Bluetooth® connectivity and more

Jensen's VX3020 DVD receiver adds capabilities to your car's audio system that you won't find with your stock factory radio. Bluetooth connectivity allows you to take and make calls using your compatible phone through the stereo, all while keeping your hands on the wheel when talking. An outboard microphone lets your callers hear you clearly, even in noisy vehicles. Built-in A2DP technology allows you to stream music from your smartphone through this Jensen without the hassle of plugging in.

Crank the tunes

You'll get more enjoyment from your road trip song selections with Jensen's 3-band equalizer to set the sound the way you want it. And the VX3020 will play nearly any kind of disc, while the front USB input lets you pull songs from your thumb drive, Android phone, iPod®, or iPhone®.

Multimedia on the highway

The VX3020 includes front and rear audio/video inputs so you can add on a portable audio player, camcorder, or other video sources.  And for the safety-minded, a dedicated input on the rear panel accommodates an optional rear-view camera.

Want to keep your steering wheel audio controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Easy to install and way worth it for the price.

    Buyer Beware.

    AndrewF from Oregon on 7/3/2015

Don't Buy It if you want to use your phone or the USB function. If you only want to listen to the radio, play CD's or maybe watch a movie, then it's ok. But if you want to buy a DVD receiver that all the functions work as expected, don't buy this one. It's a great gift if you want to frustrate and annoy any tech savvy or technically skilled person. Also the remote that comes with it does not, and has never worked with that particular model.

Pros: It's cheap. If you only want to play CD's, movies and listen to the radio, then it's perfect.

Cons: It only works well with bluetooth if you have an iPhone. If not, you have to download the patch, but I was too unhappy to even try it. The USB only works if you are a Geek and know how to troubleshoot a half a dozen problems just to get it to play a song.

The unit is fairly light, and the installation was mostly pain free. My biggest complaint is that the unit takes a good 20 seconds to start up. When I start the truck in the morning, I then buckle up, check the mirrors and then shift into reverse. I usually have to wait another 5 seconds for the VX3020 to come on, so I can see the camera output.

Pros: Good sound, clean display, and easy setup.

    Cons: Slow to turn on.

All I want is a dimmer. That's all, and this thing would have 5 stars. Why would they make a head unit without a dimmer??? I suggest spending a little more money and getting a higher end unit if you can afford it.

Pros: Easy to install. Easy to use. Sound is quality for the price. It's solid in its brackets, there's no give and it feels right when I press buttons.

Cons: Bluetooth cuts in and out sometimes (not very often). The microphone is absolute garbage. THE DIMMER! There is none. It really needs a display dimmer.

Good value. Provides everything you could need in an after market radio. I matched it to a backup camera and It provides a nice view. It does tend to lag when it is activation mode but it works well.

Pros: Provided the USB and phone jack connections on the front. Great price!

Cons: A little lag when switching in menu mode. I have to reset the random setting every time the signal gets interrupted by a phone call.

    NEEDS SOME IMPROVEMENT

R from Chicago, Illinois on 11/9/2014

    2003 Nissan 350Z
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this receiver to replace the BOSE factory one came with my Nissan 350Z. I have always despised the performance and sound quality of that sound system so anything would be an improvement. The most important aspect of the replacement receiver was going to be the sound quality of the CD player. The additional features of a DVD player, BlueTooth adaptability, etc., were nice but secondary. First off, the power of this receiver is minimal so you need additional amplification. The sound quality is good but not great; the graphic equalizer function is a real plus. However the product lacks some basic features that are standard with most car stereo receivers and the lack thereof really affects the "ease of use": 1) You cannot fast forward or rewind during the playing of a CD track; if I want to advance to or go back in a song, I cannot. 2). You can't easily go back to the beginning of a track; if you use the "back" function, it goes to the previous song, not to the beginning of the one your are listening to. These two annoying aspects of this Jensen receiver need to be fixed in future models.

Pros: Very versatile: CD/DVD player, BlueTooth adaptability, multiple inputs for other devices. The graphic equalizer really allows you to craft the sound you want to hear.

