do like all the features that include a camera and mic input for my phone operation. If you have an iPhone you get lots of extra features but my Blackberry can only do the basics with this receiver. Again Crutchfield saved the day with my vehicle's specific wiring so I could easily set up the rear view camera. The Jensen wiring chart had blurred circuits for the camera tie to the reverse gear circuit and to the parking break circuit for the DVD to be allowed to play. Frankly, I had hoped for greater flexibility with my smartphone and links to features like GPS and maybe video viewing. After a few operations the touch screen is a little loose. It does have a feature that lets you adjust the viewing angle top to bottom but no side to side. The side to side would have been useful since my dash is slanted toward the driver.
Pros: Nice touch screen, easy rear view camera setup, easy Blue Tooth linkup for basic phone use,
Cons: Unit protrudes from the mounting face about 3/4" so make sure nothing needs access. In my vehicle tall cups in the cup holder will interfere with screen operation from stored to upright. Also the beveled cosmetic cover ring from Jensen that fits around the unit must be used since it has slots cut ins for the screen braces. The nicer flush ring fill with the Crutchfield mounting kit cannot be used. The end result is a less than professional finished look but with this unit you have no choice
Great unit for the cost. Installed in my Daughters 2009 Ford Explorer- wanted a new in- dash with ability to Bluetooth and USB connect to Iphone.
Pros: Easy install- kit worked great. Nice sound , nice screen/ graphics .
I love my radio so much. I has everything I need
Pros: The Bluetooth is perfect. I never have to life a finger
Cons: I wish I could change the colors
For the price this stereo is great! Looks awesome in my 2006 Jeep Liberty. Yes the stereo sticks out a little bit but it has to for the screen! The screen opens when you turn on the car and closes when you shut off the car. It also 'remembers' if you already had the screen closed when you turn off the car and when you start the car again it will remain closed. Bluetooth works great, iphone playback works great and so does playing music off of a flash drive. One of the reviews says the screen changes. That is only when the stereo is in demo mode which can easily be turned off. Settings are easy to use as well. The quality is great for a stereo under $200 and the touch screen is how you would expect. I love this stereo. It doesn't have customization as far as looks go but it works awesome and looks great for an even better price. Sure there are better touch screens out there but not for this price
Pros: Bluetoooth, iphone compatible, usb compatible, hands free, touch screen, looks awesome and works great
Cons: Only 1 usb
I wanted the touch screen without the cost and modification of a double din in my truck. This seemed like the next best thing. Worked pretty well for a little while, but now I can't wait to get rid of the thing. I used to get around 10 radio stations in my town and now I only get about 2 after installing this deck. When I'm in Bluetooth mode it cuts out like it's buffering and seems like it's getting worse and worse every day. Won't let me play DVDs because it says the vehicle has to be in park even though my truck was parked, parking brake set manually, even with truck turned off but ignition on....nothing. I would never buy this again, spend a little more and get something quality built.
Cons:Crutchfield response on December 23, 2014 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
The installation was fairly straight forward. Had a friend who is very tech savy so we worked on it together.
Pros: Price, functionality and easy to use. Bluetooth is great to have in a late model vehicle. DVD and back up camera is a cool feature to have. Playing Pandora through the bluetooth and using the screen to adjust playlist.
Cons: The LCD quality is a little to contrasting. The control didn't work.
I received 2 out of the box that were bad so I really do not have much of a review other than they must have a QC problem.
good quality , I wish the screen would lock out and the screen changes automatically I prefer it stay on the one I put it on.
Pros: looks good in the dash much better than original like the usb and the acc port for sirus . and also I hooked up a backup camera that works great too
Cons: I wish the screen would lock out and the screen changes automatically I prefer it stay on the one I put it on
Ordered this product on a Saturday and had it Tuesday. The product installed flawlessly using the supplied wiring harness. This item was bought for my daughter's car and she loves it.
Pros: Fast Shipping, Ease of Installation, has multiple uses
Cons: Some modification to dash trim piece might be required but not a big deal.
The touch screen is very responsive and all functions work very well. The Bluetooth quality is outstanding. All of my friends want one after seeing mine.
Pros: The Bluetooth makes answering phone calls easier and the radio pushes all speakers equally.
