    Touchscreen Display

6.2" Touchscreen Display: The Jensen VX3020 features a fixed 6.2" widescreen touchscreen LCD monitor. The screen has a resolution of 800 x RGB (x3) x 480 with 1,152,000 total pixels. This unit has touchscreen controls with interactive video graphics, making menu navigation easy. The Jensen VX3020 offers a variety of display adjustments to customize the display.

Parking Brake Detection: For safety reasons, you cannot view a video source on the built-in monitor as long as the vehicle is in motion. In order to display video, the head unit's pink wire must be hardwired into the vehicle's parking brake light circuit, and the vehicle's parking brake must be engaged.

2-DIN Chassis: The Jensen VX3020 has a 2-DIN chassis (also known as "Double-DIN"), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets. There is no mounting-sleeve for Euro-mount vehicles. As always, please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.

Hard-Key Controls: In addition to the unit's LCD touchscreen controls, the VX3020 also features two push-buttons and a 3-way rotary dial on the left edge of the screen.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The Jensen VX3020 is equipped with built-in Bluetooth, allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP (Hands Free Profile), PBAB (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Before using the unit's Bluetooth functions, you must pair your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone or audio device to the VX3020. Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some mobile devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the VX3020.

Hands-Free Communication (w/ external mic): The VX3020 supports Bluetooth hands-free communication from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. You can answer an incoming call from the head unit's touchscreen and carry on a phone conversation hands-free. The included external microphone carries on your side of the conversation while your car's speakers are used to hear the other person. You can make a call by entering the phone number, selecting a contact from your Phonebook list, or using the Call History Log of received/dialed/missed calls.

    • Answering A Call: During an incoming call, the caller's phone number will be seen on the unit's LCD and a ring-tone will be heard through your car stereo speakers. You can then manually answer the incoming call from the head unit's front-panel controls. You can also set the unit to automatically answer an incoming call within 5 seconds.
    • Making A Call: You can make a call using the Jensen in-dash head unit's front-panel controls. Outgoing calls can be made be entering telephone numbers (0-9, *, #) directly via the head unit's touchscreen. You can also search for contact names in your mobile phone's phonebook from the Jensen VX3020 and then make your call. In addition, you can make a call by searching your mobile phone's call history (Received/Dialed/Missed).

Wireless Audio Streaming: The Jensen VX3020 allows you to play back stored music and music apps from your Bluetooth enabled smartphone, tablet, or audio player. You can control basic music playback functions (Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track) from the VX3020. Advanced music navigation will still need to be done through your Bluetooth mobile device. This unit does not display song/artist information from connected Bluetooth audio devices. When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

    Disc & USB Playback

Disc Compatibility: The Jensen VX3020 has a front-loading disc-slot to make loading your disc easier. The VX3020 supports playback of DVD Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD-Audio, and CD-R/RW discs. The unit supports MPEG/AVI/Xvid video & JPEG photo files recorded on to CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs. It also supports playback of MP3/WMA music files loaded onto a CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW, or DVD+R/RW disc.

Bluetooth works great for my music and XM app on my phone, but has anyone else had poor audio quality when using the bluetooth with iphone for phone calls? I've had both the 4 and the 5s with the same issue. Multiple people on the other end of calls have told me the volume is very low, like I am talking to a phone a few feet away from my mouth-which is about right. I have tried routing the microphone a bit closer but no luck. I don't want to take everything back out to be sure the plug isn't loose if there are other things I can try.

If it wasn't a huge pain to take everything apart, it would be worth trying. I have mine routed under the steering over to the door side, wondering if I have it pinched somehow. How far do you have yours running?

The Bluetooth on my unit works great...for the first 10 seconds or so, then becomes choppy while playing music as if it's waiting for it to "load". I don't even use it because it's so terrible. As far as phone issues while making/receiving a call, I haven't had any. I have a Wrangler and can use the mic fine when driving while the top is off on my rig...BUT I have an HTC phone. Good luck!

This is my wife's stereo, and she has said the same thing that the audio on Bluetooth calls was very low. I was going to purchase a different microphone to see if that would fix the problem but I have not done it yet.

I have noticed the same thing. I have to be about 6" away from the mic for it to sound halfway decent. I was curious if a higher quality mic would solve this issue.

I downloaded the android update to a USB and then to the receiver, gave me options to download 3 different things not sure what they were did the first one fine I guess then on the second one, while downloading I started the truck and turned the power on and off (I know not smart but) after that the screen never turned back on. Got the unit replaced now the receiver doing the same thing and skipping while playing Pandora or play list. Cant find where I got the download the first time. Am I doomed to IPhone 8-( ?????

Wha'ts that black plastic rim is shows around the screen one the picture?

On the picture it appears to be a generic trim panel to fill the gap in the existing opening of your dash. Crutchfield sent me a specific rim for my vehicle, so yours may look different when it arrives. I decided not to use mine because the stereo could not be removed from the dash once clicked into place. I had to modify my opening slightly so I was very careful not to make it too big. It looks good and I'm happy with the new features it adds to my vehicle.

What's show is a type of "border" for lack of a better term. You don't have to install it, it's just a small additional piece of plastic that goes around the radio in case there is space left over when you install it. It's purely aesthetic.

That's an optional trim piece meant to cover up any gaps. When I installed mine, the unit fit perfectly without the trim piece, so I omitted it.

That plastic trim comes with the stereo, but I did not use it. It was redundant because we had the custom trim from the Crutchfield.

It is one of the optional plates to cover the space on the dash

It's the custom cover plate, usually sized specifically for your vehicle. Mine was an absolute perfect fit, the only downside was that it is a matte black whereas most of the other items on the dash of my tundra are glossy but it still looks very good.

    Q
I have a 2005 tundra with a Jensen head unit already installed I was wondering if this would be compatible with the plugs I have already installed to connect the head unit I have?

No you must purchase the PAC controller recommended for your make and model vehicle. This is a pretty nice radio. The blue tooth streaming is not the best in my opinion. But overall decent system for the price.

No it does not, it has the correct hook up for it, but it does not come with the actual module, or interface that goes between the car and head unit. I used AXXESS ASWC-1 adapter.

They're available through the unit but my experience with it has not been that great. Poor connectivity and unresponsive screen. I expected a better product for the name. You get what you pay for I guess.

Will this play 320 kbps MP3 files? I note the details list 128 kbps MP3 files, but would be very disappointed if the stereo was truly limited to this lower fidelity.

I would think so, since they are both in the MP3 format and the only difference is in the size of the data they contain. I would think a MP3 decoder would read both. I have never had any issues playing any music from my iPhone or iPod, which I usually just Bluetooth to my stereo, or connect directly to the Jensen receiver through a USB cable. I have never burned MP3 files to a disk or thumb drive and played music that way though, but if you were going to burn it to a disk you wouldn't want to burn it to MP3 anyway when you could have the higher CD format.