Cons: The poor design of the "back" and "forward" functions on the CD player is very annoying.

    Value for the price tag

Tyler from Chicago, IL on 10/20/2014

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit essentially has all of the main hardware of a much more expensive unit where you essentially pay for software. For the price of the model you get all of the same functionality of more expensive models. Sound quality is great compared to some other more expensive models and the graphic equalizer helps a lot as well. I could point out all of the tings it cannot do, but i should point out everything it does do for the better price. aside from some connectivity issues with the bluetooth, and a less intuitive user interface, this unit has good value.

Pros: Sound quality is great compared to some other models and the graphic equalizer helps a lot as well. This unit essentially has all of the main hardware of a much more expensive unit where you essentially pay for software. For the price of the model you get all of the same functionality of more expensive models.

Cons: it is not as refined as the more expensive models. customization in appearance is null, song data on bluetooth does not display but these are all minimal differences. the major differences i found were - less reliability with the bluetooth, it does not automatically connect as well, and it cuts out for fractions of a second randomly -

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great product for the money. It does everything that they say it will do. Especially like the built in equalizer function.

Pros: Connects with my iPod via the USB port. Connects with my Android via Bluetooth. And just a quick push of a button to switch between the two while streaming my music. The ease in connecting was easy and straight forward. I only needed to use the Metra wiring kit. The mounting brackets and screws from the factory stereo fit on the new stereo.

Cons: The touch screen is a bit iffy. Sometimes I need to warm my fingers, before it will register. The Bluetooth music stream is a bit choppy, but that problem must exist with my Galaxy S4, because my IPhone music stream sounds great.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As with other reviews, the responsiveness of the screen is dodgy. Sometimes a single press is sufficient, sometimes it takes a few. Sound quality is fine, decent EQ customization. The Bluetooth microphone seems to do OK after some fine tuning, the Bluetooth streaming however is spotty for me. I'm not sure how much is my phone (documented Bluetooth streaming issues) and how much is the unit. Will need to test with another device.

Pros: Touchscreen with higher end features without the higher end price tag.

Cons: General lack of responsiveness on touchscreen

    Good Sound and Price

Tony from miami, fl. on 9/18/2014

I've been using the VX3020 for a couple of weeks. Good sound and quality. One of the problems I have with this unit is a loud Pop when changing stations or sources with the preamp outputs; I have not tried connecting the speakers directly. The other is that it skips some radio stations when seeking, even on Distance, these stations can be entered manually and they sound ok without any noise. Hopefully some of the problems could be fixed with a firmware upgrade which one is already out for Bluetooth on Android.

Pros: Good sound, EQ options. Bluetooth streaming. iPod integration. SWC without an adapter. Upgradable firmware.

Cons: A bit slow interface, sometimes unresponsive, you need to hit menu to restore the touch screen. Skips weak radio stations when seeking, even on DX. Loud pop on preamp out when changing stations/sources. Audio shuts with rear view camera (luckily not on a Bluetooth call). Video noise with jLink ipod cable. Low volume on Bluetooth mic. Only 1 background.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I spend a lot of time in my car, therefore I wanted to upgrade from my standard deck to something that would allow me to stream music from my phone, and had hands free as I am always on my phone. While this product does offer those features, the quality is poor. When streaming music from my S4 via BT, it is clear the connection is weak even with the phone directly in front of the deck. The music will play, yet it is constantly stoping and starting as if it were a record skipping. The quality of the microphone isnt the best, everyone always asks me if I am in my car which means it picks up a lot of back ground noise. There for I cannot use this feature unless all the windows are up (obviously), and I am traveling less than 35 mph

Pros: Upgrade from a standard deck with BT & hands free

Cons: The quality of those extra features is poor to the point I dont even use them.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fits vehicle very well, and easy to install. The touch screen is a little sluggish, because they use the older and less expensive pressure technology. Not as many features as the pricier models. Though this receiver has options that some of the higher end models do not have. Bluetooth works well. The radio reception is better than OE receiver. Makes the old stock speaker sound better. Back up camera ready, and DVD player with several A/V outputs.