Nice radio for the money
Pros: DVD player and price
Cons: No display changes, Took a bit of radio knowledge to wire it up Subwoofer output is single rca
first off it does not fit in a 97 ford club wagon. The unit has to be pulled out almost to the point of it falling out because the dash is slanted backwards. when they say the unit has an out of date display their right. The screen doesnt move like a smart phone its sluggish. This would of been cool 10 years ago. Finding a radio station is a complete pain. the mic is useless. save your money. my wife bought this for me but if I saw it I would of looked the other way Wives dont buy this for your husbands.
Pros: it plays a dvd
Cons: everything above. unless you find it in a dumpster dont get it
A very dependable radio. Good look and good fit.
Cons: Outdated wiring. Has power line with old fuse circuit connection that is no longer applicable.
So to be fair when buying a head unit in the neighborhood of 200 dollars it is good value for money... But not much more. I have an Samsung s4 and the Bluetooth phone is horrible... Scrolling through contacts is not possible and the contacts are all synced to the wrong numbers... Call one friend and get another... Really really annoying. Get past that and the next problem is the unit which boasts how you have have a rear view camera and watch movies is full of it you can only use one feature at a time... So you can't see the rear view camera while playing music and etc. Also I followed the MasterSheet to the letter and the unit would get stuck when the screen came up so I had to put the little pocket on top. Sound quality seems decent but I really cant be a fair judge because I'm in the middle of a full audio rebuild. Generally would say its not bad provided you can make sure the features work but in terms of actually finding the people at Jensen to help it seems impossible because its like they don't exist. But the support at Crutchfield was most helpful and the unit was installed quickly enough.
Pros: Cheap... A lot of features... Convenient.
Cons: You get what you pay for Plasticy. Can't do 2 things at once. Phone is impossible. BT audio won't show what's playing only that there's no video signal... Etc
i've had a lot of radios over the years.but this one is the best by far! to install it was so easy took about half hour maybe a hour at most it took longer and was more complicated to take apart the dash than to install this radio! not just that but the bluetooth is amazing! it connects automatically to my phone which is amazing and i love it so much! no more cords all over the place!! which is a big thing for me. something i really like is i can get into my car and wont have to touch any buttons this radio automatically syncs to my phone so in 20seconds my radio is playing right where i left it last time i was in the car!! this is hands down the best radio!
Pros: style coolness very loud easy to install durable
Good product and sounds good camera is awesome
Pros: Sound value and features
Cons: Touch screen is a little hard to get do what ya won't
FM tuner is very sensitive. VERY slow to settle on station in search (AFC lock, I assume) AM very sensitive, probably 75 miles in daytime. CD works as normal, very nice backlight in the CD opening to indicate where to insert the discs. DVD works fine. The fold out touch screen displays an irrelevant image of auto gauges in the background that make the display difficult to read. The image looks like something left over from initial product design that was for demo purposes so viewers didnt just see a blank screen. EQ is defective. Hold the touch button to raise a band level and at the top, the level stops and wont go down when pushing the opposite button, have to turn the unit off to reset it. Display screen size and resolution are fine for close viewing. The screen slides part way straight out, then rotates up to vertical. Problem is that the screen automatically retracts when the vehicles ignition key is shut off. The screen should NOT go into unexpected motion. THIS UNIT DOES NOT FIT IN THE 1990s CHEVY S-10s although Crutchfield says it does. I have a 1995. The display screen hits the shift lever when the lever is in Park. The Users Manual does not explain EQ operation.
Pros: The audio amps are very clean, 13 W/ch, lower powered amps naturally have lower noise figures (THD). 13 x 4 is more than enough in a pickup truck cab. The unit draws about 1.9A DC current at low volume levels, thats fairly low current draw. The AC current mainly depends on volume level and speaker impedance. The rotary volume encoder has easy to feel steps and has a wide adjustment range, instead of going only a few clicks and turning the volume way up.
Cons: The display has an image that make the display difficult to read, it looks like something left over from initial product design that was for demo purposes so viewers didnt just see a blank screen. FM preset buttons have a ring that lights to indicate a button press; the beep to confirm is delayed, making the user think the button needs to be pressed harder. Parking brake wire comes out the cabinet in the wrong location, should be with the other power wires.
Bought this as a gift and helped install it. I was really impressed with the functions for the price. I was extremely impressed with the sound quality from the phone/mic
Pros: It's easy to learn the functions. Really cool looking
Cons: None at this point
I bought this unit because I wanted a DVD player to watch moves on "while parked" on long road trips. I installed this in my 2012 dodge ram 1500 with ease. I was very impressed with the picture quality and also sound quality. The blue tooth worked well also. I've only had this unit for a couple of days, but I have a feeling that It's a winner. The only unappealing thing is the LCD colors, but how often will you actually be looking at that part of the receiver....
