PERFECT FIT AND SOUND
Pros: THE BEST SERVICE YOU CAN EXPECT
An absolutely perfect fit. Everything you need to replace the stock speakers is in the box. The adapter to fit in the door and the wiring to plug in from the stock speakers over to these. So simple, so easy, sounds so GOOD. A no brainer purchase.
I only bought these and did not install them, but love the sound. So clear and deep
Speakers was exactly what i needed and had all the parts with it. Fit in the door just like the old speakers. Would recommend Crutchfield to anybody.
Pros: Crutchfield showed everything I needed to go with spreakers. Thanks
Cons: No Cons
Prefect fit and sounds great!
Pros: Inexpensive upgrade
Product was exactly what I needed, fair price, and easy to install. Instructions were clear and staff was very helpful!
Would recommend. Clear instructions, easy to find and order and they work great. Simple installation.
I replaced the stock front speakers with these and they are great.
Pros: Easy install, good quality for the price
solid match to rockford fosgate 6x9 in rear
Pros: great sound for minimal cost
I replaced the original speakers with these without issue and they sound great.
Pros: Easy to install and sound great
Great sound and looks good
Seemed to be quality speakers but upon testing them I found the sound to be thin and tinny. I needed more mid and base for my application. I returned the speakers.
Pros: Good overall construction
Cons: Thin sound, lacks mid and bass
Great job Crutchfield. I had everything to get the job done !
Good set of speakers. Sound similar to the stock ones on my 06 but I bought them for the tweeters
Pros: Good clear sound Cheap
Cons: Not very powerful
Very nice speakers. Good bass and good sound.
Great speakers for stock replacement with the stock head unit.Sounds way better and clearer-you can't go wrong and thank you Crutchfield
It only took 1.5 hours to install both speakers, Crutchfield send everything I needed to install
Pros: better the OEM
Cons: Had to make a few minor modifications to make it fit
These speakers make a great upgrade to the OEM speakers in my 06 Colorado. I had one speaker that was blown and rumbled all the time. These made the sound with the new Kenwood radio much crisper than stock. As others have said these do not transmit a lot of bass but more than enough for a small truck cab.
Pros: Great speaker for money.
Cons: not much bass, but not much was expected so it's all good.
Bought these for replacement front door speakers. Had clear sound from factory speakers but did not have as much bass
Pros: clear sound from factory speakers
Cons: Not much bass
I knew my original speakers were bad but didn't realize that each one was busted until I took them out. I don't know how they made any sound. The new Kenwoods sound great in my truck. After replacing all four with the Kenwoods, there is no comparison. For the price these speakers do a great job.
Great sound and Value.
Pros: Sounds great
Bought these to replace 14 year old stock rear door speakers. Although the stock didn't have any visible deterioration, after replacing them with these Kenwoods, the sound was noticeably better in terms of clarity and range. As with all speakers, I wish there was an option to order them without grills, as it is a waste to throw them out. I put same size Rockford Fosgate's component speakers in the front and found the RFs required less volume to sound optimal; possibly location of speakers, but I think it had a lot to do with the speakers themselves. Tuning the stock head unit to fade to the rear (range of F7 to R7), I found R4 just right to balance the volume needed by the Kenwoods in the rear to match the Rockford Fosgates up front. No regrets: Love it.
Pros: Price, quality, installation.
Cons: Requires more volume to match component speakers in the front.
Im not sure what everyone else is complaining about. The speaker for sure are better than the stock ones that came in the vehicle. The installation was super easy and it took me less than an hour to get the whole thing done. For the price they are great and to me it has great sound quality.
Pros: Easy install and all needed parts were included.
Cons: Had to drill 2 holes on each door for the adapter. Other than that it was an easy install.
So much better than the factory speakers in my 2014 Ford Fiesta, but then again I could have replaced them with paper cups and a string and that would have been better too. Ford really puts garbage speakers into their Fiesta's. They blow out way to easily. Seriously, these are great speakers for the cost. They are not going to give you the bass some people insist on. They sound good but are not designed to handle high volumes. A fantastic upgrade for the cost.
Pros: Great overall upgrade to the factory Ford speaker. My rating of 5-stars certainly takes into consideration the cost. If I spent a lot more per pair, these would certainly only rank 2 or 3 stars.
Cons: None when you take into consideration the cost and the purpose. A simple cost effective upgrade to factory speakers.
Best speakers you can buy for the money. 100 times better than the original speakers.
Pros: Very easy to install.
Just finished installing these int he front door of my 2001 Subaru Forester. Very easy to install, pulled off the existing door grills, unscrew the existing speakers and disconnect the factory cabling. Used wiring kit from Crutchfield and it was a matter of reconnecting and mounting the new speakers onto the speaker holder. Overall sound quality was improved compared to the factory speakers. Most noticeable was it made listening to a cell phone call much easier, it used to require turning the volume up all the way up during a phone call and then back down when the call was finished.