Pros: Looks great. Fits well in Toyota truck. Great for the price.

Cons: Must be patient with touch screen. DVD player requires parking brake ground , and directions do not make this clear or provide necessary wiring.

I bought this unit to add bluetooth and backup video to my 2012 Jeep Liberty. Installation was pretty straight forward and simple using a Maestro. The Bluetooth calling feature works well, but the sound quality of the microphone isnt great. The stereo starts up slow, so I can't just jump in the car and expect the backup camera to work right away. I am usually out of my driveway before the video is up.

    2006 Toyota Tacoma
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I honestly would have rated the unit higher had I been more impressed with the bluetooth and Jensen's customer service. The stereo sounds great. The equalizer does a really good job of making the most out of the music that you put into it. The remote didn't work out of the box, but I never use those things anyway, so no points deducted there. The touch screen was not very responsive. I tried recalibrating it but it seemed like it only responded after hitting the on screen button more than once on occasion. The display is fixed and there are no options for customization that I could find. The real hit to this unit came when I upgraded my phone from a Galaxy S3 to an S5. The bluetooth worked well with the S3 with the occasional pause in the music which was bearable for a unit at this price point. When I got my S5 the music continually skipped like I had put a bad CD in. Jensen's customer service was very quick to say that it was a Samsung problem and that I would have to call them. Samsung stayed on the phone with me for over an hour resetting the phone and emptying caches but nothing would seem to work. (I tried a Soundstream unit as well with my S5 and it worked well over bluetooth) Ultimately I would say it's a solid unit for the price, but if you have an S5 and want it to do bluetooth, it may not be the right unit. I'm definitely glad that Crutchfield has the 60 day guarantee. They were very helpful trying to troubleshoot the bluetooth issue as well.

Pros: Good sound connected and over bluetooth (when it works) Good picture with DVD playback Great sound control with the multiple band equalizer Good volume control (no quick jumps) It works well at low and high volumes

Cons: Touchscreen is not very responsive Unit takes a while to boot up Jensen's customer service wasn't the best Not a lot of display customization Bluetooth doesn't seem to want to work with Galaxy S5

    Nice product.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far, most of what I read in the other reviews has been correct. For the price this is a nice stereo. The touch screen is much like a GPS unit, not quite as good as a tablet computer. It is a little slow to start up, but not that bad. Normally going by the time I take off driving. The DVD quality is good and the sound is just what I needed. In my opinion a great purchase for the money. I would recommend it to anyone.

Pros: Ease of install. Good sound and video quality, fits nicely.

Cons: The only con is that grounding wire for the DVD player.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I built this radio to replace a single DIN that was installed in my Toyota Tundra. I had to purchase the left and right mounting brackets from the dealer as they were gone. The brackets were a dealer only part. Once I had the brackets the install was very easy. The radio looks and works great. I was not looking for a very expense radio and this unit had everything I wanted. The radio turner works great. It has blue tooth and I was easily able to connect my iPhone for handfree and can stream Pandora through my phone to the radio. The DVD player is neat but I don't think I will use it much, however, the kids love it and like watching shows in the truck. The CD player works great.

Pros: Excellent radio for the price. Has many options found on more costly units. Install was a piece of cake.

Cons: It does take about 15 seconds or so for the radio to "boot-up" when the truck is started, but that is very minor.

    2004 Jaguar X-Type
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I didn't have high hopes for this stereo given the price, but I did expect it to work properly. The Bluetooth audio streaming function just doesn't work at all with my Samsung. The audio goes in and out constantly. Some Crutchfield tech said it sounded like a software problem, but you know what? Samsung is the single most popular phone brand in the world, so that isn't an excuse. If you make a Bluetooth stereo, test it out with a Samsung phone. I also downloaded a bunch of third-party apps to see if I could solve the problem using different software, but no dice. Strangely, the Bluetooth phone function seems to work fine. Other problems: My radio station presets are sporadically lost or are displayed incorrectly. The screen flickers when I turn on my headlights (might be a Jaguar thing, but who knows?) The touchscreen isn't very responsive. Start-up time is pretty long. As a side note, for those of you considering this for your DVD viewing pleasure, note that you must wire this stereo in with your parking brake, or you will not be able to watch DVDs on the primary screen. On the plus side, installation was easy. The sound is really nice on my factory (crap) speakers. And it looks pretty nice in my car.

