So, you're finally ready to do something about your ragged factory speakers. The beauty of Kenwood's Sport Series speakers is that you can seriously improve your sound without breaking the bank.
The KFC-C6865S 6"x8" 2-way speakers feature polypropylene cones that will enrich your music with all the midbass and midrange details, while the 1" balanced-dome tweeters will make high notes soar. Kenwood also includes sharp-looking grilles in case you're doing a custom installation in your vehicle. Finally, you can enjoy your music the way it was meant to be heard, with clarity and emotion.
The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.
I don't have any negatives they sound great and are easy to install.
Pros: Sounds way better than stock computers Easy to install
For the money ,these cannot be beaten. To me, they sound like speakers costing alot more. Installing these was extremely simple. Love these.
Pros: Great sounding. easy to install
It is a massive improvement over stock.
Pros: Price and ease of installation with the included instructions.
Cons: None noted
Installed easily and great Sound. Hugh improvement over Stock Speakers
Cheap sound. Highs are not great and the mid-range sound where you here voices are muffled and compromised by the the strained bass from the woofer. I would say amplify this speaker with the maximum amount of specified wattage and use filters because i am sure running the speaker as a full range speaker will produce some distortion.
Pros: not costly and it is a direct mazda factory fit
Cons: the factory speaker produced a better sound (Highs, mid-ranges, lows) than the kenwood aftermarkets - should have went with my first mind and purchased the Polk Audio
Installed easily in 2003 Ford Ranger. Good Sound.
Not going to be blown away with these but for the money they are a great upgrade to stock speakers.
Pros: easy install and sound better than stock.
Cons: not high end speakers
They came with connector wires all nice and put together "awesome" I thought and after installing them and only getting one side working I found the problem being with that wire connector not holding the wire tight. So I thought I would take it off but the bridge where it connects is so tiny it was bending pulling the connector off, and about to break. Once working, they sound about like a really loud cell phone speaker. But I did have some 7 year old Fosgate Power series I was comparing to and the one working one sounds better than these. Crutchfield should consider not selling these any longer, it's a waste of time and effort. A cheap speaker that sounds terrible is worth being proud of because it was so cheap, but a more expensive one has traditionally got a slightly better sounding speaker.
Pros: Fits in factory position
Cons: Sounds like $20 for a lot more money.
Packs a great punch, easy to install!
If you want a great upgrade from your stock speakers these are great! Crisp and clean sound and easy to install.
I paired these with a new kenwood head unit in my 14 F150 two front and two rear they are crystal clear and powerful.
Pros: Fit perfectly as stated, great full sound.
good sound and easy to install
Pros: Easy installation with the included wire harness
Cons: No cons on this one
A huge improvement over the stock speakers. Perfect fit.
Pros: Great sound quality.
Perfect for first car, super easy installation and plenty loud for my 16 year old!
Pros: direct replacement
Great sound for the price
Appear to be a good product for the money. Using with HPF and they seem to handle the frequency range nicely.
Pros: good sound, value
Cons: none so far
Great clarity and depth of all tones. Plenty of power too
Pros: Great sound for money
Cons: None yet
As usual, anything you get for Crutchfield is well thought out and fits perfectly. Speakers really improved my sound over the factory duds. Delivery was quick.
Pros: great sound, perfect fit
Cons: No cons here. all good
Put these in the back and worked perfectly. Still can't believe how crystal clear they are, even on the hardest songs from the 80s.
Pros: Look great, Sound Awesome, Crystal Clear
Cons: Need an adapter to install.
Needed something better than factory and didn't want to pay a fortune,
Cons: You won't be satisfied if you like a high quality sound
It is a great product. I just need a stereo to match. Put it in my 2005 f-150
Cons: Crutchfield should include a dampening device to keep vibrations of the metal door.
good replacement speakers at a great price
Pros: fits well
Cons: just a step above the factory
Pros: Easy to install
These speakers replaced factory speakers in a 2010 Ford Ranger truck. I added a new Kenwood head unit to the truck at the same time and the sound upgrade was unbelievable. My original intent was to add additional functionality to the truck stereo (bluetooth, Sirius) but the new speakers really added punch to the system. Plan on using the same speakers when I upgrade my Jeep.
Pros: Ease of installation (thanks to Crutchfield adapters) Sound quality Price
Great speakers for the money. cleans up the sounds form the factory speakers and makes it a little more crisp.
Pros: easy install, good sound, cheap
Cons: only decent sound quality
Perfect fit in my 2004 Ford Ranger. Great sound paired with my Kenwood head unit.
