Q
Does this hook up to the back of a AVH-210EX Pioneer radio-CAV3AV cable?

A
While it has been awhile since I did my installs, I did purchase the CAV3AV cable twice for use with both of my AVH-210EX installs. I did some research and found several references to successfully pairing this cable with the Pioneer AVH-210EX before I ordered. I did not find any issues and the cable worked fine (although I do not use this connection regularly, I wanted it to be handy and installed before sealing up the dashboard!

I just looked at specs and this should work. This cable is 1/8" to RCA with three inputs.

Q
I need this for audio on reverse camera. It is not stereo, has only one input. Does it matter which audio plug I use?
stephen e  Aug 01, 2019
1 answer
A
Reverse camera audio got my attention. This is used as an audio video input, but it will only operate as a single "channel" if you will. Meaning that unless you use the video input for your reverse camera as well, you won't be able to utilize both signals at once. But to answer your question, no. It doesn't matter if you use left or right audio input.

Q
Will this work with an Alpine Halo9? I can't find the Alpine equivalent of this cable.
greg  Jul 28, 2018
1 answer
A
As far as I know it will only work with kenwood products. Kenwood changed the order of the wires from the industry standard order. Just find a regular 1/8 mini jack a/v cable and you should be good.

Q
Will the Kenwood CA-C3AV work with an hdmi to av adapter on on my ddx320bt and ddx374bt?
harold  Nov 29, 2017
1 answer
A
You can use the CA-C3AV cable to connect a composite video and stereo audio source to the input of the DDX374BT, sure. If you have an HDMI adapter that provides the composite video and stereo audio output, yes, you can connect it to the CA-C3AV as the external source. I hope that helps. Q
Will the ca-c3av a/v cable by kenwood work on my blaupunkt San Jose 120 to mirror my GPS from my Moto Z play2 phone?
robert b.  Nov 15, 2017
1 answer
A
No. This cable is made for connecting an external source such as a game console, DVD player, camcorder, or digital camera (with a RCA composite video & stereo audio output) to a Kenwood multimedia receiver that features a front- or rear-panel 3.5mm A/V input.

Q
Why won't a generic RCA (red/white/yellow) to 3.5mm (3 "stripe") cable work instead of this expensive cable? I ask because this ends in female connectors, meaning it's meant to be used with non-proprietary RCA (r/w/y) cables connected to it, so I don't see how a generic cable wouldn't work.
philip  Jun 29, 2017

A
I thought that too but the contacts on the 3.5mm end have a specific order unique to how the radio is set up.
paul  Jul 03, 2017
A
The end on the RCA plug is reverse wired (r/w/y) do not line up with their standard locations. Kenwood uses a proprietary configuration on their receivers.

Q
will this cord work on my kenwood excelon ddx9903?
jesse  May 23, 2017

A
Yep! The Kenwood Excelon DDX9903S DVD receiver is fitted with a rear-panel minijack (3.5mm) audio/video input that you can use to connect the CA-C3AV cable. If you would like to discuss further, feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. Hope that helps!