Pros: The sound is pretty nice.

Cons: Unusable Bluetooth audio streaming on Samsung phones. Station presets lost or displayed incorrectly. Unresponsive touchscreen. Flickering screen. Slow start-up time.

    Love it.

    2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price, this is a great unit. Installed in an '07 Wrangler Unlimited soft-top. Only two minor (IMO) issues. The first is that while streaming music via bluetooth (someone else described the same issue), the bluetooth is very choppy and the music stops playing for half a second or so, every few seconds. Since I don't use it often, and since it doesn't happen while making "bluetoothed" calls, this isn't a deal breaker for me. Secondly, I've noticed that local radio stations don't come in that clear (read another review about this too). I believe that this is just an antenna issue, as at one point during installation, I did receive good clarity on numerous stations, until final install. I don't listen enough to the radio to care much about this either. Regardless though, if you're going to use it for handsfree driving, for an iPod, Aux (cable and/or component), .mp3, CD, or DVD, this is a great budget unit that has a lot of bang-for-your-buck. As always though, you get what you pay for.

Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use and navigate menus, good button response, nice display, great sound quality and different sound settings for each input/output type, has a remote, mute button is always handy, can be set up for a backup camera.

Cons: Not able to adjust brightness of the screen, cannot personalize background colors or dispaly, bluetooth spasms while streaming music, and potential radio station reception issue that may or may not be a quick fix.

Nice replacement, however the bluetooth leaves a lot to be desired. Phone connection is very faint when on a call so you need to quickly turn the volume down at the end of the call or you will blow out your speakers. Playing media sounds like your listening to a 1970's am radio. Value is great for everything else, but considering i bought this for the bluetooth, i am disappointed.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Install into my Passat was a pain, none of the factory wiring diagrams matched what I found in the CAR. After an painstaking afternoon of installing the head unit I finally succeeded. The unit is what you would expect for the prince, the processor is fairly slow, so updating the screen and all functions come with a delay. The unit takes about 10 to 15 seconds to start-up. The Bluetooth feature works fine, however the phone volume is factory set so low, that after answering the first logical step is dial in the volume, have not found a setting to permanently change it to a higher volume.

Pros: Cheap, with all the features needed and then some. Great entry model

Cons: Slow to update and start-up. The initial phone volume is to low

Great radio for the price. Has all the features you would want from a high end model, for 1/2 the price. If you want a touchscreen that is packed with features and adds a level of class to your vehicle, then this one is perfect for the price.

Pros: Looks great. Bright display. Bluetooth is flawless. Responsive touchscreen. Phone interface works great and voice quality is excellent. Others have complained that the touchscreen is slow. The touchscreen is NOT like a iPad touchscreen, but more like a Garmin GPS touchscreen.

Cons: Slow boot time when car starts. But not a deal breaker.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this on my 2003 Chevy s10 pickup to replace a dead factory radio. The install was straightforward and the wiring harnes made hooking it up a breeze. The unit take a while to "boot" up and the bluetooth connection is fairly quick. The touch screen is very slow to respond and I found myself having to hit a selection several times before it registered. Not good when your driving. The A2DP connection for streaming music was spotty at best. It kep cutting in and out and made it unusable. I have a brand new Note 3, so I am pretty sure it's not the phone's problem. However, the handsfree calling was excellent: clear on both ends. The sound was a bit thin, but that might be the speakers in my truck. Radio reception was below average. Many stations that come in clear in my other car were very staticy on this radio. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap radio and don't expect too much, this would be okay. I lost patience with the slow touch response and will be replacing it with something else.

