iPod Direct Connection w/ DAC Bypass: The DPX300U's front-panel USB port acts as an iPod/iPhone high-speed direct connection when used with the optional Kenwood USB Direct Connection Cable (113KCIP102, sold separately) or the USB/iPod cable that comes with your iPod/iPhone. If you have an iPod nano (7th gen), iPod touch (5th gen), or iPhone 5/5C/5S; use the Lighting-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect to the head unit. You will continue to use your iPhone's touchscreen to navigate your apps. Not all apps will be compatible with App Mode. Loudness: This function enhances low and high frequencies to make the sound clearer lower volumes. There are 3 levels (LV1, LV2, or Off).

Volume Offset: The level of each source may be independently adjusted to prevent radical leaps in output volume when switching from one source to another. The available settings range from -8 to 0.

Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

    Display Features

Variable Color Illumination: The Kenwood DPX300U features variable color display and button illumination. You can choose from one of 24 preset colors, have the unit scan through all 24 preset colors continuously, or customize your own color (RGB: 0-9). The display and button illumination can be set to the same color or set independently.

Dimmer: The dimmer function will dim this unit's display and button illumination automatically when you connect the orange/white Illumination wire of this player and the vehicle light switch is turned On. You can also choose to dim the display manually.

Display Illumination/Clock Display: When the unit is in Standby mode, the clock and button illumination is "keyed." Pressing and holding the source button turns the unit off completely.

Demo Mode: This unit features a Demo mode which can be turned On or Off within the menu.

2-DIN Chassis: The DPX300U has a 2-DIN chassis (also known as "Double-DIN"), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets, or Euro-mounted using the supplied mounting sleeve. There is also a supplied trim ring which allows it to fit perfectly in select Toyota vehicles with 200mm dash-openings. As always, please consult the Crutchfield Car Selector to verify fit with your vehicle.

    Remote Control

Wireless Remote Control: The DPX300U comes with an IR remote control (RC-406) for wireless operation of the head unit. The remote will control Audio, CD, USB, and Tuner functions. It is powered by a single CR2025 3V lithium-cell battery (supplied).

    • Numeric Keypad: The wireless remote control features a numeric keypad (0-9) which allows direct track access of your music tracks & files (from CD or USB), as well as AM/FM presets.
    • Attenuator: The CD receiver features an Attenuator button on the supplied remote control that turns the volume down very quickly with one touch of the button.

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input wire (blue/yellow) within the included wiring harness that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.

    Q
I'm replacing my old banged up factory unit with this Kenwood head, I'm currently using an FM modulator through my factory head unit for Sirius/XM (it's that old...separate small control panel), with an existing account with Sirius/XM, do I have to change the type of head or just connect the Sirius satelleite antenna to the Kendwood? Thanks...

It probably needs the update that is almost impossible to download, I had a problem sort of like that with mine. I reset mine and so far has worked fine. There is a tiny pin hole in the front of the unit that needs to be depressed to reset, hope this helps.

No. The phone needs to be able to be recognized as USB .mass storage device. The new android operating systems don't do that anymore. I don't have the radio anymore but was never able to pair with my nexus 4. I ended up buying a sandisk cruzer fit and it worked great.

You can! You can configure your USB drive on your computer to have whatever folders you want. Then all you have to do is navigate to them with the hourglass button on the deck to find your songs. Pretty simple to use.

I don't really know. The radio quit working about two weeks ago and my husband checked the fuses and they all checked out but he can't check into it further because he had a knee replacement. I know my IPOD works with it. Sorry I couldn't answer your question.

Yes you can. I just loaded some songs to test it. It started playing as soon as I plugged it in. Sounds great and even had the song titles on the display. Also works great with my I-phone/I-pod. Google nav app lowers the stereo volume and goes throught the speakers as well. My wife and I both have this unit in our vehicles and love it.

Yes. This is one of the things that I really like about this unit. I just copy files from my computer to a flash drive. I copy entire albums. The display shows all the song info which is also pretty nice.