Now my tunes sound the way they were meant to. What a difference from the factory speakers; crisp-n-clear sound.
Pros: All hardware was included, just like advertised. Even came with instructions (just in case). Quality sound all around (purchased 4 of them).
Cons: None, zip, zero, nada.
My stock door speakers were fried! Ordered the Kenwood pair and had them installed along with a Clarion XC 300 watt amp and now I am rolling style! The sound is amazing!!
Pros: Clear, crisp sound.
Cons: No cons!
I replaced my stock speakers with these. The sound is good, but the bass is basically non-existent. I have these running from a new Kenwood double din deck. I assumed they would handle the wattage, but they do not.
Pros: Easy install, cheap price
Cons: lacking bass and mids
Nice sounding speakers. Good for someone who wants to upgrade from stock, but is on a budget.
Pros: Nice highs Easy installation
Cons: Bass is a little punch
I was having issues with my stereo so i thought with only one speaker providing sound. I pulled one of the non-functioning speakers door panels off and discovered that i was getting AC signal but the speaker, while it looked to be in good shape, was not working. I went to "What fits my car?" and found the most economical replacements. These speakers may be cheap but they perform well, they even put a little bass out. I did not end up using the adapter plates but modified the plastic, read break off, around the speaker mounting location and made new holes in the factory plastic flanges.
Pros: Good economy sound for a two-way speaker. Have a little bass to them.
Cons: Stamped steel flange is a little flimsy but worked well for my application.
This speaker deliver the sound for your bucks, not expensive at alleasy to install with the installation kit from Crutchfield, really loving the crispy sound of my new speakers
Pros: Clear, cripy ,sound!!
Cons: Nothing yet
These speakers sound great and were a breeze to install. The included accessories (brackets and wiring harnesses) made the install simple.
Pros: Perfect fit Easy installation All required accessories and instructions included
I have a kenwood DNX890HD and the stock speakers sounded ok. Head unit 22 watts rms, so I figured the upgraded speakers would sound better, but sounded worse! Bass was a joke and sounded like junk. I was ready to put the stocks back and return these, but I wanted to hear them with an amp and they were 100% better. Amp is overkill (I use them for subs) but I kept the gain low and the kenwoods sound clear, loud and has bass! I was shocked at how good they sound now. I did not want to put an amp, but the kenwoods really needed it.
Pros: Low price
Cons: Not great with just head unit. Needs an amp.
In my opinion, for the cost you just can't beat these. I bought these to put in the front doors of my wife's car since she's been rolling around with 1/4 speakers working. As of this writing they are hooked directly to the stock head unit (for now). My wife loves them, for $40 I'm very satisfied.
Pros: Bass is surprisingly punchy/tight; maybe I just lucked out with the volume of the door cavities matching the characteristics of the speakers well? Who knows? I think this will be even better with a proper head unit/amp; though the RMS rating for these is low so I'll have to be careful.
Cons: Power handling is low; not really a con for $40 speakers, but keep it in mind if you're wiring these up to an amplifier.
Good little replacement for factory speakers. Good sound, decent bass and no distortions. Kenwood is always my go to for car audio!!
Pros: Price, and performance
Very good , clear sounding , easy to install
Fit and sound great
Pros: Speakers and front brackets fit perfectly, re-used the original back brackets
Got these for my front doors and higher end Excelon Kenwood speakers that fit the rear doors. Put one of these in the front door and did a direct A/B comparison with the balance control. My stock speaker had significantly better sound, especially the low end. This is a more full range speaker with the tweeter than the stock speaker, but with stock tweeters in place near the dash, the weak, tinny bass of this speaker made me pull it out and reinstall the stock speaker. With a subwoofer, these would probably provide decent mids and highs, but I was not looking to go this route but I'm thinking about it now. I am keeping the Kenwood Excelon KFC-X173's for the rear doors which were about twice the price.
Pros: Saved money by buying Kenwood speakers with my new receiver
Cons: Very weak bass, stock speaker was better sounding with separate stock tweeter
You get what you pay for.....they pass signal/emit sound and are OK for the money, I guess. But if you like music, spend a little more for something better. Lackluster bass frequency response, probably because they don't weigh much, i.e. magnet size. They also didn't fit my vehicle that well, and the 'free' installation gear is awkward and doesn't inspire confidence. Also, a note to Crutchfield - the system which tells you what equipment fits your make/model/year isn't really accurate. Speakers listed on Crutchfield as not being compatible with my car installed perfectly (purchased elsewhere)....and they fit much better than these speakers ever did. Thankfully Crutchfield has a liberal return policy.