Pros: Clear handsfree calling. Easy installation

Cons: Poor A2DP media streaming, poor radio reception, poor touchscreen response

This is a good product for the price, but I am not 100% satisfied with the way it works...if I had it to do over I would pick something different

Pros: Has all if the options for USB, aux, cd, radio, DVD, blue tooth and a back up camera. Sounds quality is great.

Cons: Can be hard to navigate due to touch screen response time. Sometimes I have to press the same icon 3-4 times before it's responds. This is not conducive to safe driving in my opinion. Also can't seem to get dimmer to work so it's lit at night which is distracting. Finally, I can't change the backdrop on the screen and I greatly dislike the one it came with. Really though it would come with option to dim and change backdrop

    2011 Nissan Xterra
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this in my work rig - a 2011 Nissan Xterra. Had no problems with the install. Three things I was looking for: 1) bluetooth connectivity, 2) iPod/iPhone connectivity, 3) touchscreen interaction. 1) The bluetooth works well - I haven't had any problems with sound quality or dropped calls. The stereo will remember up to five different BT devices, but will not connect with more than one at once. This means that if my work phone is connected, and I get a call on my personal phone, I have to disconnect the first phone and connect the second phone before the BT feature will work. A little cumbersome, but this might be a limitation on BT technology rather than a limitation of the stereo. I don't know. Also, it would be better if you could access your favorites list for making calls. It will access recent calls and your contacts list, but it is not easy to navigate through the contacts list on the stereo - much easier to use the interface on your phone to place the call. 2) The iPhone music playback works great, I mostly do Pandora and podcasts. 3) I like the touchscreen setup as it is a little more intuitive than a standard button interface stereo. Other reviewers have complained about the touchscreen - I find that it is not as sensitive as my iPhone, but it is no different than my Garmin GPS unit. Menus and settings are very easy to work through on the touchscreen.

Pros: Bluetooth iPhone connectivity Touchscreen Lots of features for a great price

Cons: Can only connect to one bluetooth device at a time Contacts list interaction with bluetooth connected phone

Installed this receiver in a 2006 Ford F150. Install was quick and painless. Receiver looks great and has great features for this price point. Bluetooth functions work great and radio sounds great! Start up time is a little slow but not overly long. Overall, I would recommend this receiver to anyone who needs a full featured head unit on a budget.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased and installed this unit in my 2007 Hummer H3. I knew getting into it that I was not going to get the experience and features of a 800$ unit. But I was suprised. The touch screen is slow to respond, and this is really the only issue I have with the unit, start time is also a little longer than what you could expect when you pay more. Good news is, the Bluetooh is flawless and streams music and makes and recieves calls with a breeze, the included mic is directional which makes it easy for your callers to ehear you, just find a spot for the mic within 3 feet of you and you shouldnt have any issues. Installation was a breeze also and I also installed a backup cam. screen is clear, but wish the unit had a tilt feature. Again, not somthing I was worried about knowing since I was only paying a modest amount.

Pros: Bluetooth is flawless. Sound quality is good, lots of music options

Cons: touch screen is slow to respond due to small processor.

    Chris from Florida on 4/23/2014

Installed this in a 2001 F250. Easy install, standard wire colors, and worked well. I did not expect a 700 dollar experience but I am happy with what I see. For the user with the Subaru, the 2002 was the first year with an Antenna booster on your in glass antenna. The symptoms you say you experienced are classic of the power lead not being connected. I would check your install harness and make sure any radio is wired correctly. A quick google search will show you where it is. Hope that helps on your next radio.

Pros: Clean design, straight forward functions. Remote Mic for Bluetooth. Streams well from an S4. I like that I could increase the volume on my streaming to balance it out with the other sources. My previous radio could not do that.

    Cons: None yet

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Put this unit in a 2005 Ford F-150. Mostly wanted this unit to have basic Bluetooth and rear camera. I would say the touch screen is a little clunky, and the menus don't "flow" well. You really hav to be precise on touch screen and wait for the unit to respond. I would be outraged if I had spent $600 or more, I was prepared for a less expensive unit to perform as such. Bluetooth and camera features work great. Only item that doesn't quite work is the dash illumination signal. Could be my vehicle dimming signal doesn't agree with this unit. When dimming the dash lights, the screen flickers unless on full brightness. Overall, price point meets functionality. If you are looking for a simple unit this one will do the trick.

