Kenwood's CMOS-210 rear-view camera is an excellent safety accessory to add to your Kenwood or Kenwood Excelon video receiver. This camera gives you a bright, wide 130-degree horizontal by 101-degree vertical view of what's behind your vehicle when you're backing up.
The camera renders a detailed 310,000 pixel resolution color image, and its highly sensitive CMOS sensor helps to eliminate distortion caused by nearby light sources like headlights. Mount the camera on your vehicle's rear bumper or license plate, route the wire through your car to your video receiver, and you'll never back over a garbage can again. The 5-foot long cable and 24-foot harness assembly fits in most vehicles and includes a composite video connector, so it'll work with almost any video receiver. Warranty: 1 year.

Works great. Great image.
Pros: Great color and image
The camera is great all around. Easy to install and the Fisheye lens has has a wide view. Sometimes I think it shows things on the sides of my car not yet behind me. Good at night as well.
This is the second Kenwood camera we have bought and installed in our cars. The installation is easy and it works great. I like the permanent mount rather than the license plate mount. We installed the first camera 2 years ago and it is still working great.
Pros: Long wire provided is even enough to do a full size SUB like a Suburban. Great clear rear view.
I gave it 4 out of 5 because it is easy to be fooled into thinking you are further away from an object than you really are because of the wide angle view. I think I would get used to it with time. Picture is good resolution & works in low light pretty well.
I purchased this camera to use inconjunction with the Kenwood Excelon DNX890HD. The camera works well, and although it says it is waterproof, I am curious to see just how long it will last. I was a bit dissapointed with the camera resolution though. You would think that for the price they would be able to offer a higher resolution. Seeing as how small cameras are these days, especially those found in the iphone 4 and 5, I expected better picture quality.
Pros: Operates as expected.
Cons: Pricey, low resolution (but I am guessing standard for back-up cameras)
Great little camera, easy to install on my F250. I coupled it with a Kenwood DDX790, and the resolution, brightness, clarity, etc. are all better than I expected. I resisted the urge for the 300 series, since I didn't want to have a toggle switch that I had to mess with. Works great--now I want backup cameras in all my vehicles!
Pros: Great picture, quick power-on when reversing, like the ability to see behind me while I'm moving.
Cons: Fish eye takes a bit of getting used to, but that's about it.
I Should have done more shopping around. Don't care for the fish eye look. Objects are much closer than they appear.
Pros: Good picture quality.
Cons: Very distorted views. To expensive for the fish eye views.
What you get is simple, a very tiny camera attached to a wire which then connects to a longer wire which then connects to power, ground and a video RCA in the front of your car. The camera is well-made and small which looks unobtrusive when installed in the rear of the vehicle. Very nice small and low profile hardware (looks like it's supposed to be there). Performance = OK but not stellar video quality (oh well it's a backup camera w/a 20 foot-ish RCA video cable so what do you want right? It is a nice addition and I like glancing for added info about what's behind me. For those w/trailers, etc, the Kenwood 990HD I installed this with will automatically engage the camera w/car in reverse but also let's you manually put it to the camera by pressing/holding the NAV button.
Pros: Well manufactured and small so easy to hide and/or make it look EOM like it's supposed to be there.
Cons: Less than great video quality and I didn't like the choice of wire lengths. You get a thgree-foot-ish length attached to the camera and then the rest as a seperate length. The wires conenct via harness so can't change the length and must extend the length into inaccesible (in my vehicle) areas to make it fit. Kenwood should have made the length attached to camera much shorter (just enough to get through the vehicle exterior).
Camera works well. Not the clearest picture but everything is still easily seen. Have friends who bought much cheaper rear view cameras that didn't last long. So decided to spend a little more and hopefully get a longer life or if it. Been a about a month and no issues so far. Night vision is not bad with stock reverse lights but auxiliary lights help a lot.
Pros: Nice wide viewing area. Cable is easy to run through smaller spaces.
Cons: On the pricy side but hoping it will last. Hopefully I will get what I paid for. ;)
The kenwood-CMOS-210 rear view camera produces a VERY CLEAR picture. Only 3 wires to connect for camera. NOTE..... when installing make sure the reverse light wire from radio harness is connected.
Pros: Great picture and its waterproof !!!!!
Installed on a 2008 Toyota Tundra Double Cab. Difficult to find a place to mount . Finally had to cut a notch in the top of the license plate. Wiring wasn't bad except for the reverse wire connection, no directions, had to call Crutchfield for the location. It's under the passenger kick panel. Blue wire in an 11 pin connector. Once connected works great.
Pros: Works with Kenwood DNX7190HD.
Cons: No directions on where to connect the reverse wire. Had to call Crutchfield.
The CMOS-210 is a great camera! Wide angle views both horizontally and vertically are clear and defined. Works well in dark conditions with only the back-up lights. There is very little work associated with hooking this device up. Power, ground, and run wires to the back of your display. Mounting is easy and straightforward.
Pros: + Wide angle view both horizontally and vertically. + Great clarity in all light and no light conditions + Easy to install
Cons: - A bit pricey
Clear, wide enough view
Pros: comes with all hardware to install and long enough cable for large car
Didn't know there was a better one that did more things
Pros: standard basic
Cons: no guide lines
Great camera very good sharp picture quality, decent night vision for the price.
The camera works well in most lighting situations. Many rave about the huge field of view but I think it is too wide. It looks like you are using a fisheye lens and the distortion makes it difficult to orient yourself. The camera in my wife's car is a more normal view and more usable.
Pros: Seems to be high quality, easy install.
Cons: Field of view is too wide for me, difficult to tell where you are in relation to nearby objects/vehicles.
The camera is paired with the Kenwood DNX6990HD. Excellent picture quality with a very wide viewing angle. I mounted mine under the tag light below the trunk lid. Couldn't be happier.
Pros: Very good picture quality. Wide angle of view.
Great camera, buy it!
Pros: Wide viewing angle, great night vision, makes life easier
Cons: Didn't come with needed cable, install shop billed me extra for that
Easy to install and makes a nice addition to my 2003 Yukon XL1500.
Pros: Small, easy to install, good viewing angle
Cons: Mounting screw could be a bit bigger.
I used this for my 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer and paired it with the Kenwood DNX6990HD. Nice backup camera and excellent image quality even at night but get any bright lights and you get a whole lot of glare.
Pros: Nice backup camera,excellent image.
Cons: Get any bright lights and you get a whole lot of glare.
As advertised. Good quality on camera both day and night.
Pros: It's a backup camera? Pros, you don't run somebody over. It integrates with the car stereo perfectly. You put the car in reverse, the camera self activates and you see behind you.
Cons: Installation, not hard, but labor intensive.
Great value. Clear picture. I used this for my 2012 Pathfinder and paired it with the Kenwood DDX 719. I truly think it was a worthwhile investment.
Pros: Clear picture.
Cons: The only con which is truly no big deal is if you are in reverse and hot the brakes you can see the reflection of the red brake lights. But to be honest this is barely noticeable.
I was fortunate to have a friend experienced in the art of routing wires through vehicles ( which IMO is the hard part). After hooking the cameras' output and power to the Kenwood 5190 the the unit was instantly recognized and functions perfectly. The image is crisp and completly useable in a wide variety of light levels. from bright sunlight to dim parking lot lighting.