Cons: Didn't fit well, wimpy mounting hardware, poor overall speaker performance for corksniffers like me, lackluster bass response
I purchased 4 of these speakers along with the Kenwood DPX792BH receiver. I installed the receiver first just to gauge how it sounded with the stock speakers and, indeed, sounded cleaner. I replaced the front door speakers with these 6 1/2" speakers (stock were 6 3/4"). The receiver gives each channel 22w rms. These speakers sound crisp and clean. I faded the music all to the front and I turned them up as loud as I would care to stand and no distortion! Whoever said these don't put out bass must have a crappy stock radio and/or their EQ set improperly. I turned bass boost off and set EQ to Powerful and these speaker vibrate my doors nicely. I can't wait to replace my rear seat 6x9's with my 2nd pair. Highly satisfied with my purchase and Crutchfield. Buy these speakers now.
Pros: Inexpensive, value, quality
Cons: Likely wouldn't hold up with amplifier power
The speakers were exactly as described. They came with the wiring and bracket that was needed for my vehicle so install was a breeze. I installed both rear speakers in about 1 1/2 hours, I had to remove basically the extra cab side skin. Most importantly, the speakers sound great for the price!
Pros: Easy Breezy Install
Cons: They don't come with a technician in the box to install them.
The speakers were very easy to install thanks to the connectors that were included. The Kenwood speakers replaced the blown factory speakers. The sound is ok but I'm sure I could of spent a little more for better speakers.
Pros: Low price Easy installation
Cons: Lacks bass
I used these to replace my factory door speakers and they sound nice I'm going to pair them with nicer ones in the rear since my car only has 4 speakers total but really nice door speakers for the price.
Pros: Best speaker for the price
Easy to install. Huge improvement from factory speakers.
Pros: Its Kenwood! Great sound quality!
This is the second set of these i have bought to replace thoughs old door speakers in my yukon. There isn't much bass just because I'm still running the stock head unit but the sound quality is by far better then the tired stock door speakers. Plus Crutchfield sent me the gear i needed to install them for no extra charge, so again i say thank you Crutchfield!
Pros: Great price for these little 6.5 sound is way better too.
These speaker were a great value for replacing the stock speaker. These are not going to replace high end speakers but should replace most stock speakers. These speakers fit great with the included (free) brackets and wire harness adapters. The brackets made it possible to go from the stock 5.25 inch speaker to a 6.5 inch speaker for deeper lows. Overall very pleased with these speakers and Crutchfields service.
Pros: Fit with included brackets. Sound better than factory speakers. Better bass than factory speakers.
Wow, a product that is reasonably priced and goes in as easily as advertised. Got my money's worth and then some. Great replacement for what I had.
Pros: Cost, ease of installation, directions fantastic
Cons: None so far
Read great reviews, best price I could find for the reviews. Received product quickly and was user friendly to install being my first time doing so. The product works great.
I wasted so much time on the speakers thinking that I was hooking them up wrong. It turned out, that after all the phone calls to support they were just terrible speakers. I had one stock speaker that was rattling a bit, and due to the high ratings on the speakers, I thought that I would just replace all four. Turns out these were absolutely disappointing. I would not recommend them to anyone. I'm not sure why so many people are saying that they are way better than stock, but I can't imagine how bad the speakers must be that they are replacing.
Pros: Great price!
Cons: Void of Bass Sound like they might be blown, but all 4 sound the same. Sound worse than stock
Speakers have great sound and quality. Very pleased with performance.
Speakers are an adequate replacement for the stock speakers in the car. Nothing special but sound is clear and goes plenty loud. The instructions weren't bad but not exact either. There was a piece to remove the door handle that could have been a little more specific on removing it. I cracked the one on the driver side. Knowing what I did on that one I was able to get the passenger side off without breaking anything. Now I am unable to find a replacement part for what I broke. No listing for it anywhere. I was able to rig the door with Gorilla glue and seems to be holding. Fingers crossed. I may go for a more powerful speaker for the back doors that can handle some more bass. For now though I am happy with the speakers and cost was very low.
Pros: Inexpensive, easy install, good sound quality.
Cons: Limited bass, instructions weren't exact and left me with a cracked door release.
These speakers are pretty good; was expecting a little more bass kick out of them, but the highs and mids make up for it completely! It does have SOME bass, if the head unit is programmed correct, but it won't rattle the door.
Pros: Crisp and clean highs and mids
Cons: Could use a little more bass
Stock speakers were blown out so I went with this lower priced speaker option. Sound is great! Installation was simple. Speakers no longer buzz/rattle. Can really crank the tunes.
Pros: Great Sound Clear music Low Cost High Quality
Package arrived quickly. Came with instalation material so install was simiple.
Both sets are awesome. Mounting template included.
