So, you're finally ready to do something about your ragged factory speakers. The beauty of Kenwood's Sport Series speakers is that you can seriously improve your sound without breaking the bank.

Sweet sound

The KFC-1065S 2-way 4" speakers feature polypropylene woofer cones that will enrich your music with all the midbass and midrange details, while the 1" balanced-dome tweeters will make high notes soar. Kenwood also includes sharp-looking grilles in case you're doing a custom installation in your vehicle. Finally, you can enjoy your music the way it was meant to be heard, with clarity and emotion.

pound for pound the best bang for your buck.

four inch speakers are always a compromise at best but these are perfect for my little Chevy Tracker, fitting perfectly into the factory front mounts. Bass response is obviously not the best, but overall, for the money, these speakers work very well and are a vast improvement over stock

Pros: Fit perfectly into factory mounting, using factory speaker covers. Much better sound quality than originals, but once again, that is not saying much with the size of these speakers. Very good compromise solution at a great price.

Cons: What can I say? They're four inch speakers!

Good little speaker that fits my 1st gen toyota 4runner - most speakers do not because of the side of dash mounting locations, and also the depth of the speaker. These are shallow but still produce great sound for such a small speaker. Also shipping was EXTREMELY fast, I'm satisfied for sure!

Factory Upgrade

Written by: Jimmie H. from Illinois on January 17, 2015

An exceptional product for the price, both in durability and sound quality. I recently installed these and a new Sony head unit in a 1995 Toyota Tercel, to replace the antique factory FM radio and paper/burlap speakers in the doors. These are the only speaker holes in the car, so I needed a pair of decent speakers to do the work of four. They get the job done. Not a lot of bass at low volumes, but they kick in when I turn it up a bit and properly tune the EQ. As far as installation goes, the factory speakers were accessible by removing a small grill in the door revealing the ugly burlap factory speaker. Good news is I didn't have to remove the entire inside of the door. Bad news is the old speaker was held in with three enormous sheet metal screws, so I had to use the included template to drill four small holes to mount each speaker. Also, the Toyota speaker wire harnesses didn't match the speaker, so I had to cut, strip and crimp to get the job done. Your experience may vary. Additionally, I added spongy tape to the circumference of the hole to cut down on vibration. I recommend you do the same. Also, I got a lot of distortion at higher volumes until I adjusted the high pass frequency on my unit to 120 Hz, now it's clear as a bell!

Pros: Inexpensive Light Attractive Easy to install Decent quality

Cons: Not enough bass when used alone

This is a good speaker. It was positioned as a fit for the back speakers of a 95 M3. It is not. A couple of washers and some bent metal and it works fine, but in no way does it "fit". Plugs in just fine and sounds fine.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I ordered a pair of these for the dash of my 93 GMC K1500 truck. These work well, considering the size and the price. Of course, they aren't the best you can get, but right now I only have the stock radio in, so I don't know what they are capable of. Overall, I would highly recommend these if you want something cheap that is respectable. I have always had Kenwood's for car audio, and that is all I will buy. For the price, you can't go wrong.