    Pros: Price for basic touchscreen.

    Cons: Touchscreen response is marginal.

    2002 Subaru Outback
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The install was fairly straight forward although the available mounting holes made this sit about 3 mm recessed into the slot (that may be more an issue with my vehicle) The boot sequence takes about 9 seconds from the time you start your car, although the Bluetooth sync is completed as soon as the display comes on which is nice. The touchscreen controls are clunky and slow to respond. There are no hotkeys so the radio is on page 1 of inputs list, to use Bluetooth or Aux, you have to change to page 2 EVERY TIME. The problems started right away. My car is a 2002 Subaru Outback which has excellent FM reception with the factory antenna. This Jensen could not see 90% of the FM dial. Large local stations were not picked up and these are stations that worked fine with the factory radio once I reinstalled it. Problems were not limited to the FM, I also use Bluetooth streaming about 1/2 the time I am in my car. The Jensen drops 0.5-1 second gaps into the audio stream every few minutes. I have never had that problem using my phone with any other Bluetooth receiver. I returned this device to Crutchfield and did not test any of the other functionality since the 2 issues above are a dealbreaker for me.

Pros: Looks good installed, phone quality is good. Huge array of EQ settings are very customizable.

Cons: Slow to start, poor audio quality on Bluetooth. Terrible FM radio reception made my radio unusable. Clunky interface.

6.2" Touchscreen Display: The Jensen VX3020 features a fixed 6.2" widescreen touchscreen LCD monitor. The screen has a resolution of 800 x RGB (x3) x 480 with 1,152,000 total pixels. This unit has touchscreen controls with interactive video graphics, making menu navigation easy. The Jensen VX3020 offers a variety of display adjustments to customize the display.

Parking Brake Detection: For safety reasons, you cannot view a video source on the built-in monitor as long as the vehicle is in motion. 2-DIN Chassis: The Jensen VX3020 has a 2-DIN chassis (also known as "Double-DIN"), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets. There is no mounting-sleeve for Euro-mount vehicles. As always, please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.

Hard-Key Controls: In addition to the unit's LCD touchscreen controls, the VX3020 also features two push-buttons and a 3-way rotary dial on the left edge of the screen.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The Jensen VX3020 is equipped with built-in Bluetooth, allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. • Making A Call: You can make a call using the Jensen in-dash head unit's front-panel controls. Outgoing calls can be made be entering telephone numbers (0-9, *, #) directly via the head unit's touchscreen. This unit does not display song/artist information from connected Bluetooth audio devices. When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

    D/A Converter: The Jensen VX3020 is equipped with a high-performance 24-bit, 192kHz digital-to-analog converter with a multi-bit Sigma-Delta modulator.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the VX3020 are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the VX3020 are as follows:

    • CEA2006 Specs: 13 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Maximum Power Output: 40 watts x 4 channels (160 watts total)

2V/5Ch Preamp Outputs w/ Subwoofer Control: The Jensen VX3020 is equipped with five 2.0-volt preamp outputs (Front/Rear/mono-Sub). The front and rear channels are fading, while the subwoofer output is non-fading with an adjustable low-pass crossover filter (Off/80/120/160Hz) and separate level control (+/-12).

EQ: The VX3020's built-in equalizer offers 8 preset sound modes (Optimal, Classic, Rock, Jazz, Techno, Pop, Flat, or User) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 3-band EQ (Bass, Mids, & Treble).

Audio Enhancements: The Jensen DVD receiver offers a variety of audio settings to enhance your listening experience in your vehicle.

    • Loudness: The Loudness feature compensates for deficiencies in the low and high sound ranges at lower volume.
    • Source Level: You can increase the relative volume (+/-6) of the unit's source inputs to match the external source's output level. The Source Level can be used for the VX3020's Radio, Disc, USB, iPod, Bluetooth, or AV input.