Awesome Speakers! Super easy to install, Great sound, a major upgrade from factory (1999) and sound awesome! Not crazy bass or anything, but Led Zeppelin sounds way better. As always, quick to ship and a great price from Crutchfield!
Pros: Easy install, sound awesome, fit just right
Cons: nothing yet
Installed these speakers in our Suburban over the weekend. Wow, what a difference in the sound quality. Replaced the two stock speakers in the front and two in the back with ease. A major difference!!! I would certainly recommend these Kenwood speakers to everyone as replacements for your stock equipment!
Pros: Low cost with high quality. Easy to install with the bracket and wiring kits. Amazingly fast delivery from Crutchfield.
Cons: Only bought four, should have bought a couple for our Silverado...
Need to update system from headset to speakers. Put them in a 1997 Honda Civic. Fit fine and was time to update system. After 20 years thought it was time.
Pros: Right fit easy to install
Ok for the money, if you want a cheap upgrade from stock. Probably should have spent a little more on better speakers.
Pros: Ok for the money.
Cons: Cheap. They distort pretty easily. Probably have to hook up subwoofer and turn bass way down on these.
These sound flat at low to medium volume. Turn it up and the distortion becomes more than evident. They may be fine for grandmas Volvo but you Rock and Roll loving head bangers are going to be disappointed in these speakers. Hollow, tiny, puny, weak speakers that leave you wanting more. This doesn't bode well when you feel the need to crank it up.
Pros: They didn't cost too much. They look good. Full instal kit included (wires, screws & protective grilles.
Cons: They sound weak even when powered with an amp. Not much bang for your hard earned bucks. Spend an extra $20 and get something much better sounding.
Seems like mainly a bass product but it does really really well no matter what you're looking for.
Pros: Good bass, no cracking or popping
Very nice speakerst for my truck with awesome sound.I would buy them again in fact want get a smaller pair for rearound door
Pros: Great speaker for the price.and fact came with mount was even better
These speakers were a great replacement for the old and worn out factory speakers in my daughter's 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500. The mounting brackets and wiring harnesses supplied (free of charge) by Crutchfield made installation quick and easy. The price for these speakers is great.
Pros: Cost, easy install, good sound.
Cons: There are better sounding speakers out there, but for the price these were perfect.
Speakers look and sound great, good price
Overall, it is a good speaker. It is lacking a lot in the low end but works great with a factory radio. I would recommend these given the price.
Pros: Cheap with decent sound
Cons: Lacks low end
Bought to replace factory speakers in 2010 honda fit... installed and instantly removed and returned.
Mounted these speakers just like the instructions said and was very disappointed at first. Might be common sense to some, but I never considered using the foam gaskets from my factory speakers on the new speakers. After I put the gaskets between the speaker and door panel they sounded great. After doing research I saw others doing this or using foam tape, makes a big difference. I suspect the foam baffles might work even better... Might have to try them.
Pros: Easy installation, price, and dealing with Crutchfield.
Cons: Nothing negative, I learned something new to make them work properly.
Bought these for my son's beater car. When I put them in they sounded fine for the price and a 17 year old driver, but one of the pair failed within a year. I will not buy replace them with the same.
Pros: In expensive
Cons: One of the pair failed within a year.
Direct fit with "supplied" (no extra charge) brackets. As advertised. Good value for the price.
Pros: They fit. Great value
Excellent product. Functions as advertised and exceeds expectations. Fast shipping and excellent service from Crutchfield, they make everything super simple and equip you with everything you need!
While these might not be the highest rated or have the SNOB appeal of more expensive brands, they are nonetheless a very good, inexpensive upgrade to your old factory speakers. Very easy to install(especially with Crutchfield's install kits) and an immediate improvement in sound quality with my factory radio.
Pros: Easy to install. Great value!
Cons: None, really.
These speakers were a massive upgrade over the factory speakers in my old 2008 Honda Fit Sport. Sound was improved across every band; excellent balance between clarity and power. For the price a pair, they are easily worth the cost.
Pros: Excellent performance for the price.
Cons: None I can think of.
Sound great and much better than the factory speakers.
Pros: Clean look, great sound
I bought two sets of these speakers for my '05 Prius with the standard factory stereo and am very pleased at the vast improvement in the sound! The speakers were easy to install with the included wiring harness, speaker brackets and detailed instructions. It took about 1.5 hrs to get them installed. I would definitely recommend these babies for anybody wanting to upgrade the sound in their ride when you don't have a lot of scratch to spend!
Pros: Improved sound. Straight forward install.
Very happy with sound quality
Pros: Good price and great sound
Bought these for my wife's 2005 GMC Yukon. Good sound quality and easy to put in. They arrived quickly and in great condition. I know my wife enjoys having these instead of the old stock speakers she had.