Pros: easy installation, price, picture and sound
Cons: color of dislay
Good unit, all the features worked. Good sound quality.
Pros: Low cost, lots of features, good sound quality
Cons: The mic doesn't pickup very well. Everyone says they can hardly hear me when using the hands free calling.
product not what was expected, Bluetooth volume very low, will not stream audio with Bluetooth
Cons:Crutchfield response on June 3, 2014 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Installation of the unit was extremely easy. I haven't noticed any real problems with the touchscreen other than you have to be pretty precise when touching buttons or it sometimes won't register the touch - it doesn't have the sensitivity of an iPhone, but then again I didn't have to commit to a 2 year contract to get it for $200, so overall I am very satisfied with the functionality of the touchscreen. The Bluetooth works great when the phone is near the unit - I noticed it would occasionally cut in and out if the phone fell between my legs or the seat - but when connected, the sound quality is great.
Pros: Easy installation, Bluetooth, Great Sound Quality Hands-Free Calling
Cons: No major cons so far

I don't know what auto mode is so no help there... The camera will automatically turn on when you are reversing, as the wiring for the camera you use is hooked into the reverse light circuit... The radio will use whatever camera you want to, so your mirror imaging, field of view, and quality is dependent on the backup camera you have... It can use any camera you want, it doesn't come with one. Just make sure you run your camera through video quality RCA cable. [ Ben Jan 19, 2015 ]
I'm assuming you are talking about the camera for backing up. That is sold separately, and the field of view would depend on the type of camera. the radio does have an input for the reverse sensing. I think most newer cars have that connection available. You would have to rig up something for an older car; probably hook it to the backup lights, I would guess. I haven't bought a camera for mine. I've installed successfully Jensen VX3010 in 2006 Pontiac G6. [ Andrey Jan 12, 2015 ]
i installed mine in a 2001 ford f 250 with no problem if this helps you any. [ james Dec 28, 2014 ]
Hey Demetrio, In response to your inquiry regarding the Jensen VX3010, I've successful installed it not only in my 1999 Corvette, but also in my 2002 EZGO Golf Cart. Of course, I had to make a few modifications, but they were fairly easy. This is coming from a guy who knows nothing about installations except for reading the instructions and a little common sense. Two things you may want to know, which are, the radio will protrude about 3/4 in. more then normal to allow for the monitor to extract. Also view the directions to apply second ground I hope this helps you enjoy the Jensen DVD player as much as my family and I. Between the Bluetooth option and the DVD, you can't go wrong... I don't think so. I looked through the settings, and didn't see any way to. I would have looked in the the manual, but I have misplaced it. [ Rex Aug 03, 2014 ]

Auxiliary Input impedance: 10k Power Supply: 11 to 16VDC, negative ground Power Antenna (Blue): 500mA max, current limited protection Amplifier Remote (Blue/White): 500mA max, current limited protection Operating Temperature: -20C ~ 65C Fuse: 15-amp, mini ATM DIN chassis dimensions: 7" X 7" X 2" (178mm x 178mm x 50mm) Got this from the manual on Jensen website [ Derrick Jun 15, 2014 ]
I don't have the demensions, those should be available in the details on line. Mine fit nicely into the factory slot in my 92 Dodge truck. One problem you need to be aware of however is interference with what is located above the radio on the dash. My Dodge has climate control levers sticking out far enough so the screen of the Jenson could not open and stand up vertically. I had to build an adapter that makes the radio stand further out from the dash so the screen can open all the way. [ Charles Jun 15, 2014 ]
although I can't answer with precision, since it is already in my dash. I can say that it is a standard half DIN height and standard width. I put it in the same place (using the same adapter kit) as my previous Kenwood. When the screen comes out, it of course takes up more visible real estate in your vehicle. and if there are vents (and anything else) located above the area of the radio, it will be blocked. As for the depth it did not look unusually deep. On top of that, It actually protrudes out from the dash about a half inch, which it must, so that the screen mechanism can position itself correctly. I will be reviewing this radio soon. [ Rex Jun 15, 2014 ]
I'm not exactly sure about the measurements but I would not buy this radio I had it for a month and returned it the bluetooth feature was horrible it would sound like a skipping CD the United would lagg it was supper slow when it would turn on save up a little more money and get something better [ jesse Jun 15, 2014 ]