Beep Tones: An audible beep tone confirms each function selection. The beep tone can be disabled/enabled in the Setup Menu.

RDS AM/FM Tuner: The head unit features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, scan, preset, and direct tuning. The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible FM stations. FM stations with Radio Data System (RDS) service send inaudible digital information along with the regular radio program signal.

    • Preset Tuning: The unit features 3 FM bands and 2 AM bands with the capability of storing 6 presets for each band giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 12 AM presets (30 total). You can also automatically store the six strongest stations in your area inside the current selected band.
    • Local Seek: The unit's tuner also is equipped with a Seek mode that when used with the Local function, only allows radio stations with a strong local radio signals to be played.
    • Direct Tuning: The built-in AM/FM tuner also allows direct frequency tuning through the unit's touchscreen panel.
Note: The tuner features selectable North America and European tuning.

When an optional rearview camera is connected to this unit, the rear view image is displayed on the screen when your vehicle is placed in reverse gear (green/white wire of harness must be connected to reverse light wire of vehicle). Automatic video switching takes approximately 0.75 seconds. Audio from your music source will continue playing, while the back-up camera is displayed.

NO it has to be on it own though you auxiliary port on the front of the radio [ Theodore  Mar 31, 2015 ]
ON the radio, no. You'd have to get an external Sirius unit and connect the radio via AUX cable. [ Derek  Mar 31, 2015 ]
NO you can't this is the lowest line that Jensen has. It isn't worth the money honestly the touch screen is horrible you have to press several times before it reads your touching the screen [ ashley  Mar 31, 2015 ]
Yes it does have an eq with different frequency ranges an it is similar to the DMX 5020 far as I can see. [ David A.  Mar 22, 2015 ]
Yes it has equalizer functions that are adjustable though I've never used them. [ TIMOTHY  Mar 21, 2015 ]
Yes it has a preset selection of different equalizer settings for different styles of music.Enter an answer to this question. [ Philip  Mar 21, 2015 ]
Yes, it has an equalizer with different frequency ranges. [ RUSSELL  Mar 21, 2015 ]
Yes there is no dimmer, when i had it installed i called crutchfield. Well for the price don't except alot of features. [ Anthony  Mar 09, 2015 ]
I have this same problem as well. The display is very bright at night and have yet to figure it out. [ Gage  Mar 06, 2015 ]
If it wasn't a huge pain to take everything apart, it would be worth trying. I have mine routed under the steering over to the door side, wondering if I have it pinched somehow. How far do you have yours running? [ TIMOTHY  Mar 08, 2015 ]
The Bluetooth on my unit works great...for the first 10 seconds or so, then becomes choppy while playing music as if it's waiting for it to "load". I don't even use it because it's so terrible. As far as phone issues while making/receiving a call, I haven't had any. I have a Wrangler and can use the mic fine when driving while the top is off on my rig...BUT I have an HTC phone. Good luck! [ Derek  Feb 19, 2015 ]
This is my wife's stereo, and she has said the same thing that the audio on Bluetooth calls was very low. I was going to purchase a different microphone to see if that would fix the problem but I have not done it yet. [ WILLIAM R  Feb 18, 2015 ]
I have noticed the same thing. I have to be about 6" away from the mic for it to sound halfway decent. I was curious if a higher quality mic would solve this issue. [ adam  Feb 18, 2015 ]