Pros: Perfect fit. Good sound quality. Good price.
I bought 2 sets of these for my 2005 Silverado (front & back doors) they work great for the price. Will need the adapters for the front, just drill a couple holes for the back.
Pros: Price Sound
I bought these for my wife because her speakers were all blown. They didn't impress her at all, and she had told me that they crackle when turned up high. I purchased these mainly because they were affordable and would satisfy her needs. They didn't. You get what you pay for I guess.
Cons: Weak sound, factory speakers sounded better.
The quality of the materials seems fine, but I am very disappointed in the audio performance. Of course, you need to be careful about RMS vs peak power--these speakers are listed at 300w peak but only 30w RMS. That's fine as I don't need crazy volume. What I can't stand is that after comparing the frequency response with a few others, these had the best low end listed at 35hz, yet the bass is Terrible. And I mean not even there. I replaced the front speakers in my 2002 GMC Sierra crew cab, and tested with the Clarion head unit already installed, and as I faded front to back there was a huge gain in bass on the factory rear speakers. They are both 6.5". I also noticed the magnet appears more substantial on the factory speakers. I'm just glad I tested these before installing the back, because the second pair is getting returned. Lesson learned: Frequency response specs are worthless without a dB range associated. Just because a speaker has a response doesn't mean it's audible! Don't buy these unless you only need them strictly for mids and highs. They might have a good product, but don't claim to have lows if you don't have them.
Pros: Good value. Materials seem better than factory. Look nice.
Cons: Low range is non-existent compared to specs and factory speakers.
Speakers and all the equipment came really fast, and installed very easy! would highly recommend for anyone who needs a fresh set of speakers.
Pros: easy install sounds good shipped fast
Cons: you get what you pay for
Bought these to replace the stock speakers that blew out in my trailblazer and it sounded good, I don't know if it was just me or not after having only one speaker work for so long. But overall I like the sound and you cant beat the price either. Oh and \I have it hooked up to a kenwood deck the kvt-7012bt dvd unit.
Pros: price easy installation good sound
Cons: none yet
Installed on front door and rear deck of my 2000 Nissan Altima, the only reason they sound better than the front door speakers that were replaced is because the original speakers had no more rubber surrounds. As for the rear deck, supplied hardware did not fit even after the tabs were trimmed. Should have left the original speakers alone since they had more bass.
Cons: Overrated specs
Great product. Sounds great. Easy installation.
For the price these speaker's are not to bad.
Pros: Shallow mount. Light weight compared to larger magnet speaker's I have used. The sound with a factory stereo is not that bad at all.
Cons: I did have some distortion in one of the speaker's but it passed. Other than that I have no complaints.
Easy to install and works great
Pros: quality ,good sound, price
Absolutely excellent. Perfect fit, easy install and great sound.
These are great overall speakers for the price. They sound much better than my stock speakers on my Jeep.
Pros: Great Value, Sound Quality, Size
Very nice replacements for my Subaru. The installation was fairly easy. You have to drill new holes for the mounting brackets, but you'll have that with just about any car and any new speaker these days. Be sure you have good quality drill bits on hand that can punch through sheet metal. I love the crispness of the sound and the bass is incredible, but I think my old factory speakers had it beat for the cymbals and higher-range sounds. On the other hand, I can now crank the volume up as loud as I want and there is NO distortion from these speakers. I've been punishing these new ones for about 2 weeks now, and no complaints so far. Excellent product.
Pros: Easy installation, good materials, sharp crisp sound, excellent bass response, no distortion
Cons: Comes up a little short in the higher-frequency sounds for my liking
These speakers fit and worked just fine in the doors of my truck---more than suitable replacement for the factory speakers
Pros: work good--good value
great product would buy again
Pros: great sound much better than factory
Pros: Quality speakers that are extremely easy to install.
Cons: Screw holes don't make a whole lot of sense in terms of the cover verse the speaker
Factory Subaru speakers had fuller sound then these Kenwoods. The only reason I didn't return them was that I'm planning to trade in my car soon. I guess they would be okay if you listened to books on CDs or talk radio.
Pros: Cost, upper range
Cons: build quality, mid-range and low end sound
Very good speaker for the cost. Installed as replacement front door speakers in a 2009 Acura TSX. Works well with the Tech package and very suitable replacement.
Pros: Low cost, solid overall sound.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Used these to replace Honda Civic factory speaks in the front doors. Although the factory speakers are very cheap, for some reason they do a better job of reproducing bass than these Kenwoods. Not disappointed though, these are nice two-way speakers for the price. I'll work with the EQ settings on the new Pioneer radio to gain a little more fullness overall.
Pros: Super easy installation. Nice fit. Good quality sound.
Cons: Not quite as much bass response as the oem speakers.