Pros: Excellent sound and high efficiency. Perfect replacement for the old OEM speakers.
Cons: None that I can say.
A great value for a good set of speakers
I should have boxed them up and used the factory pair from 87
Pros: They fit in the factory spot
Cons: Weak sound
GREAT SPEAKER FOR THE PRICE AND MUCH BETTER THAN STOCK SPEAKERS!
Pros: EASY TO INSTALL AND SOUND GREAT!
By far this is no incredible speaker. It struggles with lows, as any oval speaker will, but the mids and highs are pretty crisp. I put these in my '02 F250 Crew Cab and they fit perfectly. Did a really good job of spiffing up the sound to a 12 year old vehicle. Next up is a single sub and we should have great sound!
Pros: Inexpensive, mids and highs are crispy
Cons: Lows are lacking
I replaced my factory Ford F150 speakers with these. I get a much brighter, fuller sound now. The old factory ones did their duty for 9 years but it was time for an update. The new Pioneers make drives much more enjoyable now.
Pros: Much better sound for the road.
Replacements for OEM speakers in a 1994 Ford Probe project car, the installation was effortless and the sound quality is excellent. A definite recommend.
Pros: Low cost. Easy of installation. Customer support. Quality of sound.
Kenwood really phoned it in on this one. Just going from a single cone to a coaxial should have been more of an improvement than this. Ford did a better job on the OEM than KW did on these. Bought 2 pair and put in the rear door ones first, doubt if I'll bother putting the front pair in. I'll get better sound from a pair of Polk DB521/DXi525 5¼" ones with adapters than what these produce. Crutchfield would be better off not selling these so they won't be disappointing folks that would've gotten something else from them instead.
Pros: They fit.
Cons: "For the money" let's them off easy. If you're going to go through the effort of pulling body panels to upgrade your speakers, your ride deserves better than these.
Outstanding product for the price!
Pros: Sound Quality is SUPERB, Bluetooth Hands Free Capable, CD, MP3 Ready, Various Color Display Options, Remote, Too many Pros to list!!!
Cons: No Cons to List!
First, these sound great for what they are. Particularly, the highs are crisp and the tweeters have held up nicely over periods of long use. As with any 5x7 or 6x8 setup, you are not going to get amazing lows, as expected, but mid-level bass with these is somewhat punchy and clear. They sounded good with the factory head unit... After I paired them with a new Kenwood unit from Crutchfield, they sound much better. Mid and high-range sounds are clear and can take ever watt of volume put at them without distorting from the 22 watts RMS from the Kenwood head unit. Interestingly, mine came with adjustable/directional tweeter domes. Not sure if this was a change in the model or what (part number is the same) but they sound great. The wiring harnesses from Crutchfield are not necessary, but are a nice bonus to anyone unfamilier with speaker install or weak electrical background. I would definitely buy these again.
Pros: Crisp highs, highs do not distort at high volume, overall great sound for this size.
Decent speakers for the price..
Pros: Exact replacement for my Ranger, fit perfect in the factory locations,
Cons: could use a little more deep bass

Tweeters: Each speaker has a 1" PEI balanced dome tweeter. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter. PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.
Mounting Applications: Kenwood describes this speaker as a 6x8, but it also fits many 5x7 applications. Please check the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit.

Less than hoped for [ BRUCE Sep 09, 2014 ]
Hi, It's not bad, but I have a convertible and I'm just listening to rock music. I have not complaints though. I don't have an amplifier hooked up to it either. Hope that helps. [ MICHAEL P. Sep 07, 2014 ]
No, they don't have a good amount of anything the six stock single cone speakers in my E350 van sounded better. These were so horrible I sent the second pair back after installing the first pair in the back doors. No 6 x 8 will deliver truly good base, but these couldn't deliver anything decent. I ended up going with a pair of Pioneer TS-D6802R for the middle pair (very clean highs & midrange, average bass) and a pair of Kenwood KFC-X683C up front (similar sound, not quite as clean) I left the pair of KFC-C6865S in the back doors because it's an 11 passenger van and they can't insult my ears from way back there ;) [ GLENN Sep 05, 2014 ]
I'd say the bass response is well within what I would expect from a 6x8" speaker. [ DAVID Sep 05, 2014 ]
Better than most in their price range but nothing earthshaking. They were a nice improvement over what I did have, an off brand and I was looking for better balance rather than bass. [ David Sep 05, 2014 ]