Forgot to add it the ANDROID UPDATE [ Max  Feb 16, 2015 ]
On the picture it appears to be a generic trim panel to fill the gap in the existing opening of your dash. Crutchfield sent me a specific rim for my vehicle, so yours may look different when it arrives. I decided not to use mine because the stereo could not be removed from the dash once clicked into place. I had to modify my opening slightly so I was very careful not to make it too big. It looks good and I'm happy with the new features it adds to my vehicle. [ Wes  Feb 22, 2015 ]
What's show is a type of "border" for lack of a better term. You don't have to install it, it's just a small additional piece of plastic that goes around the radio in case there is space left over when you install it. It's purely aesthetic. [ RUSSELL  Feb 20, 2015 ]
That's an optional trim piece meant to cover up any gaps. When I installed mine, the unit fit perfectly without the trim piece, so I omitted it. [ Glen  Feb 17, 2015 ]
That plastic trim comes with the stereo, but I did not use it. It was redundant because we had the custom trim from the Crutchfield. [ JOHN  Feb 17, 2015 ]
It is one of the optional plates to cover the space on the dash [ John  Feb 17, 2015 ]
It's the custom cover plate, usually sized specifically for your vehicle. Mine was an absolute perfect fit, the only downside was that it is a matte black whereas most of the other items on the dash of my tundra are glossy but it still looks very good. [ TIMOTHY  Feb 17, 2015 ]
For details on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on if this will fit and what you will need for an installation in your vehicle. [ Krissy  Jan 29, 2015 ]  Staff
No it does not [ Robert  Jan 17, 2015 ]
It comes with the connector! [ Derek  Jan 17, 2015 ]
    No [ TERRANCE  Jan 16, 2015 ]
No. You will need to buy the adapter separate. [ Michael  Jan 16, 2015 ]
No you must purchase the PAC controller recommended for your make and model vehicle. This is a pretty nice radio. The blue tooth streaming is not the best in my opinion. But overall decent system for the price. [ Larry  Jan 16, 2015 ]
No it does not, it has the correct hook up for it, but it does not come with the actual module, or interface that goes between the car and head unit. I used AXXESS ASWC-1 adapter. [ Gary  Jan 16, 2015 ]
Yes you can control basic rev/fw and play/pause on the screen. Works well with Bluetooth. [ TIMOTHY  Jan 23, 2015 ]
Yes. The basic play, pause, forward and back. You can access your phone contacts and get a dial pad too. [ Tom  Jan 09, 2015 ]
No idea as mine does not fit in my car. Still in the box. Thanks Crutchfield ! [ eric  Jan 08, 2015 ]
Yes Sir,I can use the radio remote or use the touchscreen to control music [ David A.  Jan 08, 2015 ]
They're available through the unit but my experience with it has not been that great. Poor connectivity and unresponsive screen. I expected a better product for the name. You get what you pay for I guess. [ sean  Jan 08, 2015 ]
Yes the play pause skip forward and backwards work perfectly. [ FRANK  Jan 08, 2015 ]
You have full control through the head unit. [ Thomas  Jan 08, 2015 ]
    Yes it does [ Catherine  Oct 31, 2014 ]
I would think so, since they are both in the MP3 format and the only difference is in the size of the data they contain. I would think a MP3 decoder would read both. I have never had any issues playing any music from my iPhone or iPod, which I usually just Bluetooth to my stereo, or connect directly to the Jensen receiver through a USB cable. I have never burned MP3 files to a disk or thumb drive and played music that way though, but if you were going to burn it to a disk you wouldn't want to burn it to MP3 anyway when you could have the higher CD format. [ WILLIAM R  Oct 30, 2014 ]
I use it only for Bluetooth and videos so I can't really answer your question [ JODY W  Oct 30, 2014 ]
I have my phone hooked by blue tooth to the radio and a bose system it plays my mp3 files fine sounds really good. My mp3s are 320 but not sure if the radio lowers kbps but it does sound really good hope this helped.. [ Roy  Oct 30, 2014 ]

Yes this head unit has a port for your steering wheel controls. [ CHARLES  May 30, 2014 ]
I added one to my 2005 Tahoe, if its available, these guys have it. [ John  May 30, 2014 ]
Yes, but it is sold separately [ Max Esteban Zap  May 30, 2014 ]
It does have Steering Wheel Control Compatibility. [ RUSSELL  May 29, 2014 ]
Yes You will need to purchase Axxess ASWC-1 . [ FRANK  May 29, 2014 ]
The VX3020 has a 3 wire hook up for steering wheel controls. Depending on the setup of your vehicle, it may require an adapter. Check the installation instructions specific to your vehicle to see what is required. [ Thomas  May 29, 2014 ]