Good replacement for most factory speakers. What they lack in bass extension and resolution they make up for in errors of ommission, making them easy to live with -- albeit not as apparently efficient as their rated sensitivity might imply.
Pros: They know their place; they get more wrong by not attempting to reproduce something they cannot rather than attempting to do so and making a mess. This makes them less offensive than they could be when the going gets rough. Not strident. Decent midrange yields acceptable vocals. Easy to drive, though not super-efficient. Relatively clean sound at most sensible volume levels. Not the typical boom-and-tizz cheapos.
Cons: Lack bass extension. The bottom end tends to be absent. This is usually better than having it overemphasized or having a midbass hump disguised as true bass, but it should be noted nonetheless. Are not immune to breaking up and audibly clipping if asked to do too much. Decent resolution and detail, but no more than that. No more sensitive than factory speakers.
These are pretty nice speakers for the price. I've had them for about a month now and I love them.
Pros: good quality made
Great bang for your buck, I installed these in my 00 Silverado, easy install took me less than a hour.
Pros: Cheap, great quality, awesome sound for the price
These speakers have a great sound for the price, great deal with better than OEM sound.
Pros: Great price, very good sound.
Not good sound definition. Works ok with high enf speakers in the back and these in the front with fade to the rear
Cons: Sound quality
these speakers where very easy to install and sound great!!
great fit was an easy install.. and they sound great!
better than the factory on Honda Accord Sport. Dropped right in with the Crutchfield supplied speaker adapters.
Pros: great price, better than factory
These speakers were recommended by my advisor and he was right ! they sound crisp and were easy to install in my 2001 Chrysler 300M. The car has a 360w amp built in from the factory so I did not experience poor sound quality sometimes mentioned. These fit behind the OE door speaker grilles just fine.
Pros: Inexpensive with good clarity
Cons: They could have offered better hardware ( cheap screws ), for this installation , the speaker adapter had one ear that is too long for this car.
I bought these speakers for my Jeep and was so happy with the quality for the money, that I bought them again for my Dad's truck.
Pros: Great sound and easy install.
Big upgrade in sound with factory fit. Very reasonable cost for improvement in quality. Crutchfield made purchase and install a snap.
Swapped out a pair of OEM Lexus speakers for these, and ran new wiring straight from the HU to speaker to bypass stock amp. Magnets were FAR smaller in heft than OEM, which was a little bit of a red flag. Fitment wise, speakers went in easily with (additional purchase) adapters. Sound, however, does leave some left to be desired. Potentially could be remedied by running off of an aftermarket amp, but its not like I'm pushing these to the point of distortion anyway.
Pros: inexpensive, correct sizing, lightweight (?)
Cons: not great sound
I would have trusted the critical reviews on these speakers. They are only good if you are listening to talk radio. Otherwise, pay a bit more and get some better ones.
Pros: They make discernable sound and are reasonably priced.
Cons: They have no real rich tone. They don't handle higher volumes.
Great sound, That's Kenwood for you.
Pros: Sound and easy install
If you are looking to replace the factory speakers because they are blown or just want something that sounds better then these speakers are it. If you want something for show and/or competition than keep on looking. I replaced my speakers because one factory speakers was blown. I was please with the sound it put out. I also like the fact Crutchfield provide me with the wire harness for the speakers so it was just plug and play. There was no addition charges for this.
Pros: Good sound
Great price. Good quality. Very clear and crisp sound. Not a lot of bass. They fit well in my doors.
Pros: Great price. Quality.
Cons: Not much bass.
Finally got around to installing the speaker's... now that final's are over. After installation of the speakers I started Pandora and noticed that both the speakers in the front were blown. The Kicker 4x6's I bought sound superb tho.
Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: Both speakers were blown right after installation. Never received the mounting brackets that were supposed to be shipped with the order.
Purchased a 2002 Chevy Avalanche as a second vehicle/ tow vehicle. Speakers were blown. Installed was easy with the provided instructions and replaced the speakers in about 20 minutes. Great sound for the price, great value.
Pros: Easy to install, value
great quality, fast delivery, easy install , great sound
Pros: easy installation, great quality
I have one of those Chevy Silverado's with the junk door speaks known to stop working. After looking around for speakers in my area and not finding something I liked, I called Crutchfield. Should have done that first. The gentleman I spoke with (Cjarlie) asked my problem and what I would use the speaker for. All I wanted was a replacement comparable to what was in the truck. Charlie asked a few more questions, did a little research, and recommended the Kenwood KFC-1665S. He also told me all the needed material, wiring, speaker bracket, and instructions would be included. He said to call anytime for assistance, if needed. The included wiring and brackets I'm sure would have been an added fee at most other stores. Crutchfield stands behind the products they sell. I bought other products from them and had a problem with one and they took care of it with no problem, unlike a retailer in my area of a product my son purchased from that retailer. My order was delivered quickly and on time. The instructions were right on and made installing the speakers much easier for a novice. Thank You Charlie and Crutchfield
Pros: Good products. Good service and knowledgeable staff.
