Kenwood

Our take on the Kenwood KCA-iP200

The KCA-iP200 connecting cable gives you high-speed access to the music on your iPod through your compatible 2007-up Kenwood CD receiver. One end of the cable plugs into your iPod's dock connector. The other end includes a USB cable and a miniplug cable, both of which connect to your Kenwood stereo's inputs.

The USB cable handles the control and charging of your iPod, so you can navigate through your music files with the Kenwood's controls and view song info on its display. The miniplug connector transfers the music from your iPod to the stereo's auxiliary input. The music travels to your stereo as an analog signal, so you can even play the Digital Rights-protected files you've stored on your iPod. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: Your 2007-up Kenwood receiver must include both a USB input and an auxiliary input in order to work with this cable. Be sure to check "Hands-on Research" for specific iPod model compatibility with this iPod adapter.

The sound quality is perfect. The controls from the deck couldn't be easier. Install was a breeze.
I especially like the Album art on the deck display that only the 991 can provide.

Hooked it to my X591 via USB and aux in inputs. Cord is way long enough. Fits my iPod 8G Nano well. Hook up your iPod and store it away. All manipulation is controlled via receiver/remote control. Allows song title and artist to scroll on the screen. Also allows user to manipulate all songs, albums, genres, and playlist through receiver. It's definitely recommended!

I couldn't have said it better myself. I have a x891. However, I use mine with the iPod Touch. Its great and works perfectly threw the head unit and get all the functionality above. Now I just wonder if the iPhone will work with it.

Works Great on iPhone 3g

Written By Mark, Springville, Utah on Monday, October 20, 2008

I gave a prior review earlier on the iPod Touch on how great it works.

I wanted to report that my iPhone 3g has NO problems and works great also. I can receive calls also. I DO NOT need to put in Airplane mode to work either. Just make sure you have the latest Firmware for your receiver.

After buy that item for my Kenwood KDC-X991 and my iPod Classic 160gb i do an call to Crutchfield's tecnical support about malfunction issues, the technican told me that this item IS NOT COMPATIBLE with iPods Classic, i'm so sad :( because my ipod sound better with this cable (KCA-iP200) than the KCA-iP500 do, the problem is that after play some songs my headunit stop responding to the commands when you spin the rotary control knob, i hope Kenwood do correction to this compatibility issue as soon as possible.