Great product, service & price - Crutchfield is a winner!
Pros: Easy install - great sound!
Speakers were a great value and sound great. These are not a set of high dollar competition speakers but for replacing factory speakers you won't need anything better. I would highly recommend to anyone.
Pros: Good value and good sound. Go ahead and get the scratched & dent ones if they are available. $10.00 cheaper and looked brand new.
More clear sound that the factory speakers. The low frequency cut is maybe around 160hz to 200 hz so is very lo mid. Don't wait to feel bass. If you crank the Bass in the eq is going to be distorted. But nice speaker for the price and esay to install.
Pros: Clear sound crisp highs
Cons: No Bass
Product came with a defective speaker. One plays fine, the other has distorted sound even at low volumes. Will be returning.
Cons: One speaker defective
more than your moneys worth
These speakers are simply terrible. I ordered a set for my '06 Chevy Trailblazer to replace the blown front door speakers...these are worse than the stock, base level, blown out speakers. They crackle terribly even at low volume...to the point that it sounds like a delayed echo. Even just lightly touching the woofer cone with my finger makes the crackling noise. Crutchfield sent a replacement pair and they have the same problem...4 speakers, non-consecutive, with the same manufacturing defect would be bad enough but there is more. I measured the impedance of each speaker...they are all different, ranging from 2.5-2.5 ohm (they should be 4 ohm or at least close). The brackets have lots of holes (so that they didn't have to include $0.25 adapter plates like good brands do), but they are all wrong...they don't match up to the Crutchfield vehicle-specific adapter plates, and they don't match up to the standard 6.5" holes that other brands do. That is three major manufacturing defects on each of 4 speakers...I know they contracted out production, but it is still their fault for not checking the produced units. At this point, if a $500 kenwood setup was on sale for $20, I'd pass.
Pros: At least I know never to waste money on anything from Kenwood...ever again. Crutchfield support was as better than I could have hoped for.
Cons: Terrible quality, no quality control at all, poor overall design, worse sound than a Victrola (a lot worse), and 12 major manufacturing defects per 4 speakers. If they had shipped an empty box it would have been better...at least then I wouldn't have had to waste so much time with them.
DECENT SOUND FOR THE PRICE
I bought a pair of these speakers for my Nissan Altima, and now that I bought a Jeep I wanted them for the Jeep, Very happy that I did.
Pros: For the price in my opinion the best bang for your buck
Cons: Cant`t find anything bad to say about these speakers.
For sound, and certainly for the price, these speakers absolutely rock! I put them in both my Outback XT, and my son's Legacy GT in place of the completely blown stock speakers. His car has a recent aftermarket head unit, they sound better with it than the stock one in my car. If you want a inexpensive upgrade, these are it!
easy to install. nice basic inexpensive speakers
Pros: sound very clear at low volume
Cons: Higher volume with increase base overwhelm speakers easily
They went in great to replace stock speakers
Pros: Every thang come with the speakers to install in the truck
I'm really disappointed in these speakers, but what was I expecting for an inexpensive pair of speakers? The front door stock speakers were deteriorated and needed replaced. The back door speakers were fine but I decided to replace those too while I was at it. I should have left the originals alone. Spend the extra money to get something decent
Cons: All around inferior sound quality
quality construction plus far better sound quality than the factory speakers and with the speaker mounting kit and wiring kit from Crutchfield, they were a breeze to install too, but like any of these small speakers, don't count on much bass, if you need bass and if you're like me, you need bass, you gotta get a sub or 2 and an amp, only then will you truly appreciate the sound quality of these
Pros: Kenwood quality, great price
Cons: none so far
One month after the warranty ended one of the speakers started to rattle. I assumed that the speaker was either loose or touching the door panel etc. Upon investigation, I discovered that something within the speaker itself was rattling. I will be replacing these with a more quality product.
Pros: Low cost
Cons: Poor quality
these speakers work great, sound much better than the stock speakers in my silverado !!!
Pros: bolted right in
Packaged very well and not damaged on arrival. These speakers provided much better clarity than the stock ones that blew out in my car. The instructions given by Crutchfield have been extremely helpful and allowed for simple installation.
Pros: Clarity is great. Full sound with stock stereo. Plug and play.
Cons: Would have to use amp to get full potential out of these speakers which is expected. Not much of a con but just a variable to consider.
Great speakers durable too.
Did fit great and sounded good but not what i was looking for , will return for credit and i ordered kicker brand to replace .
Great for the price, replaced my blown BMW speakers.
Pros: Low profile
Speakers sound good but don't have enough power. Construction is relatively cheap in comparison to other brand speakers in this price range.
Cons: Bad sound
Sounds great for the price
Does the job and more inexpensively
Pros: Sounds good, saves money, straightforward installation
Used to replace 8 year old JBL Inifinity 3k700 Azera speakers. Glad I replaced only one of the originals and did a side by side comparison. The Kenwood may sound ok by itself.... But in comparison to the 8 year old JBL it sounded like a tin can. I can not recommend the Kenwoods and am looking for a JBL replacement.
Pros: Reasonable build
Cons: Maybe be ok if nothing else to compare to. Otherwise I suggest JBLs. I want to return them for my money back.
Easy install if you check the box for a conversion kit first, which I did not!!! Sound is pretty good, bass could be a bit better but all around great speaker for the price.
Pros: Good price, easy installation
Cons: some sound quality issues at higher volume
Realize they are cheap speakers. Not happy with the sound and they won't take much volume out of my kenwood without distorting and bottoming out. I am returning these to try something different.
These speakers sound great and for a great price. They are very easy to install with the brackets and wires that crutchfield sends with them.
Pros: Easy installation. Great sound.
So easy to install I'll definitely be back for more
Pros: So easy to install sound great and til no time at all
Cons: I have no complaints
Good for what they are and shallow fitment for Honda worked great.
Pros: Construction, sound, shallow fitment
Cons: They are what they are for being size limited
Speakers sound good but they don't have to much power.
Pros: Good sound
Cons: Not to much power
These are great little replacement speakers... but if you are looking for any thumb, you will need a sub. I will bet they will pair nicely with any number of powered subs.
Pros: Ease of installation, crisp top end.
Purchased these speakers for replacement only, after a quick replacement they sounded a little better than stock speakers, I was however impressed with the shipping time. I would recommend these as replacement items.
Pros: Fast Shipment, well packaged, instillation kit included.
Cons: Not premium sound but do work well with my system.
For the price, about what one would expect.
Pros: Great high frequency response.
Cons: Low frequency response leaves a lot to be desired.
Good Sound for the money. Just needed replacement speakers for car that had the Radio stripped and was surprised at what i got for the Money
Pros: Bang for the buck
Cons: It is an inexpensive speaker so don't expect super rich sound but as good as any stock speaker
I put these in a 2000 G.M.C. Sierra... with the supplied harness & adapter plates, the job took less than 30 mins.
Pros: nice & easy to install, sound great
I replaced the blown speakers in front doors. I really like the sound and plane to buy a set for the back doors.
Pros: The sound is good.
Cons: Sound is a little bright but radio settings correct most of it.
easy replacment and sounds clear great deal
Pros: my truck has no power windows or locks very easy install
Cons: no cons
thank-you for a excellent speaker, with all the wires and brackets to make the job easier.
Pros: good price, good service thank-you
Giving a 5-star rating because it is a really, really nice speaker for the price and they are Exactly as advertised. The sound is crisp and clean. The quality of the speakers is top-notch. Swapped out my factory speakers (in my completely stock) 2005 Sliveradoo Z71...Everything else remains stock. The cheap paper cones (on my stock speakers) disintegrated around the entire length of both front speakers when I examined them after removal. These replacements helped get the sound back to a nice listening condition. One thing is for sure -- The New Speakers Don't Have A Lot Of Bass -- I'm no Audiophile, but it seems the stock head-unit struggles to drive the bass. I have the bass adjustment turned up to the next-to-highest setting and that gives just about as much bass as possible. Still, a great replacement from the dilapidated speakers that were completely distorting.
Pros: Great Price and the installation kit made replacing the speakers an absolute breeze
Cons: Not a lot of bass, but most likely because of the stock head-unit.
2002 Silverado 1500 LS, easy install with brackets and connectors supplied by crutchfield. Several vids on youtube provide excellent instructions for removing the door panel. Slightly less bass than OEM speakers. Only replaced front speakers, I was going to leave the tweeters connected but one had broken loose so I disconnected both in the front. Speakers are nice and clear and I get plenty of volume with the stock radio.
Pros: easy install, great value for oem replacement speakers at less than half the cost.
Cons: none at this time
Great set of speakers for the price. Nice clean sound.
Pros: Installation versatility, good brand, clean sound.
I thought my stock speakers were terrible, until I put these in. I replaced all 4 speakers and 1 week later I put the stocks back in.
Cons:Crutchfield response on September 14, 2015 Whenever you encounter a problem with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, especially a situation like this, please contact our customer service or tech support teams right away. They can help you solve the problem or set up a return within 60 days of purchase.
Was impressed with the fact that these bolted right in, didn't need the adapter plates.
Pros: Easy to install and sound great.
